Kurt was so relieved that this was his last year in high school. He needed to get out of this cow town called Lima. It was the first day back, and he was on his way to pick up his best bow, Mercedes Jones. She was one of his only real friends. He had other "friends" in glee club, but none he could just open up to, and talk for hours.
As he pulled up into Mercedes's driveway, he honked the horn to signal that he was here. One minute later, the spunky girl came strutting out of her house with confidence beaming off of her.
"Let's go boo."
Kurt put the car in drive and rode away. "Are you ready for the best senior year ever!"
"Yes, let's go!" Mercedes squealed. This year was going to be the best because Kurt was positive he would make it the best school year he's had. After being bullied for over 3 years about being the only openly gay kid in school, all he wanted was just one peaceful year.
As the day went on, he saw a few kids he knew and some he didn't. One person everyone knew was Rachel fricken Berry. She was the most popular girl in the school. She was one of the original glee club members, and she had one of the best voices (not that anyone would ever admit that). She was a stuck up brat, who only cared about herself. But every boy would look her way and stare at her as she walked on by. But, Miss Rachel Berry was taken. She was dating the most popular boy in school, Blaine Anderson. He was the star boxer at William Mckinley High School and the male lead singer in the glee club. Every morning he walks into school, with his girlfriend in hand, claiming her in front of the entire school.
As Kurt and Mercedes were at their lockers, Mercedes was staring at the graphic PDA that Rachel and Blaine were demonstrating in the hallways.
"Have you ever kissed anyone…sober?" Mercedes asked.
He sighed, "No, I've never kissed anyone who wasn't drunk, or where I was drunk. But I want to. It must feel so much better." He looked longingly over to Blaine. So what if he had a tiny crush on him, it wasn't going to happen. Blaine was straight.
"Ok," said Kurt. "Stop it right there!" he shut his locker and turned to her. "Mercedes, we are in Glee Club. That means we are at the bottom of the social heap. Special Ed kids will get more play than us... The only ones in Glee that have a chance at getting any action are the cheerios and jocks, and obviously." as he rolled his eyes.
"The only thing that gets me by is knowing that we are superior to all of them," Kurt stated, "Come on, let's get to glee club."
As soon as they walked in, they were bombarded with Rachel and Blaine singing a power anthem about love. When they were finished they took their seats.
"Alright, nice job you guys! Welcome back," Mr. Schue said enthusiastically. He just kept talking about how this year they were going to go back to back nationals winners. But that didn't matter to most of the kids in the room, most of them just wanted solos for once. Everyone hated how it was always the Rachel Berry and Blaine Anderson show.
"So your first assignment, you are going to mash up two songs that perfectly describe your summer!" Everyone seemed pretty okay with their first assignment, but of course, little-miss Rachel Barry had something to say.
"I think that we should immediately start practicing for regionals." Everyone just rolled their eyes, as the bickering between her and Mr. Schue went on.
"Fine, then everyone starts making a list of songs that we could do for sectionals this year." Really, Kurt's one shot at a solo this year already looked very slim. As the bell rang, Kurt and Mercedes walked out of class straight to his car.
"I can't believe that little bitch took away our shot at solos," Mercedes proclaimed.
"I know right."
"Hey, Kurt. You wanna come over and brainstorm ideas for the setlist," she asked.
"Thanks, but I'm going to Scandals tonight. I just need to feel like I fit in for once," Scandals was the gay bar in town, and just sometimes Kurt would go there to relieve some stress of sticking out like a sour thumb at school. "It's not like any of the songs we choose are going to be used in anyways."
"True, do you need me to come with you," Mercedes asked.
"I'm good thanks."
"Okay, call me if you need anything tonight." Kurt nodded. "Thanks for the drive." As Mercedes walked up to her house Kurt drove away. Once he reached his house, Finn his freakishly tall, star quarterback step-brother was already home, as well as his girlfriend Quinn Fabray. She was a sweet girl that Kurt liked. She was head of the Cheerios, and leader of the celibacy club.
When Kurt's dad walked in, Kurt was sitting at the dining room table finishing up his homework.
"Hey, Kid," Burt said, "how you doing."
"Good… and finished." Kurt was done with all his work. "Hey Dad, can I Go over to Mercedes's house later tonight to work on a glee club assignment?" Kurt asked.
"Sure thing, just be back by 11."
Kurt nodded and headed out the door. Once he got to Scandals, he took out his fake-ide that he got from Puckerman, the glee club badass. The man at the front checked, and let him. Kurt made his way to the bar and ordered a coke. NO WAY was he drinking tonight, not when he was driving. He stared around to see the club. It was busy as usual and took it all in. He never felt like he would fit in in a place like Lima, Ohio, but here he was. Kurt danced a little, and just listened to music. He was getting compliments from other guys there on his clothing. He looked at his watch, it read 10:45. He grabbed his coat, but something caught his eye.
All he could do was stare…
It was Blaine…
Chapter TwoBlaine.
Blaine was there, dancing on the floor.
Kurt couldn't believe his eyes. All he could do was stare. Blaine stopped dancing because he noticed Kurt. And then just stood there. For what felt like forever, Kurt and Blaine's eyes were locked. All Kurt could do was stay there, but then he noticed Blaine walking towards him. So Kurt turned and ran out of the bar.
"Kurt! Wait!" Blaine yelled. Kurt stopped and turned around, now in the cold September air.
"Can you not tell anyone I was here…" Blaine said quietly, and his head down to the ground. Kurt just nodded, and walked back to his car, as a million thoughts went through his mind. He didn't even notice the 20 text messages from his Dad and Mercedes.
"SHIT!" He looked at the time, 11:15. He wasn't that late, he should be fine. He called his dad, it rang on once before Burt picked up the phone.
"Kurt! Where the hell is you! You were supposed to be home at 11. Yet, it's 11:18. You better be back here in less than ten minutes." Burt demanded.
"Ok," Kurt replied. But, he went and called Mercedes.
"Hello, Kurt. Are you Okay? Where are you? Why is your Dad calling me? I had to cover for you, so you better tell what is happening, RIGHT NOW!" Mercedes was practically screaming through the phone.
"I'm alright. I just lost the time," he lied. He didn't know what to think of Blaine, but Blaine asked him not to tell anyone that he was at Scandals. "Thank you for covering, I'll make it up to you. Tomorrow at work, I can get you coffee, my treat." He said.
"Alright," Mercedes said hesitantly, "Now get off the phone and get your ass home." So he hung up and drove home. It was only a ten-minute drive, but Kurt made it five minutes. He rushed into his house, flabbergasted. And his dad was sitting on the couch. And he did not look happy.
"Kurt, I know you were at Mercedes watching a movie, but you have to tell if you're running late," Burt stated. Damn, Mercedes really did cover his ass.
He nodded, "Sorry, it won't happen again." He went upstairs and passed on Finn's door. But then it flung open. Finn had the smuggest face ever. "What?" Kurt asked.
"How was your night," Finn questioned with a big smirk still on his face.
Kurt stormed into Finn's room, "I swear to God—"
"Grilled Cheesus," Finn stated.
"Whatever. You tell my dad where I was, I will reveal every piece of blackmail I have on you, including your browser history!" Kurt said very quietly but still very force full. Finn wasn't as stupid as he looked, and once he realized that Kurt was sneaking out to go to a bar, he put the information in his back pocket to use blackmail. Which then made Kurt get a lot of blackmail on Finn to even the scales.
Finn put his hands up in defense, "Fine." As Kurt continued to his room, all he could think about is why Blaine was there that night. And with that, he went to sleep.
The next day was harder than the first. Kurt got up as usual, but once he got to school his day went downhill. Kurt was still getting shoved into lockers by Karofsky and Amizo, while everyone just watched. It has been three years, haven't they had enough. He hadn't seen Blaine at all today, not even in the halls, Which was strange. Kurt knew Blaine's schedule down to a tea. Was that creepy? Yes. But Kurt was desperate to find love in the shit hole that he lived in. When he walked into the choir room he saw Blaine. There he was holding Rachel's hand in a deep container in front of the classroom. But Blaine stopped talking to her and glanced at Kurt. He just stared at him with worried eyes.
Nothing eventful happened today in glee. More of Rachel bickering with Sanatana and Mercedes on who should get more solos. So after school, he went to work at the Lima Bean, as he promised that he would get Mercedes some coffee to make it up to her.
"So, why were you so late last night," she lowered her voice, "did you meet anyone there?" She asked with a smirk plastered on her face.
"NO!" Kurt exclaimed, "nothing happened. As I said, I just lost the time." He hated lying to her, but there was something going on with Blaine that he could not tell her about.
"Ok, whatever," she rolled her eyes. "Can you believe Rachel today in glee? She was so stuck up." He nodded. Mercedes kept talking.
"KURT! Breaks over!" That was his boss, calling him from his 10-minute break.
"Gotta go, bye babe." He got up, hugged her, and went behind the counter. As he was taking people's orders he didn't notice that Blaine had walked in. He only realized once he was upfront, taking his order.
They just stared at each. There was only silence. What was going on with Blaine? Kurt was the first to break the silence.
"What were you doing at Scan—" he was quickly shushed by Blaine.
"Can we talk about this outside?" He asked. Kurt nodded as they headed out back, behind the Lime Bean.
Blaine looked down at the ground, "So… umm… you probably have a lot of questions."
"Why were you at Scandals last night, are you there often?" Kurt questioned.
"Yay, I'm there at least once a week," Blaine admitted. Kurt's head was spinning, how come he hasn't seen him there before. Kurt only went to the guy bar around once a month, but still why was he there so often.
"You didn't answer the first question," Kurt then slowly whispered, "Blaine, are you… gay?"
He didn't respond, but they both knew the answer. Blaine's eyes started to water. "Please… just don't tell any...anyone. It will destroy my family. My father is a very conservative Senator…" He stumbled with his words, and Kurt could only feel sympathy for the boy, "I don't know what he would do if he found out. I don't even know why that matters, I hate my father." All Kurt could do was hug the boy.
"I am so sorry," Kurt sighed, "If I had any idea—"
"No, no, no it's okay. I'm fine," Blaine said as he wiped his tears. He then forced a smile, "I'm okay, I don't even know why I told you this. Please don't tell anyone, especially Rachel."
Kurt nodded, "If you need anyone to talk to, I'm here."
"Thanks, I actually feel so much better. I've been keeping that inside for... over 7 years now."
"It's okay, I've been exactly where you are now," Kurt said.
"Um… bye Kurt, I'll...I'll see you later." And with that Blaine walked away. Kurt walked back into the Lima Bean, his mind was still filled with questions. He still had a big crush on the boy, but guys like Blaine would never like someone like Kurt. And Blaine was already going through enough, so Kurt didn't need to bother him anymore.
Chapter ThreeA few weeks passed, and Kurt hadn't talked to Blaine at all. They didn't even glance at each other in the hallways or in glee practice. Life went on as normal. Rachel was already getting solos for a competition months away. And Sanatana already had something to say. Sanatana was a school slut, she had slept with every good looking guy at this school. She always made her opinion heard. Like right now. She wanted a duet with her current boyfriend Puck Evans. He was a tall blonde and receiver for the football team. But she never actually loved him. She only had eyes for one. Brittany S. Pierce. She was Sanatana's BFF, and Sanatana was madly in love with Brittany. Not that she would let anyone know that.
After what seemed like hours of bickering between the girls the bell rang. But Rachel made sure to block the doors so no one could leave. As soon as Mr. Schue left for his history class, she made an announcement.
"Guy, shhh… I have an Announcement," Rachel said with a smile, "My Dads are gone this weekend, so you know what that means…. PARTY!" Everyone didn't really react, nor care.
"It's going to be Saturday night, yes there will be drinks." She announced. That seemed to get everybody's attention.
"It'll start at 9, see you then," she stated then walked out the room. Kurt could only roll his eyes. Like he was gonna go to that trash fire of a party. Anyways, that meant that his house was going to be empty. Finn was definitely going to be at the party, cause he might have a tiny crush on Rachel. Not that he would ever admit that to anyone, but sometimes it was just so obvious. Sure he liked Quinn but was madly in love with Rachel.
"Kurt, you going to the party?" Mercedes asked.
"Nope. My dad's canvassing for his seat in the house and Carol is going with him. That means I get the house to myself."
"Nooooo Kurt, please come with me," Mercedes whined.
"No, not coming."
"I'll take you shopping." Kurt lifted an eyebrow.
"I'm listening," Kurt said.
"Come with me to the party and I'll take you shopping."
"Fine," he groaned. He wasn't going to pass up an opportunity to get a few new pieces of clothing. "I'll pick you up. Let the Rachel Berry Train wreck extravaganza begin."
Saturday came, and Kurt put on the new outfit Mercedes bought for him. A red button-down shirt with a leather tie, and black skinny jeans. Kurt also now was in charge of taking Finn and Quinn to the party, which was a bummer. But Finn promised that he would be the designated driver and take everyone home. Which was good news to Kurt, because a Rachel Berry party was not something he could do sober.
When they got to the party, half the club was already there. Most of them were already tipsy like Sanatana and Artie were doing shots and licking salt off of Brittany. Which honestly wasn't surprising. Kurt put his jacket down, and immediately went to the bar and grabbed a couple of shots. Already after four shots, he felt much better.
Few hours went by, and by now everyone that wasn't a designated driver was drunk. Rachel was a pure sloppy drunk, Mercedes and Tina couldn't stop laughing, Puck, Mike, and Puck couldn't stop dancing, and the Cheerios had gone full stripper mode. And all Kurt wanted to do was watch what was going to happen next.
"Let's do the bottle make out game guys!" Rachel said slurring her words.
"YAHHHH!" Everyone cheered. Kurt sat down next to Rachel in a circle, and they used one of the many empty bottles of tequila to spin. Many combos of the New Directions made out, Mercedes and Puck, Sanatana and Artie, Puck and Tina, Kurt and Quinn. Everyone was already so wasted no one cared that everyone was making out with each other's partners.
It was Blaine's turn next. As he spun the bottle, Kurt's mind went blank and he stared off in the distance. As the bottle kept spinning and spinning, it stopped right in the middle of Kurt and Rachel. Kurt then woke up from his funk and stared at Blaine. Blaine stared back as there were "ohs" coming from the rest of the group. It was like the alcohol from both the boys fled from their bodies because they both now remembered that conversation they had weeks ago. It had felt like time had frozen, and Blaine looked scared and he didn't know what to do. But soon the moment was over because Rachel had drunkenly leaped onto her boyfriend and shoved her tongue down his throat.
Kurt could just sit there and watch them make out, so he stood up and took a giant swig of vodka. He felt sick just watching them make out, or was that all the alcohol. Either way, he rushed to the toilet and doubled over everything in his stomach, until there was nothing left. As he slowly regathered himself he went back out to the main room where Rachel and Blaine were singing "Don't You Want Me." And all he could do was stare lavishly at Blaine. His eyes followed him with every move. Kurt just sat back in a corner and stared for hours. That was until Finn went to tell him that they were leaving.
"Let's go, come on," Finn said, "Time to go, it's 3 in the morning and you're going to be super hungover tomorrow."
"Ugh…" Kurt moaned he had never been so tired. As they walked to the car, Finn had to practically throw Kurt in the car. He noticed that Mercedes was passed out next to him, and Quinn was with Finn up front in the passenger seat. She hadn't had too much to drink so she was still functioning as a human. And that is all Kurt remembered from that night.
Kurt woke up the next morning with a pounding headache. He was in his bed, not knowing how he got there. But he slowly collected himself and made his way downstairs where Finn and Quinn were. She must have stayed the night.
"Hey, bud." Finn said, "how are you doing?"
"I feel like my head was stomped on, and whatever you made for breakfast is going to make me throw up," Kurt moaned.
"Yay, that makes sense considering you had around 15 shots."
Kurt rolled his eyes, but that honestly hurt his head so much more. "Why's Quinn here." He asked.
"She wanted to spend the night here, and Burt was out so I thought why not." He smiled at her. God knows what they did last night when Kurt was passed out.
All the weekend was Kurt basically just dry heaving and sleeping. Monday came around, and Kurt still wasn't completely fine, but good enough to go to school. As he walked into the glee club, he saw plenty of the members looked like they were still hungover as well. Blaine looked pretty alright though. His hair wasn't gelled back as well, but he still made an effort to look well. Blaine was sitting up front with Rachel practically sitting on his lap, how did she not know that Blaine was gay? Rachel would not be okay if she knew that she was Blaine's beard.
Kurt sat in the back like normal next to Mercedes. He wasn't listening to Blaine and Rachel's conversation that much, but something caught his attention.
"Do you wanna come over to my house Saturday night?" Rachel asked with a smirk on her face and a twinkle in her eye.
"Ohh, I'm sorry babe. My father is hosting dinner then, and I just can't miss dinners with him. You know how much they mean to me." Blaine responded.
"Okay, that's fine. Maybe we can hang out another time then." Rachel said, "I really love the relationship you have with your dad, it's so great, and I don't want to get in the way." That's weird. Kurt remembered Blaine saying he hated his father. Where was Blaine actually going? Kurt had an idea, but it wasn't a good one.
Chapter FourSaturday night rolled around, and Kurt was going to find out where Blaine was actually. Well, Kurt knew where he was going to be, it was Scandals. So Kurt thought it would be smart and just check up on Blaine at the bar. What could possibly go wrong? This time, Kurt told nobody where he was going, not even Mercedes.
