Prologue
A long time ago, in a land distant from our own, existed a world simply known as Nintendoland. A land where the digital heroes from our world are flesh and blood and live in a peaceful society, protected by the council of the great heroes who formed this land
But with light comes darkness, and the king of evil, Ganondorf, sought to overthrow the council and shroud the world in darkness. He gathered an army and marched throughout the land, recruiting the darkest souls and destroying anyone in his path.
In a last-ditch effort to defeat the dark lord, Lady Palutena, the Goddess of Light, opened a portal and summoned a hero from another land, who used his otherworldly knowledge to drive Ganondorf's forces back. And locate the legendary weapon to defeat Ganondorf, the Power Glove.
But this story's end is bittersweet. While the hero had defeated Ganondorf, destroying him once and for all, the hero himself had also died. Filled with regret, Palutena swore to never bring another person from another world to theirs, fearing they would too fall to darkness.
With Ganondorf gone, the world once again returned to peace. Yet darkness still loomed in the distance. The battle may have been won, but the war had just begun.

CHAPTER ONE:
The Return
20 years later...
In a small remote village, a little rabbit girl named Pippy had just gotten out of bed a few hours ago, she was tending to her garden, she had noticed it start to get darker, a storm seemed to be rolling in. She took her watering can and planned on going inside, when she heard a fellow villager, Nate, shout "There! Up in the sky!" She looked up, and what she saw horrified her. A fleet of airships, brandishing the markings of Bowser, king of the Koopas, started flying in.
On the main ship stood Bowser himself, as well as King K. Rool, scoundrel leader of the Kremlings. K. Rool pointed and said "On my mark, we fire!" Bowser growled at him "Hey, who's giving the orders here? FIRE!!"
Cannons shot from the airship to the village, all the residents ran to their homes for shelter. Pippy tripped over her flowers, faceplanting onto the ground. She looked up to see a cannonball heading towards her. She curled up in fear when she heard a thunk, she slowly opened her eyes to see Mario, jumping on the cannonball and slamming it to the ground. Mario looked back at Pippy "Get to safety, quick!" Pippy nodded and went inside her house.
Behind Mario, Link, Samus, Fox, and Captain falcon ran up. "Cutting it close, Eh Mario?" Samus scoffed. Mario chuckled " It-a worked out, after all, I'm-a number one, ain'-a I?." He straightened his hat and looked to the airships "Now, Let's-a go!"
The five of them started their counter-attack, Samus and Fox started firing at the airships Link and Falcon were on the ground, protecting the villagers. While Mario carefully and gracefully jumped from cannonball to cannonball to the main ship.
Mario landed on the deck, stomping a shy guy to the ground, looking at Bowser and K. Rool. "Mario!" Bowser sneered "Always getting in my way. Well, you are too late! The artifact will be ours!"
Mario stopped in his tracks "A-Artifact?" Suddenly, a cannonball strikes Mario, sending him flying off the ship. Bowser looks back at K. Rool, holding his blunderbuss. K Rool looked at Bowser with fury "Why must you monologue like that? You almost spilled our plan!"
On the ground, Samus was firing at a ship's propellor, making it fall to the ground. It crashes and bursts into flames. Samus went to go for the next ship when she heard a loud piercing screech come from the burning rubble. She froze in place, she recognized it very well. "It can't be…"
Out of the ruins burst a giant purple dragon-like monster, with a gargantuan wingspan and sharp pointy teeth. "... Ridley!" Samus shouted, aiming her arm canon towards his direction
Ridley flew in place, observing his surroundings, and gave a devious smile "Child's play." He swooped down rob the ground, towards Link, who was fighting off some kremlings. At the last moment, Link looked up, to see Ridley dive towards him. Then he saw red, and then nothing.

GAME OVER
Kimberly groaned, dropping her controller in frustration "Augh! That's the 3rd time I've lost to that boss!" She sighed as she heard her mother shout from the other room "Kim! It's time for school!" Kimberly sighed, it was another day of getting bullied and failing her grades.
Kimberly Jones, an average girl from an average world, an avid gamer and a shut-in, stuck in her room all day playing video games. She slowly got up from the floor and made her way to the kitchen. Her father greeted her "Hey sport! Hope you have a great day." Yeah, 'great day', sure.
She exited her house and sat down in her mom's car, crossing her arms and looking out the window. Her mom looked at her, with a sad smile "Look honey, I know things are rough, but everything gets better!" Kimberly just sighed. Her mom frowned and started to back out of the driveway
As the car arrived at the school drop off, Kim's mom looked at her daughter "Look honey, I know it's been hard being in a new town and in a new school. But things will get better, eventually." Kimberly opened the door and got out, shutting it behind her and headed for the building. Her mom sighed "Good talk, Ok."

