Chapter 2

Days have passed and Scottie thought the case would be easy. The other side doesn't want to settle and if she doesn't do something about it they might go to trial. She needs to ask someone for help.

"What the hell Scottie, I thought we agreed not to tell anyone?" Donna called Scottie right away when she found out.

"I figured she came to you?" Scottie answered Donna's call which she is expecting anyways.

"Yes! Samantha did! Soon enough Harvey will find out about this!" Donna was furious as to why Scottie told Samantha. She can definitely sue Scottie for telling Samantha but it isn't really something she would do. She knows Scottie has a reason behind it.

"Donna! You trusted me to settle this case which means you need to trust me when I say we need Samantha's help on this and she promised she won't tell Harvey"

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to lash out. It's just been stressful lately. But okay Scottie, I told you I would trust you on this and I will" Donna ended the call.

She decided to go to the rooftop to get some fresh air and think. With the case going on, her work and keeping a secret from Harvey, the past few days has been so stressful. Going to the rooftop helps her think and get focused.

"Haven't seen you much lately"

"Harvey" Donna didn't expect Harvey to come up. He rarely goes to the rooftop, as far as she knows, but like Harvey said, they haven't really hanged out recently so she doesn't know what's going on with him lately.

" Tough day?" Harvey asked.

"Something like that. Why are you here?"

"Just need to clear my head for a case I'm working on"

"You have a thing for rooftops now?" Donna asked innocently but also making the conversation light between them

"Scotch doesn't help anymore" Harvey joked and Donna chuckled. She misses this. Them being able to joke around each other. They stayed silent for a little longer. Just being there with each other and keeping each other company as they both clear their heads.

"Well I need to go back, or else I'll be here til midnight" Donna didn't really need to go back but being alone with Harvey longer is something she can't do right now especially that she's keeping something from him.

"Harvey" She was already walking towards the door when she called out. She turned around one last time "You got this. You always do and I have faith in you" It wasn't a lie. She knows how great of a lawyer he is. After working with him for 13 years, she knows he just needs a little push.

"Thanks Donna." It was a simple thank you but it really meant something. Donna's confidence in him is something that he counts on especially on days where he's stuck on a case.

It wasn't long until Donna realizes that she can't keep it from Harvey anymore. Seeing him at the rooftop made her realize that. She waited for days until Harvey's case was over before telling him.

She was staring at New York's skyline at his office when Harvey came in.

"Donna. What can I do for you?"

"How's your case?" Donna knows the case was over but she doesn't really know how it turned out, but knowing Harvey, deep inside she knows he won. Donna turned around to ask Harvey. She just wanted this conversation to be over with as soon as possible.

"It's good it's over. Time to celebrate!" Harvey was already getting the tumbler for the two of them. Just like the old times, they break a scotch after winning a case to celebrate. They clicked the glasses and drink. She may need the scotch before telling him the case after all.

"Before I forget, what did you need? You didn't really come here to ask me about my case" Harvey was already sitting at his desk.

"What if I did" Donna teased and Harvey tilted his head to the side and gave her that look that he knows she's lying. Donna handed him the folder about her case.

"Jesus! Donna we need to get you out of this!" Harvey was already thinking of all the ways to do it. He'll do anything to get Donna out of trouble, no questions asked.

"That's the thing Harvey, Scottie and Samantha are working on it" Donna said it looking down. She can't look at Harvey. Harvey on the other hand just stared at her not knowing what to say.

"Why?" That's all he's managed to ask. He was furious. Why is it Scottie and Samantha? Why didn't she go to him? He doesn't really know what his why means, but he felt a bit betrayed.

Donna thought the only way to end this sooner is tell Harvey the reason why right away.

"Thomas" That's all she blurted out. Harvey doesn't understand but Donna was reading him as usual. She knows he doesn't understand.

"He didn't want you to take my case…but not because you're a bad lawyer..I uhmm I told him about us."

"13 years ago?" Harvey asked.

Donna nodded and added, " And the kiss"

"During Paula" Harvey finished her sentence and asked "Did you tell him that there's nothing –"

"I did" Donna cut him off.

Harvey sighed. "Well I didn't take him to be the jealous type"

"I didn't either" Donna smiled shyly and looked down. She really didn't take Thomas to be a jealous type of man. But she didn't want to take the risk of losing Thomas. She likes him and she cares about him.

"Well Scottie and Samantha are great lawyers. You're in good hands Donna" Harvey means it. He knows the two are great lawyers and will definitely get Donna out of it. It's just that it should've been him taking and winning her case. He'd do anything for her. Hell the things he did for her during the Liberty Rail case. Even if he had to do it a hundred times he's do it again and he means it, because it's Donna. He can't fully accept the fact that he can't fight for her case now just because of Thomas.

"Thanks Harvey"

"I didn't do anything" Even if he wanted to so badly.

"No, but thank you for understanding"

"Of course. I know how much he means to you" With that Donna left his office. Harvey realized how serious this relationship is, and all he can do is to understand and accept it. But it bothered him but it doesn't mean anything. Or does it? It was always the same feeling whenever Donna's dating someone. Is it still normal to feel that way, after all these years?