When Kurt arrived at the bar, it was packed. There were men everywhere you looked. But Kurt, like normal, just sat at the bar and waited. It had been a least an hour, and Kurt was on his second coke, and Blaine was nowhere in sight. Kurt was just about to leave, but then he spotted someone familiar on the dance floor.
It was Blaine.
There he was, with his gorgeous hair gelled down. And bright golden eyes. He looked like he was having so much fun. And Blaine was. He was so happy at that moment in time, he was smiling ear to ear. Blaine stopped for a moment and caught a glance at Kurt's eyes. And he motioned Kurt to come out on the dance floor.
Did Blaine really just ask Kurt to dance with him? But without hesitation or checking the time on his phone, Kurt jumped in. He was there, dancing with Blaine. The boys were dancing like maniacs. They were wild, messy, and free. Blaine was in complete bliss when he was around Kurt, he for the first time was joyful. Something he had not felt in a long time. As they kept dancing, Blaine would sometimes stare longingly at Kurt, when Kurt wasn't looking of course. And Kurt would sometimes look at Blaine when he realized that Blaine was staring at him.
As the night went on, the boys were still dancing. But with each passing song, they were dancing closer and closer together. Kurt was the first to realize what was happening because his hands were on Blaine's waists. He didn't know if he should stop, but then Blaine put his arms around Kurt. They started to dance upon each other with greater friction. And it felt amazing. Blaine's hands would sometimes slide down to Kurt's thighs and would squeeze them. And Kurt liked it, he liked it a lot.
"Guys and Dudes! This is your 10-minute warning. It is almost five." The DJ announced on the microphone. Kurt started at Blaine. He had no idea that they had been dancing for so long, or that it was almost five in the morning.
"Hey, Kurt," Blaine said practically screaming, "I hate to be the buzzkill, but I need to get home before my parents wake up."
"That's fine, I should get going too," Kurt replied.
As they walked out of the bar, there was a crisp morning dew all around them. The sun was slowly starting to rise and was reflecting off the little drops of water on the grass. Blaine nor Kurt knew what to say next, they just stood there in silence. Until it was broken.
"I had an um… great night," Blaine said.
Kurt smiled at him, "Same here." There was still a lot of silence, but it wasn't bad.
Blaine looked at Kurt with loving eyes, debating what was going to happen next. All Blaine could do was just stare at the porcelain boy, with the most beautiful smile ever. And his eyes that looked like the sea.
"I… I should get going," Kurt stammered out his words. Blaine nodded. They started to move closer together, into a weird awkward hug. After a few seconds passed with each other in their arms, they broke apart. Another beat of silence.
"Okay, um I'll see you at lat—," Kurt was cut off by Blaine's gentle lips upon his. Kurt could not believe this was happening, but as he realized slowly he melted into the kiss. Blaine put his arms around Kurt's shoulders and pulled them closer together. The sun was now officially risen, and the sky was the most perfect shade of pink and orange. As they slowly pulled away from each other, they took slow breaths as they both needed the oxygen. All Blaine could do was stare into Kurt's eyes and with Kurt the same.
"I'm sorry—, I need to go," Blaine stumbled with his words and walked off to his car. Kurt just stood there, in shock as he watched the boy's car drive out into the distance. As Kurt regathered his thoughts, he didn't even realize the familiar car that had driven into the parking lot.
"KURT!" A stern voice yelled.
Kurt looked up, "Dad?"
"WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING HERE!" Burt yelled.
"Nothing," Kurt didn't know what to say.
"So why does nothing look like you stayed all night partying at a bar!"
"Ummm… what are you doing back so soon? You were supposed to get in tomorrow?"
"We had to shorten the trip by a day. YOU DIDN'T ANSWER MY QUESTION!"
Kurt didn't know what to say or to do. He just blinked at his father.
"When we get home, go straight to your room. You lost your car privileges," Burt stated.
Kurt nodded.
"Kurt, I'm not dumb. Give me your ID."
He placed the card in his dad's hands and hoped in his car. What was he going to tell him this time? As he drove home, his mind wasn't on the fact that his dad just busted him for going to a bar. He had just had his first real kiss. And it was with Blaine Anderson. He couldn't believe it, he was blushing and smiling ear to ear.
Once he got home, he did as his father asked of him and walked upstairs. He laid his car keys on the kitchen table, where he knew his dad would see them. He got up to his room and laid down on his bed. He couldn't stop smiling. He was way too happy for someone that got caught sneaking out to a bar. But that didn't matter. Kurt just kept replaying the events of what happened in his head.
Chapter FiveThere was a knock at Kurt's Bedroom door.
"Hey, Kurt. Are you okay?" It was Finn.
"Oh, it's you," Kurt replied, "Perfect." He smiled remembering the events that had occurred that night.
Finn was confused, how come Kurt was this content? "Okay."
"Why didn't you tell anyone where you were?" Finn asked.
"It was nobody's business."
"Well all of us were out looking for you at two in the morning, driving around town," Finn said, "Burt, even called Mercedes to see if you were there."
"Oh no, he did."
"Yep," Finn nodded.
"How did my dad find out where I was in the first place?"
Finn stayed silent.
"The only two people that knew where I was, was Mercedes, and she would never tell any—," Kurt paused to think, "IT WAS YOU!"
"Kurt, look I'm sorry. Nobody knew where you were."
"You still had no right to tell my dad!" Kurt was fucking pissed.
"Kurt, I didn't even know if you would be there."
"So!"
"What if something happened at the bar, and I was the only person who was going to tell Burt were you where!"
"THAT DOESN'T MEAN YOU CAN TELL MY DAD WHERE I AM."
"I'm sorry that I care about your safety," Finn stated firmly.
"WELL YOU DIDN'T SEEM TO CARE LAST YEAR WHEN I WAS GETTING DEATH THREATS!" Kurt immediately wished he hadn't said that.
Finn looked at him with hurt eyes and walked out of Kurt's room. Kurt was so mad at himself, he knew that Finn did all that he could last year to help him. But still, he didn't have to tell Burt that he was at a bar. Kurt was still so pissed. He started to throw some of his books against the wall. That ended when Kurt realized he hadn't slept in a long time, and passed out on his bed.
Kurt woke up two hours later, but still somehow re-energized. Kurt made his way downstairs to eat some breakfast, as he had not eaten in a while.
"Kurt."
He turned around to find his dad was sitting on the couch, staring directly at him.
"Kurt," Burt said again.
"What."
"Why the HELL were you at that bar last night?" Burt exclaimed.
"Cause, I like going."
"But, still. You're underage, it was five in the morning, and you were alone. What the FUCK were you thinking?" He yelled.
Kurt didn't respond. No way in hell was he telling his dad why he was actually there.
"What if something happened to you, and we couldn't find you?"
"I don't know."
Burt sighed, "GOD, it's a good thing I love you."
Kurt didn't know what was coming next, he just looked at the floor.
"You're not driving anywhere for a month."
"What no, that's unfair," Kurt proclaimed.
"Your GLAD I'm letting you leave the house!" Burt said, "and if I find out that you go there again, I'll sell your car."
Kurt huffed and walked straight back up to his room. He texted Mercedes: Hey, can you drive us to school for the next month?
From Mercedes: Sure. Why?
To Mercedes: I'll tell you tomorrow.
When the next morning came around, Mercedes pulled up to the Hummel-Hudson household a few minutes late. Kurt huffed himself into her car. He was still so mad, at Finn and the fact that he couldn't drive himself anywhere.
"Hey boo," Mercedes said.
"Hey," Kurt said tiredly.
"So as much as I like driving, why do I have to take us to school?" She asked.
"My dad found out about Scandals."
"Oh shit." Mercedes looked shocked, "Is that why he called me at three in the morning?"
"Yay. Sorry about that. Oh and thanks for keeping your mouth shut, something Finn needs to learn," the last part he murmured.
"So Finn rated you out?"
"Yep," Kurt rolled his eyes, "He said it was a last resort."
"The boy was probably scared that they couldn't find you."
"So."
"You have to know how bad that boy feels for not doing anything last year," Mercedes explained.
"I guess."
"You should be lucky you have people who care about you."
"I guess you're right," Kurt said.
Mercedes pulled her car into the school, and they headed off to their first classes. As Kurt walked through the school, he was looking for someone. Blaine. Kurt needed to talk to Blaine, he needed to know what that kiss was about. But Kurt never found Blaine in the hallways.
As the school day went on, Kurt still hadn't seen Blaine. That was until he saw him. There Blaine was, dreamy as every. His eyes were gleaming with gold flakes of happiness. He walked down the hallway, with Rachel, hand in hand. Right, he had a girlfriend. Blaine caught a glimpse of Kurt's light sky blue eyes and remembered how he looked at them that night they kissed. Then he remembered the girl whose hand he was holding as they strutted down the hallways.
When it was time for the glee club, Kurt went straight to his regular seat, not making eye contact with Blaine. Mercedes a few seconds later came in and sat right next to him like normal, and started talking about what to expect of the new assignment for glee.
"Ballad," Mr. Shue began his lesson, pointing to the whiteboard. "From Middle English ballád. Who knows what this word means?"
Rachel and Kurt raised their hands. "It's a male duck," Brittany blurted out. The entire class gave her sideways glances.
"Kurt," Mr. Shue pointed at him so he could answer.
"A ballad is a love song."
"Sometimes," Will explained. "But they don't always express love. Ballads are stories set to music, which is why they're the perfect storm of self-expression." Everyone started to nod slowly, getting the meaning.
"We need more emotion in our performances. So you will pair up with someone and sing ballads to each other." Mr. Shue said. Easy enough. Everybody already knew who they would be paired up with. Kurt & Mercedes, Blaine & Rachel, Quinn & Finn, Sanatana & Puck, Brittany & Artie, and finally Tina & Mike.
"I pick Blaine," Rachel blurted out. Everyone in class rolled their eyes like they didn't know that this would happen.
"No, no, no," Will interjected. "Too easy. Your partners will be chosen by fate." The room filled with choruses of anticipation as Will walked to the piano. "I've put each of your names into this hat. Whoever you choose is your partner. Who's up first?"
Puck went first and got Mercedes, she rolled her eyes. Then, Rachel, she was paired with Finn, he was quite excited. Sanatana chose Brittany's name. Quinn was with Artie, and Tina and Mike were still together. As now it was Kurt's turn to pick someone's name out of the hat, he marched forward, not realizing there was only one person left. He reached his hand for the small piece of paper and opened it gently. He read it and couldn't believe the name he saw on it.
Blaine.
"Kurt, who is it?" Mercedes asked.
Kurt stared straight at him and said, "Blaine."
Chapter Six"Blaine."
"Okay, that's everyone," Mr. Shue said, "Go start talking on when to meet up." Kurt slowly walked back to his seat in the back of the classroom and stared at the wall. Blaine made his way towards Kurt's chair and sat next to him.
"Hey."
"Hi," Kurt whispered.
There was an awkward silence, where neither boys knew what to say.
"Ummm—," Blaine was cut off.
"We need to talk… about what happened,"
Blaine nodded and stared at him, "We can meet in the auditorium later today, four o'clock."
"Yay, that works."
"Okay," The bell rang, and Blaine walked out of the choir room. As Kurt was just about to leave for his class, Mercedes got in front of him and asked:
"What the hell was going on between you and the white boy?"
"I don't know, he is probably just weirded out by working with me," Kurt lied.
"True, we both know that boy is a stuck up piece of trash."
"Yay," he said reluctantly, he looked at the clock, "Oh, I have to go meet him in the auditorium."
As he started to walk to the auditorium, thoughts were racing through his mind. He didn't even realize the 200-pound jock walking right towards him. Karofsky shoved his hand onto Kurt's shoulders, and he flew face-first into the lockers.
"That's what you get for being a fairy," Karofsky remarked. Kurt slipped down onto the ground and recollected himself. He touched his nose. He was bleeding, and it hurt a lot. He couldn't go and see Blaine like this and rushed into the bathroom to grab some towels.
To Blaine: Hey, can we meet at another time? I have to go home.
From Blaine: Sure, Tomorrow same time?
To Blaine: Ok
Kurt grabbed a few more towels to the road and rushed out of the bathroom. Shit, he thought. He didn't have his car. As he walked towards the entrance of the school he walked straight into another student.
"Ow," Kurt recognized that voice.
Kurt looked up, it was Blaine, "You okay?"
"Yay, I'm fine."
"Kurt, are you bleeding?" Blaine asked.
"No," he said quickly.
"Yes, you are. What happened?"
"I tripped and fell."
"Sure," Blaine knew he was lying, "Come here, I can help get you cleaned up."
Blaine grabbed onto Kurt's arm and pulled him into the closest bathroom, and locked the door. He sat Kurt down next to the sink and ran the water. He grabbed a few new paper towels and dampened them under the stream of cold water. He got close to Kurt's face and removed the towel he was already holding to his nose.
"It looks like it already stopped bleeding," Blaine said.
He lifted Kurt's head up and started to dab the wet towel under his nose, to clean up the residual blood.
"You seem to know a lot about cleaning up nose blood."
"Yay, you get used to them once you've been knocked in the face from boxing," Blaine explained.
Kurt smiled and looked into Blaine's eyes.
Blaine smiled, "There, all done."
"Thanks," Kurt replied, He didn't even notice that he and Blaine's faces were very close together. "Um… the only reason that I said I couldn't meet today was because of this," He motioned to his face, "Do you wanna go back to the auditorium?"
"Sure," Blaine replied.
The boys were silent as they walked back to the auditorium. They didn't know what to say, or what to do. They both remembered what happened Saturday night, but didn't know what it meant. When the boys got to the auditorium he sat down on the piano stool, where Blaine sat upon the stage letting his feet hang off the side. They both just sat there in silence not knowing what to do. But Kurt just flat up asked:
"What was the kiss?"
"I...I don't really know," Blaine said.
"Oh," not exactly what Kurt wanted to say, "It sounded like you said that you were sorry after, why?"
"I don't know. I don't know about anything, it was kind of a spur of the moment thing."
"Okay," he didn't know what to say next. He made his way up towards Blaine and sat right next to him on the stage. "We can just forget it happened."
"No, I don't want that," Blaine said. "It was kind of nice." He whispered. Kurt's eyes bugged out when he heard the last part.
"Really?" He asked, staring straight into Blaine's beautiful eyes.
"Yay," Blaine said, "Kurt, did anyone tell you how beautiful your eyes were." Silence. That's what there was. Kurt slowly started to move towards him and put his lip on Blaine's. Blaine started to lean more into the kiss, as he caressed Kurt's check-in his palm. Kurt put his arms around Blaine's torso. Kurt opened his mouth a little to let Blaine's tung to meet his. As they kissed more, Blaine realized that this kiss was actually enjoyable. Not like his other ones with Rachel.
The kiss prolonged until Kurt felt his phone ring in his pocket, he slowly pulled away from Blaine, it was Mercedes.
"Fucking why Mercedes," Kurt said underneath his breath.
"Hey Boo, I'm leaving school, do you need me to take you home," she asked over the phone.
"Ugh," he rolled his eyes, "Sure, I'll be right there."
"Who was that," Blaine asked, with a sparkled in his eyes.
"Mercedes, she is waiting for me outside."
"Oh," Blaine looked saddened, "Can, we meet tomorrow? Same place, same time."
"Sure," Kurt replied. He got up and grabbed his bag, and started to walk towards the door.
"Wait," Blaine said as he ran up to Kurt. Placed a small peck on Kurt's lips, "I'll see you tomorrow."
"Bye."
As Kurt walked into the parking lot, he saw Mercedes's car. He hopped in with a giddy smile on his face. Mercedes drove them in silence. She looked over to Kurt where he still had that childish smile on his face.
"Ok, what happened between you and the white boy?" She asked.
"Nothing, it's just that "Runway Models" is on tonight," that wasn't a total lie, "Runway Model" was actually on tonight.
"Sure," she glanced at him, "So are you just not going to tell."
"Mercedes a swear nothing happened," he wiped the dopey look off his face and said, "Blaine just stood there and talked about Rachel, and how he wanted to sing a song about how much he loves her."
"Yay that sounds like him," she pulled up to Kurt's house, "There you go, I'll see you tomorrow."
"Bye." Kurt walked straight up to his room and laid on his bed. He stared at the ceiling, and closed his eyes, replaying what happened on the stage.
Chapter SevenWhen Blaine walked into his house, he felt like he was floating. He was on cloud-9 and completely happy after what happened at school. He was smiling ear to ear and blushing. He had never felt this way with any other girl, only Kurt. Blaine thought he should sing Kurt a song, for the ballad assignment they had to do. And he found the perfect song.
When Blaine's father came home, he didn't seem happy. "Blaine, why are you so happy? This world sucks. No reason to be happy." Mr. Anderson was a tall man, with fair skin. He always had bags under his eyes and angry eyebrows. He normally came home once every couple of weeks to see his wife. "You keep smiling so much, people will think you're a fairy."
"Sorry dad, I'm just happy because I aced a math test," Blaine said, wiping the smile from him and getting back to his life.
"Oh, that's good. That means your grades are good for law schools in the country." Mr. Anderson wanted his son to be a spitting image of him, become a senator, or a respected lawyer. "I think you should stop the freakin glee club, it's too feminine."
