Just a quick note, i thought Ash would like to settle down in Kalos after he won, because he wanted to be there for Serena. Ash won't travel to Alola, in my vision of events to come.

ROLL THE EPISODE
After the 'Kalos war', Lysandre was killed and the remnants of the organization were arrested. Ash and Company made their way back to the stadium so Ash could battle the elite four. And after four close wins he did so and made his way to battle the Champion herself in a six versus six battle that would determine a new champion of the region, and prevailed.
It was almost christmas in the Kalos region, the weather was cold and snow blanketed the streets and fields on the path to Serena's house and the gang couldn't be more excited. But recent events meant that they had two things to celebrate, the group of heroes were on their way to Serena's house in Vaniville town—where Grace was having a Christmas party, and because she invited them over to celebrate Ash's victory.
"So Ash, have you figured out what your gonna do next?" Bonnie asked tugging on his shirt to get his attention.
"Well… i think i may stay in Kalos for a while. For Serena." he said glancing at his friend.
"Since i'm champion now i guess i'll need to convince my mom that she needs to move here too. I can't imagine her and Mimey, staying home while I'm a champion of a faraway region" Ash explained.
"That makes sense" Clement said with a smile.
"Or you want to be with Serena forever" Bonnie teased. Suddenly she began to make kiss faces making him blush madly.
"No, no no no no no Thats not it" Ash stammered over his speech.
"Pika" Pikachu face palmed with a sigh while shaking his head left and right. How long was he gonna keep up the dense charade. (T: Oh boy)
"Bonnie that wasn't nice" Clement scolded his sister.
"Awwwww, but i was just messing with them" Bonnie moaned.
Serena was behind Ash the whole way and heard the whole thing and blushed.
'He want's to stay in Kalos with me?' Serena thought with a dreamy smile from ear to ear.
Soon the gang made it to Serena's house, they were so deep in their conversation that they hadn't noticed.
"Hi Rhyhorn" Serena said calling out to the rock/ground type. Serena rushed over to the riding Pokemon happy to see him. Unfortunately he began to charge at her.
"No Rhyhorn wait- oof" Serena was cut off when the Pokemon tacked her and began to affectionately lick her face.
"Hahahaha Rhyhorn stop your tickling me" Serena said laughing as the Spikes Pokemon continued to assault her with affection.
Getting the message across the Pokemon stopped and let the honey blond girl stand up to catch her breath, much to her relief. Soon the others came up to her and they all walked up to Serena's door and knocked.
"Welcome come in, come in. You must be freezing. Ash i have a surprise for you" Grace giggled beckoning everyone inside. The four and Pikachu all walked in and settled down on the couch after they put their stuff down.
Ash was surprised and perplexed, but he looked to the side in the kitchen to see some one he wasn't expecting.
"MOM" Ash said in shock. His mother was in a santa outfit humming a christmas tune as she was helping Grace make dinner.
"hi Ash" Delia said. she stopped what she was doing and immediately hugged her son with all the affection a mother could give. Squeezing her son tightly.
"Mom your crushing me" Ash said in pain.
"Oops, sorry" she said.
The others in the group smiled at the scene. It was a heartwarming thing to see.
"Mom what're you doing here?" Ash asked.
"Well Grace called and said that the house next door was for sale and since you won the Kalos league i packed my things and beelined for Kalos as soon as i could" Delia said excitedly.
Bonnie elbowed Serena with a smirk. "Guess you'll be getting your wish after all" Bonnie teased making her blush crimson.
"Who are they Ash?" asked Delia. Referring to Ash's friends.
"Mom i'd like you to meet Clemont, Bonnie and Serena" Ash said gesturing to his friends.
"Hello" Clemont said.
"Hi" Bonnie said happily in a cheerful tone.
"Hello Ms Ketchum" Serena said. Serena went up to Delia and hugged her while she returned it.
"Its so nice to see you again sweetie" Delia cooed at her, causing her to blush slightly.
"So you do remember me" Serena said excitedly. Delia chuckled.
"How could i not. Ash talked about you constantly. When you left Kanto he was so depressed that he wouldn't sleep or eat a single thing, he wouldn't talk to anyone at all" Delia explained. Serena blushed and looked at Ash.
"Were you that depressed when i left?" Serena asked. Ash nodded with a small smile remembering when Serena left.
"You shouldn't starve yourself Ash, i missed you too" Serena said consolingly. She walked up to him and gently pulled him into a hug which Ash had returned with much emotion, a lone tear shed from both of them.
"But i'm here now so theres nothing to worry about right?" Serena asked.
"I… I guess, thanks Serena" said Ash. Serena smiled cheekily and winked at him playfully.
"Alright everyone dinner is ready" Grace called. Everyone sat down at the kitchen table. Ash ate at a much slower pace then he normally did. Normally he'd eat through his food like it was going to expire in five seconds.
Serena was the most surprised since she knew Ash was a glutton much compared to a Snorlax if you wanted to get technical, she grew concerned that something was bothering him again.
"Ash is there something wrong?" Serena asked in concern. Ash swallowed his food and smiled.
"I'm fine Serena" Ash said. She smiled seemingly put as ease, everyone soon finished their dinner and thanked Grace for her hospitality.
"Thank you Ms Grace" Bonnie said happily. The Kalos gang and Delia nodded happily with a smile.
"It was my pleasure everyone, Merry christmas" She said with a kind smile.
"That reminds me, i need to run in to Lumiose city, theres something i forgot to do" Ash said.
"Alright, see you later" Clemont said with a smile.
(With Ash, Pikachu and Greninja)
"Lets take the next bus to Lumiose city" Ash said confidently
"Ok" the pokemon said in unison.
Soon the bus had came and the three were driven to the entrance of the city, the three decided to walk the rest of the way.
"I have to admit that the city is very beautiful" Ash said in amazement. Walking through the snow covered streets and sidewalks.
"Yeah it is" Greninja said. Pikachu nodded.
"Lets do some window shopping before we head back, maybe we can find something for Serena and Braixen" Ash suggested.
The three walked around for a decent bit of time before they cut their losses and went to a Pokemon center to relax after they looked around. So far they had came up with nothing.
"Man i'm stumped, i don't know what to get her at all" Ash moaned. He crossed off several ideas in his mind with an audible sigh of exhaustion and mild annoyance.
"It'll be fine Ash" Pikachu said.
"Thanks buddy" Ash said.
"Don't give up, we'll find something" Greninja said reminding his trainer about the signature phrase he'd taught Serena all those years ago.
"Excuse me young man?" Nurse joy asked. The three made their way to her curious on why she called them.
"I couldn't help but notice you deep in thought about what to buy for christmas" the Nurse began.
"What. Do you have any ideas?" Ash asked.
"I'd just like to point out that theres a new jewelry shop on Autumn avenue that just opened. Why don't you and your Pokemon have a look" Nurse Joy said with a bright smile.
"OK thanks for letting us know" Ash said thanking the nurse.
"I'm always happy to help someone n need, Merry Christmas" Nurse Joy said with a smile.
The three had walked their way over to the jewelry store that the nurse had pointed out. The three walked inside and were amazed by the selection.
"Wow, this place is amazing" Ash said amazed. He never had any taste for jewelry but the thought was still there, making him smile. He knew Serena would love anything he'd give him but he wanted her gift to be something special, something she'd never forget. Something that said 'i would always be thinking of you'
The three looked around, Ash with Pikachu on his shoulder and Greninja by himself, the three were amazed by the selection. The three had spent a good amount of time admiring the jewelry on sale. Greninja called them over to look at something he found.
"Hey Ash i found something" Greninja said calling the other two over. The three gazed at a silver chain necklace with a fennekins' face made of gold, with diamond eyes.
"That looks great Greninja" Ash said congratulating his friend and partner.
Ash continued to look around with no luck. He sighed with frustration. Suddenly a worker noticed his dilemma and called him over.
"Excuse me sir do you need help?" a female worker asked. Ash walked up to her and began to explain what his problem was.
"Yes, i'm... trying to buy a gift for a friend of m... mine but i... i have no idea what to get her." Ash explained with a mild blush forming on his face.
"Oh i see... i might know just the thing you want" the worker said with a knowing smirk. She motioned for Ash to wait behind the counter. While Ash was waiting he looked at the time frantically, knowing that he had to be at Serena's house soon, no doubt his friends and mother were getting worried by now.
