Back at the gym, Professor Kaufman was about to announce the winner.
He cleared his throat. "And my favorite invention was...Velma Dinkley and Marcie Fleach's rocket ship!"
"Jinkies! We won!" Velma gasped.
"We won! We won!" They cheered as they hugged.
"No fair!" said Bill. "They must've cheated!"
"Be a good sport, Bill." Eric put his hand on Bill's shoulder. "At least we're will still get to go to the professor's science camp."
"Any reason why you've chosen their rocket, Professor?" Gibby asked meekly.
"Well, they seem to have invented a type of rocket fuel made from sodium bicarbonate and different types of acidic acid." said the professor. "Granted, it's a cliche and child's play, but mixing different types of acids could provide for a cleaner fuel source for rockets. It may not be enough to power astronaut rockets or space shuttles, but it's not every day that someone tries something so simple when it comes to science. Plus, the fuel actually works."
"I see." Gibby nodded as Eric murmured.
"I still say they cheated." Bill pouted.
"For those who didn't get chosen, this is a nice learning experience." said the professor. "You'll all be attending my camp and you can learn to make better inventions. So, the camp starts next week and be sure to have your stuff prepared."
"Awesome." Gibby said enthusiastically.
"At least then I can show everyone what I'm really made of." Bill remarked.
"Come on Marc, we've gotta tell everyone!" Velma grabbed Marcie's hand and ran off.
Meanwhile, over at Big City, the group were on riding on the Falcon Car pursuing the burglar.
"Halt, fiend!" BF shouted as they chased the car.
Both cars made twists and turns and detours all over the city during this high speed chase. If it were animated, it would be a lot more epic.
"Blue Falcon, does your Falcon Car have anything that can possibly help us?" asked Shaggy. "After all, what's a superhero car without amazing features?"
"Hmmm..." BF said as he glanced down towards the controls.
On the control panel were several buttons with pictures and a large screen.
"Lemme try this!" BF pressed a button.
Just then, some rocket boosters came from the side of the car and caused the car to accelerate.
"Well, that's one way for us to gain on the burglar's car." Daphne remarked.
The burglar looked at his mirror and saw the gang approaching him.
"Drat! They're gaining on me!" He said before stepping on the gas pedal and going faster.
"Jeepers! We've almost got him!" Daphne said.
But just when our heroes were gaining up on the crook, the rockets had run out of fuel and retracted back into the car.
"Darn, now what?" Shaggy sighed.
While everyone was thinking about what to do next, Reggie saw a button with a splat emblem on it. He then pressed it and a hose started blasting slime at the crook's getaway car (the mirrors and windows to be exact).
"Hey, what gives?" The burglar exclaimed as the slime began splatting on the windows. "I can't see!"
Since the burglar couldn't see out of the car, he began spinning around until his crashed into a pole.
"Excellent work, Reggie!" said Blue Falcon.
"Ruff!" Reggie barked.
In no time at all, the cops showed up to arrest the burglar and congratulate the Blue Falcon.
"Congratulations, Blue Falcon, you've done it again." said one of the cops.
"Thanks, but the real hero here is my dog, Reggie." BF pet his dog's head.
Reggie only barked as Shaggy, Scooby and Daphne looked on.
"You know, Falcon, you could use a partner and Reggie seems to be a well-trainer dog." said Daphne. "Maybe he could be your police dog or something."
"What do you mean?" asked Blue Falcon.
"I think Daphne's suggesting that you should let Reggie be your partner in crime-fighting." Shaggy said.
"Me? Have Reggie as my partner?" asked BF. "I'm not sure."
"Trust me, if there's one thing a guy can count on, it's his partner and no partner is better or loyal than a well-traine dog!" Scooby assured him.
BF looked at Reggie and saw him standing proudly and bravely and then turned towards Shaggy, Scooby and Daphne, who looked at him expectedly.
"Well, I guess there's one thing left for me to say..." He said as he turned to Reggie. "Welcome to the team, boy!"
Reggie barked and happily licked Blue Falcon's face.
"That Reggie sure is loyal." Daphne folded her arms.
"And a crime solving canine compadre." Shaggy added.
"Yep!" Scooby nodded. "A real dog wonder!"
Daphne then glanced at her watch and said, "Jeepers, I think we better head back to Coolsville, guys. It's getting late and my parents don't like it when I'm running late for another one of the usual family engagements!"
"Yeah, we gotta go too." Shaggy added. "My show is on in an hour."
The gang headed back to the bus and were on their way back to Coolsville. As soon as they left, Blue Falcon looked at Reggie.
"So, a dog wonder, huh?" He smiled.
THE END!
Author's Note:
Well, looks like the Falcon has a new hatchling to raise, or something like that. In our next story, let's go to Central City and see the Funky Phantom!