"But, I love glee. It's the best part of my day."
"It's still too girly. You should do more sports, you know more masculine things."
"I'm already the lead boxer at Mckinley," Blaine said
"True, but if I see your grades falter for even a second you're out. I don't need colleges thinking you have too many emotions to be a lawyer," His father explained.
"Yes, dad."
"Oh, go easy on him sweetie. He is already so successful," That was Blaine's mother.
Blaine's mother was already in the kitchen working on dinner as she always did. She was smaller and had short curly hair. Blaine had a lot of her attributes, but he had his father's eyes. His mother was a kind, youthful soul. She never had a bad thing to say, and always agreed with her husband. She was very old fashioned and so was Mr. Anderson.
"How was your day, sweetie," She asked her son.
"Good."
"And you Harold, how are things doing in the senate?"
"Terrible. Those fucking fags are trying to get more rights. They want to marry now, it's revolting," Mr. Anderson complained.
"I'm sorry," Mary Anderson handed her husband a beer.
"Ah, you know me so well."
Blaine went upstairs to his room, he slammed his door. He hated his family, they already resented him for dating a girl with two dads. How was he actually going to be able to be himself in front of them? He really liked Kurt, not Rachel. Rachel meant nothing to him.
The next day at school, Kurt was bouncing up and down with anticipation for what was to come later in the day. He was smiling, the first real smile in a while.
When the time came to meet Blaine at the auditorium again he came strutting through hallways. He pushed open the double doors to the auditorium and found Blaine sitting on the piano stool.
"Hey," Kurt said.
Blaine looked at him, with tears in his eyes.
"Blaine?" Kurt rushed up to him, "What's wrong?"
"Everything. My life, it's terrible." He cried, tears streaming down his face. "My father wants me to be exactly like him, a lawyer. I don't want to be a lawyer… and he hates that I'm in the glee club and that it's turning me gay." Kurt had nothing but empathy for the boy. "And he hates them so much… he came home yesterday and just started going off on how they're ruining this country, and how they should never get any rights because being gay is a sin" He cried into Kurt's shoulder.
"Blaine, I'm so sorry," he wiped the tears off of the sad boy's face, "I had no idea."
"No, it's okay. I didn't tell anyone."
"Blaine," Kurt looked at him. He didn't know what to do for him. "If you ever need to talk to me or just vent, I am here for you… You shouldn't be keeping these feelings like these bottles up."
"Thank you," Blaine placed a small sweet kiss on Kurt's lips, "I really needed to hear that." The boys stayed there just leaning on each other.
"Kurt," Blaine looked at him, "I was thinking about a song that I could sing to you for our assignment."
"Ok."
Blaine motioned for Kurt to sit in the audience, he sat back down at the piano. He started playing keys on the piano with so much emotion.

When Blaine was done on the piano, tears were streaming down his face. Kurt rushed back up the stage and threw himself at Blaine. He leaped into his arms and gave him the most passionate kiss he could concur up. Kurt had tears of happiness streaming down his face. As the broke away Kurt looked into Blaine's eyes, they looked so happy and distraught at the same time.
"Do you mean it, everything you just sang?" Kurt asked.
"Every single word," Blaine hugged Kurt, "I really like your Kurt. And I have all these feelings for you that I don't know how to express. I just want to be with you."
"I do too," Blaine smiled, "But Blaine, what about… everything."
"Could we just keep us a secret?" Blaine asked.
"For now, of course." Kurt took his boyfriend in and kissed him.
"I was thinking maybe we could go up to Scandals Friday night, just us?"
"Ohh. My dad found out that I was sneaking out to a bar, and now I can't go anymore."
"Oh."
"Yay, but I know of a Coffee shop we can go to. It is about 30 minutes away so no one we know should be there."
"That sounds nice." Blaine kissed Kurt again, he was completely happy.
Chapter EightA few days had passed since Kurt and Blaine became an official couple. After school they would hang out, they would go to Kurt's house and sing songs from "Moulin Rouge" and "Wicked". Everything was good, except for one thing. Rachel.
Blaine now had to split his time between Rachel, and the person he truly wanted to be with. Rachel already started to take notice that Blaine wasn't spending as much time with her as possible, and she was freaking out.
"Blaine, why are you spending so much time with Kurt?" She asked in front of the entire glee club. Everyone stared at Blaine, even Mr. Shuester.
"He's my partner for our assignment in the glee club, why else," He replied.
"Well, then why do you always choose to practice with him instead of going out with me?" She pleaded. Most of the New Directions just rolled their eyes.
"Uh… We can go to the movies later tonight. How about that?"
"Perfect." She leaped up to him and hugged him happily. There went Kurt and Blaine's date for tonight.
"Okay, now that that debacle is over with," Mr. Shue stated as he walked back to the front of the room, "I was thinking a few of you could sing some ballads for us all." The rest of the room seemed to like that idea, singing in front of the room meant solos.
"You can sing by yourself or in your partnerings, either one I don't care." He finished. The bell rang, "Good meeting today guys, see you guys later."
"Hey, Kurt," Blaine said a little too loudly, "Can you stay back so we can reschedule our practice?"
"Sure," Kurt replied. Once everybody emptied the choir, Blaine looked around to make sure no one was looking. He grabbed Kurt's hand and brought him in for a sweet kiss.
"Thank you for that," Kurt smiled.
"For what," Blaine was also smiling, "I'm sorry we can't hang out later today."
"Blaine, It's fine."
"But it's not. I hate how Rachel is always over me. And my Dad already thinks she is a distraction. I really just want to spend time with you," Blaine whined.
"Blaine, it's really okay. I was going to cancel anyway, I have to make dinner tonight," Kurt said. "My Dad and Carol are near Cleveland canvassing, and Finn can't feed himself."
"Oh, okay. But can we make plans later this week to do something?" Kurt asked, desperately trying to spend time with his boyfriend.
"Definitely," Blaine replied. He gave Kurt a quick peck on the lips and went his way.
"Bye," Kurt said longingly.
"Hey Kurt," Mercedes was waiting around the corner from the choir room. He stopped dead in his tracks.
"Hey, Mercedes," he didn't know if she heard any of the conversations.
"Hey, I was wondering if you wanted to come overnight and watch a movie?" She asked completely dismissing his conversation in the glee club.
"Sure, why not, just after I make dinner," Kurt responded.
"Good enough for me."
When Kurt got home, he didn't feel like making anything grand so he took some bread and cheese, and made some grilled cheese for Finn and himself. It was a very simple task to do, but leaving it to Finn would have probably resulted in calling the fire department. He left a note on the counter, for Finn to say: Going to Mercedes's, won't be home till late.
Once at her house, they went straight upstairs to Mercedes's room. They sat on her bed and decided to watch a good old classic, "The Sound of Music." They would sing most of the songs in the movie and would laugh at each other's impressions. Kurt was having so much fun, he completely forgot about his boyfriend troubles.
"Hey Kurt, why did Blaine pull you back at the end of class today?" Mercedes asked. While that lasted about 30-minutes.
"We were thinking about performing a ballad in front of the club, and we rescheduled a rehearsal," He was getting better at this whole lying to Mercedes thing. Not that he liked lying to her, he would want nothing more than just to tell her all of the problems that he was facing.
"Okay, then why is he all of the sudden spending so much time with you," She proceeded, "Don't act like we didn't hear the conversation Rachel had with Blaine."
"Uhhh…" Kurt didn't know what to say, "I don't, that's a good question."
"I just think something fishy is going on there, what if—" Mercedes was cut off by a ringing of Kurt's phone.
"One sec," Kurt went to pick up his phone, assuming it was Finn. But it was Blaine.
He picked it up immediately, "Hey."
"Kurt…" Blaine sounded like he was crying, "Kurt, I'm outside your house. Are you home?"
"No, I'm at Mercedes's place. I'm coming home now." Kurt hung up. "Hey, that was Finn. He needs me home because he thinks he broke the sink… somehow." That was the best thing Kurt could come up with on the spot.
"Okay, I'll see you tomorrow," Mercedes said, "Do you need me to drive you?"
"I think I'll be fine, thanks though." Kurt grabbed his coat, "Bye." He dashed down the stairs and flew out the front door. He sprinted down the street, Mercedes didn't live that far from him but it was still a long walk. But, Blaine needed him and it sounded urgent. With each step, Kurt ran faster and faster. He was dashing through the streets until he was out of breath. He paused and caught his breath. Then immediately got back up it to a run. Once he reached his house, he saw Blaine. He was leaning against his car and had puffy wet eyes. Kurt didn't stop running until he reached and put Blaine a warm comforting hug.
"Blaine, baby what's wrong?" Kurt asked, "Why are you here? Aren't you supposed to be at Rachel's?"
Blaine sniffled, "Yay, I was. After I went back home, and when I got home my Dad just kept going off about how gay people should get any rights." He cried. "Then I told him that there are humans too, and they should have rights… " Kurt cradled him more. "And he...he went off on me." Blaine sobbed into Kurt's sleeve.
"I'm so sorry," Kurt said, "Is-is that all you wanted to get off your chest?"
Blaine shook his head. Kurt put his hand under Blaine's chin and lifted it so he could see into his eyes.
"Oh my god, Blaine. What happened?" He looked at his boyfriend's cheek. It was swollen like a pumpkin, and it was blue and purple. "Did he hit you?" Blaine only cried harder. Kurt kissed him on the forehead. "Come on, let's go inside, you're staying at my place."
Kurt silently opened and closed the door, "Shh, we don't need Finn hearing us." Blaine understood. The tiptoed upstairs into Kurt's room. He went into his bathroom and grabbed a towel and soaked in cold water. "Here, let me see your cheek." He gently put the towel on Blaine's bruise, "Now, I'm returning the favor." That got Blaine to laugh. "I love your smile," Kurt placed a little peck on Blaine's lips, "Are you feeling better?"
"I am now," Blaine stated, "Hey, I'm really sorry to come here so out of the blue and unload all of this out on you."
"Blaine," Kurt sighed, "You're my boyfriend, I'm honored to. Blaine looked at Kurt and started to cry once more. "Blaine, what's wrong?" Kurt asked.
"What do I do about my dad?" He pleaded.
"I think we should file a police report."
"NO KURT! I can't do that, it will destroy his career."
"Blaine, he hit you. We should go to the police," Kurt stated.
"I won't do that to him, I hate him, don't get me wrong. But I can't go to the police," Blaine was desperate.
"Fine, but if he touches you again, I swear to god."
"Okay,"
"Blaine I'm serious, tell me. I don't want you keeping anything like this inside of you, please tell me."
"Really?"
"Of course, you can count on me." Kurt knew exactly what song he was going to sing at the glee club tomorrow. "Here, you can borrow some of my pajamas." Kurt went to grab some PJs for Blaine. As Blaine removed his shirt Kurt realized how toned Blaine's body was. He tried not to stare, but his boyfriend was just too perfect.
"You like what you see?" Blaine asked playfully.
"You seem in a better mood, and yes very much so," Kurt giggled.
"Then I won't wear a shirt to bed… only if you don't either," Blaine proposed.
"What happens if Finn barges into my room?"
Blaine shrugged, "Please." He walked up to Kurt and wrapped
his arms around Kurt's waist. Then looked at Kurt with big puppy dog eyes.
"Fine," Kurt sighed, "Damn, you and your puppy dog eyes. They are my weakness." Kurt took off his shirt, and giggled a little. Blaine took the porcelain boy's torso in, Kurt was beautiful. The boys crawled into bed, snuggled into one another. And soon they were both fast asleep.
"KURT!" There was a pound at his bedroom door, "KURT! School starts in 30-minutes. Are you up." Finn screamed through the door.
Kurt popped out of bed, "Yes, I'm up."
"Okay," Finn responded.
"Go to my bathroom, hide," He whispered to Blaine. He scurried off into the bathroom. He opened his door, "Good morning Finn."
"Hey, I was going to ask if you wanted a ride to school, but you are nowhere near ready," Finn remarked.
"Yay, I'm just going to get a ride from Mercedes."
"Okay then, imma head out."
"Bye now." Kurt shut his door, "You can come out now." Blaine peeked his head out.
"That could have been bad," Blaine said.
"Yay," Kurt looked at Blaine's bruise, "Your cheek looks like it stopped swelling, and I can help cover it up with makeup."
"Sure," Blaine moved closer to Kurt, "Good Morning, you beautiful thing." He placed a lovingly kiss on Kurt's lips. "I wish I could wake up like this every morning."
"Me too."
"Can I borrow some clothes, mine are all dirty," Blaine asked.
"Of course. I can give you a sweatshirt so it doesn't look like it came out of my closet."
"Thank you, so much."
"You don't need to thank me, but you could drive me to school."
"I would love to," Blaine said. The boys took a long time to get ready, and by the time they got to school they were late. Very late. But the day went on as usual. Classes weren't the most interesting, but glee club was next.
"Alrighty, does anyone want to sing a ballad for us?" Mr. Shue asked.
"Can I?" Kurt stood up.
"Of course Kurt, let's hear it."
"Okay. So I'm going to sing a song for all of you guys, because you are my family." Kurt looked directly at Blaine now, "And you guys mean everything to me, so you can count on me." Brad started to play the piano, and then the band came in behind Kurt.

As the rest of the group sat back and clapped for Kurt, Blaine looked at Kurt with watery eyes, touched by Kurts song. He looked straight at Kurt and softly whispered, "Thank you."
Chapter Nine"Hey Guys," Will said as he walked in the classrooms, "Let's start talking about the musical." Everyone started to jump for joy. "I was thinking this year we could do 'West Side Story'," Kurt liked that idea, there was no way he would get the lead though. "Auditions will be held on Monday."
Rachel stood up, "I advise no one else go for the part of Maria."
"Why can't we? What if I want to be Maria?" Mercedes questioned.
"Oh Mercedes, you don't have the talent to pull off a role like that."
"Oh, you did not just say that you nasty little bitch," Mercedes went off on her.
"Ladies, well see about that at the auditions," Mr. Shue said, "Now let's get back to work." Blaine couldn't care less about what was going on in the glee club today, so he pulled out his phone. Five seconds later Kurt received a message on his own phone.
From Blaine: Hey, my parents are gone this weekend. Do you wanna sleepover?
Kurt looked over at Blaine, and texted: Of course I would, but only if I get to see you shirtless again ;)
Blaine's cheeks started to turn red, From Blaine: Deal.
Kurt put his phone away and listened for the rest of the glee club. When they were released from school for the rest of the day, he walked over to Finn's car.
"Hey, can you tell my dad when he gets home that I'm spending the weekend at Mercedes's," Kurt asked?
"Sure, what are you doing there all weekend?" Finn question.
"Umm… we're going to practice for auditions."
"Okay, are you auditioning?"
"Yay, but for a smaller role. No way am I going to get Tony."
"What," Finn seemed shocked, "Why not?"
"I just think someone else should get the role."
"Well, I think that's ridiculous."
Once they got home, Kurt went and packed a bag for the weekend. He got a little of his homework done, and sooner than later Blaine pulled right up to the front of Kurt's house.
"Hey babe," Blaine gave Kurt a quick kiss, "You ready for the best weekend ever."
"You bet I am," Kurt said enthusiastically. Once they got to Blaine's house Kurt was shocked. It was huge, especially for a house in Lima. "Oh my god, Blaine," Kurt's mouth was agape, "Why didn't you tell me your house was so nice." They walked into the foyer, where there was a large staircase in the center.
"Well because my father earned all of it," Blaine explained, "He wanted to boast off his wealth to everyone here in Lima."
"Wow, you and your father are nothing alike." Kurt is still in shock.
"You wanna go up to my room?" Blaine asked.
Kurt nodded. Blaine grabbed Kurt's hand and led them through his house until they reached his bedroom. Blaine spun Kurt around and put his arms around Kurt's waist. Blaine pulled them closer together, and kissed him. This was a raw passionate kiss. Kurt sighed. Blaine had never been happier then he was right now.
"As per our deal," Blaine said as he pulled away from the kiss. He lifted his shirt and threw it aside, leaving his chest exposed.
Kurt giggled, "You're so dorky."
"Problem," Blaine teased, "So, I was thinking we could watch 'West Side Story',"
"I like that idea."
"Come here," he grabbed Kurt and plopped him down on his bed. He brought Kurt into his arms as he started the movie. "Are you going to audition for Tony?"
"No, I was thinking about Bernardo or Officer Krupke," Kurt explained.
Blaine looked surprised, "What no, you should be Tony."
"Nope, I'm not going to get the role."
"You don't know that."
"Yes, I do. My voice is too high and I'm to feminine," Kurt said, "And anyway I don't want the part because I know you're going to be a fantastic Tony."
"Kurt, please don't throw away the roll just cause you want me to have."
"Well, that's what I'm doing," Blaine was so touched by what Kurt said.
"You know… you really are the best boyfriend ever," Blaine said, making Kurt blush. They moved closer to kiss, but this time they didn't stop. Blaine leaned farther into the kiss, as he opened his mouth letting Kurt's tongue to enter. Their tongues danced together in perfect harmony. Kurt gently pulled Blaine down on the bed, where Blaine was now on top of Kurt. They both were really into each other's bodies as they were pressed close together. They were in sync, and they loved it. Blaine now was putting his hand underneath Kurt's shirt, feeling every muscle on Kurt's stomach. Kurt seemed to like that a lot because he was humming with delight.
