AN: So, this story is based on one of my drawings from deviantart. Since I wrote a lot of Unikitty related stories already, this story would be my first Lego Movie related story. I hope you like it.

Everything's Not Awesome

Five years have passed since the events of Taco Tuesday. Emmet and his friends were successful with stopping Lord Business and everyone was no longer kragled. After everything that had happened, everyone thought that things would only get better from there. They couldn't have been anymore wrong. Everything somehow got worse than ever when the Duplo aliens attacked. Everyday, the Duplo aliens would destroy more and more of Bricksburg. Before long, Bricksburg was changed to Apocalypseburg.

For the passed five years, everyone had to learn how to toughen up in this post apocalyptic world. However, no one was more upset about this than Unikitty. Throughout her life, Unikitty always told herself to stay positive no matter how bad things got. It got harder for her to stay positive ever since her home, Cloud Cuckoo Land got destroyed. Just the sight of watching her home sink to the bottom of the sea was too much for her to bear, but she knew that she had to move on.

The former princess of Cloud Cuckoo Land walked through the streets of Apocalypseburg as she was bringing some food for Emmet. Emmet has been finishing up his new house, and he asked Unikitty to bring him some food to his newly constructed house as a favor. Truthfully, a part of Unikitty was jealous of Emmet. Even in this apocalypse, Emmet was somehow able to stay upbeat and positive, just like how Unikitty used to be. Unikitty was about to reach Emmet's house when she noticed a strange object on the ground.

"Huh? What's this?" Unikitty asked, curious.

Suddenly, a bunch of smoke filled the area around Unikitty, and that's when she realized that it was a smoke bomb. She stumbled around as she couldn't see a thing. Before she could react, someone stepped behind her and knocked her out.

The next thing that Unikitty knew, she woke up in a dark and dusty room. Judging from her surroundings, she appeared to be trapped in an old abandoned apartment. She then realized that she couldn't move either as her legs were tied together with ropes. Once Unikitty realized the situation she was in, she started to get angry. The furious cat tried to struggle with all her might, but her ropes were too tight. In the middle of her struggling, Unikitty suddenly caught sight of a stranger snooping through an all too familiar bag.

"Hey! Don't snoop through there. I need to bring this food to my friend!" Unikitty yelled, startling her captor.

"So, you're finally awake." the thief said, turning to Unikitty. "Sorry, but all of your food is mine now! In Apocalypseburg you have to do whatever it takes to survive!"

"You can't just do this! Emmet is counting on me to provide him with food!" Unikitty tried to reason with her captor. "You'd better let me go right now, or you'll be sorry!

With a roll of his eyes the captor grabbed a pink cloth before he said, "I think that I've heard enough from you."

"Wait, what is that?" Unikitty asked, her eyes focused on the pink cloth.

"It's just a big gag for that equally big mouth of yours!" explained the thief.

Unikitty's eyes then widened in realization. "Wait, you are going to gag me? Don't you dare-"

Before Unikitty could finish her sentence, she felt the soft cloth pressed against her mouth. She tried to get the cloth of her, but it was too late as the thief tied the cloth around her mouth, keeping her quiet.

"Mmgh! Ghh! Ngh!" Unikitty yelled in her gag as she struggled more than ever before she sent a death glare to her captor.

"Oh, don't give me that look! It's not my fault that Cloud Cuckoo Land got destroyed, Princess Unikitty!" Hearing this caused Unikitty to let out a muffled gasp. "That's right. I know who you are. You are the princess who lost her home, aren't you?"

A sad look from Unikitty was all the confirmation the thief needed. Deep down, Unikitty wanted to cry, but she couldn't give her captor the satisfaction. She had to act tough just like everyone else.

"Well, I'd love to stay and chat some more, but I've got to go!"

With that, the thief picked up the bag before turning to leave. As the thief was about to leave, Unikitty screamed some more in her gag as she got more and more angry every second. Much to the thief's surprise, he turned around to see Unikitty breaking free of her ropes and gag before she transformed into Ultrakatty. Seeing Unikitty's giant form caused the thief to freeze up from fear.

Fearing for his life, the thief dropped the bag of food before he decided to run with Unikitty after him. In her anger, Unikitty unintentionally destroyed more and more of the building. Unikitty chased the thief through the building, but by the time she got out, the thief already ran away. After taking a couple of deep breaths, Unikitty reverted back to her normal form. The cat turn around and was surprised to find the abandoned building collapsing in front of her.

"Oops! I might have gone a little too far." Unikitty realized.

Thankfully, Unikitty managed to grab her bag of food before the building collapsed. As Unikitty carried the sack of food on her back, she made her way back to Emmet's house. Once she reached the house, she was surprised by how well Emmet built it. It was at that moment when Unikitty found Emmet, who was putting the finishing touches on his house.

The construction worker soon noticed his cat friend before waving towards her.

"Hi, Unikitty! You are just in time! My house is finally finished!" Emmet exclaimed.

"Wow! It looks nice, Emmet!" Unikitty replied as she couldn't keep her eyes of the house. "Anyway, I've brought the food like you asked."

"Oh, thanks, Unikitty! These are the last things I need for the house. Come on in! Let me show you around!"

With that, Emmet showed Unikitty around the house before stopping at one last room.

"And here is your room!" Emmet said, much to Unikitty's surprise.

"Wait, you mean that you would let me live with you?"

"Of course! You can stay here with me and Lucy. It's the least I can do after, well, you know." Emmet looked away, awkwardly, not wanting to remind Unikitty of the day she lost her home.

Unikitty already knew what Emmet was referring to. She appreciated everything he was doing for her, but she still couldn't get over the loss of Cloud Cuckoo Land. "Thanks, Emmet."

Despite Unikitty trying to sound happy, Emmet couldn't help but notice that his friend looked sad.

"Are you okay, Unikitty? You don't seem too happy. If this isn't the type of room you want, I can always rebuild it." Emmet insisted.

"It's not that." Unikitty gave a sigh as she decided to tell Emmet what was bothering her. "I know that we are supposed to act tough in this place, but I don't know how much longer I can keep up the act!" Every word Unikitty spoke only got her closer to crying. "I just want everything to go back to the way they were before! I want Cloud Cuckoo Land back!"

By this point, Unikitty broke down crying. As Unikitty started to cry, Emmet immediately gave her a hug as he did his best to comfort her. Deep down, Emmet felt responsible for what happened to Unikitty. If he noticed the tracking device on his ankle sooner, Cloud Cuckoo Land might still be standing.

"I'm so sorry, Unikitty. I promise that everything will get better soon." Emmet tried to encourage his friend.

"Thanks, Emmet." Unikitty sniffed. "I think I want to be alone right now."

Emmet then gave an understanding nod. "I understand."

With that, Emmet left the house to get some coffee, leaving Unikitty alone. The princess then laid on her bed to get some sleep. Deep down, Unikitty was certain that things would get better some day, but for now, everything's not awesome.
