~Mericcup Month Day 4,5: Old friends/What's new~

~Merida~

It was just another day back at home, I thought this day was going to be just me Jack, and Rapunzel hanging out to the movies this weekend. But I found out that Hiccup and old friend was coming to surprise me. I haven't seen him since we all graduated from high school.

I wonder what has happened to the wee lamb?

"So when is the wee lamb coming by?" I cross my arms.

"Hiccup said he was going to be late to the movies." Jack told me and Rapunzel.

Jack, Rapunzel and I have known each other since high school, I didn't think the two would get together as a couple. Though at times I did tease them about dating each other at one point. But I'm happy that they've been together for two years now.

The Big four the other kids in high school would call us since we would always hang out with each other even after high school. At times I remember defending Hiccup most of his high school years because the wee lad is small as a fish bone. Though Rapunzel teased me for having a crush on him during school.

Out of the four of us, Hiccup is the only one that went to College and moved, Jack, has been keeping in touch with him just to check on the lad. I wonder if he's still dating Astrid... I-I mean he must be happy wither her right?

"Besides, we've got 15 minutes of previews, we'll be fine." Rapunzel smiled.

Right, he better not much us late.

"Look he's here!" Jack pointed.

All three of us turned our heads looking over seeing Hiccup driving his black motorcycle and parking in the parking lot at the theater. He quickly parks his bike, locking his wheels as he ran over towards us.

"Late much?" Jack commented.

Hiccup stopped in front of all of us pulling his helmet off of his head. My eyes widen seeing how different Hiccup was now then he was when he was since I've last seen him. I've known him since middle school and seeing now made my heart beat fast.

He had a lean face and handsome features with braids in his long hair as he smiled at me. I could swear I lost my breath... Snap out of it Merida!

"Sorry sorry. I was at the gym and lost time." Hiccup rubbed the back of his neck.

"Ya work out now?" I was shocked.

"Since after high school. I-I took your advice and seems to help me out." Hiccup smiled.

I felt my cheeks burning so I quickly turned away as if I was looking for my movie ticket. Hiccup went over to the booth and bought his ticket and we all went inside sitting down just in time.

The movie we were watching was Crazy Rich Asians, a very interesting movie. Nick's mother in the movie reminded me of how Rapunzel parents didn't approve of Jack at first but slowly approved their relationship later. Jack wasn't for one to go to school, afterward, he went into his music career.

Rapunzel wanted to make her own makeup company, she became the 2nd famous makeup company today. While Hiccup went to school for robotics to help make a robotic prosthetic for kids in need.

I went into my Archery career and continued entering and competing against top shooters around the world and gotten up to the top three.

"Nick's mom reminds me of your mom." Hiccup smirked at me.

"Aye, she's just as stubborn as her." I smiled.

"I would say, Nick and Rachel, are like you too." Rapunzel laughed quietly.

I blushed hearing her say, that hopefully, Hiccup didn't see my face as I quickly looked away. After the movie finished we all stood outside talking about how our lives are and since we haven't heard from Hiccup since High school wanted to know what's happened to him.

"So is this wee lamb little anymore?" Hiccup smirked at me.

"A-ye say, ya grew a lot." I commented.

"You've gotten taller Hiccup." Rapunzel lifted her hand to compare her height to Jack's.

"Not that tall. I'm the same height as Jack." Hiccup spoke.

"Not really you're taller." Jack shrugged.

"So how are you and Astrid?" Rapunzel asked.

I felt a sting in my heart hearing Astrid's name. Why am I feeling this way? Shouldn't I be happy for Hiccup?

"Oh, Jack didn't tell you guys?" Hiccup looked between him and Jack.

"Hey don't look at me. I thought that's your privacy." Jack put his hand up in defense.

"What happened?" I asked.

"Since I was at College... Astrid didn't want to do a long distance relationship anymore. I can't blame her, I was trying to balance a job and college at the same time." Hiccup told us.

"A- Sorry to hear that." I spoke.

"Well, she broke up with me. It wasn't all that bad... I-I mean it sucks but-... You know." Hiccup rubbed his neck.

"So are you two going to get back together?" Jack asked.

"No, that was three months ago. She's dating Eret now." Hiccup smiled.

I-is he happy that... Is he happy about Astrid finding someone else? I-I didn't think but...

"There's your chance Redhead." Jack winked at me.

I hate when frosty teases me!

"Jack! Come on, stop teasing them." Rapunzel pulled Jack's arm.

"Okay okay, sorry." Jack laughed.

"Shut ya mouth Frosty!" I yelled at Jack.

"Why are you yelling Merida? Your face is just as red as your hair." Jack smiled.

"Why ya!"

I was about to rip Jack's head right off his body, but I felt arms wrap around my waist as I trip attacking Jack.

"Let's just head home all right?" I heard Hiccup.

"Fine. Ya won't be this lucky this time!" I stomped away from the group.

"What?!" Jack spoke before I walked away.

I didn't even notice Hiccup following right behind me.

"I'll give you a ride Mer." I turned around looking at Hiccup smiling at me.

"But aye don't have a helmet."

Hiccup didn't need me to ask him, he pulled his bag on his back opened it up and pulled out an extra helmet he had.

"Here, you can keep it." Hiccup put the helmet onto my head.

"Aye!"

"I want you to be safe Mer." Hiccup hopped onto his bike.

I wasn't mad anymore, I just smiled and sat behind him as I wrapped my arms behind him. Even with his shirt on I could tell he had been going to the gym. After some stop lights, we were in front of my house.

"Thank ya Hiccup." I climb off Hiccup's bike.

"Your welcome Milady." Hiccup smiled.

"Are ya sure I can keep your helmet?" I asked him.

Hiccup turned off his bike as he set the kickstand down for his bike, standing up he removed his helmet and smiled at me.

"Well, I was planning to give it to my new girlfriend." Hiccup smirk.

I could see the mischievous in his eyes.

"W-what?!" I stuttered.

"I was planning to ask you out after we were alone at the theaters but Jack kind of ruined it." Hiccup admitted.

"Wait! Are ya saying, ya like me?" I pointed to myself.

"I've had a crush on you since we knew each other in middle school Mer." Hiccup rubbed the back of his neck.

"But Astrid.."

"That was before I found out I had feelings for you. After I left for college, I slowly started to realized I had feelings for you. Soon as Astrid saw that, she knew it's best for us to split. She wanted me to come back to see you again." Hiccup informed me.

I-I had no idea Astrid wanted Hiccup to come back to me, someday when I get to see her I should thank her.

"But what about your dream?" I asked him.

"Helping kids? The company I applied to is building a building here, so you'll be stuck with the wee lamb." Hiccup smiled.

"(clears throat) So Mer. Will you go out with me?" Hiccup asked me.

"The wee lamb finally asked me out? Sure I'll give ya a chance." I smiled.

Hiccup pulled me towards him as he kissed me dearly, I wrapped my arms around his neck as I heard my dad yell.

"I lost the bet Elinor!"

We both pulled away looking at the front door.

"Why ya and Stoick always betting on our children!?" My mom yelled.

Hiccup and I laughed as we both didn't care what we've heard, he pulled me once again to kiss me again. I'm glad he came back.