"Blaine! Sweetie, we're home!" Blaine Jumped off of Kurt. "Blaine? Where are you?"
"Blaine who is that?" Kurt asked.
"Shit it's my mom," Blaine said looking stressed.
"Blaine, Your father, and I's plane got canceled. Where are you?" Her footsteps were getting closer.
"Blaine, what do we do?" Kurt whispered.
"Get in the closet," he motioned.
"Blaine, I don't think me playing straight is going to work."
"I will laugh at you later, get in the physical closet."
"Okay."
Seconds later, his bedroom door flew straight open. "Blaine, oh there you are." His mother kissed him on the cheek, "The plane got canceled, so your dad is downstairs trying to book another flight for himself."
"Okay, cool," Blaine said breathlessly.
"Why do you look so sweaty, and why's your shirt off?" Mrs. Anderson asked.
"Uhhh… I just went for a run," Blaine lied.
"You should put a shirt on when you do that, don't want any other girls getting ideas." She exited his room. Blaine rushed to lock his door.
Kurt peeked his head out, "Can I come out?"
Blaine nodded, his eyes were now starting to get puffy.
"Blaine, are you okay?"
"No," He whined.
Kurt pulled him into a cuddle on the bed, "Tell me what's wrong, please."
"I hate the person that I am. I hate how I can't be who I want to be at school. All I want to do is be open about who I truly am. I hate it myself Kurt, I feel like a freak," Blaine cried.
"Blaine, look at me," He did, "You are not a freak. You are a beautiful, beautiful person."
"Really?" Blaine asked.
"Yes. You just need to learn to love yourself. For you to love yourself, you need to do what you love and be yourself," Kurt explained, "And you can't be yourself here, you're not safe. But you can still do what you love, so Monday you are going to audition for the role of Tony because you love performing. And I'm going to cheer you on because I will always support you no matter what. Got it."
Blaine cried some more.
"Why are you still crying?" Kurt questioned.
"How can I not when you say things to me like that," Blaine smiled. Kurt squeezed Blaine. And they just sat like that for what was probably hours.
"Blaine, as much as I love staying here like this, we can't have your father find me," Kurt said.
"Your right," Blaine walked towards the window, "How good are you at landing on your feet?"
"What?" Kurt was shocked.
"I jump out of my window to sneak out. You have to jump a good four feet," Blaine explained.
"I think it'll be fine." Blaine opened the window, and Kurt crawled out.
"Wait," Blaine said. He kissed Kurt one more time, "Bye." Kurt hoped down and ran off into the distance.
When Kurt came into school on Monday, he was prepared to audition for the role of Krupky. But he really couldn't wait to see Blaine's audition. After the school day was over, the New Direction all made their way to the auditorium where the lights were set low for the auditions. Rachel was first and sang "I'll Feel Pretty". She did good, but she was just so annoying that no one could look past it. Then Mercedes came next and sang "I Will Always Love You" and the house went wild. She was easily going to get the part. Blaine walked up to the stage, he was next. He sang "Somewhere" and it was breathtaking, and Blaine knew that this is what he loved to do. Performing. He didn't want to become a lawyer as his father did, he wanted to perform on big stages with cheering crowds. You could see it in his eyes, but Kurt could see it in his soul.
And finally, it was Kurt's turn. As the piano started to play, Kurt made direct eye contact with Blaine.

Thank god the lights were out in the auditorium because Blaine was a reck. He had tears of joy spilling down his face, and a smile so big you it arched like the moon. Blaine didn't know it yet, but this was the moment he fell madly in love with Kurt Hummel.
Chapter Ten"Do you think I'll get the part?" Mercedes asked through the phone.
"Yes, we all do," Kurt answered.
"Really?"
"Yes, even Blaine said that he would rather have you as his Maria, Rachel," Kurt said. Blaine was standing right next to Kurt, and slapped him on the arm and glared at him.
"Did he really say that?" She was practically screaming through the phone.
"Uhhh… Yay."
"Wow, okay. Looks like white boy is turning a new leaf."
"Hey Mercedes, my Dad is calling me, can we talk tomorrow?" He lied.
"Sure thing Kurt, I can meet you tomorrow near where they'll post the roles."
"Cool beans," Kurt hung up. He turned to his boyfriend, "Do you wanna go up to the Lima Bean, you can wait for me until after my shift?"
"I'd love to," Blaine responded, putting a little peck on Kurt's face.
When Kurt got to the Lima Bean, he went straight behind the counter. Blaine sat at a table nearby getting his homework done, when he was abruptly interrupted by somebody.
"Hey, Hobbit you got a sec?" It was Sanatana.
Blaine sighed, "What would you like Sanatana?"
"I just wanna ask you a few questions," she sat down, "How are things between you and Rachel?"
"Fine, why do you ask?"
"Oh just cause she keeps complaining to all the cheerios on how you're pulling away from her."
"Okay," Blaine was getting suspicious.
"I was just wondering…" She paused and glanced over to Kurt, "Have you been seeing someone else on the side?"
Blaine nearly choked on his coffee, "No, god no. And please do not spread a rumor that I am."
"Are you sure?" Sanatana questioned again.
"Why do you ask?"
"Because I know about you and Lady Hummel."
Blaine's mouth was agape. He was shocked.
"Sanatana, whatever you're getting at here, just stop," Blaine warned.
"Blaine, I know that your gay," She stated, "I see the way you look at Kurt. And I see the way he looks at you." Blaine stayed silent. "So you're not denying it, huh," she said with a smirk on her face.
Blaine looked down, "Why are you doing this," He whispered angrily.
"Because I'm a bitch, and I wanted to know the truth."
"Please… just don't tell anyone," Blaine pleaded.
"I won't," she lowered the tone of her voice, "Don't worry, we play for the same team."
"Wait so you're…?" He asked.
"Yes," she looked around to make sure no one was looking at them, "I'm not ready to come out or anything, but yes, I am."
"Oh," Blaine was stunned.
"I won't tell if you don't."
"Sanatana, I would never do that to anyone," Blaine said, he put his hand on hers to comfort the girl. She was clearly scared.
"Really wow, you're a much better person then I'm," she forced a giggle.
Blaine looked directly at her, "Sanatana, you are a good person. You might be flawed, but so is everyone else."
She smiled, "Thank you, and don't worry I won't tell anybody."
"Thanks," he smiled back.
"So, are you happy… with Kurt?"
His eyes lit up, "Yay, I really am."
"Good, you deserve it," they just sat there still, awkwardly, "So… I'm gonna go now."
"Okay, bye Sanatana." He waved, but she was already gone. Shortly after Kurt came over.
"Hey, Is everything ok?" Kurt asked as he sat down to next Blaine, "I saw Sanatana was talking to you. What did she want?"
"Oh nothing," Blaine said, "she just wanted to know if we were dating."
"And what did you say?"
Blaine didn't answer.
"Blaine!" Kurt said sternly.
"She said she wouldn't tell anyone," He explained.
"Yes she will, It's Sanatana."
"No Kurt," he looked directly at him, "She is not going to tell anyone, I promise."
"Okay, I believe you," Kurt said. He hugged Blaine, "I have an hour more, do you mind waiting."
"Of course not, I was just going to finish my homework."
"Okay," Kurt walked back to his station for work.
The next day at school, Kurt met Mercedes at the wall where the callbacks were listed. Mercedes looked so happy, she practically ran to Kurt.
"Kurt, I got it. I'm going to be Maria," She squealed with delight, "Well only half the time, They double cast it for the role."
"Let me guess, Rachels also playing Maria."
"Yep."
"That doesn't matter though, Mercedes you got a lead role, congrats," He looked over to see that Blaine got Tony. He was happy for him. And he got Krupky. "Let's walk over to Glee." They walked over, arm in arm to the choir room where you could practically hear Rachel screaming from outside the room. They walked.
"Hey Mercedes, so just so you know, I will be performing on opening night, and then you can go on Tuesday and the Sunday Matinee," Rachel blurted out.
"Oh no," Mercedes put her finger up to Rachel's face, "We will get the same amount of performances."
"No, no, no. I was better than you in that audition, therefore I'm better."
"Untrue, everybody loved my performance much more than yours." Everyone nodded and agreed with her.
Rachel was shocked, "What no, I am going to be the reason people go to see the show, you know that right. Because you are nothing in this school, a piece of garbage. And I'm the queen bitch."
"Well you got one thing right," Rachel shoved Mercedes. And she shoved back. Seconds later, Mr. Shue pulled the girls apart.
"Sit down!" He yelled.
"No, not until I can get the shows I deserve," Rachel protested.
"You don't deserve those roles. You know everyone in this club is just as good as you or better, you just don't let them shine." Everyone seemed to agree with what Mercedes said. "Mr. Shue, why can't you tell her that no, or give her a smaller role. You know that people in this class are better than her, but you keep showering her with praise."
"Uhhh…" Will had nothing to say.
"The reason is that I'm better than everyone here because I am the top dog—."
"SHUT UP!" Blaine shouted, everyone was shocked, "Rachel be quiet, Mercedes was probably really happy with getting her first lead, and you bulldozed her the second she walked in the room about how you want all the glory shows. Just stop thinking about yourself for once." Everyone was stunned. It was silent. Blaine always supported Rachel's opinion, no matter what. But this was different, it was new. Blaine stood up for basically everyone else in the class, from his girlfriend.
Rachel looked pissed, "Blaine, what the fuck! You're supporting Mercedes. But I thought you loved me."
"I'm supporting her because she should be given a chance to shine. Just like the rest of the club," Blaine explained.
"Why?"
"Blaine, don't answer her," Mercedes cut him off, "Mr. Shue, you can give the role to Rachel, I don't want it anymore if this is going to happen every time we have to make a decision on who gets to be the bigger star." Mercedes grabbed her bag. "Oh, also I quit glee club," she looked directly at Rachel, "I hope you're happy now." Everyone stayed silent. Everyone's mouths were dropped, not believing what just happened.
Chapter ElevenIt had been a good few weeks since Mercedes had quit the glee club, and 'West Side Story' opened in less than a week. Blaine and Rachel were rehearsing 'Tonight', while Artie, Mrs. Pillsbury, and Coach Beiste watched. The couple's duet was good because Coach Beiste was getting emotional again. As they finished all the directors clapped for them.
"Bravo," cheered Emma.
"Good work, guys," Artie announced.
"Are you always going to cry like that?" Blaine asked, clearly pointing out Coach Beiste as she wiped her eyes.
"I'm such a girl."
"My only notes are more teeth," Mrs. Pillsbury explained. Blaine and Rachel took the note.
"Have either of you guys ever had sex?" Artie abruptly asked. Emma and Coach Beiste quickly stood up and ran out of the auditorium. "This song is about passion for one another and sexual awakening. Have either of you done it?"
They were both stunned by the turn of events. "Uhhh…." Blaine didn't know what to say.
"We haven't gotten there in our relationship yet," Rachel calmly stated.
Artie looked confused, "But you guys have been dating for over 3 years now." Rachel and Blaine looked at each other, "Look you guys, as your friend I don't care that you haven't done the deed yet, but as your director I'm concerned."
"I'm sorry, what do you mean?" Rachel asked.
"How are you going to display the human experience to an audience of people if you haven't experienced it yourself?" With that Artie left the stage. Rachel and Blaine just stood there in silence.
"Well you heard him, you wanna come over this tonight?" Rachel asked.
"What?"
"You heard him, Blaine, for us to give a good performance we have to sleep together," Rachel said.
"No," Blaine couldn't believe it. He knew Rachel wasn't the best person in the world, but he didn't think that she could be this shallow. "I am not losing my virginity so that I can perform better in a musical." Rachel was about to say something else. "I got to go." Blaine grabbed his bag and left as fast as he could. He had a plan to go over to Kurt's and have a Disney marathon.
When he reached Kurt's house, they went straight to watching 'Alddian'. But that didn't last long, cause soon Blaine was on top of Kurt kissing him down his neck.
"Blaine," Kurt said breathless, "Come here, cool off time." Blaine was reluctant but listened to Kurt after all. "How was rehearsal?"
"Can we please change the subject," Blaine scoffed.
"What happened?"
"It's… nothing," Blaine said. Kurt gave him a look, "Fine. Artie told Rachel and me that to give a good performance we should… have sex."
Kurt didn't say anything.
"Kurt?" Blaine asked, "Are you still here?"
"Yay, it just sounded like the director told you to sleep with Rachel to improve the musical," Kurt answered.
"No, that's what Artie said."
"What really," Kurt was squealing, "Why would he do that?"
Blaine shrugged his shoulders.
"What did you say?" Kurt questioned.
"I told Rachel 'no' of course."
"So Rachel… wants…"
"Yes," Blaine knew exactly what he was asking.
"So you're a… You've never had…" Kurt couldn't even finish his sentence.
"Yes, I've never had sex," Blaine finish the sentence for him.
"Oh."
Blaine giggled a little, "Kurt, you look surprised."
"Well you make out with the girl in the middle of school sometimes, I just thought you've gottten farther with her," Kurt said.
"Nope, I haven't," Blaine rolled his eyes, "She wants to though. Before I came here she asked if I wanted to come over tomorrow."
Kurt sat up frantically, "And what did you say?" He was irritated.
"I said 'NO'."
"Okay, good."
"Kurt, do you have a problem with Rachel?"
Kurt looked a little ticked off, "Well other than the fact that she wants to bone my boyfriend, No I don't have a problem with her."
"Kurt, I hope you know I would never sleep with her. I mean I'm gay for peat sakes."
Kurt giggled, "Really?"
"I only have eyes for one, and his name starts with 'K' and ends with 'urt'."
"You're so dorky sometimes, I hope you know that," Kurt went to kiss Blaine.
"Also, Rachel's not as hot as you are." Kurt was blushing.
"Wait… I have another question," Kurt looked at Blaine more seriously, "Just because Rachel doesn't have someone to sleep with… but… you do"
"Are you asking, what I think you're asking?"
"Yes, I mean we've done… things together," Kurt looked down, "But you wouldn't do that… just for the musical?"
"Never in a million years," Blaine said quickly, "Kurt, I hope you know I would never take advantage of you like that." Blaine looked directly at Kurt, "Never."
"Really?" Kurt asked softly.
"I would never pressure you, or ask you to do that," Blaine said.
Kurt smiled a little, "Oh, okay."
"Okay." They snuggled back down on Kurt's bed and held each other in their arms. Soon they both were fast asleep.
"KURT!" Kurt opened his eyes, "Kurt wake up!" It was his dad.
Kurt jumped out of Blaine's arms, startling Blaine. "Shit," he said under his breath, "Dad it's not what it looks like."
"Who's this?" Burt asked.
"Uhhh…"
"Kurt answered me." Blaine stood up.
"I'm Blaine, Blaine Anderson," Blaine said.
"Kurt," there was a sternness in his voice.
"Dad, Blaine's my boyfriend," Kurt said. He looked towards Blaine, he looked terrified.
Burt turned to Blaine, "Blaine, I hope you don't mind but can you please leave." Blaine nodded and grabbed his stuff.
He walked over to Kurt and hugged him, "I'll see you tomorrow, good luck." Kurt was confused, why did Blaine say 'good luck'.
"Kurt," He turned back to his dad, he nodded, "Why didn't you tell me you had a boyfriend?"
"Because…" Kurt did know if he should tell the truth, "Because we needed to keep our relationship a secret."
"Why?"
Kurt took a deep breath, "Because he isn't out at school yet, and Blaine's family isn't as accepting as mine."
"Oh," Burt looked at him, he sat on Kurt's bed, "Why didn't you just tell me?" Kurt sat next to him on the bed, "You know I wouldn't tell anyone."
"I know, It's just with Finn in the house, I didn't want him finding out. You know he can't keep a secret."
Burt laughed, "Yay, that's true."
"And also, Blaine's dating Finn's crush," Kurt admitted.
"Wait, he's dating someone else," Kurt nodded, "It's a girl?" He nodded again. "Why?"
"Blaine thinks that if he dates her, people will think he's straight. And it works."
"So no one else knows about you guys?" Burt questioned.
"Nope," Kurt shook his head. He didn't need to bother telling him about Sanatana.
"Well, if you wanna hang out with him just tell me. Don't lie. I won't tell Finn," Burt said, Kurt smiled, "I'm glad you found someone, Kurt."
Kurt walked up and hugged his dad, "Thanks, dad."
The next day at school, Kurt only needed to do one thing, talk to Blaine. He didn't see him all day. Kurt was getting worried, was Blaine avoiding him. He texted Blaine:
To Blaine: Hey, I miss you
To Kurt: I miss you too
To Blaine: Can we meet in the glee room today after school
To Kurt: Of course
When school ended Blaine walked into the choir room, Kurt was already there waiting for him. Blaine ran to Kurt and engulfed him in a big hug.
"Hey B," Kurt kissed him on the forehead. "I just wanted to tell you, my dad knows all about us."
"Okay," Blaine was hesitant about how he felt about this, "And what did he say?"
"He just said that he was happy that I found someone, and he wouldn't tell anyone." Blaine looked surprised.
"So… he's not mad?"
"Why would he be mad, Blaine?" Kurt asked.
"Well, you know about my father," Kurt nodded, "I just thought you know, that your dad was the same way."
