Kara walked into the elevator with her head hanging below her shoulders. She was exhausted after the alien fight earlier and she had a headache and all she wanted to do was go home and sleep. Alex had offered for her to sleep over, but of course she felt guilty for imposing on her and Maggie's time. Kara cared so much about Maggie and she knew how much Maggie cared about her. She really wanted things between Maggie and Alex to work out so she thought that giving them as much time alone together as possible would benefit them. Although Kara really did want to stay over. She just wanted to cuddle with Alex and Maggie. Kara was so lost in her own thoughts that she didn't notice the strange man lurking in the corner of the elevator before she felt a sting in her left arm. Through blurring vision she could make out the veins in her left arm glowing green and the face of a man. She stumbled backward, trying to regain her composure, but before long her eyelids became heavy and she succumbed to the darkness, falling in an unconscious heap on the elevator floor.

"Long time no see, Kara," Rick said as he carried her body out of the elevator and threw her in the back of his car, bound and gagged. He drove through the still night, occasionally checking the rearview mirror to make sure Kara remained unconscious, which she did for the duration of the car ride. As he arrived at his destination, Rick carried Kara to a strange cell, tossing her in and removing her restraints. He's not a monster, after all, but some precautions would be needed. Rick fastened some sort of electronic collar around Kara's neck, pressing the small button on the back to activate it. Rick seemed pleased with his handiwork, humming to himself as he pressed some buttons on his tablet and the cell glowed a neon green. Kryptonite. Rick took one last look at an unconscious Kara, humming to himself as he walked out of the room.

Alex paced around her apartment. She should go find Kara, tell her to stay over. Especially because she probably blew out her powers in the fight earlier. Alex knows Kara didn't really want to go home and that she isn't feeling well, and now she feels guilty for not being there for Kara. Alex finally stopped her pacing to collapse onto the couch, sighing heavily and rubbing her palms across her face.

Maggie came out of the bathroom, and having gotten pretty good at reading Alex, slowly made her way over to the couch. She kneeled in front of her girlfriend, putting her hands on her knees and rubbing her leg softly. "You want to tell me what's going on?"

Alex draped her own hands over Maggie's, interlacing their fingers. "I should go check on Kara, at least offer to stay with her in her apartment if she really doesn't want to stay here. I know her, Mags. I know she wasn't feeling well and she only left because she's too sweet for her own good, feeling like she was imposing on our time together. And don't get me wrong I love spending time with you but Kara-"

"Alex," Maggie cut her off, "I understand. We spend plenty of time together, and I love Little Danvers. I'd be happy to let you go stay with her or even go with you."

"Really?" Alex has never been so in love. A girl who's pretty, badass, and loves Kara? She's her perfect match.

"Really," Maggie says resolutely. "Let's go check on Kara and force her into our impromptu sleepover." Maggie smiles at the same time Alex does.

Alex leans down to kiss her girlfriend. "Thank you so much. I love you," Alex says when they break apart.

Maggie's not done as she kisses Alex again, playfully biting her bottom lip. "I love you, too," Maggie responds.

The pair gather their things and make their way into the elevator, not noticing the cracked syringe lying on the floor.

-00-

Kara woke up with double the headache she had earlier. She slowly opened her eyes and sat up against the wall. The first thing she noticed was the kryptonite, causing pain to burn throughout her body and causing her to feel sick, even just sitting on the floor. And no powers, that's a plus. And was she wearing a dog collar? What Kara noticed next was that the top of her cell was opened, like a chain-link fence material, while the rest of it was glass, sealed water tight. Well at least she could breathe. The last thing she noticed was the strange, large pipe coming out of one of the walls. A big water pipe? She would concern herself with that later. Then Kara noticed her biggest problem: her clothes. She wasn't wearing her Supergirl suit, but rather the sweatpants and hoodie Alex had leant her. Whoever kidnapped Kara knew her identity. Kara's mind immediately began racing with the worst thoughts of Alex, Maggie, J'onn, Winn, and everyone else she loved. No. This is not the place to panic. She would have to keep it together. Kara's spiral was interrupted by a voice she knew but couldn't place.

