Wrestlemania Week.
"I can't believe you didn't tell your parents." Kate said finishing her make up for the Hall of Fame.
"It's not my best moment. What was I suppose to say?" Seth asked fixing his tie in the mirror.
"The truth? It's bad enough I have to make nice with you for the cameras since they insist on filming you for WWE 24 but now I have to do that in front of my mother in law." Kate said finishing putting on her lip stick.
"I just didn't want to ruin Mania week for everyone." Seth said. "Bad enough you told your parents. My in laws hate me now. I haven't even seen your Dad."
"I wasn't going to lie to my parents. Just be thankful you haven't seen my Dad yet. That is for your benefit not his. My mom is keeping him busy." Kate said now putting on her ear rings.
"Momma wows you wooks pretty." Ella said jumping on the bed holding her stuffed Olaf.
"Thank you my princess. But please don't jump on the bed I don't want you to fall." Kate said taking her little hand as she stopped jumping.
"It fun Momma." Ella smiled.
"Yeah it fun." Jaxon repeated.
"I know it's so fun but it's also dangerous." Kate said putting on her heels.
"Your mom's right it's to dangerous we don't jump on the beds at home so we don't jump on them at the hotel." Seth said grabbing his suit jacket and putting it on.
"ohtay." Ella said as she and Jaxon started playing with a few other toys that were on the bed.
As they were finishing getting ready there was a knock on the hotel room door. Kate answered it and there stood her mother in law.
"Oh Kate you look so beautiful. I knew that dress would be prefect when you showed me months ago." Holly said looking at her daughter in law in the sequin detail on the top knee length dress that flowed a little at the bottom.
"Thank you Mom." Kate said as Holly came into the hotel room.
"Seth sweetheart you look so great! I am loving the all black shirt this time with the tie." Holly said fixing his tie.
"Thanks Mom. Kate picked it out a few months ago when she go her dress." Seth said glancing at Kate.
"Grandma wooks at my new toy Dad got it for me." Ella smiled showing Holly her new toy Seth got for her.
"Wow it's Olaf?" Holly smiled looking at it the plush toy.
"I dots dis." Jaxon said holding up a Star Wars baby Yoda plush toy.
"A Star Wars toy I should have guessed." Holly chuckled. "I see the kids have already had their baths."
"Yes and they already ate dinner. But there are snacks and fruit in the fridge if they get hungry." Kate said. "If you need anything don't hesitate to call."
"Of course we've got this covered." Holly said as she looked over at her son and daughter in law. "You both look so amazing. Relax and have a good time tonight."
"Thanks Mom we will." Seth smiled. "Kids be good for Grandma."
"I always good." Ella beamed hugging her Grandma.
"I dood oo issy." Jaxon said as he smiled.
"I know you are. I love you both so much." Kate said giving the kids hugs and kisses.
Hall of Fame.
"My mom is right you look amazing tonight." Seth said holding her hand kissing her cheek.
"You don't need to kiss my ass the camera is now over talking with Ronda." Kate said letting go of his hand.
"I meant what I said Kate you look amazing. You know I still love you so much and you are still my wife so I can give you a compliment when I want too." He said.
"Do you really mean it or are you just playing nice?" She asked looking at him.
"I meant what I said I want to try and work on us." He told her placing his hand on her cheek.
"You still haven't answered my question and until you do that I am not sure how we can work on us or move on from this. Excuse me." She said walking away as Seth watched her as he signed in frustration.
Kate went over to the rest room to check her make up and just take a minute. The last few days had been a lot with Seth's meet & greet and having the cameras interview them for Seth's WWE 24 Wrestlemania addition they were filming.
"Kate are you alright?" Galina asked coming into the restroom and seeing Kate staring in the mirror.
"I am thanks Galina. Just needed a minute." Kate said washing her hands.
"I am here if you need to talk." She offered.
Kate nodded. "Thanks just not sure what to say any more."
"Seth trouble?" Galina asked.
Kate chuckled. "It is that obvious?"
"No not really. Seth just called Roman a few nights ago I could sense Roman wasn't thrilled with his friend and I get that same sense from you in that wife isn't thrilled with her husband way." Galina said.
"I am not happy with him at all. In fact I hate him right now in this moment I hate him. I know that is a strong word but it's the only one that seems to fit right now. But what really sucks is that I still love him. We have two amazing miracles together and I thought we had a great marriage but I guess he felt differently. That's what hurts the most right now is that I feel like I've been living a lie these last few years." Kate explained.
"I have been overly blessed with Roman. He's never waived in how he shows his love for me or our 5 kids. So I can't even begin to tell you that I understand but all I can say is just try to talk to him. I know Seth can be bone headed but I do know he loves you and the kids."
"Thanks I know I just need to talk to him and not be so pissed at him. Whenever he opens his mouth I just want to smack him and say how do I know you aren't lyin' to me." Kate said her southern accent a little stronger.
"It may take time but I know you two will get back on track. Seth's grown up a lot since he's been with you. Which is a good thing."
"Not grown up enough I guess. But thank you so much for listening to me and yes I will talk to him." She said as they hugged.
They were both walking out of the rest room and back to the holding area where all the past and present super stars were waiting and mingling before heading out to the red carpet. When Kate growled looking over in Seth's direction.
"Hey baby they are ready for us on the Red carpet." Roman said kissing her cheek. When he noticed Kate heading right towards Seth. "Seth you dumb ass."
"Are you kidding me Seth? I was gone less than 10 minutes and you can't not talk to her?" Kate growled as Seth was over talking with Becky.
