AN: I haven't seen anyone do it where Hiccup is Prince Philip and Merida as Aurora yet, so I think I'm first. Correct me if I'm wrong. This helps me with a Mericcup month prompt. Also, a friendly reminder for you guys to always take care of yourselves both physically and mentally. I tend to forget to take care of myself which is why I have people with me to remind me to do so. :D Requested by jloves-pp

~Mericcup Month Day 2: In a letter~

Once there were four Kingdoms, all that had once use or knew of magic and it's mysterious ways. They all keep the peace within their worlds and their fellow Kingdoms to help them out if they are needed.

The Kingdom of Corona, the Kingdom of Dunrbroch, the Kindom of Berk, and the Kingdom of Burgess were all once peaceful. Everyone had been invited to go see the birth of the firstborn Merida Dunborch, well almost everyone. All the royal couples had already arrived giving their gifts to the beautiful Merida to celebrate her first birthday.

Then one couple walked up with a small boy in the queen's hands, he was sitting on the hip of her mothers as he laughed and smiled.

"Hiccup, why don't you say hi to the Princess?" Hiccup looked over to his mother Valka as he looked over the crib as the baby smiled at him.

Hiccup had shaken his head as he hid his face to his mother's shirt not wanting to say anything.

"Aye think, the lad is shy." King Fergus laughed as he smiled at the couple in front of him.

"He'll be strong." Stoick smiled at his son causing them all the laugh together.

As the royal couple from Corona brought their gifts and had their daughter Rapunzel greet them, along with Jack and his parents. Everyone was enjoying the fun and laughter as many had taken the dance floor and dance to the songs. That was when the guardians came in bringing their gifts as well, North gave the young Princess a stuffed animal that was a dark mare. Bunny gave her some flowers and Toothiana gave her a gift.

Sandy was the last on to give his gift to the young Princess before he could give Merida the doors slammed opened causing all the lanterns and candles to blow out. Everyone screamed inside of the room as they all saw dragons and nightmare horses walking in the room.

"Valka, go!" Valka didn't argue as she picked up her son going to the side of the room in hopes to protect their son.

Elinor did the same as she picked up her daughter from the crib and held her closing to her body.

The two Queens were blocked at two nightmares that stopped their path causing then to stop in their place. Fergus being quick with his feet, he ran for his bow and arrows quickly shooting an arrow at the Nightmare causing it became a pile of black sand. Stoick threw his ax doing the same to the other Nightmare.

"Afraid, Stoick?" Stoick glared at the large man in front of him, half of his body covered in dragons skin as he smirked at him.

"Drago." That enough caused Fergus to take a stance next to Stoick ready to attack with his dear friend.

"What are you doing working with Pitch?" North glared at the man.

"Magic has its wonders."

No one said a word as everyone stood there in shock, while the guardians took their fighting stance ready to attack if necessary.

"What ya want? Ya overgrown muck!" Fergus spat as Drago laughed.

"Revenge." Drago smiled wickedly.

"I'm here, you can get me." Stoick was quick to answer.

"Not you." Drago smiled at the baby as Elinor pulled her daughter closer.

With a wave of his hand, all the dragons went after Elinor along with the nightmares, this caused both of the husbands to attack any of the creatures to attack and protect their wife's. Stoick was knocked into a pillar at the side as Fergus was knockdown.

Three nightmares blocked Elinor's path causing her to back into a wall, she didn't see the one using her shadow as cover. The fourth one dissolved and took Merida from her hands bringing the baby to Drago. Hiccup who was in his mother's hands was quick to notice baby Merida taking.

As the guardians charged in they all were overtaken by the number of dragons and nightmares surrounding them, that allowed Drago to get baby Merida into his arms.

"Gifts for the young Princess! I shall give her one!" Drago smirked.

Waving his hand around you could see specks of black sand being sprinkled over the Princess.

"On her 18th birthday, the Princess will grow fair and brave. But she will prick her finger spindle of a spinning wheel. And die!" Merida was crying in distress causing Elinor to grab a fallen sword attacking all the nightmares.

She ran to Drago putting her sword up as Drago threw the baby at her. Elinor dropped her sword catching her daughter into her hands, as she inspected her for injuries.

Drago snapped his finger as all the nightmares disappear appearing right next to him, then all the dragons took to his side.

"Have fun!" With a flick of his cape, he disappeared along with the nightmares and dragons that were with him.

"Please tell me what he said isn't true!" Elinor looked over to the guardians who were all gloom.

