The Next Day.

"He's cute Katie." Kelly said as she was fixing her hair in the mirror. Talking about Jon Moxley. "He was so helpful setting everything up today. Between him and Lane they got all the lights hung up and the tables set."

"Jon is an amazing guy and so helpful. And you're right he's no ugly duck that is for sure." Kate smiled as she was fixing Ella's hair.

"Mommy tan I wears yours make tup?" Ella asked all smiles.

"Just a little blush and some lip stick deal?" Kate smiled her daughter's smile melted her heart.

"Ohtay." She giggled sitting on the stool as Kate was putting on a little make up.

"So have you two ya know yet?" Kelly asked as she was then fixing Willow her daughters hair.

"Kel Oh my goss. No we haven't done that and we haven't eve since I told you about it." Kate said shaking her head.

"Umm why the hell not?" Kelly asked.

"OH Mommy that's a bad word." Willow said looking at her Mom.

"I know sorry Willow. Mommy is just trying to figure your Aunt Katie out." Kelly said to her. "Now spill why not?"

"Because I can't do that to Seth. I would be lying if I said I haven't thought about it. I mean the night before we left Florida he came in from a work out and he was shirtless dripping wet with sweat my heart about stopped." Kate admitted. "But I had to remind myself that I am still married to Seth and I can't be that woman I can't cheat on my husband even if Seth has still been with Becky."

"Tell me he hasn't? Is he still with her?" Kelly asked.

"He says he's not and only has seen her at work. But I saw a photo of them on line and Jon said he thinks it was taken the day that Seth had the kids."

"Have you asked the kids?" She asked.

"I don't want to put them in the middle it's not fair to them to get over run with questions." Kate said finishing the blush on Ella's face. "There my perfect little princess."

"I wooks petty now wike you Mommy." Ella beamed.

"You always look beautiful you don't need make up." Kate smiled kissing her cheek.

"Ella can Aunt Kelly ask you something and you tell her the truth?" Kelly asked bending down to Ella's level.

"Kel you don't have too." Kate said looking at her sister.

"It's fine Kate don't worry Ella can I?" She asked again.

"Yeah." Ella said looking at her Aunt.

"When you were with your Daddy was there another woman with him? Was Becky with him?"

"No. It was just me, Daddy and Jax. But he did talks to her on the phone."

"Thank you princess that is all I needed to know. How about you and Ella go see if Grammy OK?" Kelly smiled.

As both little girls giggled, Willow grabbed her cousins hand as they ran out of the room.

"Well that answers that. He hasn't brought her around the kids but he's been talking to her on the phone. The asshole." Kelly said shaking her head. "When I see him I am gonna punch him."

"Well you can't do that. Don't want to ruin Mom and Dad's party." Kate said as she was finishing up her make up.

"Wait he's coming here?" Kelly asked as she stopped putting on her lip stick and looked at her sister.

"Yeah. Apparently Mom invited him his plane landed a little bit ago and he'll be here soon."

"What was Mom thinking?" Kelly groaned as she turned her attention back on the mirror.

"Mom is thinking that I need to make this marriage work. As much as she's mad at him for what he did she thinks I need to work this out with him. I can tell she's not a fan of Jon and wants me to work it out with Seth." Kate said sitting on the bed and putting on her shoes.

"What do you really want Kate? Do you want to work it out with Seth or do you want Jon?" Kelly asked.

"I am attracted to Jon I am. But I owe it to the kids to figure out where Seth and I stand before I do anything else. That is all I know for now." Kate said.

"Mommy!" Jaxon said toddling into the room in his little shorts white shirt and suspenders.

"Hi my little man! Look how cute you look." Kate smiled picking him up and giving him kisses.

"He didn't want to put the bow tie on." Jon said coming into the room wearing a nice pair of jeans and a tight black shirt.

"Jon you are looking handsome as usually today. Isn't he Kate." Kelly smiled.

Kate blushed. "You do look nice."

"Thanks. I wasn't sure how fancy and well you know I am not one to dress up so I hope this is nice enough." Jon said rubbing the back of his neck.