Moments later the worker came back out with a black box. When Ash opened it his mouth dropped in surprise, his Pokemon also copied his reaction. Inside was a silver chain necklace with a red heart shaped jewel surrounded by two layers of diamonds. and it had a gold bottom. He looked at the worker and back to the necklace in a double take. The store worker smiled brightly at him.
"This necklace was made from jewels farmed in the mines in Orburgh city in the Sinnoh region, and shipped all the way here" the worker explained.
"Really?!" Ash asked in shock. She nodded.
"Its free of charge if you can promise me something" the worker said. She motioned for Ash to lean closer to her. He did so and the worker whispered something.
"Never break this girls heart, ever" the worker said with a knowing smile.
"Now, do you want it wrapped?" she asked.
"yes please" Ash said. She nodded and wrapped the two gifts and handed them to Ash who put them in his backpack to hide them away until christmas morning.
"Alright we got our presents guys lets head back to Serenas' house" Ash said excitedly.
30 minutes later
Ash had returned back from his shopping spree just as the sun began to set from the sky.
"Ash where have you been? We were worried" Serena said in concern. His friends and both mothers nodded behind her.
"Sorry we got back so late" Ash said apologetically while scratching his nose. "But im here now so everything ok now" Ash reassured his group of friends.
"What'd you get? What'd you get?" Bonnie said jumping up and down energetically. Everyone chuckled.
'You'll just have to wait until tomorrow and see" Ash said teasingly. rubbing the little girl on the head making her giggle.
"Ok Ash" Bonnie said with an adorable giggle. The others went 'aww' at the scene. It was truly a cute moment.
Soon it was night time and everyone was sitting around the fire place exchanging stories, Delia had politely excused herself to finish unpacking everything in the house for her and her son, Since Ash was the new champion.
"So Ash I'm curious to know how you beat Diantha. I wasn't there but i'm interested to know how the battle went" Grace said. Ash glanced at the trophy beside the couch and smiled. Serena sat beside him as he explained his story.
"Well it went like this" Ash said.
Flashback
Ash, Pikachu, and his friends finally made it he passed through the sacred doors of the Kalos league after defeating all of the elite four consisting of Malva the former team flare member and reporter with her powerful fire types, Wikstrom, an honorable trainer with an iron will who specialized in steel types, Drasna, a powerful Dragon trainer whose calm nature can tame the harshness of Dragons, finally Siebold the famous Kalos chef with his powerful water types. The outside of the league itself looked like a palace made of stone and glass maybe crystal instead of glass but Ash couldn't tell the difference especially when he finally made it inside. Each room or chamber had perfectly chiseled walls, and an astounding floor as well as its own gimmick to match the type of the person in the room. This final room where Ash and his friends were now though, was on a whole other level. It was much larger than the previous rooms; the walls were a perfect elegant white that shined, illuminating the whole room even without the help of the light from the ceiling. On the floor were designs representing all eighteen types in a ring and then a ring of flowers and finally a Pokeball. That wasn't what Ash cared about though. He was amazed by the room but he smiled when he saw Diantha. Diantha looked as if she had been waiting for him for a while.
"You finally made it Ash the final room, the radiant chamber," said Diantha.
"Yup it was hard but I made it all the way through." said Ash, "With my Pokemon and my friends."
"You know I was very impressed with your victory over Alain and then your work against team flare. Wow, you are quite the amazing trainer. You already almost beat my Gardevoir once with your Greninja but now you have to go against my whole team. Are you ready?" asked the Kalos champion and actor though she immediately knew the answer to her question.
"Yeah, I am, me and my Pokemon are ready to battle you." said Ash with a grin and a fist pump in the air.
"Pikachu!" said Pikachu with the same smile as his trainer and the same fist pump.
"Okay then let's begin." Diantha snapped her fingers and the floor began to change. The edges of the enormous room stayed the same so Serena, Clemont and Bonnie were fine watching from the edge of the room.
"Woah Clemont what's going on?" asked Bonnie in a worried tone.
"Denene," said Denenne, sharing the same worried tone as Bonnie.
"Don't worry the floor is just changing so the room can be made more battle-ready," explained Clemont comforting his little sister.
Serena thought in her head Oh Ash, I know you can do this you made it so far. I, no we believe in you.
Ash and Pikachu were a little confused but they were too excited to be worried. The changes ended when the battlefield wasn't a rectangle rather than a square almost reaching the edge of the room. On opposite edges where Ash's friends didn't sit, Camera men and women entered the room ready to broadcast the momentous battle not just to Kalos but the world. Ash knew at least five people were watching his battle outside of Kalos, his mom, professor Oak, Mimey, Tracy, and Max, that little kid watched every single one of Ash's league battles after they met.
"This battle will be seen all around the world, Ash, let's put on a show," said Diantha, giving a little pose.
"Alright, this is a champion title match between Ash the challenger and Diantha the defending champion, this will be a six on six pokemon battle, the battle is over when one side's Pokemon are unable to battle, both trainers are allowed substitutions and the winner will be given the title of Kalos champion. You may send out your first Pokemon. Let the battle begin." said the ref.
"Okay let's see what you got Ash no holding back, Hawlucha you're up. Show the world your elegant power," said Diantha as she flung forth her Pokeball which shined in the radiant room before unleashing a Hawlucha. The Hawlucha gave a powerful pose that would intimate any pokemon.
Ash was already getting pumped up, "A Hawlucha cool, hmm, I think I'll make this a Hawlucha vs Hawlucha match." Ash threw his own Pokeball and out came another Hawlucha.
Bonnie said, "Leave it to Ash to fight one Pokemon with the same Pokemon."
Clemont said, "No less the champion's."
Serena said, "If anyone can do it, it's Ash."
Clemont and Bonnie nodded and said, "Right."
Ash said, "I'll start this battle off, go Hawlucha use karate chop."
Diantha said, "dodge it then use sword's dance."
"Lucha," said Ash's Hawlucha as he darted over to Diantha's with a glowing arm ready to strike.
"Hawlucha," said Diantha's Hawlucha, jumping away to the side before the opposing Hawlucha could hit it. Diantha's Hawlucha then summoned four swords of light that flew around it giving it a boost of strength.
"Hawlucha get back in there and use X-scissor," said Ash.
"Lucha!" shouted Hawlucha before pivoting to face Diantha's Hawlucha. Hawlucha then crossed his arms which started to glow with purple energy and rushed to hit Diantha's Hawlucha.
"Hawlucha use your own X-scissor," said Diantha.
"Haw," said Diantha's Hawlucha, changing its stance to match Ash's Hawlucha.
The two Hawluchas slammed into each other causing a flash of purple light as their arms met and clashed. Ash's Hawlucha winced a bit more than Diantha's but then held their ground and they went to wing to wing combat. Slapping each other, punching each other, over and over until Diantha's Hawlucha grabbed Ash's Hawlucha and tossed him to the side.
Clemont said, "Ah, I see Diantha used swords dance to make sure that her Hawlucha would have an edge against Ash's."
Serena said, "What that's not good."
Ash smiled to everyone but Pikachu's surprise. Everyone watching Ash even on tv, even the ones he knew were surprised.
"Hawlucha use Flying press now."
"What!" shouted everyone in the room except Ash.
"Lucha!" said Hawlucha doing a spin midair before soaring downward using the momentum of the toss to power the attack and to catch everyone off guard. Diantha's Hawlucha was hit by the attack taking a lot of damage. Her Hawlucha still got up but it was weakened.
"Wow, Ash, that was a nice move. You really are quite the character but we aren't done," said Diantha, "Hawlucha use sword's dance again."
"Haw!" shouted Diantha's Hawlucha summoning swords again to increase its strength.
"Hawlucha use karate chop," said Ash.
"Lucha," said Hawlucha before rushing to strike Diantha's Hawlucha.
"Use Poison jab," said Diantha. Hawlucha's arm glowed but unlike Ash's Hawlucha with its white glow it had a purple glow to it.
"Hawlucha," said Diantha's Hawlucha. The two Hawlucha fought. Ash's Hawlucha was going more offensive swinging its arms trying to hit the other Hawlucha with his arm while Diantha's Hawlucha blocked every blow with its purple glowing arms.
"Use high jump kick," said Ash.
