Gwen had never been more afraid than she was now. She was surrounded by nothing but darkness. This wouldn't be as bad as when she was buried alive, except she wasn't alone.
"Silly Gweny, can't you just accept your fate?" The mysterious voice asked, obviously male. He then chuckled. "I'm letting you chose how to die..."
Gwen groaned quietly to herself. See, she was in the middle of her forth season of Total Drama. This season was the most torturous of them all. Not only was she stuck on a team with Heather again, but she was stuck on a team filled with villains. The challenges had been excruciating, Courtney would not stop blowing off her attempts for forgiveness, and she had just broken up with Duncan. Why? Well, Gwen thought the delinquent was just using her to make Courtney jealous. After everything that happened now, she just wanted out. Sure, she convinced Courtney into an alliance after dumping Duncan, but she was just fed up.
'There has to be some way to quit', the pastel goth thought to herself, 'I'm just done with all of Chris' bullshit!'
She kept wandering around the winner's spa hotel, grumbling to herself when she tripped on some loose carpet. She face planted on the floor, and screamed into the plush, red rug. As she stood back up while rubbing her face, she saw a door. One she never saw before. Curiosity consuming her, she walked towards it. The wallpaper around it was torn away, and the door itself was pretty banged up. She then thought for a moment...
'Guess I could hide in here to cool off', She thought, 'I just need to get away from everyone.' And with that, she stepped into the new, dark, mysterious room...
"What the hell do you mean I 'get to chose how I die'!?" Gwen asked in panic.
"I'm telling you", the voice said, "I can kill you any way you want. You clearly were done with life when you came here. I just want to fulfill your wishes."
Gwen was silent.
"Where is 'here'?"
The room was pretty dirty for being inside the newly built spa hotel. Gwen was quick to spot the countless cobwebs covering the many empty, or unopened, boxes that were scattered throughout the room. the wall were unfinished, and so was the floor. The only lightsource was a dinky bulb in the middle of the room. She sniffed, then sneezed. As she continued looking around while scratching her nose, something caught her eye. Slumped over in the corner was a large animatronic bear. It was clearly suppose to be white and pink, but it was obviously covered in dirt, making it have a tint of gray all over. In its left hand was a microphone with similar colours. Its right hand was clearly torn off, leaving only wires. Gwen felt a sense of dread from the behemoth, so she chose to leave. As she did, however, she tripped on a loose floorboard and smashed her head on the bear's stomach. She passed out after she hit the floor.
"After you passed out, I waited for you to wake up!" The voice said cheerfully. Gwen, in an instant, put the prices together.
"Are you that bear?" She asked. She got a laugh in response.
"I have a name", the voice said. On cue, the bear stepped out of the shadows. "Name's Freddy."
Now that he was standing, Gwen shook with fear. The bear was as tall, if not taller, than DJ. His eyes pierced through her like knives, and the permanent grin on his face made him come off as a serial killer. His earlier statement didn't help.
"What do you want to do with me?" She asked, trying her best to be brave. Freddy just chuckled, sending a shiver up her spine.
"You're cute when you try to act brave, cupcake", he said, "I saw you on the TV's, you are so done with life. I could tell."
Gwen took a step back. "How did you know?"
Freddy popped an eye out. "We're right above the 'secret' surveillance office where all the footage ends up. There's an opening I stick my eye down to watch." He stuck his eye back in.
"So we're in the room", Gwen asked. She hoped Freddy didn't block the door so she could run.
"Oh no. If you screamed, the fun would be over. So I put you someplace where no one would find you. ME." His face opened on that final note, revealing his endoskeleton head. Gwen's heart raced even more.
"What?" She said meekly. In an instant, Freddy vanished as the light turned on, showing his endoskeleton head, now five times bigger, in the middle of a messy wall of wires and cords. The walls were metallic, with wires traveling all the way up. Around Freddy's head were four bladed arms, the points all aimed at Gwen.
Gwen had run out of anything to say. He mind was simply racing at the idea that she was trapped and was probably about to die. She began frantically looking for an exit, an escape, anything! As she panicked, Freddy simply watched like a hungry predator eyeing its vulnerable and oh so delicious prey. He began laughing, the laugh starting off slow, only to become hysterical in seconds. This made Gwen focus on him again.
"Are you ready to listen, now?" Freddy asked, his laugh echoing off the metal walls. Gwen nodded. "Good, so what do you chose?"
"Chose what?" The powerless girl asked.
"How do die, of course!" Freddy's voice was unhinged and twisted. "You get to chose. Whatever you want, I can do."
"What... What can you do?"
"I can cut you into little itty-bity pieces, freeze you till your blood runs cold, or stab you till your heart stops pumping. I could boil you, electrocute you..." As Freddy listed off all the gruesome and gorey ways he could end Gwen's life, said goth was feeling more and more sick to her stomach. Her blood ran cold, and her head hurt. Even with all of this going on, she heard everything the bear said. Gwen raised her hand, and Freddy fell silent.
"Made a choice, cupcake?" Freddy asked, excitement in his voice.
Gwen slowed her breathing and said nothing.
"Why do you not just end it?" The bear asked, "This show ruined your life, remember?"
At that, Gwen widened her eyes, the memories flooding back...
... Heather's endless torment in Island...
... Her shaky and complicated break up with Trent in Action...
... Her frayed friendships because of it...
... Kissing Duncan and felling Courtney's wrath in World Tour...
... EVERYTHING so far in All-Stars...
...
... He was right.
She even remembered between seasons the amount of hate she got. She was done.
Broken.
Wanting to end it.
Gwen took a deep breath.
"Yes", She said. Freddy would be smiling, if he could.
"Excellent", He said, "So, how do you want it done? I saw your thing in London, so how about decapitation."
Gwen was silent for a moment.
"Can you count down?"
"Of course."
He closed his eyes, only for them to open with the number 10 where pupils would be. he then began to count down.
"Dix..."
Outside of Freddy, he grabbed something...
"Neuf..."
It was a large, sharpened blade...
"Huit..."
He pulled it close to his waist...
"Sept..."
Gwen stood at attention...
"Six..."
She closed her eyes...
"Cinq..."
Freddy's hand twitched...
"Quatre..."
He slowly reeled the blade back...
"Trois..."
Gwen's heart started beating against her ribs...
"Deux..."
Freddy stopped his hand...
...
...
...
"Un..."
The blade swung into his body...
Gwen woke up with a start, cold sweat dripping down her face and her heart hammering against her chest. She took in her surroundings, finding she was safe in bed, Courtney in the bed on her right, Heather in the bed to her left. Seeing the two girls sleeping peacefully, she slowed her breathing. She felt relieved, happy that all the happened involved that bear was a dream. She looked out a nearby window, the moonlight gently shining through. She smiled, but as she began to lie back down, she saw something on her nightstand. She grabbed it. It was a note. Despite the notes large, crooked letters, she felt fear consume her as she saw what it said.
YOU KNOW WHERE TO FIND ME
She heard Freddy's unhinged laughter as she set the note down and tried to go back to sleep. But she couldn't.
All she saw was endless death.
