AN: Yup I had to write this, I had to do this, and yes I had to make some angst for mericcup XD. Surprise and surprise I haven't done a Hanahaki Disease version of Mericcup. So in this version, it won't be called Hanahaki, it's going to be called Freyr Cursed Flower. Only because it would make sense for a Viking setting.

Warning: Blood/Injury, Angst

~Freyr Cursed Flower~

~Hiccup~

Hiccup sat there staring at the redhead Princess as she let another arrow go hitting her target. He smiled as a blush was faintly showing, she was beautiful, wild, and fierce. Everything he loved about her, he loved how she was and still is. One problem though. He hadn't told her about his true feelings, they had been good friends since they were kids.

"What ya doing Hic?" His eyes caught her blue ones.

He blushed harder as he pulled the book closer to his face, trying his best to hide the blush he was having now.

"N-N-Nothing Princess!" Hiccup stuttered.

He didn't see Merida roll her eyes as she walked up to him sitting next to him.

Hiccup was trying his best to hide his face behind his book as he felt Merida's hands on his shoulders.

"Can aye see?" He couldn't deny her request.

"Y-yes Milady…" Hiccup lowered it down, handed it off to her as she looked through it.

He saw her eyes widen as a smile spread and his heart pounded harder against his chest. Hiccup rubbed the back of his neck as he looked away watching Toothless playing with Angus in the grass.

"It's like aye'm looking in a mirror." He heard her whisper.

"I-I-I'm sorry… I-I can't make it better-"

"No! No! Hiccup… It's wonderful… Ya are amazing at drawing." Merida smiled.

"O-oh… W-well-" She placed a finger on his lips.

"Don't ya ever learn to stop talking?" She smirked.

He didn't say anything.

"Haha, ya funny Hiccup. That's what aye like about ya-"

"Merida!" They turned their heads seeing Elinor riding her horse.

Merida looked back at Hiccup as she sat up and started to walk over. As Hiccup stood up, he slowly made his way over just curious to know what her mother wanted.

"It's time ya should go home." Her eyes sadden.

"What? Why?" Merida crossed her arms together.

"Merida… Ya know aye love ya. But, ya father and aye have set a date for ya marriage." Hiccup's heart stopped.

"What?! B-but-"

"It's done, Merida… Aye'm sorry…" Her mother turned away as she rode back home.

He stood there seeing Merida's hands shook, she turned to Hiccup as he eyed her. She let a sigh out as she turned to him.

"We can still hang out… Right? As friends still?" He felt his chest hurting.

"O-of course Mer… I would do anything for you…" He watched her smile as she called over Angus and rode back home.

She gave him one last goodbye as Hiccup stood there felting something poking at his lungs. He started to cough, Toothless ran over to his side watching his friend cough out blood as Bluebell's pedals came out of his mouth. Bluebells… Those were her favorite.

Toothless flew as fast as he could, he kept hearing Hiccup cough again and again. He was looking worse and worse by the minute. At times he felt Hiccup's body slightly shift to the side as if he would pass out. By the time they finally arrived at Berk it was nighttime and Hiccup had fallen off of Toothless. Toothless licked his friend's face getting nothing.

"Hiccup!" Toothless saw Astrid running over helping him up as she and Toothless took Hiccup over to Gothi's place.

As Gothi looked over Hiccup, Astrid ran out to go get Stoick and Valka and all three of them quickly burst into the house seeing their son's state.

"Gothi, please tell me something!" Stoick pleaded.

Gothi looked to the ground as she shook her head, she took her stick and wrote on the floor to let them know what was happening.

"Freyr Cursed Flower?" Valka's eyes widen in fear.

"N-no!" Astrid cried.

"There has to be something!" Valka screamed.

Gothi wrote something else down and looked up to her chief as he saw the fear in his eyes.

"N-no! I-I… I can't do that to him!" Stoick cried.

"What?" His wife looked down and read what Gothi had said.

"Remove the-... He would be-... He-..."

"I know what it means, Valka… He would no longer… He wouldn't have feelings anymore…" Tears brimmed his eyes.

"No! I will not do that to him! There must be another way!" She looked back at Gothi.

Gothi wrote something down as she pointed at it, and shook her head.

"Only the person that has my son's heart can cure him?" Gothi nodded.

"We can find out! There, that's the other way." She looked up to her husband hopefully.

"The only question is who." Stoick looked back at their son.

