It took Inko all of three seconds to process what Izuku was saying.
And then, thinking fast, she pulled her phone out of her pocket and snapped a photo of the writing on Izuku's arm before whoever had written it had a chance to wipe it away.
The other person must have realized that they had been found out, because a few seconds later, the words were gone, and Izuku's skin was blemish free.
"Don't worry honey," Inko reassured her son as she sank on the couch next to him and pressed a kiss to his forehead. "We'll have this dealt with in no time."
Turning back to her phone, she started tapping furiously at the screen; she sent the photo off to Tsukauchi right away, with a demand for him to find out who had violated Toshi's (and by extension Izuku's) privacy, and to make sure they paid for it.
The reply came back almost immediately, a succinct, "On it."
All they could do after that was wait.
And wait.
And wait.
It was almost as maddening as when he was waiting for Toshi to wake up, especially since they had decided to go no contact until the situation was resolved, at Tsukauchi's suggestion.
By the time night rolled around, there still hadn't been any news about the situation from Tsukauchi's side, and Izuku's mother sent him off to bed with a reassurance that things would be better in the morning.
She couldn't have been further from the truth.
When Izuku came downstairs for breakfast the next morning, it was to find his mother sitting hunched over at the dining table, hand to her mouth in horror, and tears running down her face as she stared at her laptop screen.
"Mom?" asked Izuku in a small, scared voice.
At hearing her son's voice, Inko looked up and immediately started brushing away her tears.
"Oh, honey, I'm so sorry," she said, opening her arms to him.
He ran into them without question, wondering what had gotten her so worked up.
He looked over at her laptop screen, seeing that she had a news site open, and as soon as his eyes landed on the article in front of him, he felt his entire body go cold. There was a complicated feeling churning in his gut as he recognized the hero in the photo, and felt all the pieces finally fall into place.

Early Monday morning, a user known only by the handle myrroronthewall posted the above photo on multiple social media sites, garnering instant attention nationwide. The photo in question allegedly shows number one hero All Might lying prone in a hospital bed while one of his arms shows the telltale signs of a soulmate bond.
The All Might Agency has yet to speak up on the matter, neither confirming nor denying the veracity of the claims brought up by this anonymous user.
When asked, the Musutafu Police Department refused to give a statement on the matter, stating merely that due to an ongoing investigation, no details could be released currently…

if you've been on the internet at all today, then you've probably seen the photo of All Might that's been posted to all the major social media platforms, revealing that 1) he has a soulmate and 2) that he's recently been in a villain fight bad enough that it's left him hospitalized. i shouldn't have to say how absolutely disgusting that is. all might puts his life on the line day after day after day, asking for nothing in return. he puts so much of himself out there in the public eye, and he's so gracious about it. i've never heard a single story of him being rude to a fan or turning down an autograph or a selfie unless he had good reason to. so for people to then turn around and take advantage of him in his one moment of weakness is completely sickening. pro heroes deserve what little shred of privacy they've managed to hold onto, ESPECIALLY when it comes to their soulmates. and ESPECIALLY when it's someone with as big a target on his back as All Might.

gonna add on to op's point about all might's soulmate. if he's been keeping the fact that he has one a secret until now then he probably has a very good reason! the most likely reason is that they're a civilian. and not to mention the possibility that they might be a minor (the idea that soulmates have to be close in age is actually a common misconception, and there have been documented cases of soulmates being as much as fifty years apart) luckily, the photo wasn't too high quality, so the handwriting is a little hard to make out, but still, if you happen upon the photo anywhere online make sure to report it to be taken down! handwriting can be indentifiable, and we need to make it as hard as possible for anyone who wants to use this knowledge against all might
