Chapter Three- The Results

Alex escorts me outside, away from all the chaos.

"Since both sides gave quite a compelling case, and because of the swarm in there, we will have to wait until tomorrow to find out if you're guilty or not. 'Till then, you'll have to stay at the police station with the detectives. I know it will be tough, with your brother now knowing and all, but it will be worth it in the end if you are innocent. But you will be taken back with a detective from the nine-nine."

"I know this won't be worth it, I'm gonna get convicted."

"I know you won't. Here come the detectives, I'll see you later." The black curly-haired detective gestures towards a car, signalling for me to get in.

"Hey, I'm Rosa. Since you're Jake's little sister, I think it would be cool for him if we get along."

"Sure. I'll try."

"Not a girl of many words, are ya?" I shake my head as Rosa says this.

"To be honest, a little relieved. I hate people who talk too much." I nod my head in agreement.

"Tell me something about you."

"I'm hungry and I could really go for some pizza right now."

"There's a spot right up ahead, I'll grab you piece. You know Sals right?"

"Yeah, it's my favourite pizza place."

"You are definitely your brother's sister."

"Look, Hannah, we need to talk. Wait, is that pizza?"

"Yeah, Rosa and I stopped at Sals on the way here. Want some?"

"Oooh, yes. But I wanted to ask you why you didn't tell me sooner."

"Tell you what sooner?"

"That I'm your brother."

"Cause I knew you would freak out, like you're doing now."

"I'm not freaking out."

"I'm going."

"Cool. cool, cool, cool, cool."

"I have 2 items of good news and bad news." Alex tells me.

"Oh no."

"The good news is we won, and you aren't going to prison. The bad news is you lost all your belongings, including your furniture and your apartment. But you got all the money that the items were worth."

"So at least I can afford an apartment right?"

"Only a very small apartment, which I already bought you, and got you new furniture and decorated the place for you. I'll show it to you now, here is the key." Alex walked away, her heels clicking on the ground with every step. I was so thankful for her, and the fact that she worked my case, but she says all the payment she needs is the fact that I'm her son, Caleb's, girlfriend.

We arrived at the apartment and my mouth dropped. Hard wood floors and soft, fuzzy rugs. A comfy light blue sofa and oil paintings hanging on the walls. The apartment had light purple walls and is filled with everything that I love.

I walk up to the bookshelf and notice something laying there that fills my eyes with tears.

"You manage to save all the things Caleb gave me. I don't know how I will ever thank you for this." All the nicknacks and jewelry Caleb had given me over the time we have been together, a heart shaped box, fake flowers in a vase, my favourite perfume, and even a little crystal heart he had given me for my birthday. It was all there. Happy tears filled my eyes as I sat on the sofa. She did this all for me, they were all so supportive and gave me so much unconditional love, I didn't deserve it all.

The door opens and Caleb walks in. He shakes his dirty-blond hair out of his face and sets his crystal blue eyes on me, piercing mine. He struts up to me and hugs me so tightly I thought I would pop, I hug back.

"What makes you so huggish today?" I ask jokingly.

"I'm just so happy to see you. Do you want to grab something to eat? We can go to a fast food place if you want."

"Nothing would make me happier." My smile stretches giddily across my face as we close the door behind us.

We pull up at a cafe to eat.

"You want the usual tea with a side of scone?"

"Something different actually. A flat white with a side of choco muffin." We both chuckle and Caleb heads up to the counter as I take a seat.

"A flat white, hazelnut latte, chocolate muffin and blueberry scone please." Caleb tells the barista.

"That will be 14.59 please" Caleb gives her a twenty and tells her to keep the change. He strides up to me and sits down.

"So how's your week been?"

"The cops finally shut down the whole thing. I am free, and have no charges and have a new apartment. Plus my brother finally knows I'm his sister."

"That's great. Where do you want me to drop you off after this?"

"The police station, that's where he works. Do you want to come to my place later?"

"Sorry I'm busy tonight. But I can drop you off at your place."

"That would be great thanks."

Caleb drops me off at the police station and walks me inside.

"So pick me up at five?"

"I'll see you then. Can I get the rest of that muffin?"

"No way it's mine." Caleb wrestles me, struggling to get the muffin out of my hands. Eventually he gives up.

"I'll see you later. Bye." Caleb lowers his face to mine and kisses me on the lips for a fleeting moment then he starts to leave.

"Bye." I walk into the room with a few people looking at me.

"Ooh, he's cute. Who is he?" A strange woman asks.

"I'm sorry, who are you?"

"Gina Linetti, nice to make your acquaintance."

"Hannah Peralta, nice to meet you, and that is my boyfriend, Caleb."

"Well he is a cu-u-tie. And one thing you will need to know about me Hannah, is that my spirit animal is. And will always be a wolf."

"You're a wolf, I'm a fox." I tell her then I walk past her desk.

"I like her already." I hear her whisper behind me.