"It's perfect. Thanks for getting Jaxon ready and it's OK I knew he wouldn't wear the tie but the suspenders are super cute." Kate smiled.

Later that evening.

The party was in full swing the guests were enjoying food and drinks. The kids were running around playing in the yard with each other. As Jon was nursing a beer talking with Lane Kate's brother in law. Kate was sitting with her sister and sister in law Leslie.

"How are you feeling Les?" Kate asked.

"Pregnant." She laughed.

"I remember those days." Kelly chuckled.

"Well you look great. Have you thought about any names?" Kate asked.

"Aspen." She smiled.

"Awe I love it. Is Skylar excited to have a little sister?"

"Oh so excited. Ethan is excited but I know he wants a boy. He's already talking the next one. I was like give me a minute will ya." Les said shaking her head.

"It must be a man thing." Kelly said. "I am glad those days are over for me."

"You aren't having any more kids Kel?" Les asked her.

"Oh no. Lane and I are done. He got the snip last year after a pregnancy scare. Three is good for us. Two boys and girl." Kelly said.

"I didn't know that." Les said as she sipped her water. "I swear Ethan wants a damn football team."

"He's here." Kelly said as she noticed Seth coming into the back yard his hair was back in a nice neat man bun. He was wearing a nice black pants and white dress up shirt with nice shoes.

"Guess I should go greet him." Kate said taking a deep breathe grabbing her drink and going towards Seth.

"Hey baby! You look amazing." He smiled seeing his wife in a white short summer mini dress.

"Thanks. Not bad yourself." She said as Seth pulled her into a hug.

"I've missed you so much." He said looking into her eyes and kissing her lips softly.

"I know the kids missed you. Jax is hanging with my Dad and Ella is over playing with the other kids." Kate said sipping her drink.

"I missed them too." Seth smiled. "Just glad I was invited I thought I was on your parent's shit list."

"It was my moms idea. Seems she thinks there is still hope." Kate stated sipping more of her drink.

"What about you Katie? Do you think there is hope?" Seth asked touching her face.

"I don't know. I thought there was but then you told me you were in love with another woman. Look I promise we can talk and I mean that really talk about this. But let's just enjoy my parents party. Would you like a drink?" She asked.

"Yeah sounds perfect baby." Seth said walking over towards the bar with her. As Kelly just glared at Seth as they walked past.

"Your sister doesn't seem to thrilled I am here." Seth whispered to her.

"She's not that happy with you. But don't worry she agreed not to punch you." Kate smiled trying to joke.

Seth chuckled he missed her smile but his smile fell the closer they got to the bar when he noticed Jon was talking to Lane.

"What the hell is he doing here Kate?" Seth asked motioning towards Jon.

"He is my friend and my Dad invited him." She said as they reached the bar.

"Seth." Jon said tilting his bottle towards him acknowledging his presents.

"Jon." Seth said through gritted teeth. "Lane been awhile how are you?"

"Just fine Seth yourself?" Lane asked glancing at Jon and then towards Seth.

"Good just been working."

Lane nodded as he sipped his beer.

"Seth! I am so glad you made it. How was your flight?" Lynnette said coming over to him and giving him a hug.

"It was fine Mom thanks." He smiled into the hug.

"You must be starving. Katie did you offer him anything to eat?" Lynnette asked.

"Just asked if he wanted a drink." Kate said handing him the drink.

"You must eat and tell me all about how you plan on getting that title back from that big old beast." Lynnette smiled taking Seth's arm and leading him towards the food. "Katie you coming?"

"I'll let you two catch up." Kate said ordering another drink.

"How you doing Kit?" Moxley asked moving a little closer to her.

"Fine. I am sorry he's here I didn't think he would show up." Kate said getting her drink and taking a sip.

"No need to be sorry babe. I get it he's your husband so he is still family." He said drinking his beer.

"I did tell him that we would talk." Kate said sipping more of her drink.

"That's good you need to talk and figure this out Kit. I respect that." Moxley said. "But I have to say you are looking really sexy in this dress." He said.

"You say that to all the ladies." She joked.

"Just the ones I like." He winked.

