Warning: Body Swap

~Mericcup Month Day 29: Free~

~Merida~

Merida woke up hearing a creek in her bed, strange she thought, she rubbed her eyes as she pulled furs covering her from the cold. She swore she has never had furs on her bed, maybe she's just too tired. As she pulled her body to the side of the bed she took one step and fell onto the floor.

"AH!"

That's not her voice… She doesn't remember having… A whiney… Male voice… One look down she saw or… He… Uh…

"AYE'M MY SOULMATE!" Merida screamed loudly.

"Hiccup? Are you alright?" She heard an older woman's voice.

Hiccup- or… Merida looked towards the door blushing like crazy seeing she wasn't home in her bed. She swapped bodies with her soulmate… Her soulmate…

"Aye'm fine mum!" Merida was quick to speak seeing she didn't want to draw attention to herself.

"Alright, food is ready once you get dressed."

Hic- Merida gulped as she realized she had to change herself, or himself. Looking down to her legs she saw that she only had one leg, she lifted a brow then sadden seeing her soulmate only had one leg.

"Oh…" She spoke softly.

"Wait-... H-he b-better not!" Merida quietly shouted as she looked around trying to fit her soulmates prosthetic leg.

Her eye caught a metal leg leaning next to the bed she was sleeping on, she reached over and grabbed the leg trying her best to put it on. She never had to deal with one leg, so she struggled to figure out how it works. After finally figuring out the leg she stood up carefully getting used to walking on the metal leg. She at first didn't like the feeling but got used to it, as she looked around she didn't find a mirror anywhere.

Letting a sigh out she looked down at herself or… Himself as she looked at her soulmate's body. He was skinny, pretty tall for a man his age, possibly taller than her. Just to… Adding to her curiosity she pulled his shirt up seeing his build abs causing her to blush.

At least… he's… A little built

Merida couldn't stop her face turning red, she dropped her shirt and shook her head as she looked around trying to find a pencil or something to write on. After spotting a desk near her she walked overseeing various drawings of blueprints of sorts. She couldn't help but stare at all of them, one of them seemed to be a saddle of sorts. For a horse? No, it's for something too big for a horse.

"Dragons?" She whispered to herself.

She only heard stories of dragons, even the lords themselves thought they were just myths. What? Dragons? How is it possible that her soulmate knows anything about dragons?

"Aye, lass. Just calm down. J-just… Change and don't look down… T-this isn't going to work." She groaned knowing full well what she will have to see.

She's never seen a man naked before let alone, any man in her life!

"Aye better have a gentleman! Not some perv soulmate!" She threw her arms up in the air.

She wasn't going to make the day go away, she came to his desk for a reason right? She let a frustrated sigh out as she looked for something to write, she saw a charcoal pencil and took it in her hands. She looked for something that would catch his eyes the moment he would wake up, he noticed the one paper in the center was larger than the rest and had a nice space for her to write.

There she wrote her little message for him to read and walked over to where she would only assume his clothes would be at. She quickly changed as to the best of her ability seeing she had to… Try with one leg, and get used to it for a while. After the dread was over, she finally walked to the door, lifted her hand up and stopped. Was she really ready to pretend to be her soulmate?

No, she wasn't… But she had too. Opening the door she saw the stairs to her left and walked down slowly as she was greeted by a black dragon licking her.

"AH!" She yelled as the dragon continued to lick her.

"Oh, Toothless come on. Your food is here."

Toothless lifted his head up as he titled it in confusion seeing his friend Hiccup wasn't acting the way he usually does. He stared to sniff Hiccup then growled as the dragon backed off. Merida was quick to jump to her feet as she saw the older woman stare at her, she eyed her carefully walking in front of Toothless putting a hand up.

"You must be my son's soulmate. Our dragons can tell when someone has swapped with their friend's body." She smiled.

"A-aye…"

"Don't worry dear, I've been through it too. There's nothing to be scared of… Well unless you do something to my sons-"

"N-NO! A-aye didn't do anything aye swear!" She put her hands up as quickly as possible as she blushed.

"Please tell me, aye can leave his body soon." She groaned.

"Haha! Unfortunately no, though there is a way to stop it from happening again." She smiled.

"R-really?" Merida's eyes gleam with hope.

"You two have to meet each other. May I have your name?"

"M-Merida."

"Well Merida, I am Valka. It's nice to… Almost meet you." Valka smiled back.

"W-where am I?" Merida looked around as she noticed how everything was different.

"Berk." Merida's eyes widen at the realization that her soulmate is a Viking.

A Viking.

"Ugh… Aye, see…" Merida rushed her face with her hands.

"Where are you from?" Valka carefully eyed her… Son?

"Dunbroch…" She watched Valka's eyes widen.

"Y-your a highlander!"

"Yes… And ya son is my soulmate." She rolled her eyes.

"It's not that bad, I was expecting worse." Valka had already walked away to the pot to grab food before Merida could ask what she meant.

This went on for the whole day, Merida was able to learn a lot of things about Hiccup. How he's the son of a chief and how his dad was really putting a lot of pressure on him to take over. She honestly felt bad for him, everyone looked up to him to solve a lot of problems, and he never got a break. Along those days came where she would read notes from Hiccup for her to read.

Things like

"Don't get any ideas! Stop writing on my papers! And please take good care of Toothless."

Though she was irritated she didn't let it frustrate her that much, but on this day Hiccup left a note letting her know how far her home was from his and put down a place for the two to meet. Thanks to Valka who was very caring and helpful to Merida she learned how to use Toothless tail and fly over where Hiccup or… Hiccup in her body would meet her.

Though it took some time months even for her to gain Toothless trust every time she swapped with Hiccup's body. It was strange that Valka kept her little secret from everyone and allowed her to keep it that way. But the two landed seeing H-... Uh… Herself pacing back and forth near the shore with a boat that Hiccup used to sail there.

"Great! You're finally here!" Hiccup threw his hands up.

"AYE! It's not easy learning how to fly Toothless when he doesn't trust ya at first!" She glared at herself-... Hiccup?

"Toothless!" Before Merida could switch Hiccup's leg she fell off glaring at the dragon as she saw herself Hugging Toothless.

"Ahhh, bud. Boy did I miss you!" Hiccup smiled.

Toothless was licking Hiccup causing her-.. Uh… Hair to stand as Hiccup groaned out loud.

"Toothless! You know that doesn't wash out!" He scolded him.

Merida had switched her leg and stood up crossing her arms over her chest glaring at the two.

"Aye think that's enough!" She yelled.

Hiccup glared at her back as he crossed his arms over his chest and looked at himself?

"You're in my body." He snapped back.

"So are ya! Perv!" Merida was blushing at this point.

"P-... M-me? I-I didn't-... Look we meet and that should be done and over with!" Hiccup turned around as she rubbed his blushing face.

"So w-what now?" Merida looked away as the two stood there saying nothing.

"W-well were soulmates… That won't change, huh- OW!" Merida turned her head seeing Toothless smack hiccup's head with his tail.

"What was that for?" She couldn't help but let a laugh out.

This caused Hiccup to look over to her and laugh along with her, it was too contagious not to laugh along with her. Maybe Hiccup wasn't as bad as she thought, maybe she could enjoy this moment with him a bit longer.
