It was just like any other day in the lab; researching things Bruce never thought he would have the chance to, and Tony finding new ways to blow things up. Oh, and usually Tony enjoyed being a distraction to Bruce. Today there were no distractions, they were both deeply engrossed in their own work. Bruce was pretty sure he was close to a break through, if he could just figure out-

"Excuse me, sirs, Ms Romanoff is trying to gain access to the lab," JARVIS' voice jolted Bruce from his thoughts.

There was a thud and Tony emerged from a pile of robotics rubbing his head, "Tell her to come back later, we're busy. Bruce is about to have a break through."

"She's being rather insistent sir, apparently you need to see something urgently," JARVIS told him.

Bruce turned to Tony, distracted by his words, "How'd you know that I'm on the verge of a break through?"

Tony smirked, "You start talking excitedly to yourself, its adorable."

"Oh," Bruce pushed his glasses up trying to hide the hint of a blush adorning his cheeks.

"Sir…" JARVIS reminded Tony of the issue at hand.

Tony rolled his eyes and moseyed over to the giant steel door, he put the security code into the keypad and the door slid open, "This had better be an emergency."

Natasha appeared in front of them, now unobstructed by the door, her arms were crossed as she glared at him, "I wouldn't have disturbed your play time if it wasn't important, you both need to come down to the training room, now."

They followed Nat into the spacious elevator and Tony made eyes at Bruce all the way down to the training room. It was an enormous room, it took up most of a level in Avengers Tower, plus it had every type of indoor training equipment you could possibly want, and then some.

The elevator door opened to reveal Clint waiting for them in only a singlet and shorts, "Glad you could make time in your busy schedule," he teased.

Nat led the way out of the elevator but Tony noticed a pile of clothes next to a large sparring mat on the floor "Were you two training or banging down here?" he shot back.

That shut Clint up, but Nat wasn't so easily embarrassed, "It's over here," she led them through a bunch of equipment, around a corner and into an open space where a bright ball of golden light hovered in the middle.

"Wow, I've never seen anything like this," Bruce was instantly fascinated, he stepped closer and did a 360 around the light source, noting that he could not see through it.

Tony reacted straight away, "JARVIS, why did the system not pick this up?"

"The only reading I'm picking up is raw energy sir, your preferences have been set to not alert you of any energy fluctuations in the training room due to the Tower's occupants," JARVIS responded coolly.

"Is it stable?" Tony asked; he knew he would have to tweak the settings now, possibly even register each person's energy in the system. Things to think about later when there wasn't a mysterious energy source in his Tower.

"Yes, I believe so, although I do not trust it will remain that way," JARVIS informed him.

Tony pulled out his phone/portable computer/camera/hacking device and checked the stats himself, then he moved closer to Bruce and showed him. There was one piece of information that intrigued him in particular, "What do you make of this?" he pointed to a specific section on the screen.

The coordinates, in longitude and latitude, kept switching between the Tower, unknown and what Bruce thought was probably the other side of America, "Oh, do you think it's like a worm hole?"

"That would be one guess," Tony looked him in the eyes and then took a training stick from the rack and poked around at the light; nothing happened, "I think we should go through."

Bruce gaped at him, "I don't think that's a good idea Tony."

"I agree with Bruce," Nat interjected, she almost never sided with Stark.

"This isn't something we should rush into," Clint added from his post against the wall.

"This could be a huge scientific discovery, Bruce. What if we are the first people to discover it?" Tony argued trying to appeal to Bruce's scientific curiosity. Tony moved forward, he had made his decision.

Bruce rushed forward and gripped his hand as Tony walked right up to the light, then he kissed Bruce on the cheek and stepped through, his hand still in Bruce's.

Bruce's eyes went wide, "I'm telling you Tony, we should do more tests before even thinking about stepping through this thing, we don't know what could be waiting on the other-oh…"