Fergus had gotten up and run to his Queen's side holding her his arms comforting her as much as he could.

That was when sandy flew to the couple and waved his hands. Symbols appeared on top of his head as it flashed very quickly. North waved his hands to Sandy as he was trying to get him to stop.

"Slow down, Sandy! You said, there is another way?" The Russian man stared.

"There is?" Fergus looked up in hope.

Sandy nodded his head as he did the same thing as Drago, though no one could understand the symbols on top of his head. Only North and the rest of the guardians cold as they watched him.

"Sandy gave your daughter time. She will not die, she will be put to sleep instead. It's the only thing he could do." Both Fergus and Elinor held each other as they lost hope.

After those events, every spinning wheel was thrown out to be burnt as a caution in case anything were to happen. Though scared they didn't want to give Drago a chance to come back so they handed the trusted guardians to take care of Merida. The other fellow Kingdoms out of respect too burned all the spinning wheels as a caution as well. Though it only seemed that Drago's target was the Dunbroch family they still took cautions.

~Maidie~

Madie didn't remember why mostly why her family always wanted her to stay inside of uncle North's workshop. Though the only thing she did remember was that she was told her parent trusted them to protect her after they died protecting her.

But of course, she never did listen, she was out shooting her arrows hitting the target dead center as her horse Angus was sitting in the grass. Madie smirked as she hit another target as she wanted to. She pulled out a cloth from her bag and wrapped it over her eyes as she pulled the arrow to her face. She took one deep breath as she let the arrow go hearing it the satisfying sound of the arrow hitting a tree.

She pulled the cloth down seeing she hit the target once again dead center as a satisfied smiled appeared. She ran up to the targets pull all the arrows back noticing a light next to the target she was at. It was a weird creature whispering to her, almost as it was trying to drag her to somewhere in the unknown. She slowly followed these lights as she didn't bother to hear anything else around her. As he light disappear another appeared behind the last one.

Right as the last light disappeared she notices a small red creature looked to be injured, as her eyes widen. She realized it was a dragon! Not any she has seen before, she had heard there were dragons before. Though she never knew there were some near her home. As she carefully approached the dragon it squeaked out in fear, possibly calling out for help. She kneels, looking over it and noticed the wing was broken. She was about to touch the little dragon's wing before it tried to bite her finger off. Madie screamed out as she backed away.

The dragon stopped as it looked at her scared.

"Aye'm not going to hurt ya." She slowly moved her hand to it this time, she rubbed the poor dragons head gently and it seemed to calm down.

"STOP!" She jumped up pulling her bow up as she notched her arrow.

She saw a tall man there wearing black armor, he wore a helmet that covered his face preventing her from seeing him. He pulled his hands up showing he wasn't armed as he stood there.

"W-who are ya?! How did ya get here?!" Madie tried her best not to stutter.

"H-hey there... Lady, with a bow, pointed at me." She heard the stranger stuttered.

"Aye asked ya a question! How did ya get here?!" She yelled moving her bow causing the stranger to flinch.

"Look, I'm here for that dragon. She lost her way, I'm just here to bring her back hom-..." He stopped as he stared at her.

This caused Madie to glare at the stranger, not only was he acting strange but just... Did he stop talking for a moment? Why isn't he talking to her anymore?

"What? Ya haven't seen a woman or something?" Madie stood tall trying her best to look threatening.

"N-nothing... Look, we're here off to the wrong start. I'll tell you who I am. And you can tell me who you are and put the bow down." Madie saw the man moved his hands up to his head, she pulled her bow up to pointed it at his head.

The man stopped as he was showing he was taking off his helmet, Madie continues to point her bow watching the man pull his helmet off as he brushed a hand through his hair. She blushed, he was very handsome. He was not only tall but he had brown hair and beautiful emerald eyes staring at her. She shook her head trying to get the thoughts out of her head seeing it was a distraction for her. She pulled the bow back up as she glared at the stranger again.

"I'm Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the Third." Hiccup motioned his hand for her to do the same.

"Hiccup? What kind of name is that?" She smiled.

"And yours?" He raised a brow at her.

Madie groans as she rolled her eyes not wanting to answer, though she saw Hiccup watching as he motioned for her again to speak up.

"Madie Fireheart." She answered quickly.

"Beautiful name." He smiled at her.

