~Mericcup Month Day 7: Rekindled love~

~Hiccup and Merida~

Hiccup and Merida were off to our double date with our good friends Jack and Rapunzel, they went to see the movies as Jack and Rapunzel were waiting for them to arrive. After parking their car the two walked over to the ticket booth so the two could buy their ticket.

After sitting down with Jack and Rapunzel talking about how their life was and watching the movie for two hours. After the movie was over the four stood outside laughing and joking with each other for some fun. Even Merida teases Jack and Rapunzel on having children soon.

After some time everyone decided that it was time for everyone to head home since it was getting dark, all of them getting into their own cars and heading opposite directions away towards their homes.

Hiccup and Merida were about three stop lights away from their nearby housing neighborhood. After stopping at one stop light the two shared on loving conversation talking about possibly having kids in the future and whom would they act like.

It was a four-way road where two would go forward, backward, left and right. As their light turned green Hiccup who was the driver didn't notice the speeding car coming towards his side. They were no time to react as the car hit their car hitting Hiccup's side first as their car flipped over.

What felt like minutes turned to hours, Merida was the first to wake up see them two upside down with the only thing holding them up was their seatbelts. Feeling a headache with dizziness, she couldn't find her bearings at first.

"Are you all right?"

At first, she wasn't sure what had happened then realizing Merida spoke out only finding her voice in a weak state.

"Help!" She tried yelling.

Merida has looked over seeing Hiccup hadn't even woken up as of yet. Not knowing what to do, she was shocked to see her husband seeing if he'd wouldn't wake up. But nothing happened.

Turning her head she saw that help had been called over, she couldn't even speak as she froze crying hoping they would help Hiccup first. The three men that were there cut the seatbelt holding Merida and carefully pulled her out of the vehicle without hurting her.

They laid her down flashing a flashlight to her eyes trying to make sure her nerves were still working.

"I-is Hiccup all right?" She finally found her voice.

"Is that the man that was next to you?" The man asked.

"Yes!" She quickly answered as she tried sitting up.

"No ma'am, please stay down. We don't know if you've severely injured yourself." The man told her.

She only laid there crying as she hoped something or someone could see her husband and help him out.

"Hiccup is he your husband?" The started.

"Yes."

"How long have you've guys been married?"

She knew was trying to cheer her up about this situation with some memories for her to think about.

"Two years." She answered.

"Do you guys have kids?" He asked next.

"W-we talked about having kids." Merida stuttered.

"That's good, maybe something you two can talk about after this." He calmed me down.

Merida could only lay down as she hears the people around her, talking about the situation of Hiccup. This. Could only make her worry even more about her husband.

"We're going to have to cut the door open. His leg is stuck from the impact."

"Please tell me he's all right?!" Merida yelled.

"What is your name ma'am?" The man who was helping me asked.

"Merida Haddock." She introduced herself.

"Well, Merida my name is Aran." Aran introduces himself.

"Please tell me Hiccup is going to be okay?" Merida cried.

"Merida, we're trying our best to help your husband out." Aran told her.

After hearing a loud noise from what sounds like a saw sawing metal, she could only shake thinking that this accident caused something worse.

But soon she heard the sound of metal hitting the floor next to her caught her attention away from her husband.

"We're going to send you to the hospital first."

"B-But... Aye can't leave Hiccup!" Merida yelled.

She didn't even get a chance to protest as the medical team carefully picked her up putting her on the medical bed where she was going to be transferred to the hospital.

This gave her a little glimpse of the men helping her husband out, the door then the driver side had been cut completely out. Her husband was also put onto the medical bed like she was and was completely covered in blood as a long sharp glass they were holding was in his head.

Before she could say anything the doors to the back of the ambulance car was closed.

~Merida~

I sat inside the hospital for what felt like hours, having no idea if Hiccup was going to be okay. I called my mom, Rapunzel, and Jack as soon as I had the chance of letting them know about the whole situation.

I let the doctors check up on me, making sure that nothing else inside of me was bleeding as the doctor that said he was watching over my husband came inside my room.

"Are you Miss Haddock?" The doctor asked.

I nodded my head in response.

"Test showed nothing severe that has happened, you'll experience whiplash other than that." He told me.

"C-can I see my husband?" I was quick to ask.

"Right, your husband experience more trauma than you from the accident. He severely injured his head, we were able to carefully remove the glass that was on his head." He informed me.

"What going to happen to him?"

The doctor's eyes looked towards the ground as he finally looked up back to me.

"His head injury will cause him memory loss. How much? We're not sure till he wakes up. But you can see him now."

I quickly followed the doctor to where Hiccup's room was at, aye saw my parents, Jack, and Rapunzel waiting outside of his room. As I walked over to them all my mom was the first to hug me. I only wanted to hug her as I let all my tears out.

Jack and Rapunzel told me soon as I called them they headed the hospital I told them where both of us were staying at. They've been waiting to hear about if they could see Hiccup since I've come. The doctor looked at all of us allowing us to see Hiccup.

Soon as I went inside, I saw it all. Hiccup covered in bandages all over his head as the heartbeat monitor was beating away in tune with his heart. I could only cry as I saw him laying in bed not waking up. I thought this was all my fault, I cause Hiccup to look away from the road. If I hadn't I wouldn't...

