Imagine talking about your memories with Klaus as you're dying
You laid in Klaus' arms, slowly dying. Klaus was running his hands through your hair and holding you to comfort you. You had been bitten by Lucien and now you were dying.
"I'm so sorry, Y/n," Klaus apologized, sounding like he was going to burst into tears.
"It's not your fault, Klaus. Just know that I love you," you said weakly, offering him a small smile. He smiled in return, but it was so fake.
"I love you as well, Y/n," Klaus said, sighing. He glanced down at the wedding ring he had got you. He had proposed not too long ago, and you were supposed to get married. You followed his gaze to it, and lifted up your hand to get a better look at it.
"It's a shame we never got to get married," you commented.
"Yes, it is. You would have looked gorgeous in a wedding dress," Klaus replied, reaching down and holding your hand in his.
"You were so extra with the proposal," you said, with a small laugh, and you thought of the memory.
"Klaus, this is beautiful," you commented, stepping on to the gazebo. Klaus was dressed in a tux, and he was smiling at you. In the middle sat a table, with a white cloth, a vase with roses, and two chairs.
"I'm glad you like it, love," Klaus said, pulling out a chair for you to sit down you smiled at him and sat. You scooted in the chair as he went to his own. He sat down, before folding his hands and looking at you.
"So, what's for dinner?" You asked.
"Your favorite," Klaus replied.
"Again? We always have my favorite when we go on dates. I mean I don't mind it, and I like it, but when do we get to have your favorite?" You asked, feeling bad. Klaus just smiled in response.
"I don't care what I eat, Y/n. So, whatever you want, I want," Klaus explained.
"You're so sweet," you said, smiling at him. Soon a woman came out and gave you both a drink, before walking away.
"The food should be done soon, are you hungry?" Klaus asked.
"Starving," you replied.
"Well, it should be done any minute now," Klaus said, before asking you about your day. You went on to explain your entire day, and by the time you were done, the same lady brought you two your food.
"Thank you," you said, and she nodded. Klaus had obviously compelled her. You immediately began digging into your meal, enjoying every bite.
"Is it good, love?" Klaus asked.
"Very," you replied, "I don't know where you find these master chefs at, but they're good."
"Actually, Elijah made it," Klaus said, causing you to look up from your food.
"Dang, looks like I'm dating the wrong brother," you joked, and in response Klaus gave you a playful glare. At the beginning of your relationship, he would have taken that personally and seriously, but since you had been dating for a while, he got used to your jokes. The two of you finished your food.
"Would you like any dessert?" Klaus asked.
"Nope, I'm good. Now, tell me, why'd you take me out tonight?" You asked, crossing your arms.
"What? I can't take my girlfriend out for a nice dinner with having an ulterior motive?" Klaus asked, raising an eyebrow.
"No, no, you can't. Now tell me," you said.
"Wait a minute," Klaus said, and snapped his fingers, soon a slow song began playing.
"Klaus Mikaelson, what are you doing?" You asked, giving him a look.
"Would you like to dance, Y/n?" He asked, standing up and offering his hand to you. You took it and let him pull you into his arms, "Did I tell you that you looked breath taking tonight?"
"I don't think so," you said.
"Oh, well, in that case, you look breath taking, love," he said, spinning you around before you landed back into his arms.
"Thank you," you replied, blushing, "You look pretty good too." After years, Klaus still had that effect on you when he complimented you. And you weren't sure that it would ever go away, but Klaus didn't mind, he thought you were absolutely adorable when you blushed. You two just enjoyed each other's company for a moment, before the song ended.
You sighed lovingly when it did, and then Klaus pulled away. He took your hands in his and looked into your eyes.
"Y/n, you're aware that I love you, right?" He asked.
"Yes? Of course I am. I love you too, Klaus," you said, smiling at him.
"I actually wanted to ask you something," Klaus said.
"Go right ahead," you said, wanting him to go on. You were curious what he had to say.
"These past few years with you have been wonderful. And I couldn't imagine myself with anyone else, besides you. You're the most beautiful, sweetest, most perfect woman that I have ever laid my eyes on," he said, before slowly letting your hands go and getting down on one knee, "Now, Y/n L/n, will you make me the most lucky man on this earth, and become Mrs. Y/n Mikaelson?"
"Yes!" You exclaimed, and Klaus slid the ring onto your finger, before passionately kissing you.
"I was not extra," Klaus said, "I was giving you the proposal you deserved."
"You were extra," you said.
"No, I wa-" Klaus stopped and said, "Oh whatever." As you were laying in his arms, your dog, D/n (dog's name), jumped onto the bed.
"Hey D/n," you said, reaching out and gently petting them on their head. They laid their head on your thighs and gave you a sad look. You offered the dog a small smile, and said, "I think they know I'm dying."
"I do as well," Klaus said.
"You'll take good care of him, right?" You asked.
"Yes, of course I will, Y/n. I'm the one who got him for you after all," Klaus said, before recalling the memory.
"Why do I need to be blindfolded?" you asked, as Klaus led you in a door. As soon as you went in the door you were hit with a song scent and you hurt a bunch of smalls growls and barks.
"You can take the blindfold off, love," Klaus said, and you reached behind your head and untied it. It fell of you were met with a bunch of puppies of your favorite breed of dog.
"Oh my god!" You exclaimed, going over the small fence and into the playpen. You sat down and a bunch of the puppies came up to you. Klaus smiled at you from the other side of the fence. You looked up at him and smiled, "Wait, so I can keep one!?"
"Yes, you can, Y/n," Klaus said, "Happy birthday."
"I love you so much, Klaus," you said, looking at all the puppies. Yours eyes landed on one that was playing in the corner with a toy, by themselves. You reached over and picked them up, and lifted them so they were at your eye level, "Hello there." The puppy attempted to lean forward and lick your face, but you moved away. You gave the dog some petting, before setting them down on your lap, "I want this one."
You were slowly drifting away, as you laid in Klaus' arms and you realized that you were almost gone.
"Klaus, I think I only have a few more seconds" you said, causing Klaus to lean down and kiss your forehead.
"Goodbye, Y/n. I love you, and I always will," he said.
"Promise?" You asked, using your last bit of energy to look up at him. He blinked and a tear ran down his cheek.
"Promise," he said, and then you closed your eyes and let yourself go. As soon as he knew you were gone, Klaus began sobbing. Your dog attempted to comfort him, but there wasn't much they could do.
You were gone, and Klaus was an emotional wreck.
