Hey guys, this is a Merthur chapter, apparently there is a limit on how many characters you can have in the chapter name.
Much love xox

"At least you're good at talking to people," Merlin commented as they made their way over to what seemed to be the main desk of the library.
"One of us has to be," Arthur teased, and then he stole an ardent kiss whilst between the cover of two tall shelves.
At the desk sat an elderly lady, she was quickly and quietly organising books like she'd been doing it for years, and she probably had been. The lady looked at the pair over her rhinestone rimmed glasses as they approached the desk, "Can I help you boys?" her tone was pinched and proper.
"Hello, good lady, we would appreciate it if you would be so kind as to relay to us some information about Beacon Hills," Arthur smiled one of his charming kingly smiles at her.
Merlin rolled his eyes, "Specifically about any strange happenings or any places we would want to avoid," he clarified.
"Oh? You boys aren't from around here then," she looked at them properly, curiosity in her eyes. She gave the two of them a lengthy look, probably due to their attire.
"No, ma'am," Merlin admitted.
"Hmm," she put down the book she was processing and leant onto the desk to be closer, "lots of mysterious things happen in this town, everyone pretends that it doesn't, but this town has a long history. There was the fire at the Hale place years ago, suspicious deaths and disappearances, and I wouldn't go into Beacon Hills Preserve, that's the forest surrounding the town, alone if I were you. Even in town, and at the school there have been unexplained incidences."
The two men were enraptured, "Do you know what is causing these things to happen here? Why this town?" Merlin asked enthusiastically.
She glanced around as if ensuring there was no one or nothing around to hear her, "It depends what you believe in, some say ghosts, some say some kind of beast or wild animal, some say its karma or a curse. Whatever you believe, I wouldn't be going out at night," she nodded and straightened up; obviously satisfied she had given them enough information.
They got the hint, "Your information was very helpful, you have my gratitude," Arthur declared.
Trying to not get lost in the large building, they went back the way they had come to find Dean and Castiel to relay the information they had recovered. However, back between the tall shelving of thick books, with no one else around, was the perfect place for a short affair of tongues and lips to take place.
Merlin was pressed against the shelving with one hand squeezing his King's ass and the other grasped the shelf to keep him steady. Arthur's left hand was up Merlin's shirt and the right one on his servant's hip keeping them pressed together. It was Arthur's hips that moved first, grinding into Merlin as they continued to kiss with a fiery passion that was completely inappropriate for where they were, but who cares when it's not your universe, right?
Merlin's hips responded and then they were rutting against each other through their thin linen pants like horny teenagers. The shelf supporting Merlin rattled with their movement, without slowing down Merlin's eyes glowed amber and the shelving was silent; just a little harmless magic.
"Fuck, Merlin," Arthur whispered, and Merlin knew his lover was close; he wasn't the only one.
The motion of their hips went from fluid to erratic, Merlin pulled Arthur's face back towards him and locked their lips together, silencing any noise they might both make as they found their release. Arthur rested his head on Merlin's shoulder and the pair panted quietly.
"Shit, that was unexpected," Arthur whispered.
Merlin chuckled, "You started it."
Arthur laughed too, "I know, we could never do this at home."
"Want to make a bet?" Merlin grinned, then his eyes flashed amber again and the mess they had created in their pants was gone.
Arthur was slightly startled by the automatic clean up, "Did you stop the shelf from rattling too?"
"Yes," Merlin admitted.
"Smart…for a clotpole," Arthur teased.
Merlin punched him jokingly on the upper arm.
"Uhm…" they both stopped and looked up to find the Doctor at one end of the aisle, "we found something," he said and beckoned them to follow him. There seemed to be a small, knowing glint in the Doctors eyes, but he turned too quickly for them to be sure they didn't just imagine it.
They followed the Doctor back to a set of odd boxes on tables, which they assumed were the computers, where the rest of the group were.
"We have information," Merlin announced.
"Alright, let's hear it," Dean invited, leaning back in his chair.
"We spoke to the lady at the desk, she told us that many strange and mysterious things happen here; fires, deaths, disappearances. She stressed that we stay away from the forest surrounding the town, and not to go out at night," Arthur shared the information.
