Itachi was sitting on the chair watching the first of the snow fall gently from the sky. His mind had moved from the beautiful scene before him to a less pleasant thought. He thought of his last girlfriend the woman he loved, it was snowing and just as cold when they broke up. He stilled cared for her but he knew it wouldn't of been right to keep playing with her heart.
"Itachi?" a voice broke through the black quietness. He only titled his in the direction of his bed room, a woman at the door. She wore his shirt it was much too large for her small frame but it fit her beautiful, walking slowly to him and crawled on to his lap, "are you alright?" she questioned kissing his color bone.
Itachi was shirtless wearing only his pajama bottoms for the top the woman wore, wrapping his arms around her waist he kept her in place, "nothing just thinking over things," he wasn't sure how Yuki would handle the news of his last girlfriend.
She did know of her and at times tired hanging out with his ex but sadly nothing seemed to change. Mai was much too stubborn and proud to accept Yuki's friendship. Knowing the stoic woman she probably saw the friendship as an act of pity, something she didn't need in life.
Yuki kissed Itachi's neck again warming up his cold body, "You are so cold," she looked at him worried her eyes soft and longing. It was a look he waited to for years, waited for her to just look at him, see him and he could claim her as his. The room was quiet again Itachi adjusted his girlfriend so was she as sitting more comfortably on his lap.
Watching the snow neither spoke a word Itachi was still lost in thought. He should call her see if she was doing fine and not drinking herself to death, "What is today?" Itachi questioned finally his hand messaging the flesh on Yuki's butt. Was it the today? The day, he broke the young woman's heart when she needed him the most.
"The first of October," Yuki answered gently, "Almost our one year anniversary," her giggle helped him relax, he kissed the top of her head his nostrils filled with the faint scent of Apples and Iris and his recent shampoo and bodywash.
"You have to bring your own hair care products here sometimes," Itachi stated getting up, he placed Yuki on the couch, "I am going to make a phone call," he answered quickly noticing Yuki's worried glance. She had clung to his pants but let go, she was just going to believe him.
"We can watch the snow fall?" she questioned her voice showing a bit of excitement. Itachi kissed her temple in agreement before leaving to the kitchen and calling a number he hadn't dialed in a while. He just calling to see if she was alright, to see if she found someone important. He pulled out a cigarette stick and placed it between the lips and lit it.
He thought of all the situations that could happen she would be angry he knew that for sure. The toxic fumes filled his lungs, his brain started working on over time. She wouldn't be happy most likely hang up after the first ring before calling to see why he called.
He wasn't shocked that was exactly what happened, as soon as he said his name she hung up, a few seconds later she called again. She was curious why her would call so late in the evening when should be having a romantic date with his girlfriend. She wasn't even shy when Itachi answered his phone.
"What the fuck do you want?" she questioned, "ready to leave your princess to come and fuck me?" she hid the fact that she was still hurting. He thought about it the break-up was harsh they were things he couldn't understand about her things he never will. He glanced at the room Yuki was at waiting for him to come back, harsher realization why they would never work out.
"No," he whispered quietly.
"Than what the fuck do you want?" she hissed again her words coming out bitter. He smirked a bit not shocked with how pissed off she was becoming, in some ways he found it enduring. She was always ready for a fight putting up her walls in defense she would hate him for this call.
"I am just checking up on you," Itachi said, he let out a puff of nicotine into the air. Yuki would be upset with him but he needed the stress reliever and this was his home, though he was just thinking about the cigarette he knew she would be upset about this conversation.
"I don't need your pity call Uchiha," she growled back in self-defense. For a second Itachi was curious if she still had feelings for him still loved him like she did before the whole break up. He wasn't going to lie he still cared for her deeply, she was important part of his life. She didn't hang up in way Itachi knew it was true.
"I am not calling you out of pity," Itachi stated finally, "It is to see how you are doing? Yuki is doing fine but she can't cook to save her life I miss your cooking, how is your sister?" he let out another puff into the air he wanted to keep the conversation light.
He could hear Yuki shuffling around in the living room waiting for him. She poked her head out the door to glance at Itachi's back, he was taking too long. She was more nervous that he was on the phone talking to someone she didn't know who.
"I am fine," she growled not sure how to answer the comment, "My sister is fine as well she sees your girlfriend around," she sounded too gruff about that unpleased with the thought, "says it looks like you two fit,"
Itachi felt a stab of guilt but hid it by giving Yuki a small smile motioning for her to head to the room. She glanced nervously but ran to the room, he eyed her lushes legs in temptation before going back to the conversation, "what about you? You sister said you were hanging around someone as well wouldn't say who,"
He hid the jealousy she shouldn't be jealous after all Mai found someone she would be happy with, "Is it that guy that you used to smoke with," he couldn't hid how displeased he was in his voice. Was he jealous? It seemed stupid and selfish.