"Ah. Glad to see you're awake," Rick said as he emerged from the shadows, walking up to the front of Kara's cell.

Kara knew that face. She knew that face from some of her first years on earth. "Rick?"

"So you do remember me." Rick's lips split into a smug grin. "Good."

Kara's never been so confused. She stood up, slowly, and walked over to the front of the cell, making eye contact with her abductor. "What are you doing Rick?"

"What am I doing? That's a vague question," he said, never breaking eye contact with Kara. "I'm doing what I have to. I'm getting my dad out of Prison."

"What are you talking about? What is it you have to do?"

"I know who you are, Supergirl. You're a disease. I don't know what Alex ever saw in you or why she ever loved you like family."

Kara just continued to stare at him. She was at a loss for words.

"In case you haven't figured it out by now," he continued, "I'm using you as bait. It's quite simple really. All Agent Danvers and her detective friend have to do is give me access to the prison. I go in there, I get my dad, and we leave." Rick took a step closer to Kara's cell, still never breaking eye contact. "Now here's where you come in. If they don't give me what I want, I'll kill you. I would hate for Agent Danvers to lose her precious little sister."

"Do whatever you want to me. Alex is better than that. You're father's a convicted murderer and they'll never let him out." Kara straightened her posture and kept her eyes locked with Rick's trying to appear confident, when really she was terrified.

"If you say so. Bye for now. I'll get in contact with Alex soon. You don't go anywhere while I'm gone," Rick said, walking away from Kara's cell and back into the darkness he emerged from, stopping just at the edge of the doorway. "And by the way, don't bother trying to break out of the collar. You'll only hurt yourself," he said, walking out of the room. Kara let out a pained sigh, really feeling the effects of the Kryptonite now. She slowly made her way back over to the wall, sitting down and leaning up against it. She just sat there, staring into space, hoping Alex and Maggie were ok.

-00-

Alex and Maggie walked towards Kara's apartment door, setting their bags down in front of it.

"Kara," Alex said, softly knocking on the door. "I'm sorry if I woke you. Maggie and I just wanted to make sure you're ok." Alex waited for a response and Maggie gave her a concerned look when she got nothing.

Maggie tried this time. "Little Danvers? We brought blankets and came to snuggle."

Again, nothing.

"Kara? Come on, let us in." It was then that Alex lowered herself to the floor and noticed that the apartment was completely pitch black. Kara never sleeps with every single light off. Alex knows the darkness reminds Kara of her time in the phantom zone.

"Something isn't right, Maggie. Back up. I'm gonna kick the door in." Maggie backed up as Alex braced herself and kicked open the door. Maggie immediately pulled her gun, ready for any threat that might come her or Alex's way. As the 2 women walked into the apartment, Alex flipped on the light switch.

"Kara?" Maggie called, making her way into the bedroom to find an empty bed and a supersuit on the chair next to it. "Babe?" Maggie called as Alex came walking into the bedroom. "Was Kara wearing her supersuit when she came for dinner?" Maggie handed Alex the suit, as Alex held it gently, looking up at Maggie and shaking her head no. "And there's no way she's at the DEO. She never goes there without her suit," Alex said sadly. Both women felt their stomachs drop. Kara's been kidnapped. Kara's been taken. Kara's in trouble.

"What do we do?" Maggie said, panicked. "As far as we know she could've been taken from our building or she could've been taken off the road or-"

Maggie's spiral was interrupted by Alex's phone. She received a text message from a blocked number. "If you want to see your sister alive again, meet me at this address in 1 hour. 1355 Adamson Street, Room 22."

Tears welled in Alex's eyes as she showed Maggie the message. Maggie let out a small gasp.

"I know that address. That's an abandoned motel. It's not too far from our apartment building," Maggie said, looking away from the message and back at Alex. That's when Maggie noticed the tears flowing down her cheeks.

