Chapter 1: Communication and the Childhood Chat

The next day, I met some of my other best friends Alex Russo, Justin Evans, Max Greenwald, and Carly Shay, as well as Carly's parents, Sam and Freddie, at Alex's house in Squirrel Hill. "Hi, guys!" I greeted my friends. "Hi, Angel!" Alex greeted back. Before our discussion group on communication, we had a Childhood Chat with Pittsburgh's Perfect Parties clients Elizabeth Mosh, Kaitlyn and Colleen Marioni, Natalie Bay, Samantha Mifflin, Nicole Ellis, Sarah Ching, and Grace Luster. "Communication is very important when you work," I told my friends. "It occasionally can be hard to learn, but we all need to master the skills sooner or later." I was munching on a slice of cheesecake during the meeting. "When I first moved here, I had to learn how people communicated with each other in the neighborhood, and then I got acquainted in this neighborhood," Carly stated. "I had to read all the different kinds of communication, too," Mrs. Shay agreed. "And so did I," Mr. Benson agreed. "Alex, Justin, Max, do you guys have anything to say?" I asked my other friends. "During my junior year of high school, I learned that music was a form of communication, and a very unique form of communication," Alex told all of us. "I hope that I can communicate the basics of music further to my students if I work at MSG Academy one day," Justin proclaimed. "Who knew that a simple brass instrument would be a good way to communicate with people?" Max asked. "I think we should make another snack and drink for our next Childhood Chat," I told my friends. "We could bake cookies without spreading gossip and make an inside joke about fruit punch!" "Great idea," Carly agreed. Only 5 clients came to our second Childhood Chat, and they were Kayla Jennis, Brooke Leesaw, Sophia Cleng, Julia Robison, and Rachel Luster, Grace's cousin. After we finished our drinks and snacks, I headed back to my mentor, Jenna's apartment in Point Breeze. "Thanks for a great day, everyone!" I thanked my friends. "You're welcome, Angel," Alex replied. "Bye, guys!" "Bye!"