Madie scoffed as she lowered her bow and turned back around to the injured dragon, she pulled out the knife sheathed on her ankle. She pulled it out cutting a small portion of her dress as she looked for sticks around. Merida sheathed the knife back, as she lifted a hand letting the small dragon know she didn't mean any harm. The dragon huffed as it rested her head onto the ground not wanting to fight anymore, it seems to be more focused on the pain versus trying to bite at her. She was careful to wrap the wing in place not hurting the poor thing as Hiccup kneel to her side, in case she needed any help. As Madie finished what she was doing, she glared at Hiccup standing up as she walked back to her horse.

Hiccup was stunned as this redhead woman didn't bother with him there, she smiled as he picked the dragon up and walked after her.

"H-Hey wait!"

Hiccup ran after the young woman as the dragon climbed on top of his head. This caused Madie to turn back around glaring at the young lad causing him to stop, her stare gave him the chills as if he didn't want to cross anything.

"What ya want?" She crossed her arms together.

"Y-you just fixed her wing." Hiccup pointed at the small dragon.

"So?" The little red dragon jumped from Hiccup's head to hers and started to play with her hair. Madie as first was scared but notice how he just sat there smiling at her.

"Terrible Terrors don't normally do that." Hiccup smiled.

"A what?"

"Oh, the little guy, he's a Terrible Terror. It's a type of species of dragons we have at Berk." Hiccup smirked.

Madie jaws dropped like she finally found gold out of her life, perhaps these little lights were trying to get her to know this man so she could finally see the world around her.

"Ya have dragons?" She smiled.

"Yes, we train them." Hiccup motioned.

"TEACH ME!"

"Ow!" Hiccup covered his ears as she screamed.

"Sorry, aye was excited." She smiled.

Hiccup laughed as he looked at the young woman, he couldn't believe someone like her was here living by herself. Or so he thought.

"You can keep her, I have my own." Hiccup walked away.

This went on for a couple of days, Hiccup introduced Toothless to Madie slowly and at first, she was scared of the dragon. But after a long while, she finally got the hand with riding Toothless, though she didn't understand why Hiccup stayed.

"Hiccup?" Hiccup turned his head to her.

"Why ya stay? You could take Ingle back and forget about me." She stared at the young man.

Hiccup laughed as he didn't know what to say, he looked down at the ground playing with the rock near his metal foot.

"Well, you seemed to make a bond with the little dragon. That isn't something I can take away." He smiled at her.

"Still, ya could leave. Instead of coming back." She smiled.

"Can I tell you something?" Madie eyed Hiccup.

"What?"

"I-... I don't know but I... I have this feeling we know each other somehow. From the past." Hiccup admitted.

"But, aye would know ya if aye did." Hiccup shook his head as he laughed.

"Yeah your right. But I'm glad she likes you." Ingle licked Hiccup's hand as she snuggled next to him.

"What are you going to do for your birthday?" Hiccup looked at her, this caused Madie to blush as she didn't know what to say.

"Aye'm not sure. My uncle's and aunts are going to surprise me for my 18th birthday." Merida laid her head onto her knees.

"What if I could take you to Berk?" Madie quickly turned her head as she smiled, though that faded.

"What?"

"Aye've never left this area. Or was allowed to." She looked away.

"Why?"

"Aye don't know." She admitted.

Hiccup looked down in thought trying to figure out what to say next, then he smiled as he stood up and took her hand.

"Here, let's ride Toothless. Always cheers me up."

And they did. Hiccup would always do this to cheer her up even though he didn't have to. Every time Hiccup would left he would take Ingle as an agreement to send letters to her as long as Merida did the same. So he continues to come back to see her, give a ride with Toothless in the sky and he would leave. By the time it was over Hiccup stood there in front of her smiling, he didn't want to leave just yet. Merida pecked his cheek as she turned away to go home before she did Hiccup came and kissed her causing the two to blush.

"Aye don't want ya to leave." She sighed.

"Neither do I. I'll be back here tomorrow night. I take you away and back with me to Berk." He smiled.

"Okay." Merida nodded her head. She couldn't help but smile knowing he was going to show her his home for her birthday. The next day passed and it was her birthday

As she went home at night she was surprised with various presents and toys from all of her uncles and aunts, she couldn't help but laugh at the wonderful gifts she had gotten.

"Now, time to pack." Madie raised a brow at North.

"What ya mean uncle?" She smiled.

"It's time to tell you the truth." Tooth face saddens.

There she found out the truth, she was the Princess of Dunbroch. Her real name was Merida Dunbroch and she was hidden away so once the day it came for her 18th birthday, she was cursed to the killed on this day. She was promised by her parents to be brought back home to be back with them.

"YA ALL LIED!" Merida's eyes watered.

