Author's Note:

Aw, boy, here we are; the next chapter should be the endgame. I'm not sure if it will take one or two chapters, but I'm excited to write and terrified about making this fight unforgettable. And I hope you guys will like the twists that will follow! Here a small chapter before the ride begins.

PART V

Coven Terror

「Act 63: Ground Battle」

Front gate Coven of Terror, Eanor, 37 ABY

Two days later, the army of the west was all assembled on the west outside the gateway. Scouts reported that no enemies remained upon the roads east as far as the Cross-roads ensuring safe passage for the company. All now was ready for the last throw. Finn's company was finally noticeable. At last, the trumpets rang, and the army began to move. Troop by troop, and company by company, they wheeled. Finn, Rose, Hux, and Jannah followed.

On the east, the company's remaining eyed the sky nervously; the clouds that had been wispy and white that morning were now darker and denser. They quickened their pace; this was not the day to be caught in a delay. They had reached the passage towards the coven of Terror. The path towards the cliffs was grey, as the sun had not elevated over the black ridges. A dread fell on the second group as they hiked between the lines of ancient stones. None could long endure the hollow that the coven was emitting.

The red-haired man's troops reached the gate, unopposed. Now in their debate, some had counseled that the gate should first be assailed, and if they might take it, it should be utterly destroyed. Yet, the enemy this time was longer in numbers. No one could speak urgently because of the evil that dwelt in the surroundings of the coven, where the minds of living men would turn to madness and horror.

"Where are they?" Rose asked, scanning the area for the enemy, but she couldn't see anyone. "Are we sure they are informed?"

"Trust me; they will show!" Hux answered her as he was as well, keeping his gaze pinned against the gate.

There was a long silence, more extended than it should be. From the wall and gate, no cry or sound was heard in answer. Suddenly, the silence broke, and the gate creaked and swayed open, revealing an army of awful marching creatures. Their full attention was pinned against them. One by one, those the creatures with the black armor dashed off the gate, with one purpose only to destroy the troops in front of them.

The Captains of the West were foundering in a gathering sea. The sun gleamed red as he addressed an unsettled army of men and the rest. The group of four stood with them; their blasters were ready to engage in the deadly battle. The men answered by drawing their weapons. The enemy's masses began to encircle the army of men.

At the west gate, the battle had started. Though the enemy not only paced his attack in their weapons, they liked to terrorize their enemy. Fear was shackled; fear was a knife in the gut slowly twisted; fear was a constant hammer on the head. The order was obeyed, and the catapults threw debris over the army of the humans. The soldiers dodged behind their shields as the leaders of their fellow soldiers fell. Terror grew around them because they knew they would have the same fate soon. Their doom was so heavy on them, and hope was not yet seen.

Even Hux, who had seen and lived through the cruelty of the First Order, was taken back; he looked disgusted by the view of the ripped bodies that were thrown toward them. "Keep the defense; we need to hold the defense!" Hux ordered the men that were surrounding him. "They are trying to scare us, fight!"

Fire and smoke and stench was in the air; a heavy mist surrounded the ruined gate, the battlefield was covered with dead bodies and rotten smells. Both parts had lost too many men, but the battle kept on. The sky was covered with red dust clouds; blast after blast was fired in a fight to the death.

"I don't see Delkor or Dark Rey?" Finn noted, "Weren't they supposed to show up."

Delmuth, who had followed them and took part in this battle, gazed around. "I don't see Delkor nowhere; the enemy properly found out about our trap!" he added worriedly.

"Rey!" Finn screamed, but he knew his voice wouldn't reach her. "I still sense her; they are alive!"

"Though in danger," the Captain of the Blossom Forest acknowledged, "If the enemy figures out their plans, they would cross paths."

"Guys, we have bigger problems," Rose interrupted them. "What are those?" she pointed in front of them.

"The guards of Delkor, the previous court of the king," Delmuth informed them, "Keep out of their way; you cannot win against them." He gestured his men to follow, and the captain with his men leashed against the nine soulless creatures. The fight would be uneven, but the captain of the guard and his men were trained by the best. They were the only ones who could fight against them.

They advanced now slowly, expecting some answer to their challenge at every hour, and they drew together, fought together old allies and new ones. The battle went on like that, to secure passage to the ones that would reach the coven of Terror, to the ones that would destroy the Sith's Soulstone and try to save the galaxy from the new darkness that was rising.

Meanwhile, Ben followed by Rey, and the rest had gathered himself and strode towards the passage to the coven of Terror. His shoulders set with determination, and his lightsaber still on his hands. He kept Anakin's saber safe on his belt in case his saber wouldn't work. He accomplished to put together his old lightsaber with the ancient black cracked kyber crystal, creating a lightsaber's blade that was life-threatening, and no one could easily do it.

While hiking across the rocky road, a few troops of the enemy showed themselves here and there. But they fought them quickly with their blasters. They showed mercy to nothing and no one; as they approached the coven and inside and to the main cave, they would find the gap of blue ice fire to undo the Sith's Soulstone.

Poe turned and gazed at the battle that was taking place under them in front of the gate. The cries of horror could be heard as both parties were still engaged in a struggle that Eanor had witnessed for ages. The blood and the corpses were so many no one could tell who was winning. He sighed, feeling his chest tightened and worried about his friends down there and Finn.

It was then when Poe noticed a formation of the enemy marching towards then. "Solo!" he called and gestured at the passage behind them. "We will delay them; you, Rey, and the droids keep going!"

Ben nodded; they were running out of time; the enemy was approaching them. But at least they were only a few steps away from the entrance, only a few steps away to destroy the Sith's Soulstone and reach an end to this craziness. Though, there was something that troubled Solo. Although their mission took so long, and it wasn't easy at all, it was like they had missed something. Like they were played in a game without one of them to notice. The only thing somehow that assured him they were doing the right thing was Anakin. If there was a possibility that their mission of destroying the Blackstone was a trickery of the Enemy, wouldn't his grandfather warn him?

Poe, Chewie, and BB-8 shielded the entrance. They found shelter under the rocky walls, and there they fought the troops that would try to pass through the opening. In a way, they created the second front for the mission to be a success. Ben, Rey, C-3PO, and R2-D2 entered finally inside the cave; a few turns away from them at a higher level was the opening space and below the iced-fire gap that would bring all their problems to an end.

The group of four stormed towards the opening with so much hope, but a few steps before reaching the gap, their way was shut. Two tall figures appeared suddenly in front of them, and unknown painful darkness surrounded them with them. Ben stepped forward, followed by Rey, keeping the droids behind them. The way was shut now by Delkor and Dark Rey; it seemed like the enemy knew about their trap and waited for them.

For one final dual...