"Hawlucha!" shouted Ash's Hawlucha quickly slamming its knee into the other Hawlucha with a powerful force sending Diantha's Hawlucha flying.
"Uh! Hawlucha!" shouted Diantha with concern. Her Hawlucha fell but it was still ready to fight. Ash's Hawlucha however fell to a knee, it was poisoned.
"No Hawlucha," said Ash.
"Pika," said Pikachu with concern for his friend.
"Lucha," said Hawlucha, still willing to fight.
"This is really bad." said Clemont, "Hawlucha is now weak and poisoned."
"What's Ash going to do?" asked Bonnie.
"I don't know but he'll be fine," said Serena.
"Now Hawlucha use Flying press," said Diantha pointing her arm and finger at Ash's Hawlucha like she was declaring something important in a movie.
"Hawlucha you use flying press too," said Ash.
"Hawlucha Lucha!" shouted both Hawlucha. Both Hawlucha jumped high in the air and flew at each other. Both flew at each other and slammed their bodies onto each other but Diantha's Hawlucha was stronger and took Ash's Hawlucha down. Diantha's Hawlucha flew back to Diantha but when the smoke from the attack cleared Ash's Hawlucha still stood.
Clemont, Bonnie, and Serena, as well as most people watching, were surprised but Diantha expected it.
"Yeah Hawlucha you got this," said Ash.
"Lucha," said Hawlucha, giving a flashy pose.
"I wouldn't be so sure of that though you did put up a great fight," said Diantha.
"Lucha—" said Hawlucha but its eyes went wide and then it cringed in pain from the poison and finally fell to the ground defeated.
"Ash's Hawlucha is unable to battle, Diantha's Hawlucha wins." said the ref.
"You did great Hawlucha return," said Ash. Ash pulled out Hawlucha's Pokeball and recalled the Pokemon but as the beam of light hit the fighting bird he refused to go in the ball.
"Hawlucha, get in the Pokeball, you need a rest," said Ash.
"Hawlucha." said Hawlucha getting back up, "Lucha Lucha cha."
"What, you want to stay and watch," said Ash.
"Lucha," said Hawlucha pointing at one of Ash's Pokeballs.
"Oh, I see okay come on over here with Pikachu and me," said Ash.
"Lucha," said Hawlucha running over to Ash.
"Okay, come on out Noivern," said Ash.
"Vern vern," said Noivern as it came out of its Pokeball.
"Ooh a Noivern that is quite the powerful pokemon let's see what it's got," said Diantha.
"Noivern take flight," said Ash.
"Lucha." cheered Hawlucha.
"Vern," said Noivern as it took to the air.
"Awe that's so cute Hawlucha stayed out to watch Noivern," said Serena. She didn't want to admit this in front of everyone watching, even Bonnie for risk of embarrassment. But raising Noivern when he was just an adorable Noibat really gotten to her, in a good way. Serena felt proud, no doubt Ash felt the same way.
"And Noivern is going to avenge Hawlucha," said Bonnie.
"Yeah and Diantha's Hawlucha is weaker now," said Clemont.
"Hawlucha wait for the right time and then use poison jab," said Diantha.
"Noivern use boomburst," said Ash. Noivern then blasted a high powered blast of soundwaves.
"Hawlucha dodge it then counter-attack," said Diantha.
"Haw Hawlucha," said Diantha's Hawlucha before jumping in the air dodging the sound attack, and then hitting Noivern with a poisonous blow.
"Noi noivern." screeched Noivern as it was hit.
"Hawlucha," said Ash's Hawlucha, worried for Noivern.
"No Noivern," said Ash.
"Hawlucha use Flying Press," said Diantha. Diantha's Hawlucha flipped off of Noivern after its attack and then prepared to attack Noivern who was finally under Diantha's Hawlucha.
Ash said, "Noivern use acrobatics."
Ash's Hawlucha cheered, "Lucha Haw."
Pikachu cheered, "Pikachu!" Noivern glowed light blue and then zipped through the air dodging Diantha's Hawlucha's attack before finally striking it from the side. Diantha's Hawlucha was defeated.
"Hawlucha is unable to battle Noivern wins." said the ref."You fought well, thank you." said Diantha before recalling Hawlucha, "Okay go Tyrantrum use head smash."
"Tyrantrum!" roared Tyrantrum as it came out of its Pokeball. Tyrantrum pushed off its legs to jump in the sky with its head glowing blue with power.
"Noivern use acrobatics again," said Ash.
"noivern!" said Noivern before darting to the side dodging the attack and then slamming its glowing blue body into Tyrantrum side. The fossil Pokemon took damage but got back up roaring, "Rantrum!"
"I should have known that wasn't going to work. Tyrantrum use dragon claw," said Diantha. Tyrantrum rushed over to slash Noivern out of the sky with its green glowing claws.
"Noivern you use dragon claw too," said Ash. Noivern and Tyrantrum slashed at each other with their claws. Noivern took slightly more damage from each hit but was also able to land more attacks on Tyrantrum whose little arms were unable to reach every time.
"Tyrantrum use crunch now," said Diantha. Tyrantrum then bit down on Noivern practically trapping him in a headlock with its teeth.
"What the—" said Ash, Clemont, Serena, and Bonnie.
"Lucha!" screamed Hawlucha in panic.
"Pika pika pika," said Pikachu trying to calm Hawlucha down.
"Noivern use boomburst," said Ash.
"From inside Tyrantrum mouth!?" said Clemont. astonished at such a maneuver.
"That's Ash for you," said Serena.
"Look I think it's going to work," said Bonnie. Noivern unleashed a powerful blast of sound inside Tyrantrum's mouth. The sound echoed into the fossil Pokemon's entire body causing it to take a lot of damage. Tyrantrum let Noivern go and it escaped the savage bite.
"Now keep up the pressure with supersonic," said Ash.
"Noivern vern," said Noivern before shooting a different sound out of its ears. The sound did not do damage but it did confuse the pokemon.
"No Tyrantrum return, you did great, take a well deserved rest you'll need it for later, go Aurous," said Diantha recalling the Despot Pokemon. Calling out her Tundra Pokemon.
"Wow an Aurorus." said Serena, "it's so beautiful."
"And powerful I bet," said Clemont.
"Yeah." nodded Serena.
"Wow you got some cool pokemon Diantha," said Ash.
"Same to you Ash I love how your Hawlucha is sticking out of its Pokeball to cheer on your Noivern even though it probably needs rest and your Pikachu too," said Diantha.
"Thanks but back to the battle Noivern use Boomburst," said Ash.
"Noiverrrrrrn," said Noivern as it blasted a powerful soundwave at Aurorus.
"Use light screen," said Diantha.
"Auroooorus," said Aurorus, blocking most of the attack.
"That was a good move on Diantha's part. Light screen is a move that resists special attacks like boomburst," said Clemont.
"Urh that's going to make things a little harder," said Ash.
"Hawlucha," said Hawlucha, telling Ash to keep trying.
"Yeah okay Noivern use dragon claw full power," said Ash.
"Not on my watch use blizzard Aurorus," said Diantha.
"Auroorus!" shouted Aurorus before blasted Noivern away with a storm of snow. Noivern took a lot of damage from that one single icy attack.
"Oh no that was an ice type move that will be super effective," said Clemont.
"That's not good," said Serena.
"No noivern," said Bonnie.
"Hawlucha," said Hawlucha while motioning his hands to try to get Ash to use Acrobatics.
"Oh okay let's try that," said Ash but before Ash could call the attack.
"Aurorus use thunder," said Diantha. Aurorus became surrounded by electrical energy and launched it at Noivern.
"Ah dang it, Noivern use dragon claw to block," said Ash. Noivern shielded itself with its claws to block the electrical attack.
"Keep on the pressure," said Diantha, "Use blizzard again."
"Aurorrrrrus!" said Aurorus before its sails glowed and it unleashed another flurry of snow.
"Noivern block it with boomburst," said Ash.
"Noiverrrn," said Noivern before shooting a blast of soundwaves. The waves of sound and the blizzard clashed and resulted in an explosion.
Ash saw his chance to get Diantha on the defensive again and said, "Noivern use acrobatics."
Hawlucha cheered, "Hawlucha lucha."
Noivern said, "Noivern." before darting through the smoke which was no problem for the sound wave Pokemon and hitting Aurorus but just like the boomburst, the attack was resisted by a yellow barrier.
