I am late, I am laaaate!
Guess who's mental health detoriated to the point where they got a manic cleaning attack?

MEEEE, so I have been busy finishing up my room that I decided to renovate out of the blue while also trying not to overwork myself.
I wont be uploading the rest of the week, but I will try to throw out chapter 16 and 17 next week. From there on it will take a bit longer as I actually have to start writing rather than just rewriting. But I got this, we're going to finish it up this time around.

Loads of love to everyone still reading and sticking by me and the story.

Jane awkwardly entered Edmond's office. ''I am so sorry, Sir.'' she started apologetic while closing the door behind herself. At seeing Maura's reaction it was beyond clear Edmond must have been fuming with anger.

''-Does she makes you happy, Jane?'' Edmond said, interrupting the brunette's apology and slightly catching her off guard with the question.

Jane looked up at the President and saw his stern face, she nodded without having to think twice.
''Yes, she does. She makes me very happy, Sir.'' She answered quietly, now walking further into the office – approaching the man standing behind his desk.
''And I truly hope I make her as happy as she makes me.'' she added quietly, stuffing her hands in the pockets of her trousers.

''How long has this been going on for?'' Edmond asked with a sigh, pinching the bridge of his nose and closing his eyes in frustration. He should have known about this yet he didn't, most likely due to his own absence from his daughters life or his ignorance to everything.

''Since Boston. The first day we arrived actually.'' Jane admitted quietly, pulling one hand out of her pocket again and gently rubbing the back of her neck.

''How could I know know?'' Edmond scoffed to himself, he opened his eyes and his hand left the bridge of his nose – he started to pace around the office.
''You went with her to Boston, we both know you don't enjoy flying and that you hate Boston. Then the both of you get abducted and you get hurt to torture my daughter. Why would my daughter, my Maura be tortured if someone she didn't care about would get hurt? Then she spent the whole month with you to help you with your recovery, she barely came home and claimed that she was just taking care of a friend. How could I be so stupid?'' the man laughed hurt, shaking his head.

Jane pinched her lips together and wasn't really sure of what to say, ''Edmond.. I know that you are going to fire me – which I understand. Maura will move back to Boston, and I will leave with her.. Even if you wouldn't fire me, I would leave this job myself. I would like to talk to you, as the father of my girlfriend – and not as the president for a moment. Is that possible?'' she asked, gently approaching Edmond and laying a hand on his shoulder to keep him from pacing around the room.

Edmond looked up at her and nodded. ''Yes, of- of course.'' He mumbled. Jane gave him an appreciative nod.
''We are going back to Boston, no matter what. And I know you are angry with me for pulling a stun like this, to date your daughter and act like it's the most normal thing to do in our position. But Edmond, I beg you – don't push Maura away from you. She loves you and she is heartbroken by the fact that her father is sending her away. It's fine that she has to move out of this house, she is old enough to live by herself and she even owns a property already. But just make sure that you stay in touch with her. Will you?'' the agent said quietly. She didn't want the two of them to lose contact.

The man nodded, ''Yeah.. I- I will. Thank you, Jane. For making Maura feel loved. We weren't always the best parents for her and I am glad she has someone to hold on to now, someone trustworthy – someone I know that will take proper care of her.'' Edmond said, flashing his daughters girlfriend a small smile.

''I will fill in the necessary forms for secret services, tell Frost how to run everything here and then I guess our professional ways split here.'' Jane said, taking a step back from the President again.

''I guess they will, indeed.'' Edmond said, nodding at the brunette. ''It was an honor to have you here, Jane. You saved my life, you saved my wife's life and you even saved my daughter. I will make sure the agency knows we didn't part ways on bad terms and maybe they could put a good word in for you back in Boston wherever you want to apply. They should have my side of the story by tomorrow so you can continue without too many problems.''

''Thank you, Mister President.'' Jane said jokingly, earning a soft chuckle from the man.

''I will see you around tomorrow though, Maura will come and pack the rest of her clothes then. Know that I will miss having you around, Rizzoli. You're a force to be reckoned with, especially that garlic pasta you make.'' Edmond said with a chuckle, Jane grinned in response and gave the man an appreciative nod.

''I will see you tomorrow, Edmond.'' She said before leaving the room and making her way back towards Maura who was still waiting for her in the hallway.

