The long awaited Chapter 5 very over due, but I do hope this was worth the wait. And I do hope you guys continue to enjoy and support my story.
Chapter 5: Dead Master's Wrath
Sora grunted as he hit the ground with a massive thud, getting annoyed from being thrown about here, there and everywhere. He pulled himself together seeing Riku was blocking the two floating skulls.
Riku growled as he quickly jumped backwards casting a Dark Firaga, as the blast heading towards one of the skulls. He was shocked as one of them just ate up the attack, the other vanished and caught him up from behind.
Sora pushed himself back to his feet the Kingdom Key in hand, about to run to Riku's side but he stopped. Marina was slowly sitting up off the ground, holding Mei up in her hand who was unconscious.
"Mei! Wake up!" Marina gently used her finger to stir her. She was not noticing the girl with the Scythe was walking right up to her.
Sora glared quickly running straight over to Marina skidding against the ground holding his hand out over Marina.
"I don't know who you are, but I would stay back!" Sora glared at her holding his Keyblade firmly.
The wind blew through her hair as she held her Scythe, two Neo shadows began to appear beside her feet. Her gaze locked onto Sora's and not responding to his words, slowly she got closer.
Sora quickly grabbed Marina's arm standing her up, she stumbled at his side as she still held onto Mei.
The girl with the Scythe swung it up directly aiming for Sora's face, he quickly casted a Reflega. The Scythe made contact with the spell which barely blocked in time. But as Sora thought he was ready for the next attack, she did not give him a chance as she was already making her next attack.
This time she went for an upper attack, Sora grunted as he made sure it did not make contact with Marina. Suddenly to his surprise Black Rock Shooter was in front of him, holding the Scythe up with her massive gun.
Sora looked at her noticing the name on her back, before Black Rock Shooter knocked her back. Sora took this moment to look at Marina.
"Are you alright? Do you think you can keep up?" He got serious now.
Marina never fought a battle in her life, the only skills she had picked up were from Nyx. She only had so much control of her powers of light. There was even something she had not had the chance yet to even tell them both. She took in a massive breath and all her courage not wanting to keep holding Sora or Riku back. She was going to fight her own battles too.
Marina placed Mei carefully in one of her pockets, holding out her hand and her Keyblade appeared. Looking it up and down she then looked to Sora.
"Don't worry I will keep up!" Marina got into a pose.
"Black Rock Shooter! We'll help you fight her!" Sora called out to her.
Black Rock Shooter skidded backwards in their direction, taking a small glance at Sora lightly nodding. But her attention went back towards the girl she deeply called her friend.
The Green-Eyed Girl spun her Scythe in her hand and then struck the ground. The blow was powerful as the whole ground just broke apart under their feet. The three of them began to fall through, falling in midair Black Rock Shooter spun up looking up.
Riku gasped when he saw both Sora and Marina vanished as the ground had caved in, quickly running over towards the girl with the Scythe about to attack her from behind. She had easily moved out of reach as she slid off the edge after them. Riku stopped in his tracks the name of the other girl finally coming to light.
Dead Master began to descend and follow them. Black Rock Shooter raised her gun and began to meet up with her strikes again and lash back.
Dead Masters two black skulls began to descend at her side, she pointed her Scythe towards Sora and Marina bidding them to attack. The skulls roared charging right down at them.
Sora quickly pointed his Keyblade down beneath him calling up a ball of air below him. Quickly using it to push him back up quickly, shooting his way up he then formed a barrier of light around his Keyblade. Slicing towards the Skulls mouth as it tried to break through the blade with its teeth.
The other skull flew right past them both heading towards Marina, she frowned as her long black hair flapped beneath her. She noticed various flying Heartless begin to come up behind her too. Knowing she had no choice; she closed her eyes.
She began to dig deep into her heart searching for that small light, finally from her back ribbons of light began to form. She spun up used her Keyblade to cut two heartless in midair and when she blocked the Skull that charged for her. The ribbons of light formed into two pure white angelic wings.
The wings began to glow a bright light as heartless tried to attack her from behind, but when they touched the feathers they dissolved into dust.
Finally looking up as the skull came for her again, she quickly flew dodging to the side. Casting balls of light from the tip of her Keyblade, then raising her hand stretching her hand out as she concentrated on them expanding them out. Everything touching them destroyed instantly.
Marina's eyes began to glow palely for a moment, turning as she blocked the Skull again as it came in for another attack.
Sora quickly cast a massive Ragnarok attacked, the beams of fiery power blasting the swarm around him. He saw the corner of his eye Marina fighting, surprised to see the wings she bared on her back.
'Is this a reason the Heartless are interested in her?'
Black Rock Shooter was the first to land on the ground, in a swift movement pointing up her massive gun firing up at Heartless coming towards her. Two Neo Shadow's struck her down causing her to hit the ground. With a massive grunt, she quickly tried to pull herself together to her feet.