"I...I never should have let her leave our apartment," Alex said, voice quiet and shaky, as she slowly looked up at Maggie, tears still falling out of her eyes. "It's my fault."

Maggie wiped a stray tear off her own cheek before taking Alex's face in her hands. "This is not your fault," she said softly. "Whoever the asshole is that took Kara will pay." Maggie thumbed the tears off Alex's cheek.

Alex nodded and leaned into Maggie's touch, closing her eyes and taking a deep breath. "Let's not tell J'onn about this."

Maggie nodded softly. "Come on. We should probably go change out of our pajamas," Maggie said, chuckling a little. This pulled a small smile from Alex as she took Maggie's hands in her own. Maggie gave them a soft squeeze as she led Alex out of Kara's apartment.

Alex and Maggie quickly arrived home, changing into more appropriate clothing, Maggie in her pants and leather jacket and Alex in her DEO tactical gear. Alex grabbed her gun as Maggie reloaded hers. They made eye contact, both giving eachother a firm nod as they got into Maggie's car and made a beeline for the motel.

-00-

Alex and Maggie walked up to the door of room 22 right on schedule, both women holding their guns at their hips, ready for action. Alex cocked her gun as Maggie brought her foot towards the door. As soon as the door swung open Alex raised her gun and Maggie did the same, yelling "NCPD!" as they walked into the room. The room was empty, dimly lit. There wasn't even any furniture, except for a small table and a laptop, showing a video of….Kara! Alex ran over to the screen while Maggie looked for another lightswitch.

Alex surveyed the footage. It was blurry, but she could tell there was definitely Kryptonite wherever Kara was. The camera was too far away to tell if Kara was injured, but she could make out some sort of collar around her neck. Alex's stomach hurt. "Kara?! Kara are you ok?!"

"She can't hear you, Danvers," Rick said, emerging from the shadows. Alex froze. There was only one other person who called her Danvers beside Maggie.

"Freeze!" Maggie yelled, aiming her gun at Rick's chest.

Rick slowly put his hands up, not appearing phased by Maggie's actions. "I wouldn't do that if I were you." Rick shifted his gaze towards Alex and the monitor with the footage of Kara. Maggie didn't take her piercing stare off Rick, her gun still aimed at him. What Maggie didn't see was the small remote in Rick's hand.

Alex broke out of her trance, and slowly walked towards Rick, also pulling her gun on him. "Rick," she said coldly, "where's Kara?"

Maggie looked at Alex, brows knitting in confusion. "Alex….do you know this guy?"

Rick still seemed so casual in this entire situation. "Oh yeah. Danvers, her sister, and I go way back. We knew each other in highschool."

"Tell me where Kara is. Right now!" Alex yelled, hands trembling slightly as she kept her gun pointed at Rick.

Maggie would dwell on the details later. Right now she had a Kryptonian to find. She took a step closer to Rick. "Tell me where she is or I swear to god I'll put a bullet in your chest," Maggie said, her voice carrying a certain amount of edge.

"I don't believe you're exactly in a position to be making threats right now, detective," Rick snapped back at her, slowly making his way across the room with 2 guns trained on his heart. "You know this really isn't fair. I'm unarmed." Rick continued walking until he was on the other side of the room, in front of the table. "This is quite simple. You give me what I want, I let the disease live. You don't, she dies." Rick still kept the small remote in his hand hidden.

Maggie didn't hesitate. "Talk. And make it fast." Alex nodded her head in agreement.

"I want my dad out of prison."

"You're out of your mind," Alex said, voice still cold and angry, nodding to Maggie.

Maggie slammed Rick's head into the table, cuffing his hands behind his back, but not before he hit the small button on the remote.

Back in her cell, Kara felt an intense wave of pain radiate throughout her entire body and collapsed to the floor, screaming in agony.

Alex and Maggie's heads snapped up and witnessed Kara's pain and her struggling to breathe, tears pooling in the eyes of both women.