"Oh… My dad accepts me," Kurt looked at Blaine. Blaine was jealous of the relationship Kurt had with his father, that's what he wanted.
"Oh… I was just so scared that he was going to hurt you or something," Blaine explained.
"Is that why you told me good luck?" Blaine nodded, "Oh… thanks." Kurt laughed a little.
"So your dad's okay with you being gay?"
"Yay,"
"Wow, I wish I had that," Blaine admitted.
He brought Blaine in a hug, "I know, I wish you and your dad had a better relationship as well." They stood there for a few minutes in each other's arms, just wanting more of each other without any pressure from the world. "Blaine… Hate to say this, but we should be getting to rehearsal. Tomorrow is your opening night.
"And yours," Blaine reminded Kurt.
"Ours."
When opening night came around, Blaine stole the show. Everyone from school came to see the show. They all cheered for him. Kurt even brought the house down with his impressions. Kurt hated watching the moments in the show where Rachel and Blaine were together. They were always so close and were kissing. It just made him mad. Kurt knew it was just acting tough. But, all in all, it was a great show. When Kurt was looking for Blaine after the show he couldn't find him. He looked in his dressing room, the hallways, Blaine was nowhere to be seen. That was until Kurt found him practicing a dance move on the stage.
"You were great out there tonight," Kurt said as he walked up onto the stage.
"Thanks. Your Officer Krupky brought the house down."
"Sorry, I can't help to pull focus," Kurt giggled.
Blaine stopped dancing, "Never apologize, You were amazing."
"What were you doing?" Kurt asked.
"Oh, I was just practicing this move I messed up tonight."
"Well that's the beauty of the stage, you get to do it all over tomorrow," Kurt stated, "You should be celebrating. Oh… um, Rachel was looking for you."
"Forget about Rachel!" Blaine shouted, "I'm sorry. Kurt, come here." Kurt walked towards Blaine, "Put your hand on your heart."
"Like the song?"
"Just like the song," Blaine repeated. "Rachel means nothing to me, I want you to know that." Kurt nodded, "And I was thinking… I think I am going to break up with her."
"Really?" Kurt was shocked, "If this is because of me, you don't have to."
"Kurt, I only want to be with you," Blaine wrapped his arms around Kurt and kissed him, "And I want to be out and proud about who I am, who I truly am. And I think that first step is breaking up with Rachel."
"Wow, Blaine," Kurt didn't know what to say, "I don't know what to say. But I want you to know, I will support you know matter what."
"Really?"
"Yes really. Blaine, you mean everything to me," Kurt kissed him, but this time with more passion. "You take my breath away," He breathed, "Not just now, but tonight on that stage. You were so happy, I always want you to be happy."
"Kurt, whenever I'm with you, I'm the happiest I could be," Blaine smiled. He touched his forehead against Kurt's, and then kissed once more. They were both happy and smiling, but neither of them noticed that Finn was standing in the aisle of the auditorium, as he watched everything.
Chapter Twelve"Hey, Finn. Can you go look for your brother?" Burt asked. The Hummel-Hudson family just went to the high school production of 'West Side Story'. They were waiting for Kurt, who had played Officer Kurpky.
"Sure," Finn answered. He left the group and started to look for his stepbrother. He wasn't in the male dressing rooms. So he went to find Mercedes, she was there supporting Kurt.
"Hey Mercedes, do you know where Kurt is?"
"I think I saw him go into the auditorium," she said.
"Okay, thanks." He started to walk back towards the auditorium. He opened the door, there was Kurt. Finn was just about to shout his name when he realized that he wasn't alone. He was with someone, and Finn was trying to make out who it was. IT WAS BLAINE! Finn didn't know what was happening between both of them, but they were very close together. Finn finally figured it out when Kurt leaned in and kissed Blaine. Finn was shocked. He just turned around and left the auditorium.
"Did you find him, buddy?" Burt asked.
Finn was still shell shocked, lied, and shook his head.
"Oh, there he is," Burt said as Kurt walked over, with a dopey grin, "Hey kiddo, good job tonight."
"Thanks, Dad," Kurt smiled, "Hey, I'm starving. Can we pick up some food from Breadsticks?"
"Sure thing."
Finn stayed silent for the rest of the night and glared at Kurt a lot. He had a million questions racing through his mind. Is Blaine cheating on Rachel? When did that happen between Kurt and Blaine? Is Blaine gay? How long have they been… kissing? Finn had only one way to get answers. He walked up straight to Kurt's room and opened the door.
"Kurt," He blurted out.
"Yes," Kurt was on his phone texting someone, giggling a lot.
"Who are you texting?"
"Mercedes," He lied.
"Let me see," Finn walked over to see. Kurt quickly turned his phone off.
"Why do you want to see what I'm texting?" Kurt asked.
Finn didn't have an answer, "Kurt, do you know why Blaine has been acting so weird?"
Kurt froze, "No… Why… how is he acting differently?"
"Well he is being nicer to people, and he wanted Mercedes to be his Maria, not his girlfriend. It just seems like something has changed with him."
"No, I haven't noticed. I don't spend a lot of time with Blaine," Kurt said.
"Huh?"
Kurt was getting suspicious, "Really." Did Finn know about Blaine and him?
"I didn't see Blaine after the show today, do you know where he was?" Finn kept questioning.
"No. He was probably making out with his girlfriend."
"When I was looking for you I saw Rachel with her dads, Blaine wasn't in sight."
Kurt didn't know what to do, "Oh… um."
"Thanks for some answers," Finn said as he walked out of Kurt's room. Kurt went directly on his phone and started to text Blaine.
The next morning Blaine was fucking stressed. He told himself that this would be the day that he would break up with Rachel. He also learned that Finn might know about him and Kurt. But he got up, put on clothes, gelled his hair back, and put on one of his best bow ties. When he got to school, he just wanted to stay in his car all day. But he had to face the music eventually. So he walked into school with his head down. He went straight to Rachel's locker, where he saw her.
"Hey babe," Rachel went to kiss him but he backed up, "Is something wrong with me? Do I have bad breath or too much lipstick on?"
"No you're fine," Blaine sighed.
"Okay, now give me a kiss please."
"No Rachel, I don't want to kiss you," Blaine said a little too loudly. People in the hallways were starting to notice.
"But I do," Rachel remarked.
"Not everything is about you," Blaine's voice got more serious.
"Blaine, what's wrong? Is everything okay?" She asked, looking nervous.
Blaine whispered, "I think we should break up."
"What? I didn't hear you."
"I said, I think we should break up," He repeated.
"WHAT!?" Rachel was already crying, "You… You want to break up with me, why?" Now everyone in the hallways was paying attention. "I love Blaine," Rachel pleaded.
"I don't love you the way you love me," Blaine said.
"Oh my god, why is this happening to me," Rachel had tears running down her face. She was sobbing. And all Blaine could do was walk away. He stormed into the locker room. He took off his shirt and grabbed boxing gloves. Then he just started to beat the crap out of the punching bag. With each punch, he let out a sob, and with each sob, he thought of one of his many problems. Rachel, his father, how he couldn't come out. Blaine didn't even realize he was crying. He stopped hitting the bag and slumped onto the wall. He was so weak and tired he could barely hear the door into the locker room swing open. It was Finn.
"Hey Blaine, how's it going?" Finn asked.
"What the fuck do you want?" Blaine fired straight back at him.
"Oh, well I just heard that you broke up with Rachel," Finn continued, "Why?"
"Because I didn't want to date her."
"Oh really?" Finn said.
"What is this really about?" Blaine asked.
Finn smirked, "Why don't you just come out of the closet already?" Blaine stayed silent. "That's right, I know about you and Kurt. It must really suck how you can't tell everyone how you feel about him."
"Swear to fucking god—." Blaine was screaming.
"Oh don't worry, I won't tell anyone," Finn stated, "I just want answers."
"Leave...," Blaine said, "Now!"
Finn put his hands up in defense and walked out of the locker. Blaine cried, he didn't know what to do. But he knew that only one thing would make him feel better, so he texted Kurt to meet him in five minutes.
Five minutes later Kurt walked into the choir room where he saw Blaine at the piano. He sat next to him and wrapped his arm around Blaine's shoulders. "Hey, is everything okay?"
Blaine just said, "I broke up with Rachel."
"Oh… are you okay?" Kurt looked concerned.
"Finn knows about us."
"I knew it. He was acting so weird the other day."
"I just feel so worried that he is going to tell someone else," Blaine admitted, "He said he wouldn't though." Blaine felt a lump at the back of his throat. "I just feel like the small little world we had is slowly disappearing."
"I get it," Kurt hugged him tighter.
"And I want to stay in our little bubble forever. But then there's this part of me that wants to tell the entire world that you're mine. And I want to tell everyone that no one can touch us. Or what we have." A single tear wept from Blaine's face. Kurt wiped it off with his thumb. "I have something I want to sing to you." Kurt got up and walked to sit in another chair, as Blaine started to play the beginning of the song.

Blaine was looking at Kurt with all of his heart, "Kurt I… I…."
"Blaine, stop. Look," Kurt stopped him as he pointed to Rachel. She stormed in.
"I heard that you were playing Blaine." She barged in, and also the rest of the glee club. Even Mercedes.
"What are you doing here?" Blaine asked, "What are all of you doing here?"
"I brought them here so they can witness me confronting you on why you broke up with me," she admitted. "But I didn't think that I would find you singing a love song."
"Rachel, shut up. Please," Kurt's tone of his voice was serious.
"Why are you here, I didn't invite you."
"I am literally in the glee club, this is the choir room. I can be in here without your permission," Kurt retorted.
"Did Blaine sing that song to you? No… that would be gross. Blaine's not gay." Blaine and Kurt looked at each other, not knowing what to do.
"So Blaine," Rachel continued, "Why were you singing that song, and why was Kurt in the room with you?"
"Um…" Blaine was terrified, "I—."
"Rachel! WOULD YOU JUST SHUT THE FUCK UP!" Finn shouted. "Blaine, you don't need to answer her." Finn turned back to Rachel, "Rachel, just stop interrogating him."
"Why not, I need to know why he broke up with me," she started yelling back.
"He broke up with you man-hands, because he never loved you," Santana spoke up, "He never did because you're unlovable." Everyone was shocked by the turn of events. "So leave him alone."
"I will personally invite you to leave now," Mercedes said. Blaine was surprised when she started to talk. Rachel didn't know what to do. Nobody ever stood up to her. She scoffed and stormed out of the room.
The room was silent, "Oh my gosh!" Kurt blurted out. Everyone laughed. "That was interesting."
"Yay, it was," Blaine said, "Hey, thank you guys for coming to my aid."
"Blaine, here in Glee club, we are family. If we ever see someone being hurt, we help them," Tina sat next to him and put her hand on his shoulder to confort him.
"Agreed, and you stood up for all of us before," Mercedes explained, "When you told Rachel that she should let the other shine just as bright as her. That meant a lot to us."
Quinn jumped in, "And you've changed. You stopped acting like Rachel's little annoying boy toy." Everyone laughed, even Blaine.
"Thank you all again," Blaine looked over to Kurt, and then back to the rest of the group, "Can we have a glee club meeting, in a few days. With everyone there, except Rachel. I need to tell you guys something."
Kurt started at Blaine. But before he could do anything, Blaine was grabbed by Santana as she dragged him out into the hallway. Kurt followed them. Santana looked at Blaine, "Are you going to…" he nodded. Kurt grabbed Blaine's hand, "Are you sure?"
"It's time. After realizing you guys are my family, I knew that you would be there to support me," Blaine admitted. Kurt hugged him tightly. "I'm going to tell them."
Chapter ThirteenIt was a few days later, and Blaine was going to tell everyone his big secret. He didn't know if he was going to pass out. He was sweating profusely, and it was only the second period. But he wanted to come out, and be his true self. During the rest of the day, Blaine completely blacked out, he could only focus on what laid ahead.
When the time came to go to the glee club, he wasn't the first one there. Kurt was standing in the room, waiting for Blaine to walk in. Kurt made eye contact with, and walked over and hugged him.
"Are you okay?" Kurt asked.
"I think so," Blaine sighed.
"Are you sure?" Kurt looked just as worried as Blaine was, "You don't have to do this today."
"Stop. I've made my decision, please don't talk me out of it," Blaine forced a laugh. "Kurt…" He paused getting choked up, "I'm just… just so scared."
Kurt comforted the crying boy, "Blaine, It's okay." Kurt rubbed little circles on Blaine's back, "Everyone in this room loves you, And they will support you no matter what."
"You really think so," Blaine whimpered.
"I know so. Look at me, they still like me."
"Yay, they do," Blaine said.
"You don't need to come out, Blaine, they don't need to know."
Blaine sat up straighter gaining more confidence, "No, I want them to know."
"Okay, do you want me to stand up here… when you tell them?" Kurt asked.
"No, I want to do this on my own," Blaine said. He grabbed Kurt's hand. A few moments later more people filed into the room. Santana walked up to him and hugged him.
"Good luck, you can do this," she said supporting him. As the rest of the club walked in, Finn gave him a pat on the back. They were all standing around him, not knowing why Blaine summoned them.
"Thank you all for coming," Blaine started, "Please sit." They all did. Kurt gave Blaine one more hug. "So… god… I don't know where to start," He murmured.
"Blaine, Is everything okay?" Mercedes asked.
"No," he looked out at them, "I haven't been honest with all of you. And I've hated myself for a long time because of it. I'm going to tell you guys something, and this needs to be a glee club thing for right now." The club nodded. "So you guys know that I broke up with Rachel. I didn't break up with her because she was a controlling, self-centered bitch," they all laughed, "I broke up with her because I wanted to stop hiding behind her. Being with her gave me this sense of safety that I wanted, but because I was safe, I wasn't who I wanted to be." Blaine looked down at the ground, "I also didn't love her the way I was supposed to. That's because I'm in love with someone else," He looked directly at Kurt. That was the first time Blaine had said 'I love you' aloud before. Blaine continued, "And this person has shown me that if I wanted to be truly happy I would have to show the world who I truly was. And I've known who that was for seven years, but I was scared to be myself in this environment. That was until I meant the person who was living his life to the fullest. He has never let me down in any way or forced me to do something I wanted to do. And I love him for that, I love him." Blaine started to get choked up a little.
"Wait… him?" Quinn asked.
Blaine nodded, "Him… I love him…." He paused, "I… I'm gay." The New Direction were all taking in the information, well those who already didn't know. "And I wanted to tell this boy something here… today." He looked over to Kurt again, this time some people noticed. They were quite confused. Blaine made his way over to the piano and sat down. Kurt didn't even know that Blaine was going to do this. As he started to play the piano tears were starting to fill his eyes.

When Blaine was done, he had streams of tears running down his face. Not because he was sad, but because he was so full of love and emotion. But he wasn't the only dry eye in the crowd. Kurt also had tears in his eyes. He jumped out of his chair and ran towards Blaine. Jumping into his arms, and kissing him with all the love he could concur up. The New Direction were shocked, they didn't know what was happening. When the boys pulled apart from each other Kurt looked into Blaine's eyes.
"I love you," He blurted out, "I love you, Blaine."
"I love you too."
Mercedes stood up, "Okay, What the hell is happening? Kurt, what's going on here?"
"Um… Blaine and I have been dating since the beginning of the school year."
"WHAT!? Why didn't you tell me?" Mercedes yelled.
"Because I was afraid to be who I truly am," Blaine answered her.
"Blaine, you didn't need to hide who you are. We all love you here." Tina said as she walked up and hugged him.
"Yay, but not everybody does."
"Well everyone in this room does, no matter what," said Puck. Everyone nodded.
"Really?" Blaine coked out.
"Of course." Quinn smiled. Kurt grabbed his hand and kissed.
"Thank you guys… so much," Tears of joy sprung from his face, as he felt a weight lift from his shoulders. One by one they all hugged him and showed him their support. But Kurt took him by surprise and kissed him in front of everyone, as the club all cheered. Blaine laughed a little, as he couldn't be happier than he was right now.
Chapter Fourteen"Hey, Blaine," He turned around only to see his beautiful boyfriend near him, "Do you wanna come over for dinner tonight, my dad's coming home late and Finn will probably just be in his room."
"I would love to," Blaine gave Kurt a quick peck on the cheek. "I'll drive over later after I'm down with my homework."
"Okay, I'll see you later," Kurt hugged him, "I love you."
Blaine had a goofy grin, "I love you too." He watched Kurt walk out of the choir room, and grabbed his stuff. But as he moved close to the door, he was stopped by Mercedes. She stood there with her arms crossed and she looked like she was ready to kill. "Hey Merced—," Blaine was cut off.
"Don't 'hey' me," She grunted, "Why was it just now that I learned about you and my boy Hummel?"
Blaine was scared of Mercedes, "Umm… We needed to keep our relationship a secret, you know from Rachel and… the rest of the club."
"Why is that?" She questioned.
"That is my personal business and no one else's," He fired back at the girl.
"Well, I'm here just to make sure that you aren't messing with Kurt," Blaine was about to speak but Mercedes stopped him again, "I swear to god, If you in any way harm Kurt, I will come after you." She finished. Blaine was terrified. He expected this to come from Kurt's dad, but not Mercedes. Mercedes was still glaring at Blaine, and she wasn't blinking, Blaine didn't think he saw her blink at all within this encounter.