"yeah," her voice turned challenging, "what is it too you," even if she couldn't see it Itachi put his hands up in defense.
"Nothing," he whispered smashing is cigarette in the ash tray it was half way done. "Glad you are happy,"
She grunted, "Itachi I have to go, you have you girlfriend to tend to," there was a long pause before she spoke again, "Thanks for calling," she quickly hung up the phone. Itachi chuckled again he could only imagine Mai red in cheeks shutting off the phone and throwing in her room. He was going to apologize when saw her again or Kiku.
He walked back to his room and sat on his bed and kissed Yuki's soft plumb lips. She stared at him worried more evident in eyes, "who did you talk to?" she questioned her hand going around his wrist, "was she an important friend?"
"Yes," Itachi whispered deepening the kiss. Yuki pushed away to stare into his dark eyes she brushed the bangs from his face, "she was an ex…old girlfriend," it seemed too rude for him to call her an ex she was more than that. He ignored the look of concern in his girlfriend's eyes, "I broke up with a year ago today,"
"Why?" Yuki didn't move closer to Itachi she sat on his bed and stared out the window, "why did you two break up?" the snow was turning into a blizzard outside it would be difficult to leave the house tomorrow. He moved into the bed and covered him and Yuki up.
He couldn't tell Yuki the whole truth she would hate herself if she ever knew why the couple broke up. He stared at the skylight he instead a couple of years ago to watch the stars, he was now watching the snow fall. There was something so pretty about it, so innocent, so pure. He didn't answer Yuki's question he was just thinking about how to answer it.
"We saw things differently," he answered quietly "she preferred her fist, as a way to get people to respect her. I couldn't sit well with that," he pushed Yuki closer to him hiding his face in her raven hair her scent was the only thing keeping him from falling into the pit of guilt, "The break up was harsh," he wasn't going to talk about it, "she deserved better,"
"I hate when you smoke," Yuki said resting her head on his shoulders, "you stink after smoking," she was pouting, her hand was on her stomach stroking it "it means something is bothering you, it is bad for…" she didn't finish before Itachi titled her chin so he could capture his lips with hers, "tell me more about Mai," she didn't have to ask who the old girlfriend was. Yuki met Mai before spoke to her but the girls couldn't get close.
"Mai is stubborn," Itachi laughed, "she is hard head if you say one thing wrong about her, her first will come in contact with your face." He shook his head at memory of their first meeting, he accidently let it slip that violent woman weren't attractive. She nearly punched him in defense, "She wasn't shy to say the first thing on your mind but enjoyed cursing. She felt like it was the quickest way for her point to get across," he went deep in thought, thinking more about his ex, "Still with all anger she needed protection someone that would watch over her, she wanted to feel loved and liked a woman," Yuki shifted in his arms her womanly form pressed against him, "She lived a life that was either flight or fight, it was only her and sister in foster care, I guess she knew she had to defend her sister protect her. She stayed strong for the people she cared about so she wouldn't be a burden on anybody underneath that scowl was very pretty girl, that had loyalty and loved her sister more then you could imagine,"
Yuki's eyes met Itachi his soft whispers the only sound between him. She smiled when he was done and got a bit hovering over him, "Itachi," she whispered lightly nibbling on his lips, "you are an amazing man, Mai was lucky to have met you," Itachi pushed her closer his fingers tangling with her hair.
"I don't feel like it," Itachi said pushing away.
Yuki pushed away, "Then you are a better man because you met her Itachi, she made you so much stronger," she paused and looked to the sky, "I am grateful for her, she made you stronger kinder and more pleasant to be with," she smiled, "I will thank her someday for allowing me to have you,"
Itachi smiled, "you are stuck in my house, for a day," Itachi motioned to the blizzard outside, "no school or work, we will be alone for a while,"
Yuki blushed and got off from Itachi her hand on her stomach, "we aren't alone," she rubbed her belly. Itachi caught the motion, "We have a third party," she looked lovingly at the thought her smile beaming.
"When did you find out?" Itachi questioned getting up, he was staring at Yuki's dark eyes he felt just as excited as her. He kissed her lips lightly.
"This morning, I woke up sick this morning my stomach hurt I ran to the bathroom. Ian thought it was a bug but a bug doesn't last a few days does it?" She looked away, "so I went to my doctors and I have been five weeks in," she clapped her hands, "Itachi we will be parents,"
Itachi smiled and kissed Yuki's lips, "and husband and wife," he spoke. Yuki squealed and hugged him tighter, both of them watching the snow fall.