"What did you do to her?!" Alex screamed, eyes trained on Kara.

"You son of a bitch! Leave her alone!" Maggie yelled, pushing Rick's head against the table with more force, the impact causing him to drop the remote but not being hard enough to knock him out. Alex heard the device clatter against the floor and immediately picked it up, pressing the one button on the device. Alex and Maggie felt tears on both their cheeks when Kara's screaming finally stopped and she laid still on the floor, desperately trying to suck in air. Maggie and Alex just stood there in shock, watching Kara finally and mercifully stand up, leaning against the glass and finally catching her breath.

Alex looked back at Rick, raking him off his knees, Maggie at the ready behind them, holding the laptop. "Let's go, asshole," Alex sneered. They walked him out of the room and threw him in the back of Maggie's car, keeping Rick restrained in the back seat. He just sat there, blank expression, for the duration of the ride to the DEO.

-00-

There was no one at the DEO when Alex and Maggie arrived, which wasn't out of the ordinary considering it was 2:34 in the morning. But this wasn't necessarily a bad thing. It meant no one would get in their way.

Alex handcuffed Rick to the table in the interrogation room while Maggie opened up the laptop. Kara was standing up fully now, walking around her cell and trying to find a way out. Rick was surprised but still remained smug in his appearance. Kara had broken the collar off somehow. Although she must've caused herself a great deal of pain to do so, considering her movements were slow and fatigued. If only she knew what she was in for next.

Alex finished with his handcuffs and stood next to Maggie on the other end of the table. "Where is she? Where is my sister?" Alex kept her voice calm and steady, contradicting the panic she felt bubbling inside her.

Rick chuckled to himself. "You'll never find her. Not unless you give me what I want." He shifted his gaze to look at Maggie. "Even if you did find her. It'd be too late."

Maggie was angry and confused and done with all of his bullshit already. "What the hell are you talking about? She ripped off your stupid dog collar so you can't hurt her anymore. You're done. You lost."

"You'll never find her," he repeated. "And she'll die, slowly, and painfully."

Alex punched him across the jaw. "Tell me where she is!"

Rick spit up some blood, opening and closing his mouth to quell the pain in his jaw. Maggie noticed something had dropped from his pocket. A small piece of paper, written on it was "751 Brown Road." An address.

Alex brought back her fist in preparation to hit Rick again. Just as she was swinging towards his face, Maggie stopped her. "Alex! Wait!" Alex stopped, looking at Maggie with questioning eyes. "Look," Maggie said, showing Alex the address written on the paper. Alex took a second to read it, eyes widening. "I know that place. It's an old steel factory, it's not operating anymore." Alex looked at Rick, who looked back at her with shocked and angry eyes.

Maggie and Alex ran out of the room, making sure to lock the door behind them, and sprinted the rest of the way to Maggie's car.

Rick quickly dropped the shocked act, watching the footage of Kara and looking at the water pipe. "Oops," he said with a smug grin, licking the blood off his lips.

-00-

Alex and Maggie ran into the old factory, flashlights up and guns ready at their hips. "Kara?! Kara?!" Maggie screamed as Alex led her through the dark factory. The strange thing was, all the doors were missing, except for one. Alex stopped in front of the door, Maggie stopping behind her, both women horrified at the sound emanating from behind the door. It was Kara. It was Kara, screaming in pure agony. Alex kicked the door open, sprinting into the room to find nothing, except for another laptop with footage of Kara, who was not seemingly in pain but rather still looking for a way out of her cell. Maggie noticed a small speaker on the floor and picked it up as Alex walked over to the laptop. Suddenly Alex felt something tug at her ankles, looking down to find a tripwire. "Maggie! It's a trap," Alex yelled. Only it wasn't a trap for them. Alex's eyes widened in fear as a banner dropped down from the ceiling with one word written on it in big, red letters: "Gotcha!" Maggie looked back to the laptop and immediately her breath left her body. "Alex…" she said. Alex looked at the footage to reveal the cell was starting to fill up with water at an alarming speed. At this rate the cell would be full in 2 hours.