"We only wanted to protect you!"

She ran to her room as she cried, she was going to be forced away from Hiccup. She wasn't going to see him anymore. She was going to marry someone she doesn't even know! That was when a noise from her window caught her eye, she lifted her head seeing a horse that was black and sandy, she opened the window almost in a trance. The horse didn't waste any time and ran into the room turning into a spinning wheel. Merida's eyes were glassy and she was in a trance walking to the spinning wheel and pricked her finger causing her to fall into a deep sleep.

Once Tooth came up to Merida's room she gasp seeing Merida on the floor dead asleep, all of the guardians mourned seeing their beloved Princess in a deep sleep. North had Sandy put everyone asleep as they put the Princess into her room letting her sleep there, back in her home. As they all walked over to see everyone sleeping they saw a nightmare there staring at them. That is when Pitch appeared.

"So the guardians failed? How to pity?" Pitch smiled at all of them.

"Pitch, you dirty crook!" Bunny was ready to attack but was stopped by North.

"As much as I would love to stay to chat, but I believe you have other problems to deal with." Pitch smirked.

"What do you mean?" Tooth raised a brow.

"Merida's true love is in trouble." Pitch laughed as he disappeared.

~Hiccup~

Hiccup thought he was going to meet Merida inside, though he thought it was Merida. Once inside he was ambushed by other dragons and various nightmares attacking him. They had Toothless pinned down and this caused him to surrender for the sake of Toothless. He sat inside his cell with his metal leg gone and Toothless chained next to him. He let a frustrated sigh out knowing this was bad. Once Drago revealed he knows Hiccup was talking to the lost Princess Merida he knew he caused the curse to happen.

This lead Drago to follow Merida and allow his curse to happen. He screamed out knowing this was all his fault. Toothless tried to comfort his pal only to be stopped by the chains that held him against the wall.

"Wow, I never thought you'd get yourself in this trouble." Hiccup lifted his head seeing his best friend Jack there climbing the window with Rapunzel on his back.

"Jack? Rapunzel? W-what are you guys doing here?" Hiccup eyes widen.

"We're here to help you out!" Rapunzel smiled.

"Well, we're on a time, since Bunny and they are distracting the nightmares and dragons." Jack pointed outside.

Jack and Rapunzel were quick to heal both Hiccup and Toothless and set them free from their bonds. As Jack help Hiccup to his feet he was able to grab an extra metal leg he had in his saddlebag and put it on. He hopped onto Toothless as Rapunzel climbed on Jack nodded their heads so that way they knew he was ready. All of them headed out attacking the nightmares and to help the rest of the guardians as Hiccup went to finished Drago and his Bewilderbeast. After he defeated Drago, Hiccup road to Dunbroch castle running into Merida's room seeing her there. His face paled seeing her there, as he turned around watching sandy.

"You sure... All I have to do is... Kiss her?" Sandy nodded his head.

Hiccup went to Merida's side as he sat next to her, he smiled as he brushed a loose hair behind her ear. He leaned down and kissed her as he sat back up seeing if anything had changed. Nothing seemed to happen, but then he saw her opened her eyes.

"Merida?" Hiccup smiled.

"Huh? What happened?" She sat up as she rubbed her eyes.

"IT WORKED!" They both turned their heads seeing Tooth jumping with joy.

"What happened?" Merida eyed everyone.

"You don't remember?" Hiccup looked at her.

She crossed her arms over her chest as she scoffed.

"Aye wouldn't be asking would aye?"

"Glad to know your sheila is fine." Bunny smiled.

After that Merida finally got to meet not only her family but her parents, they finally got the relief of having their daughter back without having to worry about Drago anymore. Though one thing didn't sit with Merida, even with Hiccup still sending letters to her. She didn't want to marry someone else. Her mother came into her room notice her gloom face as she dropped the letter in her hand.

"Ya do love him don't ya?" Merida lifted her head as a blush came onto her face. Her mother smiled as she sat next to her running her back.

"Aye already talk to ya father." Merida lifted her head eyes widening.

"He's already made the arrangements." Merida jumped from her bed as she screamed with joy.

Hiccup and Merida had gotten Married and together they became the most fierce royal couple in their kingdom. A few years later they had a son named Eldrid with three daughters, which they introduce to Jack and Rapunzel children.

AN: Pretty much like the prompt, I hope this was to your liking and something you thought of. But yeah thought this kind of fits the prompt since I have no idea if this could be close enough. Plus another excuse to write fanfics for my favorite couples.
