PREVIOUSLY...
Robotnik flew his ship right out of the sand tornado, right at Sonic and aiming his laser gun at the speedy Faunus. Sonic threw a ring portal, this time one to Green Hills.
Sonic was getting closer and closer to the portal as Robotnik pulled the trigger.
The laser shot was about to hit Sonic until it hit part of the mountain right below Sonic's feet, propelling him forward and through the portal.
Sonic came flying out of the ring portal and landed hard on the road, six other colored emeralds landing next to him out of the ring bag, the bag itself still holding rings in it landing by the sidewalk. Jaune and Ruby got there just as Robotnik's Bullhead came through the ring portal and his laughter was heard.
The cockpit on the Bullhead opened as Robotnik said to the nearly passed out Faunus, "You're an astonishing little creature. It'll be fun to take you back to the lab for a litinay of invasive exploratory procedures."
Jaune saw the ring back and quickly picked it up, secretly pulling out a ring.
"Any last words?" Robotnik asked, taunting
"Guac...that's a funny word..." Sonic mutters before passing out
Robotnik popped his neck, not noticing Jaune hopping through a ring portal and onto the back of Robotnik's Bullhead as Robotnik stated, "I can't begin to tell you how many breakthroughs have been made possible by animal and Faunus testing. You're being very selfish."
"Going my way?" Jaune asked
"WHAT THE-?!" Robotnik starts, having not noticed Jaune until now
Before Robotnik could finish what he was saying, Jaune decked Robotnik in the face. Jaune and Robotnik were decking it out in Robotnik's Bullhead
"Who the HELL do you think you are?!" Robotnik asks as he held Jaune against the front of his Bullhead
Jaune then punched Robotnik in the face and held him over the side.
"I'm the Doughnut Lord, you son of a-" Jaune started before Robotnik elbowed Jaune in the gut
Robotnik then got to the controls and shook Jaune out of the Bullhead, Ruby ran over to Jaune's aid. This whole time though, Sonic was still on the ground.
"Why would you throw your life away for this...thing?!" Robotnik questioned, gesturing to Sonic. "That's why I don't have friends. Next thing you know, you're somebody's best man, they wanna have the wedding out of town, like nobody has ANYTHING BETTER TO DO!"
Jaune tries to stand up, but has a bit of trouble due to being a little sore from the fall from Robotnik's ship.
"Anyways, where were we?" Robotnik asked in a rhetorical manner. "Oh, yes, you were about to die."
Just then, a bullet ht the side of the ship, causing Robotnik, Jaune, and Ruby to look over and see Nora, standing there with Ren who had arrived a few minutes before Robotnik came through the portal to Green Hills, Ren holding his weapons and having been the one who shot at the ship.
"That's our sheriff and former team leader you're messing with." Nora said, ready to pull out her hammer
Ruby looked back at Sonic, shook June's shoulder and simply said, "Jaune..."
Jaune looks back at Sonic, really wanting him to get back up, but doubting he will.
"I don't mean to be indelicate here but...someone should get some ice...keep the body fresh." Robotnik states
Jaune looked back at Robotnik before looking back at Sonic and looking down.
"He's just a stupid little Faunus." Robotnik comments. "He didn't belong here!"
Jaune looked back at Robotnik as he managed to finally get up, Ruby staying by his side the whole time.
"That little Faunus knew more about being human than you ever will. His name was Sonic, this was his home..." Jaune starts, gaining a glare from Robotnik. "..and he was my friend."
Just then, Sonic managed to absorb all 7 of the strange emeralds he had and his eyes snapped open and he was now sparing with enough gold electricity to light up the whole area. When Jaune and Ruby looked back, they saw Sonic back up on his feet and all on his body that was blue was a bright gold, even his clothes were now mostly gold, and his eyes were a distinct shade of red mixed with a light gold, sparking with electrical energy like crazy. He glared right at Robotnik.
Jaune looked back at Robotnik before looking at Sonic again and saying, "He's all your's."
Jaune and Ruby ran over to Nora and Ren, who happened to be with a whole crowd of people from Green Hills as Jaune said, "Everyone get back!"
Sonic stares down Robotnik as he says, "I think you have something that belongs to me."
Sonic held up a fist and from the canister holding the quill Robotnik had, some more of the aura was drawn out, making an alarm in the Bullhead go off as Robotnik struggled to control it. When Sonic finished drawing aura from the quill, Robotnik regained control of his Bullhead and the aura went all the withdrawn aura had gone back to Sonic.
"This is my power. And i'm not using it to run away anymore." Sonic said, ready to beat Robotnik to unconsciousness. "I'm using it to protect. My. Friends."
Robotnik lowers his goggles and closes the cockpit on his Bullhead and opens up at least 19 of the missile launchers in his Bullhead, all the lasers aiming right at Sonic.
Sonic got down on his hands and one knee, preparing to run right at Robotnik. Robotnik launched the missiles at Sonic as Sonic started running. But with ease, Sonic jumped around and dodged each missile.
The speedy hedgehog Faunus then jumps off of buildings and lightpoles, hitting Robotnik's Bullhead at least 51 times before he slid back and stood where he was knocked out on the ground earlier.
"Oh, NOW you've done it!" Robotnik snaps, a damage alarm now blaring in his ship
"Guess what, Eggman? I'm not leaving Vale, or Remnant for that matter. You are!" Sonic exclaimed before looking at Jaune. "Doughnut Lord?"
Jaune knew exactly what Sonic wanted him to do. So, he reached into the leather bag, pulled out a ring and ran to where a portal would open behind Robotnik's Bullhead. He then threw it, opening a portal to the mushroom planet.
Sonic smirked as Robotnik boosted his Bullhead at him and Sonic ran right at Robotnik's ship. He then jumped up, curled into a ball, and hit the front of the Bullhead, destroying a forcefield that had been on it, along with the cockpit cover's glass, and causing the side engines to fall off.
Within seconds, the Bullhead went flying into the portal as Robotnik screamed. The portal then closes as Sonic lands on his feet and the electricity he was staticing with dissipates entirely, the strange emeralds reappearing and the six from the bag falling to the ground, Sonic's clothes and what was blue on his body becoming blue again, and a huge chunk of Sonic's aura being gone.
Jaune ran over to Sonic and said, "Told ya you got this."
"Hey, WE got this." Sonic replies, breathing heavily
Jaune held out a hand for a high five, Sonic smiling brightly before running in circles and quickly high fiving Jaune.
Jaune then holds out the ring bag and says, "Think these belong to you."
"Thank you very much." Sonic replies
"No more pushing people off of buildings, though." Jaune states
"You know I can't promise that." Sonic said which got a quick little chuckle from Jaune before he handed Sonic the ring bag
Jaune smiled and patted Sonic's head gently.
"Did pretty good, Blue Zip." Jaune comments
"You too, Doughnut Lord." Sonic replied
"You gonna explain this...Doughnut Lord thing?" Ruby asked
"Nah, sorry, that's for me and the speedster." Jaune replied, getting a nod from Sonic. "I feel like i've checked the save a life box off my bucket list."
Jaune then looked back t Ruby, gently holding her hands.
"Now all I wanna do is spend my life with the people I care about." Jaune stated. "I wanna check that box."
"I'd like that." Ruby said as the two hugged
Nora turned to the crowd and said, "Alright, everyone, time to disperse. Just another ordinary day in Green Hills."
Jaune and Ruby then headed back for their home, ready to sleep for the night Sonic following so he could safely store his ring bag and the 7 strange emeralds.
"Come on, you act like you've never seen a fight between a random Faunus and a robot with a doctorate." Nora added as the crowd finally started dispersing