"No!" Alex yelled as she saw Kara struggle trying to stop the flow of water with her sweater, leaving her only in her tank top, but was knocked backwards by the intense water pressure.

"Dammit!" Maggie yelled in frustration, throwing the speaker at the wall. "We have to go. I'll force it out of him myself if I have to."

Alex followed Maggie out of the room as they made their way to Maggie's car once again.

-00-

Back at the DEO, Rick chuckled to himself, satisfied that his trick had worked.

Alex burst through the door, Maggie following behind her, both with eyes like daggers as she grabbed Rick by his collar as Maggie uncuffed him from the table but still left the cuffs around his wrists, pretending not to notice that the water was up to Kara's knees already.

Alex slammed Rick against the wall with one hand, the other cocked back in a fist. "Tell us where Kara is, and I won't kill you right now," she growled.

Rick wasn't intimidated. "Get me my dad," he said.

Maggie was done with his antics, coming around from Alex's other side and punching Rick in the gut. Alex dropped him and he doubled over on the floor, coughing and gasping for air.

Alex felt no sympathy for him, dragging him up and restraining him back to the table. He sat there with his head hung and his elbows on the table, still trying to catch his breath.

Maggie was still watching the footage of Kara, who was up to her chest in water now, still trying to search for a way out. Alex walked over, eyes on Kara, tears blurring her vision. Maggie led her over the corner of the room so Rick wouldn't hear them. "I have an idea," she whispered. "What if we go talk to Rick's dad, Peter Thompson. Maybe he'll help us."

Alex looked at Rick and then back at Maggie. "What makes you think a criminal, a convicted murderer will help us destroy his son's plan?"

"Because I don't think he really did those things." Now Alex was just confused, but she let Maggie continue. "He was convicted, yes, but he pled guilty. There were holes in his case."

Alex became filled with hope. "Ok. Ok let's go right now, we don't have time," she said as she ran for the car, Maggie on her tail.

Rick was still dazed from the punch to his gut, not even registering what Alex and Maggie had said before they left again.

-00-

Maggie spoke to the jail warden. "Detective Maggie Sawyer, NCPD," she said, holding up her badge." I need to speak to a prisoner, Peter Thompson."

The warden didn't even question why Maggie and her "friend" would want to talk to a convicted murderer at 3:12 in the morning. He let them through with no problems.

Maggie knew the prison, so Alex followed behind her as they ran for the visitation room. The guard brought out Peter, looking tired and confused, but was nevertheless polite.

"Detective, ma'am," he said, acknowledging Maggie, then Alex. "For what one-in-a-million reason would you want to see me?"

"Thank you for meeting us, Mr. Thompson," Maggie said. "We need to talk about your son, Rick Malverne, and we don't have a lot of time." Peter nodded, allowing her to continue and saving his questions for some other time.

"He kidnapped my sister," Alex cut in, "and we don't know where she is. She's running out of time."

Peter's eyes grew large. "Oh Rick," he whispered, "what did you do?"

"Do you have any idea where he might have taken her?" Alex pleaded.

Peter thought to himself for a moment, before making eye contact with Alex. "Yeah. There's one place." He gave them the address as Maggie and Alex thanked him and ran back to the car, speeding towards the place.

-00-

It took 35 minutes of Maggie speeding out of control before she and Alex finally arrived at the address given to them by Peter. Once they got there, they sprinted inside. The building appeared to be an old storage space of some sort.

Alex felt fear rise in her stomach. Neither her or Maggie had brought the laptop with them and they had no way of knowing what was going on with Kara. The cell was definitely full of water now. Kara wouldn't last without her powers. They had to find her.

Maggie fought against her own fear, using the adrenaline to keep her legs pumping through every inch of this apparently very large building.

"Kara?!" Alex cried. "Kara?!"

Maggie kept running, Alex right next to her. "Kara?!" Maggie tried.