"I knew you would try something like that so I had Aurorus use reflect to make your attack less effective. Now Aurorus finish this with Blizzard," said Diantha.
"Aurorrrrus," said Aurorus, blasting the vulnerable Noivern with icy winds and snow. Noivern fainted.
"Noivern is unable to battle, Aurorus wins." said the ref.
"Noivern return you did great," said Ash.
"Lucha lucha," said Hawlucha agreeing with Ash.
"Pikachu," said Pikachu. Hawlucha then stumbled to the ground.
"You return too Hawlucha, you really need a rest too," said Ash.
"Lucha," said Hawlucha as he went into the Pokeball.
"Okay let's see who's next I got it, go Talonflame. You're up," said Ash.
"Talonflame!" said Talonflame as it came out of its Pokeball showing off its spectacular wings.
"Talonflame is a good choice since it will be able to do better against that blizzard," said Serena with a hopeful smile.
"But it is also vulnerable to Aurorus' thunder attack," said Clemont.
"Talonflame huh, well I guess if you are turning up the heat so will we, Aurorus use thunder," said Diantha. Aurorus became surrounded by electric energy and unleashed a bolt of electricity at Talonflame.
"Talonflame dodge it and use double team then flame charge," said Ash.
"Talonflame," said Talonflame before soaring through the air dodging the bolt of lightning and then creating duplicates of itself. Talonflame and its duplicates then became engulfed in fire and slammed into Aurorus, despite the lack of power Talonflame was able to attack multiple times each time getting faster and faster.
"We need to get rid of those copies use Blizzard," said Diantha. Aurorus created another powerful cold freezing storm which destroyed all the Talonflame duplicates.
"Now one more time Talonflame use flame charge," called Ash.
"Flame flame!" shouted Talonflame before become engulfed in fire and blazed into the snowstorm before it crashed into Aurorus again causing an explosion of steam.
"Now use steel wing," said Ash. Talonflame's wings glowed silver and with a slash of its wing the yellow barrier around it shattered and Aurous was hit by the double super effective attack.
"Auuuuur," said Aurorus before it fell to the floor defeated.
"Aurorus is unable to battle Talonflame wins." said the ref.
"You did a splendid job Aurorus take a well deserved rest." said Diantha, "This is pretty fun Ash it's been a while since I have met a person who loves battling as much as you. It really is a great feeling."
"And it is just getting started," said Ash.
"Pikachu," said Pikachu, agreeing with his partner.
"Yeah so let's keep it going, go Gourgeist," said Diantha. Diantha tossed its ball and out came a Gourgeist of average size, "Use Trick-or-Treat."
"Gouuurgeist," said Gourgeist shining its light on the ground causing a rush of beams out of the ground that looked like spirits. Talonflame flashed purple but neither it nor Ash noticed.
"Hey what does that move do?" asked Serena.
"Well Trick-or-Treat is a move that adds the ghost typing to a Pokemon," said Clemont.
"Huh, I wonder why Diantha used that move," said Serena.
"Use flame charge and steel wing," said Ash.
"Talonflame," called Talonflame before becoming engulfed in fire and flashing its wings. Talonflame then charged.
"Gourgeist use Phantom force," said Diantha. Gourgeist ducked into a purple portal dodging Talonflame just barely.
"What?" said Ash in confusion.
"Talon?" questioned a surprised Talonflame.
"Oh no I know why Diantha had Gourgeist use Trick-or-Treat," said Clemont in some distress.
"Why?" asked Serena.
"Well you see, since Talonflame is now part ghost type, moves like Phantom force will be super effective," said Clemont.
"Talonflame use flame charge again wait for it to come back; we can't wait for it," said Ash. Talonflame was about to charge but then Gourgeist popped out of a portal startling Talonflame and dealing massive super effective damage.
"Now Gourgeist use seed bomb," said Diantha.
"Talonflame use steel wing then flame charge," said Ash.
"Gourgeist," said Gourgeist, shooting a massive seed at Talonflame. Talonflame cut through the seed with its wing and then with its wing still shining like steel it charged forward burning with fire. Talonflame finally hit Gourgeist with massive damage.
"Now Talonflame use double team," said Ash. Talonflame then made duplicates of itself and they flew around to confuse its opponent.
"Gourgeist use shadow sneak," said Diantha.
"Use steel wing," said Ash. All the Talonflames' wings flashed silver while Gourgeist disappeared into a shadow before destroying half of the Talonflames and finally hitting the real one before getting hit itself by a sharp wing. It was obvious both Pokemon were getting tired. Talonflame more than Gourgeist though.
"Talonflame return for now." said Ash, "You were good but I think you need a rest. You're finally up buddy."
"Pika!" said Pikachu, jumping out to the field.
"So Pikachu is finally out on the field now things should really get interesting." said Diantha, "Okay Gourgeist use seed bomb."
"Gourgeist!" said Gourgeist, shooting out a massive seed at Pikachu.
"Pikachu knock it back with iron tail then follow up with thunderbolt," said Ash.
"Pika pi," said Pikachu, doing a flip right as the seed came knocking back at Gourgeist with iron tail.
Gourgeist didn't dodge and it took damage from its own deflected attack. Pikachu then jumped up and released his powerful thunderbolt move further damaging Gourgeist.
"Gourgeist use Trick-or-Treat," said Diantha. Gourgeist again flashed its light on the ground causing ghost-like rays to swirl around Pikachu.
"Oh no now Pikachu is a ghost type too," said Bonnie.
"Okay now Gourgeist use shadow sneak," said Diantha.
"Gourgeist," said Gourgeist before melting into a shadow.
"Pikachu use quick attack," said Ash.
"Pika," said Pikachu before darting out with no particular target.
"But normal type moves have no effect on Gourgeist," said Clemont.
"But look Gourgeist can't keep up with Pikachu even in its shadow," said Serena.
"Ah, that must be what Ash was getting at," said Clemont. Gourgeist finally came out of its shadow right before Pikachu passed right through it.
"Now use electro ball," said Ash.
"Pikachu," said Pikachu, forming a ball of electricity on its tail before sending the ball at Gourgeist.
"Gourgeist dodge using phantom force," said Diantha. Gourgeist did just that and hid away in a portal.
"Pikachu quick attack again," said Ash.
"That trick won't work twice Ash, now Gourgeist," said Diantha. A purple portal opened up near Pikachu and out came Gourgeist but again Pikachu just darted right through it.
"Now Pikachu thunderbolt," said Ash.
"Pika Pikachu!" shouted Pikachu before firing off another bolt of electricity. Gourgeist was hit again and after all this damage it fainted.
"Gourgeist is unable to battle Pikachu is the winner." called the ref.
"You were amazing now your back out Tyrantrum," said Diantha unleashing the powerful fossil Pokemon once again.
"Tyran!" roared Tyrantrum.
"Okay, Pikachu use quick attack," said Ash. Pikachu then darted out to attack the Tyrantrum.
"Tyrantrum use crunch," said Diantha. Pikachu was able to land attack after attack on the rock and dragon type though the quick attacks did little to no damage to Tyrantrum. Tyrantrum on the other hand tried to bite Pikachu with its massive jaws.
"Now Pikachu use thunderbolt," said Ash.
"Tyrantrum use crunch," said Diantha. Pikachu jumped high into the air and shot a bolt of lightning but Tyrantrum with its massive jaws crushed it in its mouth.
"What?!" said Ash, Serena, Clemont, and Bonnie.
"Pika!?" said Pikachu, also confused.
"Tyrantrum now use dragon claw," said Diantha.
"Pikachu use electro ball," said Ash. Pikachu formed a ball of electricity on its tail and threw it at Tyrantrum.
"Use crunch," said Diantha. Like with the other electric attack Tyrantrum crushed the attack in its jaws before continuing to attack Pikachu.
"Pikachu block with iron tail," said Ash.
"Pika," said Pikachu slapping away Tyrantrum's claws with his metallic tail.
"Crunch again," said Diantha. Tyrantrum caught Pikachu by the tail and swung the electric Pokemon in the air before tossing him to the ground. Pikachu rolled on the dirt then struggled to get up.
"Come on Pikachu you can do this," said Ash.
"Pikachu," said Pikachu determined to fight.
