One week later.
"You kissed him you little hussy." Kelly said.
Kate was on the phone talking to her older sister as she was cleaning up a few things in the trainers room.
"Kel not helping." Kate said.
"How was it? I mean is he a better kisser than Seth? Katie I need details." Kelly chuckled.
"Kelly again you're not helping. I mean I did kind of cheat on Seth with that kiss do I tell him?"
"No listen Seth is on my shit list. He cheated on you Katie and is having a relationship with another woman. I think you get pass for kissing that hunk of a man." Kelly reasoned.
"Then why do I feel horrible? I mean don't get me wrong the kiss with Jon was hot but I still couldn't help but think that I was betraying Seth. What do I do Kel?" Kate asked as she sat on the stool in the trainers room looking around at the AEW sign that was on the wall.
"What do you want to do? Do you want to work it out with Seth? Can you trust him?"
"I wish I knew. I want to be able to trust him but something tells me he's still seeing Becky on the side. Which is my fault. I couldn't well I can't give him what he needs. I did run to Florida." Kate said looking down at her wedding ring.
"Kate that is a load of crap. Seth should have been man enough to come talk to you. If he wasn't happy or whatever his issue was he should have told you. Not ran to and sleep with another woman. I am so pissed at him." Kelly said.
"I know. I am just glad Dad was civil with him over Mania weekend. But we can't keep blaming just him. I am not innocent in this either." Kate said.
"Why because you kissed Mox? Katie listen was it right to make out with him probably not. But Seth clearly isn't given you what you need physically or emotionally. You told me you talked to him when he picked up the kids yesterday what did he say?"
"Not much at all this time. He was quiet which was weird because like I told you last week he had no trouble talking to me. Seth told me all about how much Becky was there for him and all she did for him."
"He just needs to man up. As far as Mox bring him home with you this weekend." Kelly said.
"Oh Kel I don't know." Kate hesitated.
"Don't back out you can't back out. It's Mom and Dad's wedding anniversary. Mom's been planning it for months. You have to come besides the kids want to see their cousins."
"I didn't say I wasn't coming Kelly you know I will be there. I just I can't bring Jon not like a date or anything."
"Why not you made out with him." Kelly chuckled. "You've even seen his ass."
"Hey that was for medical purposes and the kiss well that was nice I admit that. He is a hell of a kisser." She said biting her lip thinking about the night in the kitchen.
"So bring him. Ask if he wants to come meet the family. I know for damn sure Seth isn't showing up now so bring the friend. Then we can talk."
"I'll ask but if he says no I am not gonna push it any further."
"Alright well then I will see you Friday." Kelly said.
As Kate shook her head hanging up the phone a million thoughts were racing through her head. Was it a good idea to bring Jon Moxley home? What would it mean if she did? Kate's phone buzzed again with a text saying it was time for Moxley's promo and they wanted medical staff standing by. She headed out towards the back parking lot.
"Hey Kate are we alright?" Kenny asked coming over to her and putting his arm around her.
"Yes Kenny we are fine. Thank you for the drinks last week." She said as they kept walking.
"You know our night was interrupted maybe we can have a second chance?"
"Kenny you are a great guy but I am sorry this isn't gonna work out the way you think it is." Kate said being honest with him.
"It's because of Mox isn't it?" Kenny asked.
"Mox is part of it but the other part is I am still married so whatever you think is gonna happen isn't. I need to start figuring out what it is that I want. Like I said it's nothing personally you are a great guy but just not what I am looking for right now." Kate said as she walked away.
"Ouch Bro! That seemed kinda harsh." Adam said sipping his beer.
Kenny rolled his eyes. "I am twice the man Moxley is and that goes for Seth too. She'll see that." He said patting Adam Page on the back while he watched her walk away.
Kate stood off to the side with Bryce the head trainer as Moxley was coming up to Alex to get interviewed in the parking lot area.