"Did she say what was causing the deaths and disappearances?" Kirk asked from his seat next to Spock.
"She didn't know, though there is much speculation from the town's folk. It seemed to revolve around beasts or curses or ghosts," Arthur answered.
"Makes sense," Castiel said to no one in particular, not taking his eyes off of his own computer.
"What did your research turn up?" Merlin asked.
Dean sighed wearily, "Well, the town is aptly named, I'll give it that. It's like the guy who founded it knew and was making a damn joke about it. The town sits on an intersection of ley lines, not to mention it's got some serious telluric currents; it's basically a shining 'beacon' for supernatural and unexplained activity. Weird shit homes in on this place."
"I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with, uh, ley lines, and tell-telluric currents…" Arthur frowned, "what are they?"
"Put simply, ley lines are a hidden network of energy lines that run across the earth, according to some people, it is believed that where these lines intersect it is a hot spot for odd or unexplained events occurring, often of supernatural origin. Telluric currents are an electric current which moves underground or through the sea, telluric currents result from both natural causes and human activity. Putting that much energy in one place could certainly consequence in some strange disruptions," Spock explained with ease.
"So you believe this is what caused the portals to open here all in the same place?" Merlin asked.
"Yes, this would explain everything, however there isn't really anything we can do about the energy of the earth," Castiel replied with a nod.
Merlin thought about, he wished he could contact Gaius, or even Kilgharrah, surely one of them would know if there was a way to calm the energy flow of the earth. On the other hand, nature should be allowed to run its course and maybe this was what was supposed to occur. He could always try tapping into the flow and see what happened, but what if that caused the portals to close and they were all stranded here. Merlin decided he would discuss it with Arthur when they were alone.
They were mid conversation when two men approached the group, "Excuse me," a Scottish accent said, "are you blokes finished with a computer? I just need to-" he stopped mid-sentence to more closely examine the computer over Spock's shoulder. His eyes flicked to each member of the group, "Stephen I think we've found them," he told his companion, who stepped closer and grinned.
"If I asked if you lot had been to the forest recently and seen some strange lights grouped together…what would you say?"
Rose laughed, "I'd say join the club. Hey, we should get t-shirts made."
"That's not a bad idea," the Doctor agreed brightly.
"Welcome, I take it you both came from one of the portals in the forest too?" Kirk checked.
"You would be correct, we call them 'anomalies' back home, we have a team that monitors their activity and deals with anything that comes through," the man with the Scottish accent informed them.
"Fascinating," Spock commented.
"I'm Stephen, by the way," the other man introduced them, "and this is Nick, we've been working on this for years but we've never seen anything quite like this before."
The Doctor introduced the group, and then enquired, "Is there anything we should know about these anomalies?"
"They read basically as pure energy. We've been searching for some reason as to why they have all popped up here together, but it seems you have found that out. Unfortunately, they generally don't stick around for very long, making time of the essence in getting all of you, as well as ourselves back home. We should really be heading back to our own universes soon, I'm not sure they will stay stable for another day," Stephen educated them.
Everyone shared nervous glances at that news.
"We'd better get moving and regroup at the hotel then, you're welcome to come with us if you like, it's the one near the hospital," Kirk offered to Stephen and Nick.
"Thank you, we are heading back to the same hotel actually, so that works out perfectly," Nick stated.
On that note they made for the library's exit, there was a new sense of urgency amongst the group; no one wanted to be stranded in the wrong universe. It was straight to the metal cart…car, once they were outside.
"How did you get to the library?" Arthur queried.
"We walked, we can walk back to the hotel it's no problem," Stephen assured him.
"Cas can take you," Dean told Stephen and Nick. To Cas he suggested, "Maybe take Merlin and Arthur too."
Castiel nodded and moved towards the four men he was transporting.
"So where's your car?" Nick asked looking around.
Merlin laughed.
"I do not have one," Castiel replied simply as if that explained everything.
Stephen and Nick glanced at each other, confusion written on their faces.
Castiel touched Nick and Stephen's shoulders from behind.
"Bend your knees!" Dean called from the car as it roared to life.
Then the three of them were gone. Castiel was back in a flash and repeated the action on Merlin and Arthur. They would have to fill the other two in, this would be a day that none of them were ever likely to forget.
