*MAJOR S5 SPOILERS*
This oenshot is set right after the first scene of 5x08, after Dan leaves the penthouse after shooting Lucifer. Enjoy.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU COULD HAVE KILLED YOURSELF!" Chloe yelled with tears in her eyes as she heard the elevator closes.
"Chloe..." Lucifer whispered and caressed the detective's cheek with his thumb "nothing happened, I'm alright".
"I almost lost you" She whispered "I can't lose you"
Lucifer pulled the detective into a hug, and she rested her head on his chest, while Lucifer held her close, trying to calm the shakes and tears that were streaming down Chloe's face.
Neither of them imagined this is how the night would end, their day has been hectic and they have been so focused on trying to save Charlie that they forgot they are putting themselves in danger in the process.
Chloe understood Dan. After all she tried to kill Lucifer too after she saw his real face. But after losing him once she realised how much he meant to her. He was a part of her world now, and without him she would simply wouldn't be complete, and she knew it was the same for Lucifer when she saw the pain in his eyes when he returned from hell and told her that for him it has been thousands of years.
"Detective?" Lucifer whispered.
"Mhm?" Chloe mumbled, not willing to let him go.
"Thank you. For what you said to Daniel. I know how hard it has been for you to... see me as I am. Thank you for fighting for me".
Chloe lifted her head slightly, her hands still wrapped around Lucifer, and looked straight into his eyes.
Her vision was still a bit blurry from her tears, but she could see the pain and love in his eyes, and deep in his eyes, she saw what she was waiting for all this time. Acceptance.
"You deserve to have someone who will fight for you. You are a good man." She said, pulling him a little closer.
He smiled and leaned forward, so close to her, that he could feel her soft breaths against his skin.
"What did I do to deserve an angel like you" he whispered, kissing her softly.
Chloe kissed him back, and for the first time since she met Lucifer she felt like they were one, two pieces of a puzzle, completely vulnerable to each other, no walls between them. Only pure love.
Even if god created her just for Lucier, with him she felt like the best version of herself, like all the bad in the world disappeared.
She found her soulmate, her one true love, in Lucifer.