"You are determined I'll give you that but now to finish this Tyrantrum use earthquake," said Diantha. Tyrantrum jumped up and then slammed both its feet into the ground causing the ground to shake violently.
"Pikachu use iron tail to ground yourself," said Ash. Pikachu flipped around and slammed its tail into the ground, weakening the attack's effect on Pikachu. When the attack ended Diantha saw this as her chance.
"Use head smash Tyrantrum," said Diantha.
"Rantrum!" roared Tyrantrum before charging forward.
"Pikachu get out of there," said Ash.
"Pi pika," said Pikachu trying to pull his tail out from the ground but it was too late, Pikachu was freed from the ground but by Tyrantrum's powerful attack. Pikachu was slammed into one of the walls. Tyrantrum did take damage but Pikachu got the worst of it.
"Pikachu!" said Ash as he rushed over to his partner.
"Pika," said Pikachu, getting up despite the bruises and the feeling of fatigue. Pikachu was determined to keep fighting but Ash knew that Pikachu couldn't even land a good blow on Tyrantrum.
"Pikachu take a rest for now." said Ash, "come on I'll need you later buddy."
"Pikachu," said Pikachu, accepting knowing he couldn't go on like this.
"Okay time for a new strategy." said Ash, "Go Talonflame."
"Talonflame," said Talonflame, looking better than from before the last fight but still a bit tired.
"Okay Talonflame use flame double team then use steel wing again and again," said Ash.
"Pika!" cheered Pikachu.
"Talonflame!" said Talonflame before duplicating with fakes flying all around. Diantha took a moment. Talonflame struck and struck Tyrantrum but even though it was angry it stayed calm for Diantha. Diantha then found the real Talonflame and said, "Now use crunch." in that split second Tyrantrum bit down hard somehow yanking the real Talonflame out of the sky by the wing.
"No Talonflame!" said Ash. Right as it looked like Diantha had Talonflame right where she wanted it preparing to call her next move. Sparks shimmered across Tyrantrum's body. It was paralyzed in that moment of weakness Talonflame was freed but Diantha was ready to counter.
"Tyrantrum use dragon claw back to back," she said.
"Wow Tyrantrum is paralyzed that must have been from its battle with Pikachu," said Serena.
"Yeah and now Ash can really push against Tyrantrum," said Clemont.
"Yeah Ash, go Talonflame." cheered Bonnie.
"Denne," said Dedenne.
"Talonflame use steel wing," said Ash. Talonflame and Tyrantrum had a close-range fight slashing green glowing claws against metalized wings. They fought for a while Talonflame sneaking an extra hit every time the fossil Pokemon felt the effects of its paralysis. Eventually, the fighting got to its climax.
"Tyrantrum use crunch," said Diantha.
"Tyran!" shouted Tyrantrum but right before it was going to bite down on Talonflame it felt the effects of its paralysis stopping its attack.
"Now Talonflame finish this with brave bird," said Ash.
"Talon! Flame!" shouted Talonflame before it charged forward full speed becoming engulfed in a blue aura.
"Tyrantrum use head smash." said Diantha.
"Tyrantrum!" shouted Tyrantrum charging towards the opposing force with a blue energy engulfing its head. The two powerful forces met and caused an explosion. When the dust cleared though Talonflame was knocked out. Tyrantrum was really feeling the effects of those attacks and stumbled but it stayed up.
"Talonflame is unable to battle Tyrantrum is the winner." said the ref.
"You were amazing Talonflame take a nice rest," said Ash, "Okay now let's do this Goodra I choose you." He said aloud as he threw his next pokeball.
"Goodra!" said Goodra.
"Hmm a Goodra, Tyrantrum use head smash." said Diantha. Tyrantrum rushed forward headfirst and glowing blue.
"Tyrantrum!" said Tyrantrum.
"Goodra use bide," said Ash.
"Goodra!" said Goodra. Goodra became outlined in white and took the full force of the attack. Goodra was knocked back a little.
"Now keep it up with dragon claw," said Diantha.
"Stay strong Goodra," said Ash.
"Pikachu," said Pikachu. Tyrantrum slashed at Goodra using its claws tearing at Goodra.
"Tyrantrum use crunch," said Diantha. Goodra cringed from the attacks. Tyrantrum was about to bite down on Goodra but then it felt the effects of its paralyzation and failed to attack.
"Goodra," said Goodra shooting a powerful beam of white light hitting Tyrantrum knocking it away. Tyrantrum fell to the floor defeated.
"Tyrantrum is unable to battle Goodra wins." said the ref.
"Tyrantrum return you did great." said Diantha, "Well I only have two Pokemon left you already know who I am saving for last but here is my next Pokemon, come on out Goodra."
"Goodra," said Diantha's Goodra as it came out of its Pokeball.
"Woah you have a Goodra too," said Ash.
"Yeah I was actually surprised you had a Goodra as well," said Diantha.
"Wow they both have a Goodra and a Hawlucha." said Bonnie, "that's so cool."
"Yeah it really is." said Clemont, "But last time Ash fought Diantha with the same Pokemon he lost."
"Ash can do it through this time Goodra is strong," said Serena.
"Okay Goodra you got this," said Ash.
"Pika," said Pikachu.
"Okay Goodra, use Dragon Pulse," said Diantha.
"You use Dragon pulse too Goodra," said Ash.
"Goodra!" shouted both Goodra before shooting purple dragon-shaped beams at each other. The two beams clashed in the center of the field and caused an explosion neither side overpowering the other.
"Wow they were equal in power," said Serena.
"Yeah that is really impressive," said Clemont.
"Go Goodra," said Bonnie.
"Dedenne," said Dedenne.
"Wow your Goodra is impressive but let's see if you can handle this use fire blast," said Diantha.
"Goodra," said Diantha's Goodra before firing a giant blast of fire from its mouth.
"Goodra use rain dance then bide," said Ash.
"Goodra!" shouted Ash's Goodra calling forth a storm of rain in the room. Ash's Goodra was then hit by the fire blast while glowing white.
"Now Goodra use Focus blast," said Diantha. Diantha's Goodra formed a couple of light blue spheres, its Gooey antenna like horns, and then it flung both at Ash's Goodra. Ash's Goodra winced a bit but it took both attacks.
"Hang in there Goodra now let 'em have it," said Ash.
"Goodra!" shouted Ash's Goodra as it fired a white beam of light from all its pent up energy.
"Use fire blast," said Diantha. Diantha's Goodra fired off another blast of fire from its mouth but the beam of white light from Ash's Goodra was too strong and it pierced right through the blast of fire destroying it.
Diantha's Goodra was hit by the incredibly strong attack, its whole body being hit by the beam.
"Goodra counter attack with another fire blast," said Diantha.
"Goodra use ice beam then follow up with a dragon pulse," said Ash. Diantha's Goodra shot another blast of fire from its mouth; the five-pronged fire star flew towards Ash's Goodra. Ash's Goodra hit that fire blast with a beam of icy energy surprising everyone the ice beam negated the fiery attack.
"What!?" shouted just about everyone watching on TV and everyone in that room.
"Goodra," said Ash's Goodra taking advantage of this moment of distraction to fire its other beam of dragon energy. Diantha's Goodra was caught off guard and took the full force of the super effective attack.
"But how…" started Diantha as the answer just fell on her.
"The rain, rainy weather weakens fire attacks," said Clemont.
"Wait but then." started Serena
"The ice beam was stronger than the fire blast very clever Ash," said Diantha.
"Yup, and I knew it would surprise everyone so I knew I could land a really good attack," said Ash.
"Well don't expect that to work again, Goodra use Muddy water," said Diantha.
"Goodra use ice beam on the water quick," said Ash. Diantha was hoping that the new move would throw Ash off guard but Ash was quick to think of a way to counter it. Diantha's Goodra summoned a wave of muddy water but Ash's Goodra quickly froze it before it could make contact or even get close.
"Goodra now use focus blast," said Diantha. Diantha's Goodra formed a blue ball of light in its gooey antenne horns and threw it at Ash's Goodra.
"Goodra use bide," said Ash. Ash's Goodra took the hit but Diantha was hoping for this.
"Now Goodra finish this use fire blast," said Diantha. Diantha's Goodra formed another star of fire and launched it at Ash's Goodra. The rain was still going but the attack was strong enough to melt the frozen muddy water and so Ash's Goodra was not going to be hit by one attack but two and unlike the fire attack the muddy water was even stronger in the water. Ash's Goodra could do nothing to stop it.
