Angst and Hurt will be added. I hope the silly moments that were added through the story were fun enough. But it's time to get serious now. Of course, when the times are right, we'll have a little break with light chapters. Let the fun begin in chapter 51 and onwards. ^_^
Secondly, Adam Driver was hired back by George Lucas to lend his voice to the animated series (of Star Wars) that Disney and Lucas plan to release, and of course, we'll see the return of Ben Solo in a future sequel that is coming out around 2023. ^_^
「Act 50: Next-day's Flak」
Falcon, 36 ABY
Everything within Ben Solo screamed and begged for rest. He couldn't any longer comprehend the number of absurd moments he lived since he was brought back in the Resistance Bay. His entire being was wracked in confusion, both physical and emotional. He had summoned all the strength and patience that was left to manage to deal with the last fiasco: Rey's friends interrogating him about marriage, he even didn't recall.
He was ready to start hitting his head against the metallic walls of the Falcon because he was not asked about his misdeeds or his crimes. No, this time and day, as they were trying to reach the Imperial Palace to find the Sith's Soulstone, everyone inside the ship was curious about 'their wedding.' It seemed that Poe and Finn had found them drunk, sleeping in some Azure corner, and brought them back to the Falcon. And for his bad luck, Poe had discovered the marriage contract.
"Are you even going to explain to us what happened?" Poe said as he gazed down at Ben, who sat in a small lounge area surrounded by everyone. From Poe, Finn, Chewie, C-3PO, R2-D2, and BB-8, "Take your time. We have plenty of that!" Poe added and took a step back, sitting down across Ben and waiting for an explanation.
Ben lifted his head, seeking Rey, who had disappeared inside the cockpit, leaving him alone to deal with the mess they both created when drunk. 'Will you help?' Ben sent her a thought, almost begging her: 'I cannot deal with this on my own!' This was ridiculous, being cornered by an action he is hardly remembering doing what was he supposed to say.
'Get out of my head!' she insisted as she sat in the pilot's seat, ignoring him. 'I don't remember! Don't be scared; I feel it too!' she threw back his own words he had said to her Starkiller Base when he was still Kylo Ren.
Ben took a deep breath shaking his head as he was left alone now to deal with the situation, "You know we were drunk!" Ben offered to hope that would at least give them the benefit of the doubt. "And..." he paused as his right hand rubbed his face in disbelief, "And we agreed that we there was love about the Falcon!"
Poe hid a few laughs; seeing the former Kylo Ren narrating such events was hilarious. He and Chewie shared a look, having the same thought that it couldn't get funnier than this, but they tried to remain serious. "What happened next?" Poe asked in a calm and serious tone.
On the other hand, Finn didn't seem happy with what had happened. When he and Poe found Rey and Ben together lying in that alley with the wedding contract in Ben's hand, he died a little inside. How could Rey accept to marry someone like Ben, even in her drunken state, she should know better? As for Ben Solo, how dare he even think about it?
"We decided to make it official by signing a contract," Ben said as he facepalmed himself, he paused again. 'You...' Ben suddenly connected through the force with Rey. 'How can I recall most of our actions, and you don't?' He waited a moment, but Rey ignored him again. 'Fine, scavenger!' Ben gathered his courage once more and finished the story "And we thought that a wedding contract would do... You know the rest." Then he dropped his head, defeated.
Poe and Chewie, unexpectedly, started laughing. "I never knew a Falcon's love could unite two in marriage," Poe chuckled, and Chewie roared, agreeing with him.
Finn was still not pleased with what he was hearing; he glared at Ben, unsure how to react. But he was disappointed with Rey. BB-8 started crushing against Ben, irritated, properly thinking it was his fault that they got married.
C-3PO was still confused. "So, are they married or not?" But R2-D2 explain to him that the contract was never accepted, and they were not married.
Thankful, after that, everyone gave a break to poor Ben. Poe tapped his shoulder as he was still resting his hands against his legs and looking at the ground with his head drop. "It's alright, Buddy! We were only messing with you!" Poe assured him. He gestured to BB-8 to stop pumping against Ben and give him some rest.
A few moments later, Ben pushed himself to his feet with a grunt and stumbled towards the cockpit and sat on the co-pilot's seat. He sensed Rey's uneasiness, but he didn't say anything. He sat down, defeated as he was, leaning against the seat and looking at the open space in front of them.