"Mercedes, I love Kurt. I would never do that to him," Blaine finally stated.
"Okay then," Mercedes said, still staring at Blaine. But then she popped out of her trance and smiled at Blaine. "It was nice talking to you," Mercedes cheerfully walked out of the classroom. Blaine had to double-take what happened, after that he walked out of the classroom.
Once he got home, he started on his mass of homework. He heard the door open. "Hey, Blainey!" His mother cheered.
"Hey, Mom," he responded.
"What are you working on?"
"Ugh, math. It's so annoying," Blaine complained. His mother could only snicker at him. "Hey, can I go to my friend's house tonight for dinner?"
"Uh, sure. I don't see why you can't," She simply replied.
Blaine smiled, "Thanks. Where's dad, I haven't seen him all week?" Not that it's a bad thing, but Blaine's father was normally home one day of the week.
"He had some more work to do in D.C. He won't be home until Monday."
"Oh okay."
Blaine checked the time on his phone, it was 6-o'clock. "I'm gonna get going, don't want to be late."
"By honey, Love you," She hollered at her son.
"Love you too." He jumped in his car. And before he knew it, he pulled up to the Hummel-Hudson household. He knocked on the door, expecting his boyfriend to open the door. But no it was Finn.
"Oh… Hi Blaine," Finn said, "I assume you're here for Kurt." Blaine nodded. "KURT! BLAINE'S HERE!" Finn yelled throughout the house. "Come on in," He gestured.
"Thanks." Blaine stepped inside the house. He heard loud thumps coming from upstairs, then Kurt came running downstairs. "Hey, B" Kurt ran into Blaine's arms and kissed him.
Finn was standing there awkwardly, "Uhh… Okay, that's enough PDA for me." Blaine and Kurt stopped and looked at each other with flushed cheeks. "I'm going over to Quinn's tonight, so… see you, kids, later." Finn walked to the door, but he stopped and turned around, "I hope this goes without saying, but no sex little bro." Finn chuckled and left.
"I'm four months older than you!" Kurt hollered after Finn. Blaine giggled then turned back to his beautiful boyfriend. He wrapped his arms around Kurt's waist, pulling them closer together. "So-I-was think-we could-watch-The Little Mermaid," Kurt said in between kisses.
"I would love to." Blaine dragged him towards the couch where he pulled Kurt on top of him. "Come here." He wrapped his arms around the porcelain boy into a comforting hold.
Kurt sighed as he rested his head on Blaine's shoulder, "I could get used to this," He turned the Tv on, He was so happy and comfortable. "Isn't this nice, just us lying here. And if anyone was going to bulge through those doors no one would be surprised."
"Yay, those are the perks of coming out," Blaine said, "Or at least to half the people you know."
Kurt turned himself so he was facing Blaine, "I hope you know, But I am so proud of you. Blaine, you were so brave to come out to the club." He leaned in and kissed him.
"Well… I wanted to, and It meant that I could be more open with you around other people."
"Well… Not everyone," Kurt continued, "You didn't tell Mr. Shue, but I don't think he would really care. Are you going to tell Rachel?"
"Holy shit, I completely forgot about her," Blaine said, "She is already so pissed at me, what do you think will happen when she learns that I was cheating on her… with a guy." The last part came in a whisper.
"I really don't know…."
"I can't tell her… she would probably out me to the school. And I don't think I'm ready for that yet," Blaine admitted.
"That's okay, you don't have to tell the entire school." Kurt paused, "But I do think that you should tell Rachel."
Blaine was dumbfounded, "What?!"
"I think she should know, and it's not like she won't understand. She has two dads for crying out loud."
"I still don't know, I don't think It's a good idea," Blaine sighed.
"I'm not going to force you to tell her, It was just an idea."
"I know but what if she outs me."
"Come on, Rachel isn't that shallow—."
"You don't know her as I do. She is going to get mad or jealous, then she would probably tell my parents in some real dramatic way," Blaine rolled his eyes.
"It was just a suggestion, you don't have to do anything. It's your life," Kurt said.
"Thank you." Blaine leaned in and kissed him, "Since we're the only ones home." There was a mischievous glimmer in his eyes. Kurt practically pounced onto Blaine's lap. Their lips crashed together perfectly. Blaine cradled Kurt's chin in his hand, as Kurt ran his fingers through Blaine's hair.
"Hmm….I want access to your neck," Kurt groaned as he undid Blaine's bowtie. Blaine giggled. Just then, someone started to unlock the front door. Kurt jumped off of Blaine, to the other side of the couch, just as Burt walked through the door. He stopped and looked at the boys.
"I hope you know, you're not fooling anyone," Burt motioned, "Fonzie's hair and bow tie are messed up." He looked at Kurt, "I don't want to get started on you, Kurt." Blaine chuckled a little. He looked at his watch.
"Ah, I should be getting home." Kurt looked sad, "I'm sorry. I'll see you tomorrow at the glee club."
"See you tomorrow," Kurt gave him a quick peck on the cheek, "I love you."
"I love you more," Blaine bantered back.
"Impossible," Kurt giggled.
The next day at school, Blaine walked into the choir room. He saw that Rachel was already there, of course. She gave Blaine her best bitch glare, she had her arms crossed and chin held up high. But Blaine couldn't care less, because he saw Kurt in the back.
Blaine walked towards him. "Hey, can I sit here?" He whispered.
"Of course," Kurt replied. He was surprised that Blaine was actually going to sit next to him, with Rachel in the classroom. Obviously, Rachel took notice that Blaine sat near Kurt. The boys held each other's hands, but out of sight, of the rest of the club. But it's not like they didn't know what was happening.
"I would like to sing, Mr. Shue," Rachel stood up, with steam coming out of her ears.
"Of course Rachel, this is a glee club after all."
Rachel continued, "As most of you know, I have been recently dumped. Many of you might think that I am broken up about it, but I am here to prove you wrong." She looked directly at Blaine, and everyone took notice, "This is for you, Blaine."

Blaine looked down at his lap, not wanting to make eye contact with her. Kurt put his arm around Blaine and soothed him. Rachel didn't seem to care, so she stormed out of the room. Mr. Shue was clearly confused.
"Blaine, did you not tell Rachel?" Quinn asked.
"Tell her what?" Mr. Shue piped in. No one seemed to care.
"No I didn't, and she doesn't need to know," Blaine responded.
Will was now a bit more concerned, "What are you not telling her Blaine? What's going?"
"Does he not know as well?" Mercedes pointed to Mr. Shue.
"No, but honestly I don't care what he thinks," Blaine turned towards Will, "Mr. Shue, I'm gay."
"Huh, not what I expected. But honestly not surprised," He looked at all of them, "You guys steal each other's boyfriends and girlfriends like every week, and it's getting hard to keep up." The class all laughed.
"Okay," Blaine looked at all of them, "Guys, I don't need Rachel finding out. You saw what she just sang, it was ridiculous. I don't want to know what she will do if she found out the truth."
"It's okay Blaine, none of use will tell," Tina said. They all nodded.
"Hey, guys! On a more positive note, I'm throwing a New Year's party for us this year," Mercedes announced, everyone cheered. "Don't worry, I won't invite Rachel," she looked at Blaine.
"Good. It sounds fun."
Chapter FifteenKurt was getting ready for Mercedes's wonderful New Year's Party. He put on a pair of tight gold pants, with a black button-down shirt. And he topped it all off with a gold tie. After he perfectly did his hair, Kurt ran downstairs where he saw Finn watching tv. Finn clearly didn't care about his appearance, because he was wearing jeans and a sweatshirt. Kurt rolled his eyes at the sight.
"Hey. How are you getting to the party?" Finn asked.
"Blaine's taking me."
"Okay…" Finn paused, "Do you think he could take me too?"
Kurt put his hands on his hips, "You can't drive yourself?"
"I can drive, but I just think it would be more convenient if we took the same car."
"Oh my god, you're so annoying, Finn Hudson."
"I can talk to Coach Beiste and get you out of the gym for a week," Finn proposed.
"Two weeks."
"Ugh, really…." Kurt glared at Finn.
"I guess you don't want a ride then—."
"Fine, but Blaine is also picking up Quinn."
"Deal," Kurt said, "Blaine should be here abo—," there was a knock at the door, "Now." Kurt opened the door. There Blaine was. He was also in a gold and black ensemble, Kurt may or may not had something to do with it. "Hey babe," Kurt gave him a quick peck on the cheek.
"Hey, beautiful," Blaine smiled ear to ear, "You ready to go?"
"Yep. I hope you don't mind, but can you drive Finn over to the party? And maybe pick up Quinn?"
"Sure, I don't mind at all." Blaine grabbed Kurt's hand and walked towards his car. Blaine drove over to Quinn's house. When she hopped in the car, she was all dressed up with a bright dress and heels.
"Hey, guys. Thanks for picking me up," Quinn said.
"Oh, it was no probably. You look good tonight Quinn."
"Thanks."
"So you guys ready for New Year's with the New Direction!" Kurt squealed excitedly.
"Let's do this thing!" The car cheered. When they pulled up to Mercedes's house, it was clear that there were people already there. They ran up to the door.
"Mercedes said we could just walk in." Kurt opened the door to find that all the New Directions were already there. The music was blasting, and the ball drop was on the tv.
"Hey guys," Mercedes greeted them, "Come on in." The group did. "So we are going to stay up to the ball drops." Kurt threw his coat on the coat rack and went looking for Blaine. He didn't find him until Blaine walked towards him, with champagne glasses in his hands.
"Here you go," Blaine kissed Kurt's cheek. "I'm so glad this year is going to be over."
"Same. But this year hasn't been terrible either."
"What do you mean, Kurt?"
Kurt pulled Blaine closer to him, and looked straight at him, "This year I found love." Kurt kissed Blaine.
"You are right there," Blaine giggled a little.
"Yay, If you think about this year has been pretty good for Kurt Hummel."
"I love you," Blaine kissed Kurt deeper, "You're always so positive and you're the bright light in my life."
"I love you too." Kurt grabbed Blaine's hand, "Let's go dance." So the boys went over where the music was the most present and danced. They danced the night away. They didn't even realize that they had been dancing for so long until someone shouted that the ball was dropping.

"Happy New Year!" Party horns and poppers were going off. People were throwing streamers and balloons. But Blaine took Kurt's hand and wrapped it around his waist. Blaine slowly put his lips on Kurt's. They made it a beautiful and passionate kiss. They pulled apart, staring into each other's eyes.
"Happy New Year," Kurt softly whispered.
"Happy New Year, Kurt." Blaine engulfed Kurt in a big hug. But what everyone at the party failed to do was see Rachel and Jacob Ben Israel, standing outside with a camera in hand.
Chapter SixteenThe new year had been really good for Blaine so far. He didn't seem to be fighting with his dad as much, his grades were good, the glee club was doing well with their prep for sectionals. Everything was good. He saw Kurt every day after school, and nothing could go wrong. They were totally in love, and everyone in the choir room (that knew about them,) could see it.
They were all practicing for sectionals, when the bell rang, signaling that everyone's day was over.
"Hey, Blaine," Rachel called out, "Can I talk to you after class?"
Blaine looked at Kurt and whispered, "Do I have to?"
"Just go see what she wants, it can't hurt."
"Fine," Blaine rolled his eyes.
Rachel stood there with her hands on her hips, she waited for everyone to leave the choir room. As Kurt walked out he mouthed, "I'll wait outside."
"What would you like Rachel?" Blaine asked, clearly annoyed.
"How was your New Year's?"
"Fine, I guess."
"Did you go to any parties?" She questioned.
"I don't see how this is any of your business…" She cut him off.
"Because I got a tip from JBI that there was a Glee club's New Year's Party at Mercedes's house," Rachel paused, "Now that's not surprising. But what was surprising is that I wasn't invited."
"Rachel, no one likes you anymore. That's why you weren't invited."
"Yay, see I thought that there must be another reason why I wasn't invited," Rachel started at Blaine, who was now starting to sweat a little. "So I showed up at Mercedes's house."
"You didn't," Blaine growled.
"Oh yes, I did." Rachel pulled something out of her back pocket, "Oh what's this." She smirked. It was a photo of Kurt and Blaine, kissing. Blaine's heart stopped.
"Rachel… Why do you have that?" Blaine was fuming red.
"Because I want something from you."
"I will give you nothing…" Rachel cut Blaine off again.
"You either get back together with me or… I tell the school about your little secret." She whipped around, and smacked Blaine with her hair, and stormed out. Blaine just stood there, staring into the distance but not focusing on anything. He didn't even realize that he was crying until Kurt walked into the room.
"Hey," Kurt sighed.
Blaine rushed into Kurt and squeezed him.
"Oh, it's okay, shh… It's okay," Kurt rubbed little circles on Blaine's back. "What happened Blaine?"
"Um… she knows," Blaine whimpered some more, "She knows. And now she is blackmailing me and… I don't know what to do."
"Blackmailing you how?"
"She says… If I don't get back together with her then she'll tell the school about me," Blaine cried harder.
"Shhh, It will all be okay."
"Kurt," Blaine looked up at him with watery eyes, "What do I do?"
"Blaine, I don't know." Blaine's face fell, "I think this is your decision to make. Do you know what you want to do?" Kurt asked, but he didn't want to hear the answer.
"I...I...I want to be with you, out and proud and everything," Blaine said.
"Is there a 'but'?" Kurt asked quietly.
Blaine nodded slightly, "I just can't. I can't Kurt, what if the news gets to my family… I just can't."
"Then come out on your terms. Do it before she does."
"Kurt," Blaine looked longingly into his eyes, "I can't do that. I'm not there yet." Kurt nodded. He got up and started to walk away. "Stop. Where are you going."
"I need to leave," Kurt was trying to push back his tears, "Blaine, I know it's your life… But you shouldn't go back to her. You were just making real progress to being who you are, who you truly are. I just don't think this...," He gestured between Blaine and him, "Could work out if you got back together with Rachel." Kurt walked out, with tears streaming down his face.
"Kurt, wait!" Blaine cried for him. No reply. Blaine just looked off into the distance where Kurt used to stand. Blaine thought he knew what he should do. He pulled out his phone, and started to text Rachel:
To Rachel: I'm in. But if you tell anyone, I am out of the deal.
From Rachel: Okay. I'll see you tomorrow at school.
Blaine whimpered out. He hated this. He just wanted to go find Kurt. But instead, he walked to his car and drove to his house.
After Kurt walked out of the choir, he let all of his emotions drip from his face. He ran out to his car, in the cold wind of winter where he could feel the tears on his face begin to freeze. He just wanted to be with Blaine, but he couldn't help but feel that Blaine held his heart in the palm of his hand. And Blaine was either going to smash it or claim it as his own. When Kurt got home he went straight to his room and cried into his pillow. He cried, and cried, and cried until he had fallen asleep.
When Blaine got home, he also went straight to his room. He had probably just made the worst decision of his life, and he was already regretting it. Blaine was in so much pain, his heart ached. He knew that he deeply hurt Kurt's heart, and Kurt didn't even know yet. But he didn't know what was going to happen if the school found out that he was gay. What was he going to do if his father found out he was gay. He couldn't live that way.
When Kurt woke up, his heart was still heavy. But he started to realize that he regretted what he said to Blaine. He should have been more supportive of his boyfriend, and he really wanted to talk to him. He wanted to apologize. So Kurt got up and did his moisturizing routine, did his hair perfectly, and put on one of his favorite outfits. When he finally pulled into the school, he searched for Blaine. He went to his locker, and Blaine wasn't there. He started to ask around to see if anyone had seen Blaine. Kurt was just about to give up hope, he saw the short, gelled headed, bow tie-wearing Blaine. He started to walk towards Blaine with a big smile on his face until he saw who was standing next to him. It was Rachel. Rachel was walking down the hallway of the school with her hand in Blaine's, smiling happily. Kurt couldn't believe it. Blaine stopped walking as he had made eye contact with Kurt. And Kurt looked into Blaine's eyes. Kurt just stood there watching Blaine and Rachel, as he was trying to keep his tears at bay. Rachel took notice that Blaine was looking longingly at Kurt, so she took Blaine and pushed him against a wall. She started to kiss him senseless. Blaine hated this. He wanted to crawl in a hole and die. There was no worse feeling.
Once Rachel decided that she was done with Blaine, she glanced over and smirked at Kurt. Who now had tears streaming down his face. He just wanted to run. Run right out of this school, run far away. So he did.
Blaine noticed, but all he could was walk away. Even though he wanted to run after Kurt, and hold him, and tell him that he loved him. But again, he walked away. Blaine walked into the choir room, holding Rachel's hand. He got a few weird stares from the kids in the class. Blaine just looked down at the floor.
"All right guys," Mr. Shue started, "We got a month till sectionals. So I want us to start deciding who will sing our solos this year."
Rachel immediately stood up, "Blaine and I will sing our regular ballad."
Will motioned her to sit down, which he rarely did. He looked across the room. "Blaine," he looked up a little, "Where is Kurt?"
Blaine almost started tearing up just at hearing Kurt's, he just shrugged.
"What the hell is going on here?" Santana bursted out.
"What do you mean?" Rachel said as she crossed her arms.
"I mean why is hobbit sitting with man-hands? Where the hell is Kurt? WHAT IS GOING ON?" She shouted.
Blaine stayed silent.
