Chapter Sixteen: Name

Page peeked into the large pub. Pirates sat around every table, laughing yelling, and swordfighting. He inched into the shop. This was going to be interesting.

He walked quickly over to the bartender. The man had an open white shirt and a chubby face. He was clearly drunk. Page cleared his throat once... twice... finally he pressed a bag of coins onto the table. The man immediately snapped to Page. His eyes were wild and unfocused. He gave a lopsided grin.

"What can I get fer you laddy?" Page raised an eyebrow. He was clearly too young to be drinking.. but then again he was in a pirate town. There probably wasn't an age where you were too young to be drinking here. Page shook his head and tried to yell over the noise.

"Have you given a drink to a woman named Alimia?!" The bartender shrugged.

"I dunno. Sure." Page pulled the bag of money back into his pocket.

"Oh, ok." The bartender looked longingly at where Page had put the bag. He sighed.

"Fur some money I might remember.." Page rolled his eyes, of course he needed a bribe. Pirates. Page threw the bag onto the table.

"Name your price." the bartender grinned, revealing a few golden teeth.

"Ten pieces of eight." Page nodded and pushed the entire bag his way. The bartender reached out greedily but Page smacked his hand away.

"My information first, sir." the man sighed and pointed over to the far left corner. Page nodded and nearly ran through the crowd to get to the back corner. In a moment the drunk man would do one of two things.

1) take another swig of rum and forget the entire conversation.

or

2) Open the bag and find it full of tiny sand dollars that sounded slightly like coins when thrown together.

Page hoped for the first option. But in case the second happened, he wanted to be as far away as possible before the pirate found out.

He pushed through groups of people untill he made it to the back corner. He looked around, no one unusual... then his eyes landed on someone. They wore a black hooded cloak that almost blended into the dark corner. In their hand was a small cup of what looked like wine.

Wine cost money... pirates all drank rum, because it was cheap. This person was different. He approached the hooded figure. And he prayed that his instincts were right.

"Excuse me, what's your name?" Alimia looked up to the short Blonde boy. He reminded her of someone. She raised an eyebrow.

"Do I know you?" The boy shook his head and held out his hand.

"Nope. But I'm assuming you're Miss Alimia Goulding?" Alimia's hand tightened around the tiny wine glass. How did this kid know her? She looked around. Behind them was a door out into an alleyway. She motioned for him to follow. Then she darted out of the tight pub. As soon as the door closed behind the boy she turned, pulling out her sword. She placed the tip lightly on his neck. He stiffened and backed up against the brick wall. She smiled, again the situation was in control.

"How do you know who I am?" the boy swallowed hard.

"You know my father you owe him a favor." She pressed the blade slightly harder. His breath accelerated. She smiled.

"I don't owe anyone anything. Now what are your last words?" the boy looked her straight in the eyes.

"My father is William Turner." Alimia dropped the sword. And the boy rubbed his neck. Giving her the stink eye. The world spun.

"No. Y-you're..." the last word was nearly a whisper. "You're dead." The boy cocked his head. He looked pretty alive, but that was impossible...

"I don't think I'm dead. Though if I am I must be in Davy Jones locker. My life is a mess!" he gave a short laugh then extended his hand. "My name is Page." Alimia looked into the boys eyes.

"Your name is Page? Really? Wow." He frowned.

"What's wrong with my name?" She grinned, he hadn't realized.

"You know your name is literally page turner right?" Page looked confused.

"Yeah, that's what I said my name wa-... Oh no.. Oh NO!!" Allimia burst into laughter. Page put his head in his hands. "Page Turner. My life is a page turner. Oh no.." He groaned, but when he saw Alimia laughing against the opposite wall, he eventually joined in.

Ok, yes I did do that intentionally. And I'm very proud of it. Thanks for reading!!
