Seth walked into the hotel room after the Hall of Fame ceremony was over. He knew he needed to talk to Kate so he decided not to hang around afterwards.
"Ridge? I mean Dad what are you doing here?" Seth asked seeing his father in law sitting on the couch in the their room reading a book.
"Kate asked me to come sit with my Grand-babies. Ella got up once after Katie left and I got her a drink and read to her and she soon fell asleep." Ridge explained.
Seth rubbed the back of his neck looking around the room.
"So umm where did Kate go?" He asked.
"Not really sure. Didn't ask. All she said was she needed to meet someone and get some air." Ridge stated getting up from the couch.
"Oh." Seth said nervously.
"Look I am not gonna lie to you son. I am very disappointed. I trusted you with my daughters heart and you broke it. When I met you I thought this guy is different he loves my daughter and he'll do anything for her. I told myself I can give my blessing because he loves her and wont hurt her. Boy was I wrong. Seth I hate being wrong about people. I am not gonna ask why because frankly that's none of my business. But if you truly love my daughter and my grand-babies. You will do whatever it takes to make this right and to make her happy. All I can say is think long and hard about what you really want."
"Of course I will sir. I love Kate and our kids more than anything in this world. I will do whatever I have to." Seth said. "You know I kind of expected you to hit me or worse."
"Oh believe me I want to. But my wife is right that wouldn't solve anything and Katie asked me to play nice with you this weekend so that is what I am gonna. She's my daughter Seth so I will always be on her side." Ridge stated grabbing his book on the coffee table and heading for the door. "Like I said the kids are sleeping and Kate didn't tell me what time she would be back."
Seth just nodded as he watched his father in law leave the hotel room. He glanced around the room feeling so empty and unsure of everything.
With Kate.
"Kit Kat." Moxley said opening up his arms to hug her.
"Moxley ya big movie star or is it AEW Champion?" She smiled in to the hug.
"Oh it's both babe!" He said cocky as he offered her a seat in the booth. "Hungry?" Moxley asked grabbing a menu as he sat across from her.
"Share a plate of chili cheese fries?" Kate asked pointing at the picture.
"Hell yes! You know what I like and just like old times." Moxley smiled as he ordered their food and sipped on his drink.
Kate smiled. "Just like old times when things were simpler."
"I am here to listen so talk!" Moxley said.
"Not really sure what to say honestly. I am pissed off. It took everything I had not to smack the shit out of Becky tonight. That is what sucks the most is that I actually liked Becky until I found out she fucked my husband now all I can think about is kicking her ass." Kate rambled on as Moxley listened to his friend.
"He's a stupid mother fucker." Moxley stated.
"Maybe I am an idiot for loving him, for thinking about I had the perfect marriage and life." Kate said sipping her soda.
"You are not at all. This is on Seth he should have kept his dick in his pants." Moxley growled. "Who cheats on their wife? Especially when she's hot as hell."
Kate giggled. "Are you saying I'm hot as hell?"
"You've always been beautiful." He said with a grin. "But even more than that you have kids together. You built this life together in Iowa. He had it all an amazing wife, two great kids and he pissed it away on some free Irish ass." Moxley scoffed.
"I guess I just wasn't enough for him. Karma came knocking on my door in a hard way." Kate said as the waitress put down their plate of chili cheese fries. She giggled as Moxley grabbed the biggest and gooiest one. "Still always have to go for the best fry?"
"Damn right babe! I am a fry guy." He smiled. "Listen I am not sure why you don't think you are enough. Hell you gave that man your whole life gave birth to two of his kids. He's the fuck up here Kate. This says WAY more about him than it does you."
"I just feel like it's on me too. I should have gave him more attention been a better wife. I know things were rough when I was pregnant with Jaxon I mean we went back and fourth on if we should even try to have another baby. We go so lucky with Ella that we tried for Jaxon. I know it was hard on him and me. I was taken off work and we have the scare with him that put me on bed rest for the last few months. I should have been more supportive instead of nagging him all the time." Kate said as she was eating a few fries. "I guess the sins of my past were bound to catch up with me." She said softly with a mouth full.