After what felt like hours they finally rounded a corner and saw Kara, submerged in the middle of the cell now full of water, eyes closed and body unmoving. Maggie and Alex were in shock.

"Stand back!" Alex commanded after a second, stepping in front of Maggie and shooting her alien laser gun at the glass, shattering the entire wall. Kara's body was carried out with a waterfall, crashing to the floor as Kara coughed and gasped for air.

"Kara!" Alex said running over to Kara, Maggie following behind her, also yelling "Kara!"

Alex dropped to her knees beside Kara and took Kara's shivering frame in her lap as she took rapid, deep breaths. Alex wrapped Kara tightly in her arms as Maggie tore off her jacket and draped it across Kara's upper body.

"She's ok, she's alright," Alex murmured, brushing some hair out of Kara's face and kissing the top of her head, tears flowing freely down her cheeks.

"Thank God," Maggie whispered, tears streaking her cheeks as well, taking Kara's shaking, searching hand and squeezing it softly. Maggie used her other arm to hug Alex, keeping Kara's hand in her own, and sandwiched Kara between them, hoping to warm up the younger woman.

Kara's eyes remained closed as she continued to try and catch her breath, pressing her body into Alex's warmth, feeling comforted by the presence of Maggie on her other side.

"You did so good, Kara," Alex said tearfully. "You did so well. You're safe now," she said as she tightened her grip around Kara, never wanting to let go.

Kara nodded against Alex's torso, her breathing slowing down a little bit when she really let Alex's and Maggie's comforting warmth set in. Alex softly cupped Kara's cheek, holding her head against her torso and pressing another soft kiss to the top of Kara's head.

"You're ok, Kara," Maggie said softly. "We've got you." Maggie squeezed Kara's hand again, her heart soaring when she felt Kara give a weak squeeze back.

Kara's breathing had finally slowed down to a non-alarming rate, considering the circumstances, and she finally took a full, complete breath.

Maggie gave Kara's hand one more squeeze before releasing it and tucking it under the jacket. "I'm gonna go call J'onn," she said, gaze fixed on Kara and then on Alex. Alex gave her a soft nod, rocking slowly with Kara in her arms as Maggie walked out of the room.

"I'm so sorry," Alex whispered tearfully. "This is all my fault," she said, as she continued to hold Kara's still shivering body tightly against her own. Alex felt Kara shake her head softly.

"Not your fault," she mumbled sleepily, words slurred by the cold and the fatigue.

Alex rested her chin on the top of Kara's head, closing her eyes for a moment and trying to regain some composure. She let out a shaky breath. "I love you so much, Kara."

Kara was fighting with everything she had to stay awake, but ultimately lost the battle, her grasp on awareness fading as her eyelids grew heavy. "Love you," she murmured, falling asleep in Alex's arms, head held in place against Alex's torso by her gentle hand cupping Kara's cheek.

Alex pressed another soft kiss to Kara's forehead, still rocking slowly back and forth as Kara slept against her when Maggie returned 2 minutes later with a blanket in hand.

"J'onn's on his way. I found this in my car," she said softly as she draped the blanket over Kara. Kara turned her head to snuggle closer against Alex, pulling smiles from both her and Maggie.

Maggie lowered herself back to the floor, stroking Kara's hair as she slept and looking at her honorary alien little sister fondly. She truly did love and care about Kara like a sister, and it was one of the many things Alex loved about her.

J'onn arrived 10 minutes later to find Alex and Maggie in the same spot on the floor, Kara curled up asleep against Alex and Maggie running her fingers through Kara's hair.

He carefully carried Kara back to the DEO helicopter he arrived in, wanting to get Kara warm and dry as soon as possible. Kara slept through the entire helicopter trip, snuggled in between Alex and Maggie.

-00-

Once back at the DEO, Kara began to stir as J'onn carried her to the medbay and placed her gently onto the bed. "Alex? Maggie?" she said softly, coming into awareness as J'onn walked out of the room to give the women some privacy. "I'll go get Rick. I'm glad Kara's ok," he said, leaving Alex and Maggie alone with Kara.

