Can you read to me?
Blake sat on the park bench with her book watching other children play.
She was a quiet child, a bit lonely but too shy to talk to other children. Kali, her Mother had brought to the park for some fresh air and to see the beauty of the park.
At that point Kali received a call on her scroll which answered after telling Blake to stay by her side on the bench, Blake nodded and opened her book. As she read her book, she saw red at the corner of her eye. She at the object to discover that it was actually a smiling little girl. Blake jumped a bit not sure what to say but the scarlet girl spoke first.
"Hey what you reading?" the girl in red asked.
Before she could answer the little girl continued.
"Your kitty ears are cute."
Blake blushed and quickly cover her ears.
"Hey, can you read to me?" asked the girl.
Blake can respond with a "huh?"
"your book! Can you read to me? I like books and usually, my big sister reads too me"
Blake gave the little girl a curious look then smiles "Ok"
And soon the two sat together, Blake's new friend listened quietly, laughing at the funny moments.
After Blake finished reading the red little girl jumped off the bench and turned to Blake.
"You're cool and fun! You should play with us. I'll get my sister" and the red girl was off.
Blake watches the child run off but before she could tell her to wait her mother tapped her shoulder.
"It's time to go Blake."
"Oh, okay mom," said as she took her mother's hand. She then looked back thought to herself (I didn't even get her name" and left the park
"Come on Yang over here!" the young girl called back to sister
"wait up Rubes!" a Blonde girl called after her sister
"wait where is she" the young looked around but could longer see the other girl. "she was sitting on the bench here and she read to me"
Yang looked around confusion "maybe she went home, ruby?"
"oh maybe" Ruby looked down a bit sad
"but hey maybe you'll see her again don't you think?!" Yang said to cheer up her younger sister which seemed to work.
"Yeah! And then maybe she can read to me some more!" Ruby said smiling.
Yang took Ruby's hand "come on let's go home"
"Okay!" Ruby replied and soon the two girls left the park with their father.
"Blake, what's the matter?" Ruby asked her girlfriend who looked like she was lost in thought
"Oh nothing just remembered a fond memory," Blake said while holding her book, before she can read again, Ruby asked a favor that made Blake smile.
"Hey Blake, can you read to me?"
