Hello everyone and welcome to this weird universe of my one-shots!
My oneshots are going to be focused on Lucifer and Chloe, but will probably include a lot of Ella, Maze and Trixie, and hopefully eventually all the characters. I love all of them but right now I'm more obsessed with the first ones I mentioned. Requests and prompts are always welcomed!
This one shot is set at the end of season 4 episode 1, *spoilers* instead of Chloe going to the church and crying, she is going to Lucifer. Enjoy.
The sky was dark as Lucifer played one of his favorite songs on his piano. The truth was this song didn't mean much to him, but it reminded him of Chloe, and after this hectic day that's all he needed.
After weeks of waiting he almost gave up any hope he had that she would come back, he wanted to give her space and time to process everything she saw, and yet after almost a month, he still had hope she would come back to him on day. And then one day she did.
She appeared out of nowhere, like rain in the summer, acting like everything is normal. She must have lost her mind, he thought, but throughout the day he tried scaring her off, but nothing he did made her run away.
"I really liked that song in high school, you know" said Chloe, as she cut his line of thought and walked down the stairs.
In her eyes he did not see any fear or terror, only curiosity.
"Detective!" He exclaimed "I didn't expect to see you here tonight, or today-"
"I'm sorry I didn't contact you all this time, I was just..." she said as she walked closer to him. Scared? shocked? absolutely terrified? He thought to himself "thinking a lot" she said, as she sat down next to him in front of the piano"
"Detective- Chloe, listen. If you don't feel c-" he started
"No wait-" she cut him "I need to explain first".
He looked at her, she hasn't changed at all in the last couple of weeks, her eyes had their usual glow and the night club's light reflected beautiful colors in her blonde hair.
"At first I was in complete denial, I mean you told me all this time that you were actually... well, you, but I didn't really believe it. I didn't want to believe it. I was always told that the devil is the personification of evil. The root of all death and destruction.
That's what I saw that day. But when you called me "detective" I realized, that's not you, none of that is a part of you. You are not the stories everyone tells about you, you are who you choose to be. And since that first day you walked into that crime scene and started being my partner, you proved to me that you're a loyal, loving, a good man!
Yes, I ran away. I was afraid and confused and shocked. But never once I doubted that fact that you are a good man, and seeing your "other face" has not changed my mind for even a second. You are the devil, but more importantly, you are my partner" she said and smiled, as she put her hand over Lucifer's wounded hand on the piano.
"Then that's all that matters" he said, smiling, with hope and tears of joy in his eyes.
Yup it was pretty short and simple, but I like it :)