''Maur?'' a soft voice asked from her right, she snapped out of her daze and jerked her head up to look at the person who was calling for her. She saw a very worried Jane staring right back at her, she started to doze off more often lately and she knew that she wasn't always as easy to pull back from the memories as she hoped she would be.
It was easy to tell Jane to get professional help, but the further away from the kidnapping they get – the more she realizes she might need some therapy as well.

''Yes?'' Maura replied softly, now pushing herself away from the wall and turning to fully face Jane. The brunette took a little step closer to her and cupped her face. She leaned in to the touch and looked up at the guard.

''Are you okay?'' Jane husked out quietly, pressing a kiss on her forehead. She couldn't put this weight on Jane's shoulders – she couldn't make the brunette more worried than she already was, and besides that, Jane still had night terrors herself. She shouldn't be telling this to Jane.

''No..'' she said honestly, biting her bottom lip after it and tearing her eyes away from the Italians – mentally slapping herself for being honest.

''What? Why not? What happened?'' The brunette asked worried, Maura starting to tear up at the question alone. She shook her head no and stepped away from her girlfriend to create some distance between them.

''Can we- can we just go home?'' Maura asked with a shaky voice, trying to suppress the emotions from boiling over – not even realizing that she was referring to Jane's apartment as 'home'. She could see Jane's expression soften, worry still haunting the dark brown eyes. ''Yeah, yeah of course.'' Jane husked out, making quick work of leaving the White House with Maura and taking her home.

''I'm worried about you.'' Jane muttered as she let the blonde in to her apartment. ''You've been starting to act more like me and less like yourself.'' she added, closing the door behind the both of them once inside and locking it.

''Why are you worried about me?'' Maura asked, furrowing her brow at her girlfriend as the brunette took off her jacket and hung it on the peg next to the front door.

Jane carefully stuffed her hands in to the pockets of her jeans and gave her shoulders a shrug, she wasn't at ease with this whole talk and she wasn't sure if she ever would be.
''I am worried because I was unconscious for most of what happened. You were awake when he undressed you, you were awake when he cut me open and you were awake when he messed up my hands. He may not have raped you, but I know that he touched you. You need to stop pushing it away because I know you haven't been okay. You try so hard to take care of me and be this rock I can lean on but you need therapy as much as I do. If there is one thing I learned from you, it is that it's completely fine not to be okay..'' the brunette finished quietly, brown eyes starting back at hazel green.

Maura seemed to be caught off guard by what was said, a mixture of sadness mixed with confusion laying behind her gaze – Jane could see her trying to organize the situation and pull herself together. But without success.

The blondes face fell as she walked to Jane and pushed herself in to the woman's body, her arms wrapping tightly around the brunettes waist as she burrowed her head in to her neck.

Jane's eyes widened in surprise for a moment as Maura came for her but she naturally wrapped her arms around her girlfriend, not daring to let go of her as the blonde started to cry.

It was clear to herself as much as it was to Jane, Maura was losing herself. Of course she wasn't okay. Hoyt had touched her and hurt Jane while she begged him not to, the events made her lose trust in her own capabilities. She couldn't defend herself or the woman she loved and it messed with her head. She was glad she didn't have night terrors as bad as Jane's, but she knew there was a thin line between where she was now and losing her sanity.

The blonde whispered, ''I need help, Jane.'' her voice shaky, breath frantic as she tried to calm herself down.

''We both do, Maur. We will start searching for a therapist once we are back in Boston, okay?'' Jane muttered in to blonde locks.

Maura pulled back from the brunettes hold and looked up at her confused, seeing a small smile tugging on Jane's lips.
''We?'' the blonde asked.

Jane nodded, ''Yes, we. I am going back to Boston with you. My forms will be ready by the end of the week so we can fly back with my mother, Frankie and Tommy.''

''You gave up your job at the agency?'' Maura asked with a frown, not believing what Jane was saying. The brunette had build up quite the reputation for herself within the agency, successfully saving the Presidential couple and only days later the First Daughter. Jobs would be lined up for her after her revalidation.

''I wanted to ask if they could place me as your guard or give me work in Boston, but I think I will go with my old loan and ask if they still have a spot in Homicide for me.'' Jane replied honestly. She knew that her loan had tripled since she worked for the White House and secret services, but she didn't mind going back to Boston. She survived there on a low loan once before and she wouldn't mind doing it again. She had missed her hometown and was actually surprised when she longed to going back. Shewanted to go back to Boston.

''Oh, they will have a spot for you.'' Maura said, a bright smile appearing on her face as she pulled Jane in for a passionate kiss.

They were going back to Boston.