It didn't take long until Hiccup's parents come inside sawing the horrors as I did, I could only sit in a chair that was next to Hiccup. My parents left afterward seeing that Jack and Rapunzel were going to stay here with me. What felt like hours I only sat there as Rapunzel asked about what had happened.

"What happened?" Rapunzel asked me.

"All I remember is that Hiccup was driving forward and a car from his side hit us. I didn't see the car that hit us after I woke up." I told her.

"Hit and run." Jack commented.

Rapunzel only felt sympathy for me since there was nothing I really could do even if the person hit our car stayed.

"From what it sounds like, they called help before they were too scared to stay." Rapunzel assured me.

"If aye see that person that hit us, aye will kill them!" I yelled.

Jack being that he is would honestly tease me for being mad, like saying I'm just as red as my hair or something else. But this time he didn't even bother to do so, instead, he just placed a hand onto my shoulder to help support me.

"Uhh..."

All of our head pop up seeing Hiccup waking up, a smile spread across my face seeing he was all right. Stoick quickly got the doctor and Elinor sat on the other side seeing Hiccup. Hiccup opened his eyes seeing all of us as he had on hand onto his head as if there was still pain there.

"Hiccup! Oh, thank god you're all right!" Valaka smiled.

His eyes widen as if he had no idea what she was saying, this frightens me seeing this is what the doctor had said. Right as the doctor came in Hiccup seemed to be lost to seeing where he was at.

"Mr. Haddock, how do you feel?" The doctor asked.

"My head hurts..." Hiccup said.

"That should go away eventually. Do you remember what happened who you are?" Hiccup looked down as if he was trying to remember.

"N-no not really. W-where am I?" He asked.

My heart dropped as seeing Hiccup not even remember anything that had happened, I felt tears threatening to come down so I stood up and ran to the bathroom. I heard Rapunzel following me to the bathroom, she only held me seeing how the situation was.

I only cried and cried seeing that there was nothing I could do about this situation. After a couple of days, Hiccup was allowed back home with me, Valka was able to get him to remember his childhood and where he lived, as Jack and Rapunzel were able to get Hiccup to remember them.

The only person he didn't remember was me, the doctor told me any photos or events that happened before may help in causing a memory to come back to him. As the door opened Toothless came running out barking excitedly at Hiccup.

Hiccup opens his arms as he hugged his best friend and family dog to him.

"Hey Toothless! You missed me didn't you?" Hiccup smiled.

Toothless barked as Hiccup smiled at him.

"Sorry, I get myself injured and had to stay away." Hiccup smiled.

I could only feel my lips curl into a smile seeing him like this, this was the only time I've seen Hiccup smiling after the accident. Toothless licked Hiccup's face as I walked inside our house. Hiccup followed behind me as he looked around at his surroundings. I could tell he didn't feel as if he was home...

"So this is our house?" He asked me.

"Y-yes..." I started.

"How long have we been married?" He asked me.

"Two years..." I looked away.

I could see him smirked as he thought about his next question.

"H-have we... Talked about having kids?" I saw him blush.

"Y-yes... Actually, that was..." I stopped.

"What?" He stared at me.

I just shook my head as I didn't want to remind Hiccup about the accident, I only looked away as I went to the bathroom.

"N-nothing, I'll be in the bathroom."

I thought it wouldn't take very long for Hiccup to remember me, but it had been four days since he's been home from the hospital. Yet showing the photos of us, talking about all the things we did. Hiccup hasn't remembered one thing about us, I felt as though I really couldn't do anything.

I was only on the phone with Rapunzel distressed about the whole situation, I could only talk to her about this.

"Aye can't do this anymore Rapunzel!" I cried.

"Just calm down Merida. He'll remember eventually." She told me.

"How long will that be? Aye tried everything! Taking him to places we ate at, showing him photos. Played our favorite songs! Aye feel like I'm living with a stranger." I cried again.

"Today is a two year Rapunzel... Aye was going to tell him he's going to be a dad."

"Hiccup is still Hiccup, and he would love you no matter what Merida." Rapunzel calmed me down.

As the conversation went on I didn't even know Hiccup was still up listening in about us. He must have felt hurt hearing me say this. I hand up after Rapunzel had to get going and I just shook my head. I heard my door open and I saw Hiccup standing there.

he was holding something in his hand. It was a present with a letter for me.

He handed it to me as I took it and held it into my hands. I opened it with my eyes widening. It was a necklace with emeralds and rubies around a silver chain. I felt my eyes water as I stared at Hiccup smiling at me.

"B-but I thought..." I stopped.

"Hearing you talk to Rapunzel about the accident and how you were pregnant... It helped me remember everything. I-I'm sorry about everything Mer..." Hiccup blushed.

"I love you Mer, from the day I meet you. I loved you since I finally found out I had feelings for you. I-"

I didn't even let him finish as I kissed him dearly pulling him to me, I could only hold him as if he was going to disappear from me. He was stunned as he kissed me back with the same gesture. After we were done I could see him giving me his smirk as usual.

"I love ya wee lamb." I smiled.

"I love you too Merida Haddock."

We kissed again, we didn't leave our bedroom that night.
