Chapter 8
They were both just lying in bed enjoying each other and cuddling. Kisses are shared every now and then. They'll stop and stare at each other as if they can't believe this is happening.
She knows Harvey would ask about if Thomas and her are still together. The truth is Thomas saw what everyone saw. It's how Donna act around Harvey and he also found out about how Harvey would do anything for Donna. Was he jealous? Maybe. Yes. Yes, he was. Donna tried to tell him that there's nothing between her and Harvey but he's not too sure if he should believe it or not.
Thomas broke up with Donna after she told Harvey the reason why he can't take the case. That's when Thomas knew. Donna couldn't keep it from Harvey and he knows deep inside Harvey will eventually step in. As much as he likes Donna, she can't be fully his. Although with Thomas or not in the picture, Donna was actually trying to move on from the what ifs, so she kept it to herself about the break up and decided to just keep Thomas the reason why she didn't tell Harvey.
She explained all these to Harvey.
"They all see it. None of them truly lasts" Donna said.
"I wish I'd seen it sooner too" Harvey is lying beside her and facing her while playing the locks of her hair.
"We're here now" Donna said in whisper. They stayed in each other's arms just enjoying each other in silence.
"An apartment near 5th ave because you like shopping, shares with stocks, and a part in my will" Harvey casually said.
"What?" Donna was confused with what Harvey just blabbered about.
"Things I've been hiding from you"
Donna can't believe it. She doesn't know whether she's surprised knowing that Harvey purchased all that, the fact that he's hidden all that from her or the fact that this man was really oblivious of how he's feeling towards her after doing all that.
"Since when?"
"Since when what?"
"Since when did you do all of that….for me"
"I can't really remember exactly when. But the apartment I remember is when we went out shopping the 2nd time. You mentioned that it might be nice to live near 5th ave so you can go home right away and not carry heavy shopping bags all the way to your current apartment"
Donna was shocked because that was just one of the things you say when you're already tired from shopping and not really mean it. She doesn't even remember saying it. "You remember those? I only said that because I was probably tired of walking!"
"I guess with you I pay attention even to the small details or the things I thought mattered"
"You're an idiot you know that" Donna smiled and went on top of him, when the phone rang.
"Shit!" Harvey reached for his phone while Donna's still on top of him.
"It's Rachel" Harvey said looking at Donna to check if he should answer it or not. Donna shook his head. He put the phone back to his side table and didn't answer it. They were about to go again but Rachel kept calling and calling. Donna rolled her eyes and just told Harvey to answer the phone the 3rd time Rachel called. She put Rachel on speaker...
"Hey Rach what's up?" Harvey answered.
"Hey! I know its late but just checking in about Donna's case"
"It's all good Rach. I got it settled"
"That's great! You really are the best closer!" Rachel chuckled.
"Rachel knows it was you?!" Donna couldn't believe that Rachel knows that she forgot where she is and the fact that she's with Harvey.
"Donna?" Rachel was surprised to hear Donna's voice. "What are you doing with Harvey at this time of the night?!"
