"Which ones better, Daddy?" His daughters large stormy blue eyes stared up at him, her tiny hands holding out two knee length, strapped summer dresses in what appeared to be the same color same color to him.
Frowning impatient at his silence, "Daddy!" She exclaimed with a small stomp of her one-inch heeled sandals before pushing up on the tip of her toes to hold both dresses higher up, as if it would make any difference with her short stature already stretched as far as can be, in hopes of helping him make a choice. "Which color do you think is better?"
Laxus sighed deeply before bending down to her level and eyeing the pieces of flowing fabric critically, trying to differentiate between the two similar dresses. Distance was not the issue he thought dryly as he came to the conclusion that both dresses looked like the same freaking color to him and his daughter had obviously gotten this particular color identification trait from her mother. He shuddered just thinking back to the time Lucy had lost her shit with him when trying to choose what colors they would paint their new house in. How the hell was he supposed to know that so many colors came in so many different shades and names that he'd never heard off? It all looked the same to him, just like both dresses looked light purple to him for crying out loud.
"They're the same color, Nadiya." He finally said after another minute of trying to spot the difference.
Nadiya stared blankly up at him, giving him one of those stairs that only a woman could. That look that just spoke of how stupid you were to someone. "This one is a light lilac lavender and this ones lavender." But when he returned her own blank gaze back at her, Nadiya signed before turning to put both dresses back when she got them.
Reaching for his hand, she began leading him out the store. "Lets go grab something for us to eat. I smell something yummy down the street."
"But I thought you wanted to buy a new dress to wear for Asuka's party?"
"Oh, I'm still going to buy a dress, but I'm going to call mommy while we eat and ask her to come help me instead. No offense daddy, but you're no help so you're off the hook for today."
And although she had called him useless, Laxus could only smirk down at her golden head, glad she was letting him off so easily. "And this is why you're my favorite girl." he proclaimed as he scooped her up into his arms. "Just don't tell mom I said that." He whispered as if it were some great secret that needed to be kept between the two.
A bright smile with a thumbs up was his only response.