"Kit listen Rollins is a grown ass man. He doesn't need constant attention. This also doesn't have anything to do with you and Shane. That wasn't the best version of you no but we all have a past and fuck I've done shit I am not proud of believe me. But you've done more than enough to make up for it. Being a great wife, mother and a damn good medical assistant. So don't let Seth make you feel like shit because of his bad choices." Moxley said as he took a drink of his soda.
"Thanks Mox. I just don't know where to go from here." She said softly looking at the french fries.
"Well do you want to work this out with him? Do you want to stay married to him?"
Kate hadn't really thought of divorce and Jon Moxley was the first to ask her that.
"I … I haven't thought about it." Kate answered her friend honestly.
"I would start there and ask Seth what he wants even if you don't like the answer it's better to know what he wants rather than work on a marriage that is already doomed. I am not saying this to be a cruel I just don't want to see you waste your time because if Seth isn't in this for real then what's the fucking point ya know?" Moxley said looking into her eyes.
"Yeah that makes perfect sense. I asked him if he loved Becky."
"What did he say?" Moxley asked still making eye contact with her from across the table.
"He didn't say yes but he didn't say no either. I asked him what he wanted and he told me he wanted to work it out. But you are right Mox if he loves Becky then there is no way in hell our marriage is gonna make it. If he doesn't love me any more then why should we stay married. I just hate this for the kids. They are so young they don't understand what's going on. Like why we went to my parents house. Ella and Jaxon kept asking why Seth didn't come with us. I just kept telling them he was busy with work. They seemed to get it and after a few days they stopped asking. But what does their life look like? Do I stay in Iowa so Seth can see the kids? How does work go now? We both work for the same place do we be civil like fake it til we make it? Because honestly Mox that is taking it's toll on me now." Kate admitted.
"Kit you can't help how you feel and you shouldn't have to fake it. If you are pissed at him let him know." Moxley told her with a straight face.
"Oh he knows I am pissed at him after his little stunt tonight. But the WWE cameras have been following us around the last few days for WWE 24 Mania addition. So I am being a good little wife and playing nice when in reality our life is a mess." Kate said looking out towards the window.
"I hate seeing you like this. I want to kick Seth's ass the mother fucker." Moxley growled.
"He's tried to explain to me why he did it but I can't wrap my head around it. It just doesn't make sense to me. If he was so unhappy why did we have another baby why didn't he just tell me he needed sex when I couldn't give that to him. He should have just been honest with me. But nope instead he screws Becky. Then he basically starts a relationship with her why because oh she listens and apparently made more time for him. Well I am sorry I have a job, kids and house to maintain. I thought I was a good wife but I guess he didn't see it that way." Kate said.
"Hey just tossing this out here but why don't you come work for AEW?" Moxley asked.
"Mox." Kate giggled.
"No I am serious. I know Cody and Tony would be on board with it. You would love the Yong Bucks. Sometimes Omega can be a lot but he's a good guy. You'd fit right in." He told her. "We can always use more medical people on staff and you already know my history."
"You're serious." Kate said looking over at her friend.
"I am dead serious Kit it would get you away from Rollins and out from that cloud that is WWE. Not to mention away from all the petty bull shit you know is coming with Becky."
Kate sat there thinking about her friends offer.
"I just don't know. I mean the kids and everything." Kate hesitated.
"Promise me you will at least think about it Kit Kat." Moxley said taking her hand softly.
"Pinky Promise." She smiled sticking out her pinky as Mox linked his with hers and smiled.
After a little more catching up with each other Kate headed back to the hotel room. Seth was laying in bed watching TV. Kate couldn't bring herself to say anything to him as she went and checked in on the kids who were sleeping so soundly. Once she was ready for bed she slid into her side of the bed and plugged in her phone.
"Can we talk Katie please?"
"Let's get through tomorrow." She said softly as she rolled away from him facing the other way.
"Please baby?" He asked again softly touching her shoulder.
"Let's just get through Wrestlemania then we will talk."
