「Act 41: The First Order is no more

Ajan Kloss, 36 ABY

The bomber crews had spent hours at the Resistance base, waiting for everyone to get ready. The Resistance had planned the next attack, even with Dameron away. He and his team were only missing a day, and the Resistance was already planning. The plan was to take down the remaining ships of the First Order. It was only a few in number, and it was an easy mission for the Resistance. The only problem was that their best pilot and the general wasn't there.

Aboard bombers, back were sore, bladders were full, and tempers were short. The fighters were already on the air to protect the bombers, and the plan was set. Behind the last attack were Commander Larma D'Acy, Zorii, Rose, and Jannah. Amazing cooperation united those four, for one whole idea: 'Take down the remaining First Order.'

"Bombers, keep the formation," Zorrii warned, "Fighters, makes sure to protect the bombers, don't get drawn into dogfights."

A few of the Resistance replied, "Copy," as the fighters were already upon the ships, the three remaining warships of the First Order were larger now as they flew closer. Rose took deep breaths as she assigned to deliver the bombs, work that her sister did before. "This is for you, Paige," she mumbled to herself.

Today, galactic history was written as the First Order was about to be taken down completely. Indeed they have fought against the First Order for so many years, and even they had small success, they had never taken completely out their bases. They started with taking down Starkiller Base, and then other missions followed. The final stand would be today.

"This is it, guys!" snapped Zorri from inside her Y-wing. She fired first, and the belly of the cannon lit up like fireworks. She had gotten pretty good at this. She felt like justice was delivered today; she could finally avenge her team killed in Kijimi. "Fighters, we are gonna split, take the remaining cannons down."'

"Copy," yelled Wrobie Tyce as her A-wing flew past Zorri's, aiming the cannons of the second ship.

"Remain on your course Tyce," D'Acy said, encouraging her wife, "We' are almost done."

"Damn," Zorii cried out suddenly as a blast rocked hit her cockpit, but she was fast enough hadn't hit it enough to cause some permanent damage. "Guys, we are almost there."

Soon more crafts were popping into sight all over the place; freighters, fighters, and bombers were cooperating to bring this mission to an end.

"Look, we are actually outnumbering the First Order," Wrobie commented as she couldn't believe that there would come a day that the Resistance would be stronger in numbers. "Unbelievable."

"Ok, let's heat those cannons, and Bombers get in place; it's your turn" Zorrii gave the signal.

"The third ship, there, not enough bombs to take it down," a bomber suddenly noted, "What are we going to do, Commander."

"This is our last chance; let's bring down a ground team," Jannah suggested, "We've to hit them down."

"Jannah, your team is on," Commander Larma D'Acy approved the ground mission. "Rose, can you back her up?"

"Copy, after I deliver those last bombs!" Rose shouted louder, "Wait, for me, Jannah!"

Jannah and her team were doing a great job as they landed on the third ship; they would take down the cannons as she had done last time with Finn, "Come, guys, we don't have all day."

Her team took down cannon after cannon; it was like they already knew what they were doing. A moment later, Rose landed as well in the already burning ship. "Jannah, we have to go; the bombs will be detonated soon."

One explosion after the other started happening; Commander Larma D'Acy signaled all the teams to retreat as the bombs were about to blast.

Jannah's team slid down the length of the First Order ship as the ship jolted. A Resistance craft came to pick them up. One by one, the members leaped into the ship. Rose and Jannah were last to jump into the ground below the collapsed and took them down.

"Commander Larma, Rose, and Jannah didn't board," one of the fighters informed her. "They're still on the ship... inside it!"

"What?" Zorii said, worried; she couldn't lose any of the Resistance members today. She would not. She peeled her Y-wing away from the attack and dove towards the ship where Rose and Jannah had fallen.

Scanners were useless now, and the cannons out of order, Jannah had done that. It was a good chance she would lose both of them, but she wouldn't give up, not until she had to.