"I am gonna be real honest with everyone. I am in a real bad mood. It's not just cuz how much my neck hurts and my back hurts and it hurts to sit on the toilet. That's got me on edge. But I'm really in a bad mood because I have little to no patients and time for people who run their mouth. When they have absolutely no idea what they're talking about. All week Taz has been telling anyone who will listen that Brian Cage is gonna beat me at Fyter Fest. Uh – huh. Well if he was trying to get under my skin IT WORKED! I can not WAIT for Fyter Fest! SO I can pop Brian Cage's head like a giant pimple and shut Taz up for good. Do know what separates me from the pack in AEW? I am one miserable son of a bitch. The fact that Brian Cage thinks he can beat me pisses me off. The fact that Taz thinks Brian Cage can beat me pisses me off. The mere idea that anybody in AEW or in this sport any where in the world could possible think they can beat me PISSES ME OFF! It's what drives me. It makes me train harder. It makes me hit harder. It makes me more violent, less apologetic. With all due respect Taz you are one of the great fast talkers of all time. But in this case … oh there he is right now." Jon said as he handed the belt to Alex as Taz came over to Moxley.
"What is the deal?" Taz said.
"Educate me!" Moxley said moving over towards him.
"Get this out of my face." Taz said to Alex pushing the mic out of his face.
"Educate me Taz." Moxley said as they were now face to face with one another.
"I am just over here in my trailer and all I hear is chirp chirp enough!" Taz said.
"Tell me what exactly is your boy gonna do to me?" Moxley said. As both men were talking over one another.
"Enough of this. Get your head right, get yourself right. Cause you are getting put out a Fyter Fest." Taz said.
"Oh is that right? He's gonna put me ..." Moxley said when all of a sudden Brian Cage ran up and took Moxley out from behind. He was tossing kicks and punches at him.
Brian then grabbed Moxley and tossed him hard into the steel barricade. Moxley clearly pissed tried to fight back getting in a few good punches as he shoved in him to a red car that was in the parking lot. When he glanced down and saw a metal pipe he grabbed it and aimed for Cage's head but he ducked and Moxley hit the car widow instead. Cage even more furious was still fighting and going after Moxley. Cage got the upper hand and gave Moxley a spine buster on the hood of the car.
Kate just shook her head knowing how much pain Moxley had been in the last week. She knew this wasn't good for his body.
When Cage grabbed Moxley again as Taz was now pleading with him to stop saying that he sent the message. Cage looked at Taz but then grabbed Moxley one last time and slammed him spin first in to the back window of the car. Kate cringed hearing Moxley yell and wince out in pain as the cameras continued to roll she bit her lip staring at Jon Moxley. Finally as the producer said "and we're clear". Kate wasted no time in rushing over to Moxley.
"Jon don't move." She said trying to check him out as he was trying to sit up.
"Kit careful." He growled in pain. "There is glass every where and you aren't wearing gloves."
"Would you stop moving then you stubborn ass." She said.
"Kit I'm good." He groaned standing up shaking off the glass clearly still feeling the affects of the being tossed like a rag doll into a car window.
"You are a shitty liar." She said as she grabbed her little flash light and started to check his pupil response and to see if there were any other injuries.
As Kenny Omega stood there and watched Kate start to treat Moxley. Kenny looked over at Cody.
"So is they why she's here? Mox needs his own personal medical piece of ass?" Kenny said to Cody.
"Omega that is out of line." He said.
"Cody just look at them. She's always the first one he goes to get checked out. You really don't think he's tapping that? Why do you think he pushed so hard for her to be here?" He said.
"Kate is good at her job. Her and Moxley are friends and honestly he doesn't give push back to her when she gives medical advice. So Omega just leave it a lone I mean it." Cody said.
As Omega shook his head as he continued to watch as Moxley wrapped his arm around Kate and they headed to the trainers room.
Later that night.
"Hey how you feeling?" Kate asked knocking on Mox's door as he was laying on his stomach watching something on TV.
"Like I was tossed into a car window." He growled.