"Kate it's ..."
"I wasn't talking to you, you home wrecking whore!" Kate said getting in Becky's face. "I told you Monday that Seth was my husband and to stay away from him. But yet the second I walk away you try to get your claws into him? Are you that desperate? Get your own DAMN husband and stay the hell away from mine!" Kate growled as she shoved past Becky heading towards the door.
"Kate! Please wait up. Damn it." Seth said.
"Seth you are gonna let her talk to me like that?" Becky asked.
"Beck leave it alone alright please." Seth said.
"So what we had is nothing now because she said so?" Becky asked.
As Shane and Hunter saw the commotion Shane headed after Kate and Hunter went over to Becky and Seth.
"Beck please you know this is hard for me." Seth whispered pulling her off to the side.
"Hard for you? This isn't exactly a picnic for me either."
"Everything alright over here?" Hunter asked.
"Yeah fine Trips." Seth said.
"You sure? Kate looked pretty mad." Hunter said pointing to the door.
"Shit! Kate!" Seth said going towards the door as Hunter stopped him. "If I were you I would give her a minute. Shane went to go check on her."
As Seth rolled his eyes and growled.
"Hi Kate?" Shane said softly touching her hand. "You alright?"
Shane had found Kate in one of the backstage staging area rooms.
"Yeah. How did you know I was in here?" She asked.
"I am Shane McMahon." He said with a chuckle. "Also Roman saw you coming in here before he hit the red carpet."
"Well here I am and here you are. Fancy seeing you here been awhile." Kate said wiping her eyes and turning to face him.
"Well I thought I needed to make my presents known this year." Shane smiled. "Kate I know you better you and you don't shed tears over nothing. So what's really going on? I saw that little exchange with Becky."
"Let's just say karma finally found my ass." Kate said.
"Sweet girl what are you talking about?" Shane asked.
Kate chuckled. "You haven't called me that since we were together."
"I know. But you know you can talk to me about anything." He told her as they were both sitting down now.
"Seth cheated on me." Kate said biting her lip.
"That selfish asshole. With Becky?" Shane said anger in his voice shaking his head.
"Yeah with Becky. Shane I have to ask you something and I want you to be as honest with me as you can?"
"Sure of course." Shane said
"Why did you cheat? I mean why did you cheat with me all those years ago?"
Shane signed. "Katie I wish I had an answer. I wasn't the best person back then. I did a lot of things I was not proud of."
"Like sleeping with me?" She asked looking at him.
"Oh no that wasn't one of them. I don't regret that for a second. I meant it when I told you that I fell in love with you Kate. I did there was something about you that I just was attracted too and the more I got to know you the harder I fell. I regret the way I treated you and the way I tried to hold on to you. That was not my best moment. I let the fear of losing you and all the secretes control me to do things I am not proud of."
Kate nodded. "I did love you too Shane but I just couldn't be second choice any more. I feel so dumb for not seeing what was right in front of me. Seth cheated on me when I was pregnant with our son. Then again and again he is having a relationship with Becky and I can't forgive him for that. How hypocritical is that of me? To be so mad at him but I did the same thing I was the Becky in our relationship. If Marissa felt like this then I am a shitty person and I am so sorry I ever made her feel this way."
"You are anything but a shitty person Kate."
"I feel like it. I've tried to talk to Seth about this. The why he did it and all of that. But all he could tell me was that it was at first to scratch and itch. He then told me it's because she listened. Did I some how stop listening to him along they way? I never stopped loving him or caring about him. But we've been working a lot and the kids take up all of my time. I miss them when on the road so of course I tried to make up for being gone. I thought by traveling together it would have made a difference but I guess that didn't matter. He still found a way to cheat on me." Kate said. "So can you answer me Shane please what drove you to cheat on Marissa?"
"I fell out of love with her. I am not proud of it at all it just happened. Life , money and the kids separated us. We grew apart and wanted different things. When you came into my life you were something young fresh and new. It was like I was drowning and you brought me up for air." He told.
"Shane McMahon did you just quote Grey's Anatomy?" Kate chuckled hitting him playfully.
"Yeah. But that doesn't make it any less true. That Mcdreamy he knows his shit." Shane smiled. "I can't tell you why Seth cheated. But all I can say is that if he knows what's good for him he'll work hard as hell not to let you go. One thing I regret was not fighting harder enough for you in the right way."
"Shane that shipped sailed but thank you for saying it. Not gonna lie it feels good to be wanted."
"I've never not wanted you." Shane said kissing her forehead. "So about it ready for the hall of fame?"
"Actually I think I am just gonna head back to the hotel. I really don't feel like playing nice with Seth any more tonight. Just want to watch a crappy show on TV eat some ice cream and cuddle with my babies." Kate said standing up.
Shane nodded. "I will tell Seth you left."
"Thanks." She said hugging Shane as she was embraced in his hug she remember that safe loving feeling she use to get when they were together all those years ago.
"Of course." He told her.
Later that evening.
Seth had text Kate saying he was sorry and they he wanted to talk once he got back to the hotel. She was a little frustrated at herself for letting this all get to her and even more so at him for not coming to talk to her and staying for the Hall of Fame. She was just angry at herself and Seth. Kate didn't know what she was going to do or even what she wanted to do. When her phone buzzed on the night stand.
"Hey Kit Kat! Rome told me things went way the fuck south with Rollins. Can't say I am surprised he was never the brightest one between us. He's always been good at burning shit down. I am in town for an Indie event. We should meet up I want to talk to you! _Mox"