"Kate Lynn?" An older woman said coming over to her and Jon.

Kate turned around to see Tracey the mother to her ex- boyfriend Trent standing there.

"Mrs. Forester how … how are you?" Kate asked feeling her chest tighten a little bit as Brock Trent's father came over as well.

"We are alright. Umm we were just wondering if you thought about giving a statement for Trent's parole hearing?" She asked.

"What hearing?" Kate asked her chest feeling even tighter as it was getting a little harder to breath.

"Trent's up or Parole in a few weeks. A letter from his lawyer was sent to you. They are asking if you would write a statement on his behalf." Brock stated.

"Who is that talking to Kate?" Seth asked looking over that way.

"Oh no." Lynnette said. "That's Trent's parents."

With those words Seth got up and headed towards the bar. But before he could get there Ridge stopped him and handing Jaxon too him.

"I've got this take the kids inside." Ridge stated.

Seth nodded and did what his father in law asked and went over to get Ella before heading inside.

"Tracey, Brock how is the food? The drinks to you satisfaction?" Ridge asked.

"Yes Ridge always top notch here at the Callaway's." Brock said.

"Glad you are enjoying it. We are teaching Jon here how to party South Carolina style. Ain't that right Jon?"

"Yes Sir it's been a pleasure. Just can't have to many of those Mint juleps." He joked.

"You'll learn son." Ridge smiled patting his back.

"So Kate Lynn back to our little chat?" Brock said.

"What chat?" Ridge asked.

"We were just having a little chat here with Katie about helping out our boy." Tracey said.

"Excuse me I really should go check on my kids." Kate said as she walked away as she headed for the house. Ridge motioned for Jon to go with her and he didn't hesitate to do so.

"Brock I told you if you were gonna come today not to talk about Trent or the hearing to my daughter. I don't think she even knew about it." Ridge said.

"I am not sure why she wouldn't. I know Trent's lawyer sent it to her." Tracey said.

"She's not been home. She was vacationing in Florida. Tracey you told me you weren't gonna say anything to her." Lynnette said.

"I know but when I saw her I just wanted to see if she had at least thought about it."

Kate got into the house she began pacing the living room trying to catch her breathe. Trent was someone she never wanted to see again. He destroyed her life almost killed Seth and now he was partly the reason her marriage was crumbling.

"Kit?" Moxley said softly coming into the room. With out even thinking about it Kate wrapped her arms around him as he held her close. "Just breathe babe. Just breathe." He said calming as he was rubbing her back.

"She alright?" Seth asked through gritted teeth.

"I think so. She hasn't said anything to me." He said.

"Jon can you give us a minute please?" Seth asked.

"I don't think that's a good idea right now." Moxley said.

"Jon I am not gonna make a scene in front of my kids but I just want to talk to my wife." Seth stated.

Kate took a few more deep breathes before letting go of Jon and looking at both men.

"It's alright Jon. I think Seth and I do need to talk. Thank you for everything if you want you can take the kids out to get them some ice cream." Kate said.

"Yeah of course. We'll talk later." Moxley said as he grabbed Ella and Jaxon and headed back down stairs. When he left the room Seth looked at his wife.

"How can they let him out? How can they even think about letting him out?" She blurted out.

"Trent?" Seth said softly.

"Yeah his parents just told me that they are having some hearing in a few weeks. Actually asked me to write a damn letter no happening." Kate said. "Did we get a letter?"

"I don't know we haven't actually been home lately." Seth said softly.

"Yeah." Kate said softly feeling like all her recent mistakes were finally catching up with her.

"Kate Lynn we know this was gonna happen at some point. He didn't get the maximum sentence." Seth stated taking her hand.

"I know but I guess I didn't think it would be so soon. He can't get out Seth. I just don't think we can trust him." She said holding Seth's hand. "What the hell are we gonna do?"

"Let's just go enjoy the rest of your parents party. Then tomorrow we go home. We go home to our lovely home in Iowa. We'll see if we got any letter and we'll figure that out. But we need to go home together. We need to work on us Kate Lynn on being a family." Seth said as he pulled her closer to him and kissed her lips softly.