Rey had felt him die inside a few moments before, and it was as part of her had gone with him. Because what had happened to them last night was also embarrassing for her. "I didn't know," her voice came low as she avoided to gaze at him, "That they wanted to toy with you."
"One thing for sure," Ben responded, irritated. "You remained hidden while I got grilled by your friends."
Rey turned and faced him with attitude, "My friends?" she quizzed. "They are your friends as well, don't try to blame this on me!" It didn't take long for Rey to fire up these days. Because her world had changed as well, those silly things were not happening not only to Ben but to her as well. Of course, she was embarrassed as well, and she didn't know how to explain why?
Ben's face spun to her direction, dark eyes met brown, and looked at each other for a moment. Rey felt her heart skip a beat, and Ben thought he saw fireworks again. Both knew what was happening; they were not healed yet; the alcohol had side effects on their illness. "They are more yours than they ever will be mine," Ben explained as his gaze rested against hers. "And you cannot blame them; being friends with Kylo Ren is impossible!"
Rey didn't like the way he talked about himself, that he still believed that he was not allowed to have friends because Kylo Ren was once a part of him. She agreed that there was a lot to take care of, his deeds and crimes, to deal with many consequences. She agreed with Ben on that but was he pulling away from everything and everyone, choosing solitude than friendships offered to him. 'Silly Ben Solo,' came her voice through the Force and reached him as she stood up and walked over him, leaning closer and wrapping her arms around him, pulling him closer. 'You are not alone,' Rey insisted through the force, 'and it's time to accept it!'
And Ben gave up when her arms wrapped around him; he leaned against her, his head rested on her belly as Rey's head relaxed above Ben's head. Times like those made all the silliness to be forgotten. Who cared about those ridiculous moments any longer, as he could have a friend like Rey. The impossible, kind, and warm Rey. With friends like her around, everything in this forsaken galaxy seemed a little better.
North Unknown Regions, Eanor, 36 ABY
Dark Rey Palpatine, the Emperor's clone creation, the only bloodline left accepting the Sith. The current co-ruler of Eanor and the second head of the North Unknown Regions. Dark Rey was thought of as nobility and was part of the remaining High Society in the North Unknown Regions. She was a lover of art, well educated, and a gorgeous woman. At her age, she had already accomplished great tasks.
Some of her acts were dark, shameful, but the Unknown Regions didn't know of all the darkness that was slowly growing inside Eanor, neither how the current Rulers had possessed the leadership. And honestly, they didn't care. Through all the councils that had taken place, the Union of the Unknown Regions was terrified of Delkor and the darkness that was orbiting around him. Some because they knew of what he was capable of and didn't want to end up like Eanor and the rest because they were hunted and threatened.
Therefore, when Delkor didn't show up and sent Dark Rey in his place, the council was at ease. Some believed she was capable of more sinister actions than him, but at least when she was more presentable and in a strange way, she was omitting a great power of greatness. Terrifying power, but filled with a superiority nonetheless.
Dark Rey had white fair skin, shiny and soft. Her hair was long and straight. The color was onyx black. She was quite tall, at around 5.5'. Her eyes were a bottomless pool of darkness, black filled with fierceness and pride. Her appearance was impressive. It was said there was not another as beautiful as her in the Unknown Regions.
Starting to get a feel for who she really was at her core. These days of more calmness, now that she had mastered the art of having a clear brain, the serenity of feeling her own intelligence rather than tiring herself with unresolved thoughts, she could see far more clearly. Since the day a leading spot was offered to her, her actions were accurate and brought results.
The truth behind her change was a shadow that had visited her and guided her through achieving a greater goal. She was devoid of emotion and ruthless Dark Rey, who knew exactly how to use power and fear to benefit the council and the association. She had a higher level of professionalism; unlike Delkor, she didn't want to bring darkness and ruin to the galaxy; she wanted to rise through the darkness and become Empress.
And again, she proved it. She managed to surround attack planets of the North Unknown Regions under the table. Her place rose slowly and steadily, as Delkor believed her to be just his tool. Indeed she was clever enough and allowed him to think of her as his puppet. She was offering her powers, guidance, and wholeness to prove to Delkor that he was head, but behind him, she was one who was moving the pawns.
And her improvement was happening slowly, through the years, and now she was only gaining more power. It didn't happen overnight; she was not a Mary Sue, as Rey was. Her powers were built day by day, night by night, since the Emperor had sent her in Eanor and Delkor became her master. A master she would soon betray to achieve her unlimited goals.
