Meeting the Parents.

To say Ruby was nervous would be an understatement. As she and Blake walked up towards the Belladonna her nerves started to kick in.

"B-Blake what… what if they don't" but Ruby is interrupted by Blake placing a finger to her lips

"Ruby, they'll love you!" Blake then press the doorbell and held the nervous girls' hand in comfort.

The door then opened and out stepped a cat-eared woman who Ruby assumed to Blake's mother

"Blake! It's been too long" the Woman says as she hugs her daughter.

It hasn't been that long I called the other day" Blake says as she returns the hug.

The woman turned towards Ruby, eyeing the girl up and down with a pleasant smile

"and you must be…" The mother begins to ask

"Oh, this is Ruby mom! My mate"

"mate?" Ruby curious about the word

"other way of saying girlfriend here" she whispers to Ruby

"MY girlfriend Ruby!"

Ruby begins to introduce herself

"HIMYNAMEISRUBYILOVEYOURDAUGHTERISAMAZING!" unfortunately her nerves took over making her speak a mile a minute which caused the older woman to chuckle.

"Hello dear, I figure as much seeing Blake talks so much about you! It's a pleasure. My name is Kali and I'm pretty sure you figured I'm her mother, it's great to finally meet you in person!"

Kali's warm greeting calm Ruby's nerves.

"I-I-I-ITSNICETO M-M-MEETYOU!" but not much

Kali welcomed the two women in, Ruby walking in like a robot but before Blake could enter she felt her mother put a hand on her shoulder "I like her"

Blake blushed "Mom! I'm glad"

Blake and Kali enter the living seeing Ruby standing in the center of the room awkwardly.

"Oh please Ruby have a seat here," kali said motioning towards the coach.

As Blake and Ruby sat Kali went to the kitchen "I'll get us some snacks so make yourselves comfortable"

As the two waited Blake look at her nervous girlfriend and held her hand, drawing small circles with her thumb. Suddenly a large man entered the room

"Ah Blake, welcome home, and you must be the famous Ruby Rose! I'm Ghira, Blakes father"

Ruby quickly got up. "it's an honor to me, you sir! I love your daughter…. VERYMUCH!"

Ghira chuckled "Please relax Ruby have a seat let's talk!"

And the three sat but not much talking was going on. The three sat quietly and awkwardly. In truth, Ghira was a bit nervous himself. He was going to see if the young lady was worthy of his daughter. Ghira finally broke the silence and attempted his tough father act.

"So Ruby." Ghira began his questioning "you're a huntress correct?"

"yep" Ruby answered

"Now what kind of missions have you been on"

"Oh, you know, typical hunts. Sometimes escort missions…" Ruby went wide-eyed and explained more "escort as in escorting trucks or wagons with valuable items or protecting caravans that kind of escort heh heh heh" she chuckled nervously.

Kali soon entered the room with a tray of cookies and scones. "already with the interrogation dear"

"I just curious as to what our daughter girlfriend does"

"Blake already mentioned she was huntress remember?" Kali shot a grin at her husband who gave a "yeah you're right" look. Then Ghira look towards Ruby and began to speak

"Ms. Rose Our daughter means a lot to us, she's our only child so you must understand our concerns."

Blake was about to facepalm but stopped when she heard Ruby.

"I know, She means a lot to me too. In fact, I don't think I would be here, where I am in my life, without her"

Ghira asked curiously "and where is that?"

"Happy, all I want to do is make her happy." Ruby then looked Bake in the eyes, then their hands, and squeezed back. She looked toward Blakes. "I love your daughter Mr. and Mrs. Belladonna and I promise you I'll do what I can to help protect her dreams!"

Blake moved leaned in and gave Ruby a kiss on the cheek cause Ruby to blush a bit as she went to take a cookie from the snack tray.

Ghira cleared his throat but stopped as he saw the young girl take a bite of the cookie, reminding him of a Younger Blake. (Perhaps she is worthy) he thought.

meanwhile, Kali leaned towards Blake and whispered "I really do like her!"

Blake gave a happy yet embarrassing "Mo~om"