"Kara?" Maggie said as Alex grabbed a pair of dry clothes. Maggie's figure took shape in front of Kara's tired eyes, her face laced with sympathy. "Hey, kid," Maggie said, smiling and embracing Kara in a soft hug. Kara leaned into Maggie's touch, sighing with relief as Maggie wrapped her arms around her. "How're you feeling?" Maggie asked, stroking Kara's hair.

"Cold," Kara mumbled as Alex walked back over toward the bed. "Alex?" Kara asked.

"Hey sweet girl," Alex said softly, rubbing her hand up and down Kara's back as the alien continued to lean into Maggie's torso. "Why don't we get you into some warm, dry clothes?" Alex said gently, continuing to rub her hand across Kara's back. Maggie felt Kara nod against her stomach, saying something along the lines of a tired "yes please." Maggie chuckled and slowly untangled Kara from her grasp. She walked around the bed and supported Kara's waist from behind as Alex worked on changing her into the dry clothes.

Once Alex finished with Kara's clothes she climbed into the bed, sitting behind Kara and switching the hair dryer onto full heat while Maggie went to dispose of the wet clothes. Kara couldn't help but melt into Alex's touch, into the feeling of familiar fingers tangled in her hair. The heat from the dryer in combination with the comfort she feels from Alex lolls Kara's eyes closed and she falls back against Alex, the back of her head resting against Alex's chest. Alex's heart soars with affection as she looks down at Kara, putting the hairdryer down so she can hug her sister. Kara turns in her sleep so she's snuggling against Alex as Maggie walks back into the medbay. Alex wraps her arms tightly around Kara as she leans back, sitting upright against the bed and Keeping Kara's head on her chest. Alex acknowledges Maggie and then smiles down at Kara, affectionately combing her fingers through blonde hair. "Oh Kara. What would we ever do without you?" Alex says fondly. A huge smile splits Maggie's lips as she walks up to the bed, draping a blanket over Alex and Kara, who curls a sleepy fist around the fabric of Alex's shirt.

Both women take a turn softly kissing Kara's forehead before Maggie steps back to watch her sleep. "We love you, Kara," Maggie whispered. "More than anything," Alex finished for her. The 2 women look at each other and smile before Maggie walks to Alex's side of the bed, connecting their lips in a soft and tender kiss. They break apart to see J'onn walking towards containment with Rick, stopping in front of the medbay as Maggie came out to confront Rick and Alex watched from the bed.

"Oh," he said plainly, looking at Kara sleeping against Alex in the medbay, "she survived."

That was the last straw. "Shut up," Maggie growled, connecting her fist with Rick's nose and sending him stumbling back so he was completely held up by J'onn's grip. He brought his hands up to his nose, groaning in pain as J'onn took him away, a small grin breaking out on his face.

Maggie looked back at Alex and the 2 of them laughed, genuinely laughed at what had just happened. Maggie smiled, walking back into the medbay and standing next to Kara's bed, watching her sleep.

Alex smiled at her sister as she snuggled against her, and felt a single tear slip down her cheek. She quickly reached up to wipe it away, an action that didn't go unnoticed by Maggie.

"Hey," Maggie said softly, "what's wrong?" Maggie squeezed Alex's shoulder.

Alex reached her hand up to hold Maggie's on top of her shoulder. "Nothing," she said, looking at Kara for a moment and then back at Maggie. "I'm just so glad she's ok."

"Me too," Maggie whispered, pulling Alex into a soft kiss. The 2 women relished in each other's presence for a moment before breaking apart, bringing their heads together for a second before turning their gaze back to Kara, breathing softly as she slept. Maggie sat down on Kara's other side, rubbing her hand softly up and down Kara's back as Alex continued to play with wavy blonde hair. Neither of them would sleep that night, but rather watch Kara, watch the soft rise and fall of her chest and listen to her soft breathing. And that, that was all they really needed