"That's because your stupid ass was." She stated as she came in and got on the bed with him. Putting ice on his tail bone.
"DAMN that's cold." Moxley said as she put the ice on this tail bone.
"Sorry but you need to ice that."
"My ass? I need to ice my ass." He said shaking his head.
"Well to be more accurate it's your tail bone. But yeah we'll go with ass." She giggled as she had some muscle cream in her hand. "Do you mind?" She asked showing him.
"Have it at it." He said laying his head on the pillow all comfy.
Kate nodded as she put some on her hands and started slowly massaging it on his shoulder blades to start then massaging his spine. Moxley groaned a little.
"Sorry does this hurt?" She asked.
"No feels damn good." He said starting to relax.
"Good." She said as she continued.
"Just so you know I think Cage is an animal and the car spot was dumb." She stated.
"I know you told me twice tonight if I remember correctly. You called him a wild ape like man child then called me a stupid ass several times." He chuckled out loving her hands on him.
"Just so you know." Kate said with a little giggled.
"It's noted babe." He said as she kept staring at him.
"Can I ask you something? I mean you can say no and please don't feel obligated to say yes but umm you know how I am going home to South Carolina this weekend?" Kate rambled out a little nervous.
"Yeah?" Moxley chuckled at how nervous she was.
"I was wondering if you would maybe want to come with me and the kids?" She asked him as he turned his head and looked into her eyes.
"You want me to come home to South Carolina with you?"
"Only if you want to. I mean you've done so much for me and the kids the last few weeks I thought I would extend the offer. Free food and from what my sister said open bar."
"Beautiful woman? Free food and an open bar? Who can say no?" He chuckled.
"So does this mean it's a yes?"
"Sure should be fun." He smiled slowly sitting up and looking into her eyes his hand touched her face softly.
She bit her lip getting lost in his eyes. The moment was interrupted by her phone going off.
"You could ignore that." Moxley said.
"I could but what if it's Seth about the kids?" Kate said as she reached into her back pocket and grabbed her phone.
Her heart sank when she saw what she was tagged in on Twitter and Instagram. Moxley instantly knew something wasn't right based on the look on Kate's face.
"Kit what's wrong?" Moxley asked as she turned her phone to him.
"Seth Rollins cheats on wife with Becky Lynch. Kate Rollins leaves WWE for AEW!" Moxley read out loud. "How the fuck did they know all that. I thought you've been really careful."
"I thought we had been too. Seth and I agreed to keep this quiet until we figured out what to do. But I guess someone leaked it to the damn dirt sheets." She said feeling like her heart was breaking all over again. As she couldn't stop herself and she started reading the article as there were a few photos. One of her and Seth. Then one of Seth and Becky.
"When do you think this one was taken?" Kate asked showing the photo to Mox.
"That's Orlando right? Had to of been with in the last week I would think looking at Seth's hair and he was wearing that shirt last week when he dropped the kids off." Moxley said.
Kate just nodded as she stood up and walked away.
"Kit you can talk to me." Moxley said.
"I know I just need a minute." She said going into her room.
As she sat on the bed she went through a few of her pictures before finding one of her holding Ella and Jaxon's hands walking on the beach. Moxley had taken from behind. She smiled at that photo and started typing as she was posting the photo and a statement to Instagram.
"It hurts when the person that you loved suddenly becomes just someone that you knew. It hurts so much more when you watch your life being ruined by the person that you love and trust the most. And you cannot do anything about it.
It has been brought to my attention that some personal issues are now public. At this time I am no longer working for the WWE and have signed a contract with AEW as their medical assistant. That is all I will confirm right now. I know people are going to speculate on what is and has occurred in my personal life. But for now that is no ones business. I have always been fairly quiet on social media only posting things that enlighten and lift people up. No need for harsh and cruel words. Even when my heart is breaking at my new reality. I will continue to take the high road. I ask that you respect our privacy for the sake of my children and myself as we work on mending relationships and healing broken hearts.