In the center of Nintendoland was a grand tower, where the council of heroes met. The most powerful heroes came together and sat at a round table and discussed important matters.
"This is disastrous news!" Pit shouted "Link is… is…" Samus nodded "He is gravely injured, but he is still alive." She said sternly.
Simon Belmont slammed his fist on the table "Those heinous fiends cant get away with this! We must put an end to this". Lady Palutena nodded "Indeed, we don't know what they are planning, but we do know one thing." She looked at Mario. "Tell them what you told me"
Mario sighed "Bowser said he was-a looking for-an artifact of some sort." Palutena nodded "Thank you, Mario. We currently believe he means the artifacts that holdout very world together. In that village was the Gyroid, it wasn't found in the ruins of the village."
Isabelle looked down "All those poor villagers without a home… it just makes me so upset." Mega Man looked to Palutena "Look, I don't want to be that guy, but with all things considered-."
"NO!" Palutena shouted, the council flinched at her tone of voice "Not again. That isn't even being considered as an option. You know what happened last time!" She sighed "We think the next place they are gonna strike is in Dream Land, where the legendary star rod sits upon the Fountain of Dreams. I want a squadron to go there and scout out the area. Samus, Mega Man, and Pit, I want you to go there and see what you can find."
Simon stood up "I'll go too." Palutena shook her head "No, you are needed here, someone has to defend this place in Links absence, and you are the best we got." Simon clenched his fist and nodded. "Palutena looked at the three heroes "Now go, protect the Star Rod!"

Kimberly opened the door to the house, her father smiled "Hey sport! How was school?" She sighed "Same as usual I guess… I'm gonna go play some games." Her mother came over to her "Actually, we thought it'd be a good idea if we could spend time as a family tonight." Kimberly shook her head.
Her father looked at her "Look, we are just trying to be supportive honey, but it's only been a month, you need to move on." Kimberly darted her eyes at her father "Move on? MOVE ON!? Like I had to move away from all my friends to a crappy town where nobody likes me!?" She ran upstairs to her room, her mother called up to her "Honey!"
Kimberly slammed the door behind her, sitting in front of her television, and booting up the game, she went to fight the same boss she was stuck on, only to-
GAME OVER
She, in a fit of rage, threw her controller at the wall, breaking it in half. She panted, as tears streamed down her face. She cupped her face into her hands and started to cry.
The tv started to static and glitch, she stopped sobbing and looked at it, getting up to it. She pulled the cartridge out and blew into it, putting it back in and restarting the game.
The tv started to spark, the screen pixelated before opening a vortex. Papers were blown around her room. She fell backward as it started to suck her in, she tried to grab onto something so she wouldn't go in, but it was too strong. She let go and was sucked in. The world around her was colorful and crazy, she covered her ears and shut her eyes.
She soon landed on the ground with a thud, she felt grass on her face, and slowly started to get up. She felt like she was going to blackout. The world was spinning. She looked around and saw three figures rushing towards her. She instantly recognized them as characters from some of her favorite games. "Huh..?" She muttered before passing out.

Palutena was in her chambers, looking into a mirror and sighing "Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe I should-" Pit burst In "LADY PALUTENA! LADY PALUTENA!" She looked over at him "Oh, did you find the Star Rod?" Pit shook his head "Sorry, but we had to get back here, she needs help!"
Palutena tilted her head. "Im sorry. Who is she?" Pit moved aside, Samus came in holding Kimberly. Palutena's eyes widened, it couldn't be. She was the only one who could summon Humans to this world. Unless

Under the dark ruins of Castlevania, Ridley goes into an underground laboratory. He passes by a glass that housed a monstrous beast, tapping on the glass with his claw "Doctor… was the test successful?"
The portly Doctor Eggman sighed and shook his head "We simply don't have enough artifacts to open the portal fully, I need more time and resources!"
Ridley snarled "I'm only letting you live cause we need you" He tosses the Gyroid towards Eggman "Now do your job, and do it quickly" Eggman shuddered in fear "Yes, of course!"
Ridley exits the room and shuts the door, going to the main hall "All is going according to plan. Soon all worlds will belong to us, and chaos will reign supreme!"
