I have a feeling Ella will find out about Lucifer in 5B, (I mean everyone except her and Trixie already knows) so I wanted to write this before we see the scene.

This is set in 3x25, the episode about Azreal and Ella. If you don't remember it, it doesn't matter that much, just imagine this right after Ella (without Azreal) is hiding in the closet and the murderer opens it.

Not many things scared Ella. Even when working for the police she was never the person to chase criminals and be in danger. She was always in the back, only arriving after the murder. Always safe.

Please help me, big guy Ella thought, as she hid in the closet, looking through the small spaces in the door, her eyes following the man who broke into the house.

Terror filled her stomach as the man walked slowly towards the walk-in closer. She leaned back against the wall quietly, praying that he didn't notice her.

She tried to stop breathing, but after a couple of seconds she gasped for air, and the closet door opened forcefully. In front of her stood a big man, his head was covered but she could see his eyes. They looked at each other for a moment, and he attacked her.

Ella was not a fighter, she took a couple of self-defense lessons when she was younger, but as the man attacked her, she forgot everything.

She jumped aside, and his fist hit the wall next to her. She kicked the second door opened and grabbed the broom that was leaning on the wall, and tried to hit the man in the chest.

Unfortunately for Ella, she was too short and too weak to injure the man, but her hit was enough to harm the man's balance, and give her enough space to sneak out of the closet.

He turned around, trying to hit her again. This time he didn't miss. She stumbled backward, falling to the floor, feeling blood running down the side of her face and dripping down to the floor.

The man pulled out a knife and looked at her.

"I didn't come here to kill anyone. But I can't let anything get in my way." He said, his eyes focused on hers. He leaned down, pointing the knife towards her.

Ella was frozen on the floor, trying to crawl back towards the door. "You don't have to-"

Another figure appeared, grabbing the murderer by the neck and throwing him against the wall.

Ella couldn't see the person's face, but by the fancy suit and perfectly combed hair, she knew. Lucifer is here.

Ella has never seen him like this before. Lucifer was never angry. He always found humor in the most disturbing crime scenes. Even when he was mad for a second, he was always returned to being calm and sarcastic quite easily. But not today.

Even without seeing his face, Ella could see he was angry. Every move he made was full of power, every hit looked stronger than anything she has ever seen before.

Lucifer and the murderer moved like two ninjas, too fast for Ella to realize what was going on. It was all a blur.

Ella stood up slowly, pressing her hand to the side of her face, trying to stop the blood flow. Once her head stopped spinning the murderer was on the floor, not dead but unconscious, and Lucifer was crouching over the man, his face bent down as if he was trying to avoid her look.

"Lucifer?" She said quietly, walking carefully towards him.

She heard Lucifer exhaling sharply, as he stood up slowly and turned to look at her.

The man standing in front of her didn't look like Lucifer. He was not the handsome, funny guy that everyone liked. He looked terrible, like his face was burning for years, like someone tried to scar every inch of his beautiful face.

He looked at her with pain in his eyes, with a lot of sadness hiding within. But they were his eyes. Under the red face, she saw Lucifer again, her friend.

The friend who made her hot chocolate when she was sad, the friend who trusted her with secrets and asked for her help many times, the friend who let her hug him, and acted as if he didn't want her hugs, but she knew that deep inside he loved her famous hugs.

Her friend was the devil.

And he never once lied to her.

"Miss Lopez?" He asked, taking a step towards her.

"You are the devil" Ella said quietly.

"Yes" He replied slowly.

"And you're Lucifer"

"Yes"

His face changed to the familiar, handsome person she worked with every day. Lucifer sighed quietly and walked closer to Ella.

"Miss Lopez- Ella, I need you to know, I will ne-" Lucifer was cut by Ella jumping on him, giving him one of her famous hugs.

Lucifer has seen many reactions to his true form, fear mostly, sometimes shock, but he was never, in all of the millions of years he lived, received a hug after showing someone his face.

"It doesn't matter" Ella said, still holding on to him.

"It... doesn't?"

"No! You're you. You're Lucifer. I love you anyway!" Ella said with a big smile, pulling back from the hug, but still holding on to his arms.

"Aren't you- scared of me?" He tried to look into her eyes, see if there was any fear in them, but all he could see was happiness.

"Lucifer, if you wanted to hurt me or kill me you had thousands of opportunities to, and you just saved my life today. Of course I'm not scared of you- I mean I know all the stories about how you eat ki-" she started talking, as if it was just another day of work.

"OK that is not true-" Lucifer protested.

"Not the point-" She cut him "I know you, Lucifer, you are not a bad person. You are just Lucifer. My friend."

"Miss Lopez I-" Lucifer said, cute by the backup team that entered the room.

"I'll see you later, gotta clean that up" Ella said and gestured to the blood on her face.

Ella hugged Lucifer, and leaned on his chest, her head right under his chin.

"Thank you Ella" Lucifer whispered and held her tightly.

Ella pulled back and turned around leaving the room, as she walked out the door she looked back at Lucifer one more time, and smiled to herself. She lives in a very strange world, and she for sure didn't understand all of it. But for that day she was happy without knowing everything. As long as she had her friends by her side.

A bit longer than I planned, but I like this one