"No Goodra," said Ash but it was too late.
"Gooodra!" shouted Goodra as it was hit by burning heat and cold dirty water. The heat and the water caused a steamy explosion. When the steam cleared Ash's Goodra was still up it didn't have enough energy to shoot out its beam of energy but it did have enough energy to shout, "Goodraaa!" right before it fainted.
"Ash's Goodra is unable to battle Diantha's Goodra is the winner." said the ref.
"Goodra return you did all you could and I can't thank you enough." said Ash, "Wow Diantha you really are strong but we aren't giving up 'til it's over, Pikachu you're up again buddy I know you can do this."
"Pikachu," said Pikachu.
"Pikachu's taken quite a beating from Tyrantrum, I hope it has enough energy to take on Goodra, this may actually be the difference between winning and losing this match," said Clemont.
"What do you mean?" asked Serena, "They both still have one more Pokemon left."
"Yes but if that next Pokemon gets too tired from fighting the remaining Pokemon from this match then it might already be over," said Clemont.
"Pikachu can do it," said Bonnie.
"Dedenne," shouted Dedenne cheering loud for Pikachu.
"Pikachu huh, I hope Tyrantrum hasn't tired him out too much," said Diantha.
"Same to your Goodra but with my Goodra, okay Pikachu start this off with a thunderbolt," said Ash.
"Goodra counter with dragon pulse," said Diantha.
"Goodra," said Diantha's Goodra.
"Pikachu," said Pikachu. Both Pokemon fired off bolts of energy, one dragon, and the other electric. The two attacks met and caused an explosion.
Ash was the first to react, "Pikachu use quick attack."
"Pika," said Pikachu before darting out of the smoke to strike Goodra.
"Goodra use muddy water," said Diantha.
"Goo!" said Goodra, summoning another wave of muddy water. Pikachu was caught in the wave and washed back.
"Oh no, I guess getting up close isn't an option," said Serena.
"Yeah and Pikachu can't block that attack or use it against Diantha's Goodra, the electricity won't flow through all the mud in that water," said Clemont.
"Okay Goodra now keep hitting hard with a focus blast," said Diantha. Her Goodra threw a blue ball of energy at Pikachu.
"Pikachu counter with iron tail," said Ash.
"Pika," said Pikachu. Pikachu jumped in the air and cut straight through the orb of light that was thrown at it.
"Now use thunderbolt," said Ash.
"Goodra use fire blast," said Diantha. Goodra fired another blast of fire but it was weakened by the rain that was still falling. Pikachu's thunderbolt was not strong enough to pierce through it but it was enough to block it causing another explosion.
"Now Pikachu use Electro ball," said Ash. Pikachu formed a ball of electric energy and flung it at Goodra.
"Use focus blast," said Diantha. Diantha's Goodra tossed a blue orb of energy but it was nothing compared to the electric orb hitting her Goodra hard.
"Now Pikachu use quick attack," said Ash.
"Use muddy water," said Diantha. Diantha's Goodra summoned another wave of water but Pikachu did seem worried.
"Now Pikachu jump and use thunderbolt," said Ash. Pikachu broke from its dash and shot its signature bolt of energy, the same bolt that made a trio of villains obsess about it. Goodra was not ready to counter in time and took the shot feeling shocked.
"Pikachu use iron tail," said Ash. Pikachu flipped in the air and finished the unprepared Goodra with a slash of its tail. Diantha was not able to do anything about it.
"Diantha's Goodra is unable to battle Pikachu wins." said the ref.
"Yeah we did it buddy," said Ash.
"Pikachu," said Pikachu with a bright smile.
"Goodra return you did great. Ash, you never fail to impress but you know as well as I do you aren't done you aren't even close in fact the battle has just begun really," said Diantha.
"Yup," said Ash as he nodded with a determined and excited face he knew everything all came down to this. Ash wiped sweat from his forehead, if he failed here and now…. the thrill of battle excited him to no end, he couldn't afford to lose now.
'No, nows not the time Ketchum, you got this' Ash thought to himself.
"Yeah," said Ash as he nodded with a determined and excited face he knew everything he had done on this journey was leading up to this.
"Okay go Gardevoir it is finally time for you to shine," said Diantha. Her final Pokeball flew through the air as everyone had their eyes on it. Diantha's ace, her partner. The Pokeball was the most amazing thing in the room of elegance in the radiant chamber. Gardevoir came out in its glorious splendor with the same serious expression it used in battle. The rain, Goodra's gift, finally stopped falling.
"Okay buddy this is it let's go." said Ash, "Okay Pikachu use thunderbolt." Like before Diantha didn't even need to say anything and Gardevoir was able to dodge the electric bolt. Moving as fast as a flash.
"Now Gardevoir use shadow ball," said Diantha. Gardevoir formed a dark ball of energy and launched it at Pikachu.
"Pikachu use quick attack," said Ash. Pikachu darted past the ball of shadowy energy that rocketed towards him and then rushed to hit Gardevoir.
"Gardevoir use reflect," said Diantha. Gardevoir formed a blue shield of energy around itself.
"Pikachu use iron tail," said Ash. Pikachu jumped and slashed the shield dealing less damage but still dealing super effective damage to Gardevoir.
"That's enough Gardevoir finish this with psychic," said Diantha. Gardevoir's eyes glowed blue and Pikachu became trapped in its psychic grip.
"Oh no," said Serena and Bonnie.
"This isn't good," said Clemont.
"Urh," grunted Ash knowing it was already over. Gardevoir slammed Pikachu into the floor with incredible force, enough to outmatch almost any fighting type. Pikachu was laying down in a crater made by the force of the attack unable to continue to fight.
The ref was silent for a second before saying, "Pikachu is unable to battle Gardevoir is the winner." Ash walked over and carried Pikachu over to Serena and the others in the stands.
"You did amazing buddy. Now take a rest and sit back and watch." said Ash, "Okay it's all up to you. Go Greninja." said Ash.
Greninja came standing tall, the ninja Pokemon had been waiting for this day ever since his last clash with the champion Pokemon, both he and Ash looked as determined as possible and Diantha matched this with a smile and her Gardevoir still had a thin grin on her face.
Ash didn't know this at the time but not only were Professor Oak, Tracy, Delia, Max, Bonnie, Clemont, and Serena watching this battle as well as now all the Kalos gym leaders, Professor Sycamore, Tierno, Trevor, Shauna, Sawyer, and Mairin and Alain watching but Aria, Palermo performers of Kalos, all the professors, and Gym leaders of Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, and even Alola and Galar, as well as many other places, were watching.
All the champions of the world were watching. All of Ash's rivals were watching. All of Ash's friend's rivals were watching. All his friends were watching. Even all of Ash's Pokemon were watching.
"It's down to this moment Ash, we are down to our final Pokemon. I remember the first time we battled. You faced me with Pikachu though Pikachu didn't do much to Gardevoir your bond rivaled ours and then with Greninja in our second battle you almost beat us. I knew you were something special, you even made it here, you even took down Team Flare to get here. You may have surprised me last time but this time will not be the same." said Diantha, "Let's see what you got Ash. This is the final battle. No holding back." Diantha wasted no time to grab her Keystone.
Streams of golden light came from Diantha's elegant keystone. Beams of light flew from Gardevoir's megastone as well the two sets of beams connected and Gardevoir became engulfed in an orange light. Gardevoir became Mega Gardevoir getting slightly shorter but also growing into more of a dress-like form looking even more beautiful than before and radiating power.
"Gardevoir!" said the now mega Gardevoir.
This is how things are going to end then, I can't believe I got this far. I really am here. It was a lot of work but we aren't done yet but we won't give up 'til it's over not 'til the very end. Time to show the world what I, no, what we got. Ash thought in his head.
He looked at Greninja how the Pokemon right in front of him once was a small little Froakie throwing its frubbles to battle. Ash had made so many memories with this Pokemon and this was going to be a brand new one.
"Yeah no holding back, let's do this Greninja full power let's go!" said Ash. Ash and Greninja were in perfect sync both ready for this battle waiting their whole lives for this one battle. Greninja became surrounded in a torrent of water but unlike the last time they fought Diantha and her Mega Gardevoir they mastered this ability and instantly became the being known as Ash-Greninja with its reddened fins and eyes.
