Chapter 8: Five Hours of Fun
The next day, I met up with some of my other best friends Alex Russo, Justin Evans, Max Greenwald, and Carly Shay, along with Carly's parents, Sam and Freddie, at Waffalonia in Squirrel Hill for breakfast. "Hi, guys!" I greeted my friends. "Hi, Angel!" Alex greeted back. "Isn't this one of the best waffle places?" Carly asked. "Yes, it is, Carly," Mr. Benson agreed. "We didn't even have a Waffalonia in Natrona Heights," Mrs. Shay remembered. "But, I remember eating waffles for breakfast at one really great breakfast place in middle school." Pretty soon, a Childhood Chat came up. We chatted with Jennifer Preager about doing activities in the city of Pittsburgh during the spring and summer of 2010, Kayla Jennis doing activities in the western suburbs of Pittsburgh during the spring and summer of 2011, Brooke Leesaw doing activities in the eastern suburbs of Pittsburgh during the spring and summer of 2012, Sophia Cleng doing activities in the southern suburbs of Pittsburgh during the spring and summer of 2016, and Allison Brawner doing activities in the northern suburbs of Pittsburgh during the spring and summer of 2019. "Maybe, we should do our own fun activities at home," Alex stated. "What were some of your favorite activities that they talked about?" "I liked the snowball fight and snowmen in Zelienople," Max stated. "I liked the photo shoot in Murrysville," Justin added. "My personal favorite activity was the talent show in Imperial," Alex stated. "But, I also liked when Jennifer talked about going to the mall in Brighton Heights." "I remember that we had a mall of our own that we could go to when you guys were still in high school, and that was the Pittsburgh Mills Mall, of course!" I happily exclaimed. "Maybe, we should have our own talent show today," Alex happily stated, "unless anybody else has ideas!" "I think that we should do a make-up contest and a make-your-own ice cream sundae bar," Carly stated. "Come to think of it, I would also like to have a nighttime scavenger hunt and also make a crafty keepsake box," Alex stated. We then went back to Alex, Justin, and Max's house and spent our first hour making a crafty keepsake box, then our second hour doing a nighttime scavenger hunt when it was raining outside, then our third hour doing a make-up contest, our fourth hour having and eating our sundae bar, and then finally, our fifth hour doing the planned talent show. After we got all of our activities done that we planned to do, another Childhood Chat came up. Ashley Cassoin discussed playing her first video games at age 5 in Ross Township, Isabella Black discussed accepting a dare at age 6 in Hampton Township, Abigail Mifflin discussed watching a funny movie at age 13 in the western suburbs of Pittsburgh, Victoria Spurnick discussed selling lemonade at age 14 in McCandless, Sarah Ching discussed sleeping in total darkness at age 14 in the southern suburbs of Pittsburgh, Brianna Shokoko discussed receiving her favorite pajama set just last year in Westmoreland County, and Emma Wallace discussed telling her ghost story this past summer in the northern suburbs of Pittsburgh. Pretty soon, it was time for me to go back to my mentor, Jenna's apartment in Point Breeze. "Thanks for a great day, everyone!" I thanked my friends. "You're welcome, Angel," Alex replied. "Bye, guys!" "Bye!"