"Blaine?"
Silence.
Santana put her hand on his shoulder, "Blaine, what's going on?"
Blaine furiously stood up, "I'M A FUCKING IDIOT! THAT'S WHAT'S GOING ON!" Everyone went silent, still not understanding what was happening between Blaine and Rachel. Blaine turned to Rachel, "Rachel, I'm not doing this anymore."
"What do you mean?" Rachel questioned.
"I'M FUCKING DO WITH YOU!" He shouted, "I am done hiding."
"Oh, really. But if you don't stay with me, I'll tell everyone your little secret."
"Good. Tell them, I don't care anymore." Blaine's voice was serious, "I can't stand you, and your self centered ass. Leave." He pointed to the door. Rachel stood up and looked Blaine straight in the eyes. She slapped him, and the room went nuts. Santana grabbed Rachel's hair and went all Liam Heights on her. Blaine and everyone else was either trying to separate everyone or get in on the fight,
"ENOUGH!" Will yelled. You could hear a pin drop in the room. Everyone sat back down, expecting to get yelled at by Mr. Shue. Except for Rachel, who just stormed out of the room. "Okay, calm down," He turned towards Blaine, "What was that all about?"
"Rachel found out about me being gay, and she blackmailed me." Blaine sighed.
"Okay. Next question, where is Kurt?"
"I don't know but I need to find him." Blaine grabbed his bag and walked out of the room as well.
Chapter SeventeenBlaine sprinted to his car after he left the choir room. He practically jumped in and didn't even put on his seat belt. As the car sped down the street towards the Hummel-Hudson house, all Blaine could do was cry. He wanted life to go back to the way it was. Before all of the Rachel Berry blackmail. When Blaine got to the house, he pounded on the door.
"KURT!"
Silence.
"KURT, IT'S ME!"
Still silence.
"KURT, I FUCKED UP! CAN WE PLEASE TALK?"
There was still silence, but this time he heard the door unlock with a click. He slammed the door open. There he saw, Kurt. With wrinkled clothing, matted down hair, and puffy red eyes.
"Kurt, I am so sorry," Blaine whispered. He moved towards Kurt to hug him, but he backed up from Blaine. Only making Blaine feel worse. "I told Rachel to fuck off." Kurt looked up at him. "I said that I didn't want to be with her. I told her to stay away from me." He reached out for Kurt's hands, "I only want to be with you. I love you, Kurt."
"But Blaine," Kurt sniffed, "What about her, you're not dating her son she is going to out you."
"That doesn't matter anymore. I just want to be with you." He leaned to kiss Kurt, but he backed up once again. "What? What's wrong?"
"WHAT'S WRONG!" Kurt yelled, "You chose Rachel, instead of me." Kurt pulled his hands from Blaine's. "I thought that you would rather be with me, than that bitch," he shirked.
"I'm so sorry."
"Well sometimes sorry doesn't count."
"But Kurt, I love you," Blaine whimpered, "Do… do you still love… me?"
Kurt sighed, he was still so angry, "Of course I do. That's why this is so hard for me to do."
"Do what?" Blaine didn't want to hear the answer, and Kurt didn't even want to say it.
"I just think I need some time from us," Kurt let a tear fall from his face, "I need to think about things. I want to put us on hold."
"For how long?" Blaine cried.
"I don't know." Kurt could see it in Blaine's eyes. Hurt, loss, pain. It only made him want to cry as well.
"No, please…"
"Blaine, stop," Kurt pleaded.
"Don't do this to us, Kurt."
"You have no idea how hard this is for me!"
"Then don't do it, Kurt."
"But still, Blaine. It just seemed that you were giving up on us. You weren't fighting to keep us together."
"I… I am so sorry."
"I just need a minute to think. Please just give me a minute."
Blaine nodded. He tried to hug Kurt again, but he knew he would only push away. He started to walk towards the door, "Kurt, could you please just come into school tomorrow, the club was worried about you."
Kurt nodded, as he watched his love who had deeply hurt him walk out of the house. Blaine got back into his car, but he didn't drive away. He just cried in his car. He didn't want to go back to school or his house. He wanted to be with Kurt, he loved Kurt so much. He needed to show how much he loved Kurt, and how he wasn't going to give up on him.
The next morning, Kurt didn't know if he should go to school. He was perfectly fine staying at his house. And it's not like he was falling behind any of his classes. But all in all, he wanted to go to see his friends. Kurt slowly got ready for school that day. When he drove to school he realized that he was almost an hour late, and had missed AP French. But he honestly didn't care. When he finally stumbled into the choir room he noticed that Blaine was sitting on a stool, at the front of the class. And Rachel was sitting at the front like usual, with her arms crossed and best bitch glare. Kurt made his way to the back of the class in a corner of the room, where he looked down to the ground not making eye contact with anyone.
Blaine walked up to Mr. Shue, "Can I have the floor please," He whispered. Will nodded. He walked back to the front of the class. "I want to sing a song for someone in this class today." Rachel looked happy because for some reason she thought the song was for her. "And I want him to know that… I won't give up on things that I love." Kurt looked up a little. Blaine grabbed his acoustic guitar and started to strum a simple melody.

Blaine finished the song. He looked towards Kurt, who was clearly emotional. They locked eyes. Kurt stood up, and embraced Blaine in his arms. "I love you, Kurt. So much it hurts. And I want you to know that I will always choose you, from here on out. Because nothing is as important to me, like you," Blaine said lovingly. Kurt pressed a sweet kiss into Blaine's lips. The boys were in their own little world, where nothing could go wrong. But then they forgot that they were standing in front of a class.
Rachel cleared her throat. The club all stared at her.
"What do you need Rachel?" Blaine was annoyed.
"So your decision is final?"
"What decision?"
She put her hands on her hips, "You would rather be with Kurt, than the most popular girl in school and not ruin your reputation."
"Yes. Popularity in this school means nothing to me anymore. And I want to be with the one I love," Blaine grabbed Kurt's hand.
"Then get ready, because a storm is coming your way," with one final glance around the room, Rachel left.
Chapter EighteenBlaine walked into his house, hand in hand with Kurt. They were both smiling like idiots. But Blaine was still terrified for what laid ahead for him. He was quite silent, and Kurt started to take notice.
"Okay, you've been silent the whole way home. Is everything okay?" Kurt asked.
Blaine looked down, "Kind of. Things could be worse." Blaine pulled Kurt close to him, in a tight embrace. "I'm really happy that we worked things out." He kissed Kurt's soft lips.
"Me too, but what's wrong?"
"I'm just a little scared. What is Rachel going to do?" He pondered.
"The worst thing she could do is out you, and I don't think Rachel Is that cruel. I think that she is just going to embarrass you at school," Kurt reassured.
"Really?"
"Yes. Nobody is that cruel, especially anyone in the Glee club. I think that your secret is safe," Kurt sighed. Blaine could see that Kurt wasn't as happy as could be.
"Okay, good. Now let me ask you a question, are you okay? With everything?"
"I am if you're okay…. I just don't want you to hide yourself anymore," Blaine tried to speak but Kurt stopped him, "I know you came out to the glee club, but I think you should consider coming out to the rest of the school."
Blaine huffed, "I just want my family to find out. What if an idiot from school would tell my father."
"Then he doesn't need to know."
"I still don't know. If I do come out, I want it to be on my terms."
"That makes complete sense Blaine, and I won't force you to do anything you don't want to. I just want you to know that I love you no matter what, and I'm here for you."
"God," Blaine giggled, "How did I get so lucky."
"Oh, I'm the lucky one," Kurt embraced Blaine, "Do you want me to stay over tonight?"
"I do, but what happens if my dad walks in."
"It's okay, I get. I'll see you tomorrow." Kurt kissed Blaine's cheek and walked out to his car. The next morning, Blaine woke up more positive than usual. He skipped out of bed, with a dopey grin on his face. He waltzed downstairs to start to make himself breakfast. He saw his mother was already downstairs making coffee. Blaine poured himself a cup and kissed his mother on the cheek.
"You seem to be in a good mood this morning," She remarked.
"Yes, I am." Blaine smiled.
"What's going on?"
"Oh nothing, we just get to pick are songs for sectionals today," Blaine lied, but he honestly couldn't care less.
"Okay then," Mrs. Anderson said. She knew her son too well to know that he was lying about something. But she wasn't going to push him to say anything.
Blaine checked his watch, "Oh shit, I gotta go pick up my friend for school." He grabbed his bag and shuffled towards the door, "Love ya, mom."
"I love you, dear. No swearing in my house!" She yelled after him.
Blaine sped towards the Hummel-Hudson household, like a bat out of hell. But he still stopped at every stop sign and obeyed all traffic laws. Kurt jumped into the car and rode off to school together.
Once they reached the school, they met up with Mercedes and Santana. The girls had got close since they could both bond over something, hating Rachel Berry. They were walking down the hallways to get stuff from everyone's locker before they headed to the glee club that morning. Once they stopped at Blaine's locker they noticed that there was a note taped to it. It read: Good morning Blaine. I hope you don't mind me sharing a photo of you at the school. XOXO Rach.
"Oh hell to the no!" Mercedes proclaimed. But Blaine didn't realize she said anything. He just stood looking at the letter in his hands. His face went white, and he felt his heart rate speed up. Kurt placed his hand on Blaine's shoulder, Blaine still didn't respond. People in the hallway started to walk by, all glaring at Blaine. And whispering. And giving hatred looks. It had felt like the world had stopped. Blaine didn't know what to do, but he did know one thing. That he couldn't just stand there, so he ran. He bolted into the choir room. Not noticing the people he bumped into, or the three other members of the New Directions chasing after him.
"WHERE THE FUCK IS SHE!" Blaine yelled. It took everyone by storm.
Kurt was out of breath, "Blaine, try to call down. Just breathe."
"NO!" Blaine looked at Mr. Shue, "WHERE IS THAT BITCH!"
"Where is who?"
"Rachel!"
"Why do you need her?" Will asked calmly, still not understanding the reason behind Blaine's anger. Blaine handed Mr. Shue the note from his locker. "Oh… Rachel did this?" Blaine nodded. "I'm so sorry… Um, that brings me to my next point of order, Rachel quit Glee Club." Everyone was shocked, except for Blaine, he couldn't care less about her. "She said that she didn't want to see her ex-boyfriend and the person who stole him from her."
"I'M GOING TO KILL HER!" Blaine's fists were quenched tight.
"No, No, No…" Santana said to him, "I don't want your beautiful hands to get all bloody, she's not worth it. That's why I'll do it." She stormed towards the door. But Mr. Shue stopped her.
"Guys, as much as I agree with you, Rachel should have never done this. But violence is not the answer," Mr. Shue said in a calming voice.
"Did what? A few of us are still a bit confused," Quinn piped up.
Blaine looked at his feet, "Um… Rachel outed me to the entire school."
The class all gasped.
"I didn't think she would do that, and anyone could be so… so… Awful!"
"Blaine, we all hate that you're going through this, is there anything I can do to help?" Will asked.
"Unless you can go back in time, and prevent this from all happening," He said sarcastically, "Then no."
Santana walked up to Blaine and hugged him tightly. She whispered in his ear, "Blaine, do you want me to tell the school about me? About how I'm gay too? It might take some of the pressure off of you."
Blaine was shocked, "No, Santana. You don't need to do that."
"Do what?" Mercedes asked.
"Come out, so that Blaine doesn't have to do it alone," Santana answered before Blaine could stop her. Everyone was stunned.
"Wait, WHAT!?" Kurt exclaimed.
"I'm gay, too."
"Wow, glee club got gayer," Kurt snickered.
Blaine turned back to Santana, "Santana, you didn't need to do that," Blaine sighed.
"I know, but I wanted to. And hey, it will give people something to talk about," She hugged Blaine again.
"Thank you," he whispered in her ear. She shrugged.
"On a bit of better news," Mercedes stepped forward, "Since Rachel is now gone, Mr. Shue, I was wondering if I can rejoin the New Directions?"
"Of course Mercedes," Will smile.
"And Santana," Mercedes turned towards her, "I'm here for you, and I accept you for who you are." Santana sniffled a little. Mercedes brought Santana into a hug.
"Santana, we all accept you," This time it was Puck who spoke up. Everyone nodded in agreement.
"Thanks, guys."
By the middle of the day, the news had spread that some of the most popular kids in school were gay. And people stared at them. Or walked away from them in the hallway. Most people didn't believe it, some just thought of them as rumors. Some of the kids on the hockey team slushed both Blaine and Santana, which just made both of them pissed. But nothing was worse when Karofsky came up to Blaine at the end of the day.
Karofsky strutted up to Blaine and shoved his shoulders into the metal lockers behind him. Blaine could tell it would leave a bruise. Karofsky then walked away.
"Hey! What the fuck was that about!" Blaine ran after him. But he was no match for the six-foot football player, He grabbed hold of Blaine's shirt and held him back against the lockers.
"Other than the fact that you're a faggot now," Karofsky spat.
Blaine squirmed, "Get away from me."
"Now why should I do that." He was just about to hit Blaine when Kurt came running towards Karofsky at full throttle. He shoved the lineman away from Blaine, as he fell to the floor.
"Stay away from him, you asshole," Kurt said out of breath.
"Oh, I see now," Karofsky sneered at Blaine, "You had your little fuck buddy come and help you."
Blaine snapped and threw a punch at Dave's head, "Don't you dare talk about Kurt that way!" Blaine stood up a little only to find Karofsky throw a punch on his eye. After that, both boys were going at each other. Kurt was there trying to split them up, but nothing seemed to work. It was only when Puck, Finn, Santana, Mercedes, Quinn, Sam, Mike, Artie, and the rest of the Glee club came when the fighting really started. Finn was shoving Karofsky, Puck was actually trying to Blaine out of the fight, Santana pulled on the back of Karofsky's letterman jacket, and sweet Brittany was trying to stop the fight.
"HEY! KNOCK THIS OFF!" Coach Beiste and Will came sprinting down the halls. The fight came to an abrupt halt, as the teacher came closer. Blaine backed up with only a bruised eye and bloody nose. But Dave had a dislocated shoulder, a handprint on his cheek, a black eye, and a limp. So it seemed that Blaine won. "EVERYONE LEAVE NOW! BEFORE I GET THE PRINCIPAL!" Mr. Shue yelled, "Glee club, meet me in the choir room. We need to have a serious discussion."
They walked to the choir room and it was very quiet. Everyone looked at the floor or tried to tend to their wounds. They all sat down, waiting for someone to break the silence. Will plopped down a couple of first aid kits on the piano. "Take what you need to clean yourselves up," Mr. Shue gestured. The group slowly made their way to the, Kurt grabbed a wipe, gaseous, and bandage. Blaine had only grabbed an ice pack for his eye.
"Here let me help," Kurt said quietly. He pulled Blaine close to him and started to clean the blood up from under his nose.
"Thanks," Blaine looked into Kurt's blue eyes, "Did you get hurt?"
"I got shoved a little on my shoulder, nothing I'm not used to." Blaine took the ice pack from his eye and put it on Kurt's shoulder. Kurt placed a loving kiss on Blaine's cheek.
"Does anybody care to explain?" Mr. Shue was clearly still angry. The couple stayed quiet. "SOMEBODY ANSWER ME NOW!"
Blaine stood up, "It was me."
"What?"
"Karofsky was being a dick, and I lost my control. I might have been the one to throw the first punch."
"Blaine, what did he say to get you so riled up?" Will questioned.
Blaine was trying now to hold back tears, "He um… um called me a… faggot." He whispered so that nobody could hear him, but everybody knew exactly what he said. "He also said some other things that weren't great." Kurt stood up and grabbed Blaine's hand.
"I'm so sorry," He whispered in Blaine's ear.
Mr. Shue sighed, "Blaine, is there anything I can do to help? Talk to the principal, and maybe file a complaint with the school."
Blaine nodded, "Maybe, but I don't see how that would help."
"Well, first we would need to get your family—."
"NO!" Blaine cut him off, "Please, no. Don't get my dad involved."
"But, Blaine," Will pleaded.
"Thank you for your concern Mr. Shue, but I'm fine. Today was just a fluke."
"Fine, I'm trusting," He turned to the rest of his class, "I'm trusting all of you that nothing like that'll ever happen again." The class nodded. "Fine, you guys can all go now." They all stood up and went to their next class. Only hoping that the rest of the day would be easier.
Chapter NineteenThe next couple of days for Blaine were different, to say the least. It's not that they weren't bad, but they were hectic. Blaine was still getting slushied more than normal, But Kurt was always there to clean him up. The name-calling had stopped, so did some of the locker chucks done by the jocks. But what he liked the most about these past few days was being able to be seen with Kurt.
They would now walk each other to and from classes. Normally hand in hand. They would get stares sometimes, but the boys didn't seem to care. It's not like they ever showed any PDA, like a lot of the straight couples did. But they were happy in their little world.
In Glee Club, they had finally decided what their setlist would be for sectionals. And since Rachel was gone, other people were getting solos. Kurt couldn't be happier, because not only was he going to have a solo but Mercedes was back in the glee club. He had really missed her these past few months.
"Alright guys," Mr. Shue said out of breath, "Good job today guys." They were all learning one of the dances for sectionals, and Mr. Shue was pulling out all the stops. "I will see you guys all tomorrow." They all waved goodbye to everyone.