"Greninja!" said Greninja finishing its transformation with a big water shuriken forming around its back out of the water it used to transform.
"Okay Greninja let's go use water shuriken," said Ash waving his hands as if he was also throwing something. Greninja didn't even need to hear the move, Greninja seemed to grab the water throwing stars from its legs and then launched both at Gardevoir. Gardevoir dodged on cue at Diantha's unspoken command to dodge.
"Greninja, let's keep them on the defensive use aerial ace," said Ash. Greninja rushed forward as its limbs gleamed bright white. Greninja ran at speeds faster than Pikachu's thunderbolt.
"Gardevoir block with reflect," said Diantha with a wave of her hand.
"Evoir," said Gardevoir, forming a shield of blue light that blocked Greninja's attack.
"Greninja use water shuriken again," said Ash.
"Greninja," said Greninja, throwing two water shurikens again. Gardevoir spun out of the way of both shurikens and prepared to attack again.
"Gardevoir use shadow ball," said Diantha. Gardevoir formed a ball of shadows in its hands and shot it at Greninja. Greninja was hit by the shadowy blob taking damage. Ash cringed in pain as Diantha landed the first blow of the battle.
"Pikachu," said Pikachu cheering on both Ash and Greninja.
"Greninja use double team and then cut," said Ash.
"Gren," said Greninja as it duplicated and then started circling Gardevoir with its copies.
"Gardevoir shadow ball again and again," said Diantha.
"Gard!" said Mega Gardevoir firing ball after ball to destroy a couple copies at a time.
"Now," said Ash as he swung his hand as if he was cutting something. Gardevoir had another ball of shadowy energy but the real Greninja darted and slashed Gardevoir with a blade of light in its hands. The ball of shadowy energy blew up its hands as it took damage.
"Gren," said Greninja as it finished the attack.
"Huh, huh." huffed Diantha, "Wow that was powerful. Gardevoir use moonblast." Mega Gardevoir became surrounded in pink energy that gleamed in the room and then it launched the powerful fairy type blast at Greninja who couldn't avoid the attack and took massive super effective damage. Ash cringed again.
"Pikachu." cheered Pikachu.
"Don't worry buddy," said Ash.
"Wow they are really going at it." said Serena, "so powerful."
"Yeah it's the two strongest trainers I know." said Bonnie, "A battle between Ash-Greninja and Mega Gardevoir yah, this is so cool."
"It could go to anyone." said Clemont, "this is going to be a close match, at least Gardevoir can't use psychic."
"What?!" asked Serena.
"Well Greninja is a dark-type so psychic type moves can't directly affect it so it should be fine." said Clemont.
"That's great." said Serena.
"Yeah." said Bonnie.
"Dedenne," said Dedenne.
"Okay Greninja use double team again," said Ash.
"Ninja," said Greninja before duplicating again and then rushing around Gardevoir.
"Gardevoir use shadow ball again," said Diantha. Gardevoir formed a massive blob of shadows, its hands, and unleashed a barrage of shadowy orbs that nearly wiped out all the copies.
"Now cut," said Ash. Greninja then slashed Gardevoir again somehow coming from behind dealing incredible damage to Gardevoir again.
"Urh," said Diantha, "Gardevoir use shadow ball." Gardevoir then attempted to hit Greninja but Greninja just sliced right through the attack.
"Greninja use water shuriken." said Ash.
"Greninja," said Greninja, launching another set of shurikens from its hands.
"That's it! Gardevoir use psychic on the shurikens," said Diantha.
"Ardevoir." said Gardevoir as its eyes glowed blue and a blue energy surrounded Greninja's water shurikens. Gardevoir forced the Shurikens back at Greninja. Greninja dodged both.
"Woah, so I guess Diantha found a way to use psychic anyway," said Serena.
"Wow nice move Diantha," said Ash.
"Yeah I don't think I'd have had to use psychic like that in a while," said Diantha.
"Well let's see if you can handle this Greninja use aerial ace up the ceiling," said Ash.
"What!?" said Diantha. Greninja broke into a run up the walls to Diantha and mega Gardevoir's surprise.
"Now use cut," said Ash. Greninja made it to the very top of the ceiling and then propelled off like Hawlucha would and held both its blades out while it spun down ready to hit Gardevoir.
"Gardevoir use reflect," said Diantha, seeing no way to dodge.
"Gard." said Gardevoir as it formed a barrier to block Greninja just barely being formed in time. Greninja and Gardevoir clashed, both looking at each other right in the eyes neither willing to give an inch but in the end, Greninja was repelled by the reflect.
"Okay use water shuriken," said Ash.
"Psychic," said Diantha. Greninja tossed a set of three water shurikens but like last time Gardevoir set all three sharp water throwing stars back at Greninja. Greninja dodged most of them but one just scratched its arm and Ash could feel it.
"Oh no, Diantha has made Greninja's water shuriken attack nearly useless." said Clemont, "and with reflect…"
"Ash can't land an attack." finished Serena.
"Urh," said Ash.
"Seems like you are losing steam," said Diantha.
"Ha, no way, let's go Greninja let's pick up the pace," said Ash.
"Pika!" shouted Pikachu.
"Greninja use double team," said Ash. Greninja duplicated again.
"Gardevoir use shadow ball," said Diantha. Gardevoir fired another flurry of shadow balls destroying all the duplicates again.
"Now use aerial ace," said Ash.
"Reflect," said Diantha. Greninja was just about to attack but Gardevoir blocked the attack. "Now use moonblast."
"Water Shuriken," said Ash.
"Pikachu!" cheered Pikachu. Gardevoir became surrounded in pink light again and launched a powerful pink blast at Greninja. Ash unlike the last water shurikens reached behind his back as Greninja did and Greninja flung its massive water shuriken. The two attacks met and caused an explosion on contact knocking back both Pokemon. Both Pokemon were standing after that.
"Now Gardevoir use shadow ball," said Diantha. Gardevoir fired off another shadow ball.
"Greninja cut then aerial ace," said Ash. Right before the ball of shadow hit Greninja, the ninja Pokemon cut right through it causing two parts of it to go flying off in opposite directions. Greninja then darted all the way to Gardevoir who dodged a couple times but Greninja wouldn't give up the chase and eventually hit Mega Gardevoir.
"No Gardevoir," said Diantha.
"Gardevoir." said Gardevoir recovering from the attack.
"Now Greninja use double team then use water shuriken," said Ash. Greninja duplicated and all its duplicates randomly launched water shurikens, one hitting Gardevoir.
"Gardevoir use shadow ball and psychic," said Diantha. Mega Gardevoir formed not one but several balls of shadow energy and then launched them all but instead of just flying off they spun and destroyed all the copies and hit the real Greninja.
"No Greninja. Urh," said Ash feeling the same pain as Greninja.
"Pika," said Pikachu concerned for Ash and Greninja.
"Come on Ash you can do it." cheered Serena, "Don't give up 'til it's over."
"Pika!" cheered Pikachu agreeing with Serena.
"Yeah Ash, don't give up." cheered Bonnie.
"Yeah you got this," said Clemont.
"You're all right, so let's do this Greninja, thanks you guys now let's go Greninja use water Shuriken," said Ash acting as if he was also about to throw a massive water shuriken.
"Gren," said Greninja as the shuriken grew a bit before Greninja launched it.
"Use psychic," said Diantha with a bit of hesitation. Gardevoir's eyes glowed blue and the same psychic energy surrounded the water shuriken but instead of sending it back or even redirecting it the water shuriken exploded into the water it was made of in all directions.
Though no one else thought this was important Diantha realized that Greninja's power no Ash and Greninja's power wasn't even close to being at its top that shuriken was only the sized Greninja used to beat Sawyer and his Sceptile but there was still that massive orange Shuriken they used to beat Alain and his Mega Charizard.
"Pika!" cheered Pikachu.
"Yeah Ash, go Greninja!" cheered Serena.
"You got this you two." cheered Bonnie.
"Dedenne," said Dedenne.
"The future is now thanks to you guys," said Clemont.
"Thanks, now Greninja use aerial ace." said Ash, "again and again."
"Gardevoir use shadow ball and psychic," said Diantha.