The two Neo Shadows started to crawl towards her, finally as she got to her feet picking up her Gun. She pointed it out and it started sprouting and changing into a larger canon. Jumping in the air and landing out of reach.
From above Dead Master landed on some chains hanging up in the air with light feet. Black Rock Shooter gazed up at Dead Master. The gaze in Dead Master's eyes continued to make her blood run cold.
Dead Master jumped down to more chains, and then landing on the ground making a run down a staircase.
Black Rock Shooter followed her at a fast pace, descending to the darkness of the hidden room below.
Sora noticed Black Rock Shooter following Dead Master, making a swift slice of the Skull, and using wind magic to make his landing easier. He turned his gaze up as Marina made a soft landing using her wings.
"Marina… how come you didn't tell us about those?" He asked pointing at them.
Marina felt awkward when he brought them up, slowly they vanished away into balls of light and feathers fell to the ground.
"I haven't had the chance to tell you… I don't know why I have them, they ripped out of my back when I was 13 years old… but I can hide them away with my light..." She met his gaze again. "I get scared talking about them to new people... I'm worried of being judged."
Sora wanted to say something, that could reassure this would not be the case with them. But he realized the fight still was not over.
"We'll talk about this some more later. But right now, lets help Black Rock Shooter" He looked so focused stretching his hand turning towards the doorway the two had ran down.
"Right, lets hurry!" She nodded, her hand suddenly in his.
Sora began running as he pulled Marina behind him, something started to fade into her mind. A memory that did not feel like her own. Just like when her eyes first met his, as she looked at her hand tight in his. A memory of different hands could be seen, as if this moment happened before.
'Why... does he feel so familiar?'
Black Rock Shooter continued to run to the corridor that was at the bottom of the stairs. As she ran, she could see a light down the corridor, but then chains began to charge for her.
She did a massive jump into the air and back flipped back onto her feet, and she pressed forward down the corridor as the chains continued to come towards her. Continuing to dodge them left and right, and as she approached the end. The chains started forming over the door way to block her entrance.
Black Rock Shooter sliced through them with her massive gun, and entering into the light of the room. The bright blue flame still sparked from her left eye, as she looked up seeing Dead Master standing on a upper platform surrounded in chains. She made a run again towards her.
She suddenly stopped and had to jump back and dodge the chains that Dead Master began to slice apart and send towards Black Rock Shooter.
Dead Master smirked jumping off the platform and began to run down one of the chains down towards Black Rock Shooter. As she swung her scythe in her arms trying to land a hit as Black Rock Shooter dodged the blow. The two continuing to clash their weapons.
From up above on a balcony Sora and Marina managed to reach the room catching up, both shook over the impact from the blows.
"We need to hurry and get down there." Sora quickly pointed his Keyblade to make a pathway of light down.
"Sora... that girl with the scythe.." Marina grabbed Sora's arm before he was about to jump down.
"Huh? What about her?" Sora was rather confused, and even wondered what she was trying to bring up.
"I feel something.. inside her heart.. its a deep pain..." Marina looked down at Dead Master. "Black Rock Shooter is trying to reach out to her... but the pain has blinded her."
"A pain.. something that hurts within her heart..." Sora turned to look down at the two girls still hurting. "Unless you can manage that hurt... Dead Master will only continue to fall towards darkness."
Black Rock Shooter back flipped landing away from Dead Master again, the flame still continuing to burn in her left eye. Dead Master smirked thinking she had her back into a corner, but with a massive blow her scythe was cut into two.
Black Rock Shooter panted on the ground as Dead Master looked annoyed and threw the other part of her blade away. She moved her hand to her face licking the blood off her fingers, slowly smirking and jumped into the air.
Black Rock Shooter jumped up to her feet following after her, blocking blows from the black chains that were flowing from Dead Master. She tried backing up from Dead Master again blocking as many as she could, but Dead Master raised her hands up catching her off guard and entangling her into the chains.
"Oh no! Marina lets go!" Sora quickly grabbed her hand, pulling her onto his pathway of light.
"Sora ah!" Marina was caught off guard when she was flying fast behind him.
Dead Master smirked darkly as she looked up at the entrapped Black Rock Shooter, but slowly she heard Sora and Marina's footsteps.
"You haven't won yet!" Sora got into his classic pose.
Riku finished off the massive group of heartless, falling onto one knee trying to gather his breath back.
"Just my luck.. getting separated from both of them" He slowly got back up onto his feet. "I need to figure out how to get down there... I just hope they're alright."
From behind Riku a light formed within the ground and two figures began to form, he slowly turned and was surprised. A woman in a revealing purple outfit appeared with dark hair appeared. Along side her was a boy with brown hair wearing a long creep cloak, around the neck were googles, baggy trousers.
Syaoran looked around amazed what this world was, its shape and design was different from his travels with his friends.
"Who are you?" Riku frowned at them both.
"Relax Riku, we're friends.. I have brought Syaoran here to meet you... your destines are more connected than you think..." Merlin looked at Riku with a concerned look.