Without needing to ask anything, they heard Hiccup coughing as he sat up and coughed up even more blood and bluebells pedals out. Valka was quick to come next to Hiccup, rubbing his back as she stared in horror. Stoick came to his other side ready to help out when he could.

After sometime Hiccup was able to finally lay down, his face turning pale as he smiled at his dad.

"H-h… Hey… Dad…" His voice sounded weak.

"Hiccup! Son, let us help you."

"H-help… Me? I-I… Can't… Help…" Hiccup laughed at himself.

"Hiccup! You stubborn muttonhead! Just tell us who you love!" Astrid screamed.

"Astrid? Oh… You're here…" Hiccup smiled.

"You-"

"Astrid." Stoick stopped her.

Astrid stood up as she stomped her way outside leaving the Haddock family be.

"What?" Valka looked over to her husband.

Stoick picked up one of the pedals as he turned it, he looked back at his wife and she nodded her head knowing what this meant.

~Merida~

Merida was in her room as she couldn't believe that, she would be married by tomorrow. She wanted to go for a morning ride to clear her head as she felt a pain in her chest. She knew what this pain meant, she felt it seeing the look on Hiccup's face when he heard her mother telling her she was going to get married.

She would always feel this whenever Hiccup was upset, she loved Hiccup. But Hiccup had never made any moves or said anything to tell her he felt the same. She shook her head, going down the stairs that is when she saw her parents talking to a very distraught Stoick.

Merida stopped her feet. Her heart stopped. She heard the words, Hiccup, is, dying. She didn't even ask, she ran to Skullcrusher and hopped onto him waiting for Stoick.

"Let's go!" Merida yelled.

Stoick was shocked, but he quickly hopped on, not bothered by Merida's parents' calls as they rode back to Berk.

After finally getting to Berk, Merida ran to the Haddock house as she burst the door open seeing no one downstairs. She ran up the stairs remembering where Hiccup's room was at and slammed the door open. Her feet couldn't move. It was like staring at a dying corpse.

"M-Merida?" Valka's eyes were still watery.

"H-hiccup?" Her eyes watered.

She slowly walked over sitting next to hand, as she placed her hand onto his. She cried as she couldn't believe this was happening.

"This is all my fault!" She cried.

"Dear, you didn't kn-"

"No! Aye should have noticed! Aye knew something was up when he-... Hiccup was always there for me… Aye can't lose him…" Merida cried.

"M-Mer?" Merida stopped as she scooted closer to Hiccup.

"H-hiccup? Ya daft lamb, aye'm here." She cried.

"I-I thought…"

"Tell me who ya love… So aye can save ya…" Merida smiled.

"What?"

"Hiccup! YA DYING!" She screamed.

"O-ow… D-do you… Care?"

"What? Of course-... What made ya think aye didn't?" Merida stared at his green eyes.

"Y-you-" He started to cough again, blood came out and the same pedals came out.

She gasped as she noticed the flowers he was coughing up. Bluebells.

"No! Aye can't lose ya! A-aye… Aye love ya, ya daft lamb!" She cried.

"What?" He stared at her.

She didn't say anything.

"M-mer… What… What did you say?"

"Aye love ya…"

He coughed again, this time there wasn't any blood. There weren't any more pedals, after finishing she coughed out fully grown bluebells that shriveled afterward. Valka cried with joy seeing her son was cured of the curse and was happy at last.

"Y-you love me?" Hiccup looked back at her.

"Yes… A-aye-" She felt his lips pressed against hers.

Her eyes widened as she couldn't believe what was happening, she saw him pull away.

"I love you too, Mer."

"I think it's time to let him rest." Merida felt her arm being pulled as she stood up with Valka.

Merida couldn't let her eyes leave his as the two of them walked out of the room.

"Don't look at me like that." Hiccup stared at her as Merida was glaring at him.

"Ya could have told me!" She scolded him.

"W-well… I didn't think you felt the same…" Hiccup rubbed the back of his neck.

"Why?" She raised a brow.

"W-well… You said we were friends…"

"Oh… Aye… A-aye thought ya didn't like me…" Merida looked away.

"Of course I love you Mer."

"Aye love ya too ya daft lamb." She stood from her chair as she climbed on top of Hiccup.

"A-ah… M-M-Mer… I-I'm supposed to be r-resting…" He was blushing.

"Aye know… Aye don't care." She kissed him, and he gave him.
