Thank you for the wait! S/O if you're enjoying this story so far! :D

Trying to recall and relaying what happened to Makoto was like watching a horror movie for Rin. Haru was beside him, his arm draping around his shoulders, giving him support. Rin was a huge softie under all that rugged coolness. Only so few knew this about him, that he cries easily.

The wait was suffocating. Rin had calmed down and thanked Haru for coming despite his schedule.

"It wasn't easy. Coach didn't let me at first, then he hesitated and told me to go. I would have come anyway". Rin laughed at this, leaving Haru clueless as usual.

"Nanase Haruka?" a voice called out.

Makoto's family could not be there immediately and had given permission for the doctor to tell Haru what was going on. They treat him like their own son and knew how worried Haru would be.

"Hai." He got up and walked towards the doctor, he didn't expect Rin to follow him and saw him stiffen a little. "He'll be okay Rin".

The doctor proceeded to tell Haru, that Makoto had a concussion somewhere between mild-hard, he had a cut on his head, but it's not as bad as it seems. Though he may suffer from headaches for a little while. He has some broken ribs, in which one punctured his lung, but they were able to fix it. He may be wheezing for a while, before his lung is at full capacity again. He has a broken ankle and would need physiotherapy. He's also broken his left collarbone, and we'll know more on his condition with the concussion when he wakes up tomorrow.

Haru took in all this, he wasn't the same as before, this time he listened carefully. His eyes widened at the fact that his brother had so many broken bones and that his lung got punctured. His mind wandered a little, but still paid attention to the doctor.

He made Makoto worry more by not returning his calls, He was too concerned with his training and did not bother about Makoto at all, He even missed the signs today when they finally saw each other, he should have known, he should have trusted his gut. Haru fought internally with his mind. He knew Makoto would tell his to stop and it's not his fault. But he still did it anyway. When the doctor was done, he closed his eyes and took a deep breath in, vowing that he would ensure that Makoto was well again to resume swimming and called Makoto's parents to relay the doctor's message.

Rin grew anxious. Why was the doctor talking so long with Haru. He saw glimpses of both their faces, the doctor was smiling, which gave him some hope. He couldn't read Haru's expression at all. Then he saw the doctor's smile fade away and Haru's eyes widen, which in turn made him think grave thoughts. He didn't want to look at them anymore and decided to stare at the floor trying to burn a hole in the ground.

He saw Haru approach him from the side finally and turned to looked at him with curious concerned eyes. Haru saw his purple haired brother's worry and sighed internally. He would relay the doctor's message in a nice way. He was the one responsible for Makoto's situation after all.