"Where are we?" Rose puzzled as she tried to stand up. "Jannah, are you alright?" Rose stumbled over and helped her stand. They had ended up inside the First Order ship. The craft was falling, and it was on fire.

She grabbed her hand and stood up. "We have to get out of her; I know the way, follow me!" Jannah cried out and ran towards the exit, followed by Rose.

The adrenaline activates their sympathetic nervous system, making their heart beat faster, diverting blood to their muscles and away from their gut. They climbed up to a corridor lost into their own rising addiction to remain alive.

Everything was now on fire, most of the enemy was running to escape, and many were dragged to their death. Rose lifted her right arm and grabbed against a metallic bar, as suddenly another hand grabbed hers. She looked at the hand, and it was filled in blood. She gazed at the owner of the hand in disbelief.

"General Hux?" she suddenly yelled, catching Jannah's attention. "Aren't you dead?"

Hux mumbled something, but Rose only heard gasping noises. Jannah was shouting at her to hurry. Everything was happening so fast; she recalled that Hux was the spy. Poe had informed her after the battle of Exegol was finished. She had many questions about how Hux ended up alive. But for the time being, they had to escape.

"I'll regret this," Rose said loudly but offered Hux her hand and pulled him towards her. "Jannah, I need help here!"

"I see them," informed Zorii as she turned her Y-wing close enough for them to jump in as their team's ship picked them up.

"Return to base; the bombs are about to trigger," Commander Larma D'Acy notified them, and all the teams of the Resistance returned to base.

"Jannah, are you alright," Rose asked her, making sure that she was not hurt.

"Alife," she assured Rose and looked at the man that had collapsed on their feet. "Isn't that?"

"Yes, that is General Hux of the First Order, and he used to be our spy. I thought he was dead." Rose explained and knelt before him, checking his pulse. "He seems alive."

Hux awoke and found himself lying on a stretch; his wounds were cleaned and bandaged. He sat up carefully, feeling his injures aching him. He scanned his surroundings, noting that he was brought at the Resistance base. He also figured out that he was not treated as a criminal, as she wasn't cuffed and he was taken off good care.

"You are going to be alright in a few days," a female voice said suddenly as Rose walked towards him, holding food and water. "We thought you were dead."

"Pryde tried to kill me, but I survived. After the battle in Exegol, I ended up with the survivors, but traitor of the First Order was kept as a prisoner." Hux explained to her as he accepted the food and water that Rose gave him.

"You aren't forgiven or anything, so stay around until the generals are back to talk with you," Rose informed him. "Even working as our spy isn't enough to atone for your crimes."

Hux nodded; after all, he didn't have any place to return. The First Order was no more; he had lost all his belongings and power with it. And although he had helped the resistance enough to offer information about Kylo Ren and his plans, he still had done his own crimes. And he would do even more, but he loathed Kylo Ren enough to turn a spy for the Resistance only to bring him to his downfall.

"You are lucky," nodded Jannah as she showed up and signaled Rose that the Commander wanted her, then both of them left.

"Commander D'Acry, you wanted us?" Rose quizzed as she walked over to the communication board, "What happened?"

"Rose," Poe said from the communication panel, "The Commander told me what you have pulled up, bold move, but well done."

"General," Rose sounded surprised to hear him, "Yes, our mission was successful. Do you have any news?"

"We do; as I informed the Commander, we found where the Black stone is and are heading there. Our mission might take longer than planned." Poe notified her.

"Did you hear that," Rose said, smiling? "Those are good news? General, we found one more person alive and brought him back on base."

Although he was worried about the new difficulties they would face, Poe agreed that he didn't want to worry the base, at least until they have found out the whole truth. "Who?" he asked her curiously.

"The spy, General Hux, he somehow survived; he is back in base," Rose said.

"Oh, Hugs, and I thought I would never see him again, tell him I already miss him," Poe said in a mocking voice.

Rose, the Commander, and Jannah laughed, and their communication was turned off. Poe had informed them about their new mission. The Falcone was now flying toward the Imperial Palace; that was a two to three days journey.
