Alexa sat at her bar stool in L'Amour, staring idly into nothingness as she finished off the last of a shrimp cocktail. She then picked up a glass of wine, and swirled it around before taking a sip.
The wide brim of her black velvet hat practically overshadowed her face. Her claws were black, shiny, and freshly sharpened. Instead of her usual fitted dress, she wore black pants with tall, slender black leather boots over them, and a black blazer. Elegant and poised as usual; yet cautious.
Just then, she looked up, her ears twitched under her hat, and a scent hit her nose; an all too familiar scent. Her senses awakened, and she took a quick glance behind her. "Well…" Alexa sighed deeply as she picked up her glass of wine again. "It was fun while it lasted." She muttered to herself, then drank down the rest of the wine, which garnered attention from the barkeep, especially as she stood up.
"Leaving early tonight Madame Merino?" the bartender asked curiously as he took her glass.
"I'm afraid so Jacques." She pulled some neatly folded cash from her pocket and set it on the bar. "For all of your wonderful service."
Jacques took the money, and soon realized it was much more than she owed. He looked at her in surprise; though it shouldn't have surprised him, she was always a generous tipper. "See you tomorrow night Madame?"
Alexa simply smiled slightly, making her fangs just visible. "Take care of yourself Jacques." She then gracefully turned and walked out of the bar.
Jacques watched her leave, then looked at the cash in his hand. "Sacre bleu…" he said to himself with a smile.
Alexa exited the upscale bar via one of the side exits, then began walking down the street.
The night air in Paris was fresh with the scent of a rainfall that occurred a couple of hours ago. Scents of baguettes, rain, and exhaust filled the air. Her ears twitched at every sound; from the cars zipping by, to heels clicking across the pavement.
Alexa took in the scents of the night; every, scent. She smirked slightly, and turned a corner, towards a more secluded street, near an alley.
As she turned the corner, she took off her hat, and tossed it behind her.
Victor was furiously on the hunt. He stalked through the streets, pushing past other pedestrians, focusing on just one goal; Alexa.
As he neared L'Amour, he stopped briefly and took a deep breath. That scent; that glorious scent; it had been far too long. Feeling that much closer, he picked up his pace.
It wasn't long before Victor reached L'Amour. He was about to go in, when the breeze brought the scent, and it was strong. Nose practically in the air, he turned away from the bar, and began heading down another street.
When he turned the corner, he looked up ahead and saw a black hat sitting in the middle of the street, casually; almost as if it belonged there.
Victor walked over to it, and picked it up. Her scent rushed into his nostrils and his heart raced; she was close. He looked around quickly, and took off after her newly strengthened scent.
Alexa took carefully placed steps down the cobblestone alley, hips swaying elegantly as she did. After a few moments, she stopped, and a small smirk crossed her face. "You're quick."
Victor stood at the end of the alley behind her, holding the wide-brimmed black velvet hat. He dropped it. "I told you I'd find you, no matter where you went…"
Alexa nonchalantly turned around, hands in the pockets of her bell-sleeved jacket, as she looked at him. "And so you did." She shrugged. "Now what, Mr. Creed?"
Victor took a couple of steps towards her. "You know what." His steel blue/grey eyes stared her down. "I told you…you belong to me."
Alexa stood her ground. "And as I told you…I belong to no one."
Victor went to charge after her, but Alexa extended her claws, and hissing, leapt up just as Victor was about to grab her. With a swift kick, she knocked him face down, then slashed her claws across the back of his neck.
He winced in pain as the scratches healed, but still moved to grab her. Instead, he missed her entirely and collided with the wall.
Alexa smiled with a slight laugh. "Just like old times."
Victor growled as he turned to her. "You're only making this harder on yourself."
Alexa glared at him. "I beg to differ." This time she charged after him, catching his face with her claws numerous times.
Though Victor was without a doubt stronger, Alexa was much quicker.
They engaged in their feral feline battle up and down the alley, until Victor finally tripped her up, and grabbed Alexa by the neck, and slammed her up against a brick wall.
"Enough!" he growled, breathing heavily, his grip firmly on her throat.
Alexa smirked. "Oh, did that bother you?"
Victor stepped closer, leaning into her, body practically pressed against hers. "I warned you about running from me."
"I never ran. The island exploded; I left." She glared at him. "You didn't expect me to wait for you, did you?" she mocked. "My big, bad bodyguard."
Victor glared back at her. "You weren't supposed to go that far."
"I will always go where I want, and do what I want." Alexa retorted defiantly.
Victor looked her over, lust taking over his expression. "And so will I." he leaned into her neck, taking in her scent. "You remember what I've done…" his beard grazed her neck. "…and what I'll do again."
Alexa fought the urge to pull away; she knew it would do no good. His voice and proximity was getting to her; just like it always did. As much as she hated him, there was something strangely enticing about her pursuer. But, she was determined to fight against it. "I remember nothing." she said defiantly.
Victor brushed some of her long, jet black hair away from her neck. "Let me remind you." He then leaned in, and sank his fangs into her neck.
Alexa closed her eyes tightly, and clenched her fists around his arms, riding out the unique wave of pain and euphoria that coursed through her body.
Before long, Victor pulled back, licking his lips of the little bit of blood that seeped out as it healed. "I'm not letting you go again." His voice was deep and low.
Alexa smirked. "I know lover." She then suddenly leaned forward and kissed him.
Victor was caught off guard, but reveled in the feeling of finally being close to her again; this elusive, unique creature that somehow managed to captivate him.
Alexa eventually pulled back. Licking her lips briefly, she leaned into his ear and whispered. "But that's not your choice."
Before Victor could process what she said, he felt an all too familiar sharp pain in the side of his neck, and his body suddenly went limp.
Alexa looked down as Victor collapsed to the ground. She then looked at her wrist, and adjusted the small dagger that she kept concealed in her long bell sleeve.
She looked at him for a moment as he laid motionless on the pavement. "When you wake, I'll be gone." She rolled him over with her foot. "I told you two things lover; pressure points…my father taught me well, and…" She leaned in and whispered. "I belong to no one."
She then walked to the end of the alley, picked up her velvet hat and dusted it off. She put it back on her head, and after glancing back, sauntered off into the night.