"Gardevoir!" said Mega Gardevoir before shooting ball after ball of shadowy energy even with Gardevoir guiding them with psychic Greninja either somehow dodge them or destroyed them with a kick or a punch. Greninja eventually made it to Gardevoir.
"Use reflect," said Diantha.
"Voir!" said Gardevoir forming a barrier around itself but it didn't repel Greninja, Greninja just kept hitting the shield and eventually broke through landing a strike but right after it was blasted away by a shadow ball.
"Incredible," said Diantha.
"Gardevoir," said Gardevoir, agreeing with her trainer.
"Pikachu." cheered Pikachu.
"It's been really fun Diantha like every battle. I wish it would never end but I think it's finally time. Greninja WATER SHURIKEN!" said Ash.
Ash and Greninja were at full intensity just like last time but unlike last time they had full control. Greninja formed a Giant water shuriken and just like with Alain a torrent of water rushed up powering up the Shuriken again to become even bigger than before it glowed orange like with Alain but that's not where it stopped the torrent flew up and powered up the shuriken even more to where it became bigger again and became red like Ash's hat, it even gained another set of points adding to a total of six. Greninja then spun in the air with a flip to throw the massive shuriken.
Diantha's face matched Alain's when he saw the attack that ended the battle for him, "Use Moonblast and shadow ball and psychic." Gardevoir had a look of surprise but formed a shadow ball just as massive as the last time they battled if not bigger and then formed a moonblast around it then used psychic to increase its speed. It was bigger than any electro ball Pikachu had ever launched or an Aura sphere any Lucario had ever created, it was even bigger than the water Shuriken. The two attacks met in the center but they didn't stay there for long. To everyone in the world's surprise, even Pikachu's and Greninja's the water Shuriken immediately cut right through the massive moonshadow blast, cutting it perfectly in half. The Shuriken then hit Gardevoir causing an explosion. Everyone knew what would happen next. When the smoke cleared there stood Mega Gardevoir but Diantha immediately came running to catch it as its form faded and it fell to the floor. Ash and Greninja were panting from the powerful attack they just used.
The ref called, "Gardevoir is unable to battle, Greninja is the winner, the match and the title of champion go to the challenger Ash Ketchum."
"Ash, you did it" Serena congratulated her crush with a beaming smile before hugging him with a few stray tears forming from her sheer happiness. Bonnie joined in on the hug practically squeezing him tightly. Clemont just chuckled.
The group went to a Pokemon center to heal up the Pokemon and ate dinner before turning in for the night anxious for the next day to arrive.
End flashback
As Ash had finished his story everyone around him had fallen asleep. It had seemed that it really tired them out, he chuckled. He glanced at Serena and smiled at her, she was barely awake but she was drifting in and out of consciousness as she yawned. "I loved that story Ash, can you tell the story about the Stantler with the glowing red nose?" Serena said sleepily. Grace giggled.
"So when are you going to tell her Ash?" Grace asked.
"I'm thinking tomorrow, she's been a big help during my journey through Kalos. She deserves to know" Ash explained seriously in a whisper to avoid waking the sleeping girl.
"It's time for bed" she said. Ash nodded and got comfortable on the couch with Serena on top of him ready for sleep to take him away.
"And, hey Ash?" Grace asked.
"Hm?" Ash said. Serena's mother went up to him and kissed his forehead and gave him a motherly smile.
"Welcome to the Yvonne family" Grace said with another happy smile before taking a blanket and draping it over the sleeping duo on the couch. Serena snuggled into him and the blanket with a happy smile
(The next morning)
It was christmas morning and everyone was awake. Excited to open their presents on what seemed like the perfect holiday. And for Ash it was gonna be extra special for himself and Serena. He was sure of it. He had to make it the best day of Serena's life, or he'd never live with himself if he kept his feelings to himself for ever. The two mothers were standing in the kitchen drinking tea. The two mothers joined the group in the living room, eager to join the festivities.
"Ok Clemont this one is yours" Ash said handing a present to his friend. He wasted no time opening it and he was surprised. He'd gotten a new toolbox.
"A new toolbox! Thank you Ash" Clement said thanking his raven haired friend. Ash nodded with a smile.
"Me next, me next me next" Bonnie chanted excitedly.
"Ok Bonnie" Ash chuckled. He handed the young girl her present and was shocked by what she got... an Eevee onesie.
"AWWWWWEEEE ITS SO CUTE" Bonnie squeaked loudly in sheer happiness. She ran excitedly to go put it on.
"Well... she seems happy" Ash said smiling while rubbing his ears from the sheer noise of her reaction.
"Hey Pikachu can you grab my backpack please?" Ash asked his yellow partner.
"Pika" Pikachu saluted making the others giggle in delight from his adorable salute.
Pikachu came back with Ash's backpack moments later, he was struggling to pull the bag as his trainer laughed and got up to grab it himself, relieving the yellow mouse making him sigh.
'I need to lift some weights or something' Pikachu thought to himself with a sweat drop.
"Hey Serena could we talk outside?" Ash asked.
"Sure Ash" Serena said.
(In the Backyard of Serena's house)
The two went outside to the back of the house, the two were extremely nervous at what he was gonna say. He gathered his nerves and began to speak openly about his feelings.
"Serena... after we met in Kanto i was so happy, we played together everyday, we'd laugh and share silly stories, we'd explore the forest together. every time we encountered a Pokemon together, we'd greet it with happiness and let it be and go on our way, i'm sorry i never noticed these feelings for you. These feelings are still new to me, but i feel like i know what I'm feeling... It's love. I love you. I'm just sorry i never told you sooner" Ash said. He took a breath to calm his nerves. He looked at the honey blond girl and noticed her tears. He felt like he made a mistake.
"Oh Ash. that was beautiful" Serena said with tears of happiness rolling down her face
"i've always loved you, ever since the day we met in the forest" Serena said as the tears continued to trickle down her beautiful face.
"Really?" Ash asked the honey blond girl, surprised she harbored these feelings from all those years ago.
"Here" Ash said handing her a black velvet box with a red bow on top. Serena opened it and held her hand over her mouth in shock at what she'd received from her crush.
Inside was that silver chain necklace that Ash bought for Serena while he was away on his errand.
"If i may" Ash gestured. Serena nodded with silence as he went behind the honey blond girl and helped fasten the piece of jewelry around her neck.
"Thank you" Serena thanked with a smile.
"No prob" Ash said scratching underneath his nose.
"I'd like to give you my present too Ash, close your eyes" Serena said. Ash was confused at first but he complied with her request at first nothing happened then he felt Serena snake her arms around Ash's neck, he didn't know it at the time but he instinctively moved his arms around her waist, then... he felt it, it was that feeling of warmth and safety he always felt around Serena but this time it was intensified ten times over. She gently captured his lips in a soft delicate kiss. The two felt time slowly come to a halt, there was nothing that mattered but them at that particular time. They continued to kiss under the moons rays unaware that their lemon haired 'sister' saw everything and beckoned everyone to look outside.
Soon after that kiss everyone came outside to congratulate the two teens, the Pokemon all rushed at them with happy smiles.
"Awwwww that was so cute" Bonnie said. Ash got on his knees and smiled at Bonnie. "I don't need a master ball, new badge case, or even a legendary Pokemon to be happy. The best gift of all, is being able to share my happiness with all of you, my family. Thats all that matters to me" Ash said. He gently kissed Bonnie on her forehead.
"I never had any siblings growing up, i guess it's only now that i realized Bonnie is starting to rub off on me" Ash said honestly with a chuckle.
"I love you too Ash. I'd be honored to be your little sister" Bonnie said happily as she tackled the raven haired boy in a tight hug, Clemont looked at Ash with a knowing smile and nodded. in a way, he was never alone, his family was always a part of him, always with him.
"Coming to Kalos was the best decision i made ever, i love it here. I never want to leave. Here... i found my heart, and i won a league. I know I'm not done yet. But i ain't in a rush, i can wait a little bit longer" Ash explained. As everyone hugged him happily, Clemont and Ash fist bumped with smiles on their faces.
Serena tightly hugged him from behind. While Grace watched from the sliding glass doors. She'd never seen such a scene in her life, she could tell that this day will be one to remember forever.

No Grace didn't adopt Ash. She knew he cares about Serena on more of a friendly level and she showed her support for the relationship between Ash and her daughter.
