I guess this chapter is as short as it was before. Rewriting is hard. You get spontanious ideas and want to expand but you can't as you can't change the entire story line just like that lmao. A bare 924 words, but it's written with love.

''Excuse me please Constance.'' Jane husked out as she stood from the couch and jogged after Maura.
As the agent exited the library, her eyes fell on a figure in the hallway. Blonde hair draped over her face which was covered by her hands, her back and shoulder shaking against the wall she was leaning against.

Jane's face fell at the sight of Maura crying, knowing part of it was her fault. She knew about the consequences that dating the First Daughter would bring along, and she didn't do anything to stop it.

''Maura?'' the agents voice was quiet as she rushed over to Maura, peeling the woman's hands from her face and firmly holding on to them – ignoring the stinging pain in her own hands.

Maura shook her head, lips pinched firmly together as the woman tried to choke back the tears. She looked away, not daring to make eye contact with her girlfriends worried gaze.

Jane ducked her head, ''Hey.. look at me..'' she whispered, letting go of one of the blondes hand and lifting it to her cheek. Ever so gently the brunette stroked her thumb over crying woman's cheek, wiping away the tears that had rolled down her cheeks.

''Maura.. Pretty please.'' Jane practically begged, Maura shaking her once again and inhaling sharply.

''I'm sorry.'' The blonde hiccuped before looking up at the brunette, seeing how worried Jane was.

''Don't be sorry.'' Jane whispered, leaning in and pressing a light kiss on the first daughter's lips – tasting the salty tears on them. ''I'm the one that should be saying sorry.'' She mumbled under a breath, Maura being able to feel her breath against her lips.

''I love you, Jane.'' Maura whispered, still trying to gain control over her emotions.

''I love you too, Maura.'' Jane whispered back, dropping her hands to the girl's waist and pulling her in for a tight hug. She felt Maura burrowing her head in her blouse as she started to sob again.

''I am so sorry that you had to be alone all this time, I am so sorry that I made you feel alone again.. I am so sorry Maura..'' Jane mumbled into the blonde locks. ''I am so sorry that I made you feel rejected. You did so much for me and I care so much for you, I don't know what I would do without you. I would give up my job here to move back with you to Boston, I would give up everything to make sure you won't be alone again.'' The brunette added, she was so sorry and she knew that words wouldn't make a difference in how Maura felt – but she hoped that actions would.

''I love you so much,'' Jane whispered, pulling back from the hug and looking into the with tears filled hazel green eyes.
''Don't cry.. Please?'' she whispered, kissing the blonde's nose - causing a small smile to appear onto Maura's face.

''See, that's better.'' Jane smiled, gently rocking them from side to side, Maura still in her embrace.

''I'm sorry if I ever made you feel rejected by me.'' Jane said quietly, carefully watching Maura who shrugged her shoulder and let out a sad chuckle.
''I constantly feel rejected, it isn't your fault. I just have a low self-esteem when it comes to people loving me. I am weird, nerdy – ''

''Quirky, adorable, cute, caring, smart, sexy and don't forget that you are brave, and incredibly strong.'' Jane finished for her.
''You survived Hoyt. You survived him..''

''So did you, Jane.'' Maura muttered.

''Did I really though?'' The agent questioned.
''My hands are ruined, my body is full of scars because of him. He left me with trauma, both mentally and physically. I might have survived, but he is still in charge of me.'' Jane chuckled quietly, letting her eyes linger over Maura's face.

''Despite of all your injuries you still made it to the drawers, you still made it to call Frankie and get help. You managed to get us out of there.''

''Because if I didn't, he would have slowly cut me open right in front of you and God knows what he would have done to you.. I couldn't let that happen. You were the reason I was able to get enough strength to put my pain aside and get us out of there.. I- I,'' Jane let out a shuddering breath and shook her head, tearing her eyes away from Maura's face as tears welled up in her eyes. ''I don't know what I would have done if he had touched you.. I don't know if I would've been able to live with myself if I had let him do that to you.''

''I know you would have done everything in your power not the let him touch me.'' Maura said, giving the brunette a small smile before leaning in and latching her lips to Jane's. She could feel the brunette hum against her lips before she participated in the kiss.

A cough drove them apart again, Maura whimpering quietly when Jane pulled away. Jane looked to the source of the sound but didn't bother to let go of Maura's waist. She saw Edmond standing there with his hands crossed over his chest, a disapproving look on his face.

''Rizzoli. My office now, please.'' The man said with a stern voice before turning on his heels and stomping off.

''So screwed.'' Jane mumbled under her breath, looking back at Maura who just nodded in response – yes, Jane was screwed.
