Earlier that night at the firm….
"Scottie, good you're here we can prepare for the trial tomorrow" Donna thought Scottie showed up at her office to practice her statements.
"We actually figured out a way to settle so we're not really going to trial" Scottie explained.
"Scottie, good you're here" Samantha showed up at Donna's office too.
"So you're telling me you guys figure out a way, the day before the trial?" Donna senses something else is going on.
"Yes Donna" Samantha answered.
"What exactly happened?" Donna was curious as a cat to know how they got to settle when they've been working hard on the case and knowing that the other party doesn't really want to back down.
Samantha and Scottie couldn't answer.
"You didn't do anything dirty didn't you?!"
"Donna of course not!" Samantha answered. Scottie handed Donna the envelope that came from Harvey which he got from Vanessa.
"It was actually the other party that did something dirty and we used it as a leverage" Scottie explained.
"So tell me which one of you uses Vanessa now?!" Donna questioned them. She knows the envelope so well. After working for Harvey for so many years, she knows when a document comes from Vanessa. It always enclosed in a distinct special black envelope.
"I guess there's really no point in lying to you…he helped Donna. He couldn't just watch knowing you're in trouble you know that" Scottie finally told her the truth.
Donna couldn't really get mad at Scottie and Samantha because she knows the two only did it to help her.
"Okay. Thank you, Samantha and Scottie, for everything. We're quits now"
"It wasn't really me Donna" Scottie said.
"I know but still"
"Well in that case we're quits now. But Donna, not that I wish you get in trouble but if you do, I'm here" Scottie said.
"Thanks Scottie"
Samantha and Scottie left Donna's office.
"How about we grab a drink and celebrate that this case got settled. On me, afterall I still owe you for me not going to prison too" Scottie invited Samantha.
"Oh my god yes I need a drink! See I don't know what's more complicated, the case or Donna AND Harvey" Samantha said innocently. Forgetting for a moment that Scottie and Harvey had a relationship.
"Shit sorry I didn't mean to…" Samantha explained. "I heard you and Harvey had a –"
Scottie cut her off. "It's okay Samantha. That was ages ago and I actually agree with you about Donna and Harvey"
At the bar…
"When I first saw them, I actually thought they were together. They're just so protective of each other!" Samantha obviously had so much drinks that she's still blabbering about Harvey and Donna in front of Scottie. She knows it's not her business but after taking Donna's case, it bothers her, the way Harvey and Donna act around each other.
"Oh believe me, I even asked Donna if she's in love with him and she said no. Bullshit! The hell she isnt'!" Scottie has never talked about Donna and Harvey to anyone. This is a first that she's telling someone what she thinks about the two. It's probably the liquor in her system that's making her to.
"Was Donna the reason?" Samantha asked.
Scottie took a deep breath. "Maybe it was".
Harvey can never fully share everything with her but with Donna, she knows everything about him. He doesn't have a problem sharing with her, he tells her everything. Maybe Harvey liked her but with Donna in the picture, she probably never stood a chance at all.
Like she said to Donna, she wishes that he sees what everyone sees.
