I let Nat take her time doing my hair was I applied my make-up, just simple, smoky eyes and popping pink lipstick -I really feel like I can do this-. Nat's short red hair was already curled lightly. It didn't take long for Nat to dry, curl and pin my hair into a lazy undo. Whilst I poured us another drink, she finished her make-up. We then helped each other with our outfits, Nat helped me pick out some dark blue skinny jeans, a black tasselled spaghetti strapped shirt and black heels lace up boots. She wore her leather look leggings, an emerald green shirt and black stiletto's. We gave our outfits a final look over, giggling with our 3rd drink before making our way arm-in-arm outside. -Wow, even 3 drinks down and I am feeling that cold outside! Wish I'd picked up a jacket!
Bursting through the bar doors, we quickly split up to find our group. The bar was so busy, it was hard to even see through the crowds, I carefully pushed my way through. I decided the best option was to head to the back of the bar and work my way forward. It felt like I had been squeezing my way through the crowd for a good ten minutes before I felt a hand tug my wrist, I quickly looked down and let my eyes trace up the arm to whoever had breached my personal boundaries.
"Hey! You look lost!" Bucky was smiling, shouting over the music "this way, Nat found us, I said I'd come get you,"
"I did think I'd never make it out!" I joked, Bucky laughed, pulling me through to where the group were,
"Look who I found," He spun me, presenting me to the group
"Kate!" "Hey!" "Hi!" A chorus rang out, Steve, Sharon, Clint and Sam sat in that order,
"Hey! Where's Nat?!"
"Bar. She went to get you and herself a drink!" Sharon responded, Bucky sat next to Sam, patting the seat next to him. I sat a little too eagerly.
"It's real busy tonight!" I yelled,
"There was a game on, the crowd has all come from that, we'll probably head somewhere quieter soon." Sam leant over Bucky, "Anyway, how's it going?"
"It's real good Sam, thanks, I'm heading back to class Monday,"
"Yeah, Buck mentioned it, good on you," He smiled, "I missed you, girl"
"You too Sam," I smirked, Bucky cleared his throat between us, "Bucky I can't miss you; you've been visiting me every day!" I laughed.
"Coming on a little strong there, Buck," Sam laughed, Bucky elbowed him
"Hey, I was bringing her class work, and food,"
"I know, I know, you've been a saviour Bucky, seriously," I smiled up at him, patting his arm.
"Kate! Here, I got you another pink drink!" Nat appeared placing a tall glass of pink in front of me, I giggled,
"Another? You two already been drinking?" Clint frowned, "Without us?"
"Nat did cosmo's while we got ready," I smiled, "I suppose it's only right we stick to pink drinks, I mean mixing drinks is bad, yeah?"
We all finished our drinks and Sam stood in the booth, "Right c'mon move, let's go, there's far too many jocks in here,"
"Agreed, let's go," Nat announced, we all stood and made our way out, walking to the next bar, I fell into step with Steve and Sharon.
"So, how's it going, you guys? Still flirting or dating now?" -Did I just say that out loud?-
"Uh..." Steve rubbed the back of his head, a slight blush coming to his cheeks,
"Yeah, I asked him out a couple of weeks ago," Sharon laughed, "And he said yes!" She poked Steve's arm, we both laughed at his eye roll
"That's awesome," I smirked, "Hey Steve, you never know maybe this time next year she'll make an honest man out of you." Winking at him, cue second eye roll.
"Okay, okay, you don't think I've heard all this?" he laughed along with us this time,
"I'm just kidding, you guys are really cute together," I smiled
We all stopped in front of an alley, Sam pointing down it "Dax's?"
"Who?" I looked to Steve
"It's a bar, the cool kids use this entrance," Bucky smirked as he pushes me forward,
"Not scary at all," I looked at him, "Just a normal creepy, dark alley, right?"
"Yeah, exactly, c'mon you big baby," Clint said laughing, walking along with us.
As Sam raised a hand to the door, it swung open, to a big, burly, tattooed fella stepped out, a cigarette held up to his lips. He stared and broke into a big smile;
"Sam!" He grabbed Sam in a tight hug, "How's it going man? Come for a drink?"
"It's great, yeah figured you wouldn't mind if I brought a newbie," Sam pointed at me, "Kate, this is Dax,"
Dax strode over holding out his hand, "Pleasure!" he shook my hand enthusiastically, "First drink is on me! Get yourselves inside!"
Bucky put a hand on my lower back and guided me in, "Nice to meet you too!" I yelled back to Dax, he waved.
The rest of the night was spent in Dax's, either around the jukebox, the pool table, or the makeshift dance floor Nat and myself had created by sectioning off a part of the room with bar stools. Dax was surprisingly cool about it, saying "Hey, if this brings ladies into the bar, let them dance!" We managed to pull everyone up to dance except Bucky; he would smirk, shake his head and wave us off. Around 11pm the bar was empty aside from Dax and us, Dax had sent his bar staff home as he wasn't expecting anyone else in. He pretty much left us to our own devices as long as he didn't trash the place. I really liked Dax. It was around 2am when he called it and kicked us out saying he wanted some sleep. We all stumbled our separate ways home, but before promising each other we'd text when we all got home safe. As soon as Nat and I got back to the dorm we crashed on the sofa, giggling.
"Text the group! We're safe!" Nat yelled laughing, I tried to shush her,
"Shut up! You'll wake the whole dorm!" I pulled out my phone giggling, typing out a quick SAFE to the group chat.
We passed out pretty quickly after that.