"Hey, Kurt," Blaine walked towards his beautiful boyfriend. Kurt smiled when he heard Blaine say his name. "Do you wanna come over later tonight, maybe even sleepover?"
"I would love to. But what about you dad?" Kurt asked. He was just as terrified of Mr. Anderson as Blaine was.
"He won't be home until Monday afternoon."
Kurt grinned, "So, I'll see you later tonight." Blaine nodded. Kurt gave him a quick peck on his cheek and left the auditorium. Blaine couldn't believe how lucky he was. He had the best boyfriend ever. Kurt was beautiful, smart, caring, generous. Blaine could go on and on.
When he got home, he felt like he was walking on air. Nothing could stop him now. "Hey, boy. What are you so happy about?" His father chanted out to him.
"D-Dad, what are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to be in D.C?"
"Yes. But, I got off early, so I took the next flight here." He explained, "Blaine, your mother suggested that you and I could have some… you know… father-son bonding time."
Blaine was a little confused. His father never really wanted to do things with him. "Sure, okay. Just let me get changed out of these sweaty clothes." He ran up the stairs to his bedroom. He immediately pulled out his phone and started texting Kurt.
To Kurt: Hey, my dad came home early. Can we reschedule?
From Kurt: Sure. No problem. I love you 3
To Kurt: Love you too
He felt bad for not spending time with Kurt, but he knew that his dad would get suspicious. He walked downstairs to go meet up with his father. "Hey kid, I was thinking that we could go get dinner. You like that place Breadstix right?"
"Yep,"
"Okay cool. Let's go." His father patted Blaine on the back and hopped into the car. Once they reached the mediocre restaurant, they ordered their food. They were talking about sports and Blaine's grades. Nothing too interesting.
"Oh, Blaine. I forgot to ask, how is that Berry girl you're dating?"
Blaine gulped, "Oh… it's um… good."
"Okay, she isn't too much of a distraction, is she?" His father continued to question.
"No, no. She is very considerate and gives me my space when I need it to work on school… and stuff."
His dad patted him on his shoulder, "Good." He sighed, "Blaine I hope you know this, but I'm proud of you."
"Really?"
"Yes really. You're the best son I could ever ask for. But don't tell Cooper I said that." Blaine giggled a little.
"Thanks, dad." The rest of the night seemed to be going very well. Blaine and his dad were bonding, and it was really nice. For once Blaine was completely happy. He and Kurt were amazing. He had a mom who loved him dearly. And for once in his life, he and his dad were content with each other. Blaine couldn't ask for anything better. He could wait to tell Kurt.
To Kurt: You can't believe what just happened.
From Kurt: OMG, tell me.
To Kurt: My dad and I had a good time at dinner. He didn't criticize me or anything.
From Kurt: Oh babe, that's amazing.
To Kurt: Yay, it really is.
To Kurt: Hey, do you wanna come over tomorrow night. My dad said he was going to meet up with some old high school friends for dinner.
From Kurt: I would love to.
To Kurt: I can come and pick you up tomorrow.
The next day, Blaine drove over to Kurt's house to pick him up. "Hey," He kissed Kurt.
"Hey, babe. Anything special planned for tonight?' Kurt asked.
"Well, I planned to order Chinese food, and binge watches a ton of Disney movies. How does that sound?"
"Lovely." The boys drove home, belting out songs that they heard on the radio that they knew. Once they pulled up to Blaine's house, Blaine noticed that there was a new car parked on the driveway. The car looked formulary, but he didn't know who it was. He walked into his house, hand in hand with Kurt. But that's when he saw his parents talking to someone in the kitchen.
Rachel Berry.
Chapter Twenty"Blaine?" Mr. Anderson said sternly, "Who is that?" He gestured towards Kurt. Blaine quickly dropped Kurt's hand.
"Uh… What's Rachel doing here?"
"Answer my question boy," He clearly was getting mad.
Blaine didn't know what to say, "Um… uh… uh friend."
"Sure." Mr. Anderson knew that was a lie. He turned to Rachel, "Thank you Rachel for that… piece of information. If you would see your way out of the house now." Rachel smirked as she passed by. He turned to Kurt, "I would advise you to leave as well."
Kurt didn't move, "I think I'm going to stay here."
"Fine. You've had your warning." He stepped towards Blaine. "Tell me what Rachel said isn't true."
"What?" Blaine whispered, even though he knew what his dad was talking about.
"TELL ME SHE IS WRONG!" He raised his voice, "TELL ME RIGHT KNOW THAT YOU AREN'T SOME FILTHY CREATURE!" Blaine looked down at the ground, not answering his father. Mr. Anderson huffed, his breathing was loud and powerful. He took his hand and brought it amongst Blaine's cheek. "ANSWER ME!" His mother came running into the kitchen where she found her son with a large imprint on his face. She sat back and watched from afar. Another smack on to Blaine's head, the one worse than the first. "ANSWER ME YOU PIECE OF SHIT! IS IT TRUE?!"
"Yes," Blaine piped. Tears were streaming down his face.
"WHAT?!"
"Yes. I'm gay." With one fell swoop, Mr. Anderson shoved Blaine into the kitchen wall. Now Kurt was stepping, he shoved himself in front of Blaine. Trying to pull him out of this mess.
"DON'T LAY ANOTHER FINGER ON HIM!" Kurt yelled.
"WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU! ARE YOU ANOTHER FAIRY LIKE MY SON!"
"DON'T YOU DARE SAY THAT ABOUT HIM! OR ME FOR THAT MATTER!" Blaine screamed back.
"WHY NOT? HUH! THAT'S WHAT YOU ARE. YOU CHOSE THIS LIFE. KNOW YOU LIVE WITH THE CONSEQUENCES!"
"I DIDN'T CHOOSE THIS LIFE. I WAS BORN THIS WAY! YOU CAN'T CHANGE ME!" Blaine argued.
"YOU CAN'T BE BORN A FILTHY PIECE OF SHIT. THEN YOUR MOTHER AND I WOULDN'T HAVE TAKEN YOU HOME!"
Blaine was fed up, He tried to calm himself down, "You know what, you can say whatever you want. This is who I am, whether you like it or not. I have people in my life who love me for who I am." Blaine looked towards Kurt, "He loves me. And I love him. And there's nothing you can do to change that." Blaine drew back his breath.
His father stayed silent. And then looked towards Kurt. "YOU DID THIS TO HIM. YOU TURNED HIM INTO MUCH AS A FLAMING FAG AS YOU ARE!"
"DO NOT TALK TO HIM THAT WAY!" Blaine snapped. "You know what. I'm done. I'm going to my room." Blaine huffed.
"That's not your room anymore boy," His father said, his cooled dark eyes stared at Blaine. "You go up there. Grab all of your faggy shit, and leave," he spat.
Blaine stared at his father, or who used to be. "Okay." Blaine stomped his way up the stairs, he didn't even realize Kurt following him. Or his mother. When he got to his room, he slammed the door shut. He grabbed all of his clothes and shoved into a duffel bag. A few toiletries, and his guitar. There was a faint knock on his door. "WHAT?!" He barked at it. The door slowly pushed open and reviled his mother with Kurt standing behind her.
"Hey, sweetie," His mother cooed. She brought him into a tight hug. Blaine started to break down in her arms. "I'm so, so, so sorry."
"You can't do anything," Blaine sobbed.
"Blaine, It's his house. I will always agree, so I do not make him mad."
Blaine pulled out of his mother's arms, "So you agree with that man... that monster." He trembled, "How… how could you do that?"
She shrugged, "I don't know… I just don't know what to even say." Mrs. Anderson walked out of the room. Blaine stood there, staring, watching his mother leave the room. He grabbed his bags, and stormed out of the room, not acknowledging Kurt. He ran downstairs and flew out the door to what was his door to the house he lived in. He chucked the items he stowed away into his car and got in the driver's seat. He took a few deep breaths, before completely crying his eyes out.
"Oh honey, it's going to be okay," Kurt rubbed little circles on Blaine's back, trying to calm him down. "Blaine, look at me." Blaine did. "You're going to be alright. If you want you can come and live with me."
Blaine shook his head, "No…*sniff*... I can't do that to your family."
"Then where are you going to go?" Kurt feared for the answer.
"I don't know. Maybe hide out at the library, at least they'll have a bathroom."
Kurt couldn't believe this, "Okay, no. I am not letting that happen. Blaine, look at me." Blaine looked down, not wanting to make eye contact. Kurt lifted Blaine's face. "You are going to come and live with me, okay." Blaine wanted to protest, "No, no, no, end of the story. You will stay with me." Blaine sniffed once more, he nodded. "Here let me drive."
Kurt and Blaine drove home in silence. Not a word was spoken. Nor was the radio playing. The only noise made was the occasional sniffs that Blaine made. When they pulled up to the Hummel-Hudson house, Blaine grabbed his bags and Kurt grabbed the guitar.
"Are you sure? Is your dad even going to be okay with this?" Blaine mumbled to Kurt.
Kurt took Blaine's free hand in his, "Yes, I'm sure. And if he's not, Carol will be. She let Quinn stay with them when she was kicked out." Kurt opened the door to find his dad and Finn on the couch, with Carol in the kitchen. They all stopped what they were doing, as they noticed that the boys had walked into the house. "Hi," Kurt said quietly.
"Kurt, what's going on?" Burt stood up from the couch and made his way near the boys. Finn muted the tv and Carol put down the knife she was using.
Kurt looked over to Blaine, who was broken inside. "Blaine's family kicked him out," Kurt finally stated. Carol gasped and brought her hand to her mouth. "I was wondering if he could stay with us."
Burt nodded, "Okay."
"Really?" Blaine piped up, he was clearly on the verge of tears again.
"Of course dear," Carol moved towards him and wrapped him in her arms. "You can stay as long as you want."
"Thank you."
Burt touched his shoulder, "Any time. We can fix the basement couch up for you. You and Kurt will not be sharing a room."
"Dad," Kurt smacked his dad's arm and rolled his eyes.
As the night settled down, Blaine made his way to the basement. There were already a couple of pillows and blankets down there for him. Blaine got ready for the night and lied down on the couch. He slowly drifted off to sleep, as he was trying to adjust to his new life.
Chapter Twenty-OneBlaine woke up the next morning with Kurt leaning over him. Kurt was running his fingers through Blaine's ungelled curly hair. Blaine sighed. He loved to wake up like this, with Kurt next to him. But then reality set in, and he remembered the previous night. He didn't want to cry anymore and was so delicate. He just wanted his life back.
"Good morning, my love," Kurt whispered and placed a sweet kiss on Blaine's forehead. "How are you today?"
"Ugh, just tired I guess. I didn't sleep well." Blaine sat up on the couch.
Kurt scooted next to Blaine on the couch, he interlocked their hands together. "Yay, I didn't sleep well last night, as well."
Blaine looked concerned, "What why not?"
"Well… I was worried about you. Your father just disowned you… I just hate what you're going through. I hate that you have to suffer. I hate that the one person I truly love is suffering."
"Kurt," Blaine made direct eye contact with Kurt's striking blue eyes, "I don't want you to worry over me. I am now safe. I am now happy and surrounded by people who actually care about me. And not to mention the person I'm in love with." Blaine giggled a little, "And I should also be thanking you. For helping me through all of this mess, the mess that is my life."
"Don't worry about it, Blaine. I will always be there to pick you up when you have fallen," Kurt pecked Blaine's cheek before they headed upstairs for breakfast.
Carol was already hard at work on making breakfast. There were pancakes, eggs, and bacon galore. "Wow," Blaine's eyes were now the size of tennis balls.
Mrs. Hummel-Hudson giggled at Blaine's reaction, "Good morning boys," she greeted. "Does either of you know if Finn is up yet?" And coincidentally they heard a door slam and feet running downstairs. "Speaking of the devil,"
"I smelled food," Finn announced to the room.
Kurt rolled his eyes, "Yay, we kind of figured."
"So Blaine, how was your first night here?" Carol asked.
"Oh, fine… I guess. It was just something I need to get used to I guess," Blaine said somberly. Kurt didn't miss the way Blaine's face fell. He grabbed the boys hand and comforted him. "Oh, and thank you for being so generous and letting me stay here."
"You don't need to thank me, I'm glad I get to help you."
Blaine smiled a little. He never knew that people could actually care about him so much. "Finn, I hope this goes without saying but please don't tell the glee club about any of… this. I don't need any of their pity. And they are just going to start rumors and it's going to be a mess." Finn nodded in agreement.
"What why?" Kurt questioned, "You know that they would just want to help you."
"I know. I just don't want the help, Kurt. I've got enough help from you guys," Blaine gestured at the Hummel-Hudson family.
Kurt huffed, "Fine."
The three boys all got ready to go to school and carpooled together. Once at school they all went to glee club, where they were ironing out the final kinks of their performance.
"Nice job guys, it's coming together," Mr. Shue cheered as they finished practicing one of their dance numbers. Everyone other than Brittany and Mike was panting because none of them knew how hard a sustained dance number could be. "Now let's all take a break, and head back to the choir room." They all left the auditorium. Kurt and Blaine were hand-in-hand.
"Hey have you noticed how people seem to stop staring at me in the hallway," Blaine mentioned.
"Really… that's a good thing right?" Kurt seemed a little confused.
"That's an amazing thing. People aren't glaring at me as I walk down the halls. I haven't gotten slushied in a few days, locker chucks from Karofsky are dying down." Blaine was smiling.
"Well, that just means that people are final warming up to the idea that you're all mine."
Blaine wrapped his arms around Kurts waist, "I love that fact that I'm all yours. I love you, so much."
Kurt gave Blaine a quick kiss, "I love you too. Now come on, we have to get back to the choir room." When they walked in there were two men of middle age talking to Will. The rest of the club looked seriously annoyed. Then Blaine saw the person who was standing behind the two men. Rachel.
"What the hell, why is she here?" Blaine pointed out.
Chapter Twenty-Two"Hi, Blaine," Rachel whispered out. The entire class was shocked that she even acknowledged his presence in the room. "Uh, for those of you who don't know who they are," gesturing to the men behind her, "They are my dads."
"Okay, hello," Mr. Shue greeted, "How can you help you guys today?"
One of the men started to talk, "Well it has come to our attention that you kicked our dear Rachel out of the glee club."
"Kicked her out," Blaine said under his breath. He rolled his eyes, along with the rest of the New Directions.
"Um… Mr. And Mr. Berry, Rachel quit," Will explained.
Rachel's dads turned to her, "Is this true sweet pea?"
"No, I didn't quit."
Blaine stood up, having dealt with enough of her crap, "Yes Rachel, you did quit."
"Oh, hello Blaine. How have you been doing?" Mr. Berry asked, "We haven't seen you in a while."
"Why don't you ask your daughter why I haven't seen in months," Blaine angrily pointed towards Rachel.
"Rach, what is that boy getting at?" LeRoy asked his daughter.
"You didn't tell them, why am I surprised," Blaine huffed, almost in a laugh, "Go ahead, tell them."
"Tell us what."
Rachel hung her head down low, "Um… I…uh…." Rachel was looking towards Blaine.
Blaine crossed his arms, "You want me to recap everything that's happened, don't you. No. You tell them why we broke up with you, tell them why I get shoved into to lockers daily, tell them why I get slurs thrown at me, tell them why I can't even go into my fucking house." The club went silent. Blaine hadn't even realized that he had hot, wet tiers leaving his face. Kurt grabbed his hand and pulled him back down to the chair where he comforted the boy.
"Rachel… what did you do."
"I might have told the entire school that Blaine was gay," Rachel spoke softly, you barely hear her, "And then I might have told his family."
"YOU DID WHAT!" One of her dads yelled.
Rachel sobbed, "I'm so, so, so sorry."
"Yay, well we're going home. NOW!" He grabbed Rachel by the arm and stormed off.
One of her dads stayed behind, "I am so sorry to disturb you guys. And Blaine," Blaine looked up, "If you need anything, you can talk to us." Blaine nodded at the gesture. The class was still silent, not knowing where to start. They all just sat there, in a big awkward silence.
"Someone just say something!" Blaine announced annoyed, "Please."
"Sooooo… did your family kick you out?" Tina piped up.
Blaine nodded.
"Oh my god, Blaine all you alright? Do you need anything? Do you have a place to stay? Do you need me to go get Ms. Pillsbury?" Mr. Shue frantically asked.
"I'm fine, I guess. It's just strange knowing that my family doesn't want me anymore," Blaine signed at the sad phenomenon, "Yes, I have a place to stay for now, at least. And no, please do not get Ms, Pilsbury."
Kurt chimed in, "Blaine, you are staying at my place as long as you can."
"Thank you," He whispered in Kurts ear, so only he could hear it.
"So how did your parents find out?" Puck asked.
"Uh… Rachel came over to my house and told my dad." The choir room was in shock. None of them thought Rachel could be that terrible.
"What happened then?" Quinn asked.
"Well …he um… he called me somethings, and um… he told me to pack up my things and leave," Blaine was trying to keep his tears at bay. Kurt squeezed Blaine's hand, and Blaine squeezed back.
Will couldn't believe what he was hearing, "Wow, Blaine. Are you sure you don't need anything?"
"Nope," Blaine sighed, "I've got everything I need." He looked towards Kurt.
"Okay then, and with that, I'm going to call this rehearsal. I'll see you all tomorrow."
