A few days later.
"I heard you telling Mom that you think you may have found a place in Florida?" Kelly asked her sister.
"I think so. It's a rental house. It's three beds room. Kinda small and cozy. But the kids would have their own rooms and bathroom. Also it does have a small yard the kids can play in. So that is a bonus. Right my little man." Kate smiled bopping Jaxon's nose.
He was sitting in the cart as they were shopping at the grocery store.
"That's great. But are you ready for that?" Kelly asked.
"Yeah. We can't stay with Mom and Dad much longer." Kate said continue to put a few things in the cart.
"Why? They love having you and the kids there." Kelly said.
"I know they do. Ella is at work with Dad right now. He loves showing off the grand kids. But for me you know I just can't stay long. Mox said the rental was listed at a good price and asked the owner to fix a few repairs he found." Kate said.
"OOO Mox huh?" Kelly giggled.
"Kel please." Kate said.
"Katie come on you can't tell me there is nothing going on with the two of you. I noticed it at Mom and Dad's party. Not to mention he lives in Vegas but he stayed in Jacksonville a few extra days with you to not only look at a few listings. But make sure repairs are being made. He's into you. Oh and we can't forget that fact that you have kissed him not only once but twice now. Or is it three times because you did sleep in his bed." Kelly grinned looking at her sister.
"Kelly Mox is just a friend. Right now that is all I can handle. I am not even thinking about a relationship. I can't … I am basically starting my life over with two kids. Mox doesn't want that. He is just getting out of a marriage as well we just get one another."
"So friends with benefits?" Kelly smiled.
"I just really don't want to talk about it." Kate said as they were heading down one of the last aisles of the store.
"Did you sleep with him and didn't tell me?" Kelly said way to excited.
"Goss Kelly! No I didn't sleep with him. Not that I didn't think about it and I really think he wanted to but I just couldn't do it. I am still married to Seth. Also I am not ready to be that intimate with another person yet." Kate said grabbing a box of pull ups for Jaxon.
"I get it Katie. But listen Seth clearly moved on when you were still married. He's having a baby with another woman. So I think you get a pass if you want to sleep with Mox. A word of advice don't over think it just go with what feels right. I know he really cares about you and these kids." Kelly said as they were heading towards the check out.
"I care about him too. But I just don't know if I can open myself up to a relationship. Seth did some damage. He was the one man I thought would never hurt me. I am not perfect and I made some bad choices after Trent. But when Seth and I finally got together it felt right. He gave me the life I never thought I could have. What I thought was a happy marriage and two amazing kids. But I wasn't enough for him. He needed someone else. That's what hurts Kelly and if I wasn't enough for Seth Rollins then what makes me think I would be enough for Jon Moxley?" Kate said walking away from her sister and getting in the check out line.
When she felt like someone was staring at her she looked around but didn't see anyone she knew or that was really staring at her. She shook off the feeling and started to place things on the belt.
After they both checked out they put the stuff in the car then headed home. Jaxon was in the back drinking his juice and almost falling asleep. Kate smiled looking back at her son.
"Listen I didn't mean to upset you in the store. I am just saying that if Seth can be with Becky then you should be free to be with Jon. If and ONLY if you want to and are ready. I just want my little sister happy." Kelly said.
"I know thanks Kelly. I think I need time to figure this all out. The first step is to talk to a lawyer and start the divorce. There really is no fixing my marriage at this point." Kate said looking in the rear view mirror as she got that feeling like some one was following her.
"Something wrong?" Kelly asked looking in the mirror.
"Do you know that Red mustang following us?" Kate asked her eyes back on the road then looked up in the mirror again.
"No? Should I?" Kelly asked.
"It's been following us since the store. Just got a weird vibe." She said.
"Doesn't look like anyone I know. It's probably someone from out of town." Kelly said.
As Kate looked again and the car was gone before she turned down the road to head back to her parents house.
Later that evening.
After dinner the kids were running around the yard playing with Ridge.
"Poppa you tan't det me I fast." Ella giggled as her grandfather was chasing her. Jaxon right behind him.
"I det you." He said.
Kate smiled loving this feeling of just being home and seeing her dad interacting with her children. Something she never got tired of seeing. As her phone went off she glanced down and for about a half second she thought about not answering it.
"Hello?" Kate said answering the phone.
"Hi Katie. How are you?" Seth said on the phone.
"I am fine. You?" She asked.
"I am good. Just wanted to make sure it was still cool if I came to South Carolina tomorrow. I want to see the kids and well you." Seth said.
"I know the kids would like that they really miss you." She told him as she was watching the kids running around.
"I miss them so much. Kate I miss you too."
"Didn't think you would have time to miss me considering you've been in LA for the last week." Kate said trying not to let that bother her.
"It wasn't like that I…."Seth hesitated to find the right words to say.
"Seth I saw pictures of you and Becky hiking in LA. You had to know they would be posted all over social media when you stopped and posed with a couple fans. Not to mention being spotted at the coffee shop you like. Don't play me for a fool Seth."
"Kate baby please can we just talk tomorrow? I think we just really need to talk this out." Seth said.
"Not sure what we have left to say. You got another woman pregnant. I don't think I can just look the other way and try to have a life with you. So you need to really think about things Seth." Kate said. "I will have the kids ready when you get here." She said hanging up the phone.
"Hey Babe. You seemed stressed." A raspy voice said as they touched her lower back.
Kate signed relief feeling that calm strong touch.
"Mox." She said turning around and not thinking twice hugging him as he wrapped his arms around her.
"What did that shit head want?" He asked in her ear still holding her close to him.
"He is coming to see the kids tomorrow. Wait what are you doing here? I thought I was meeting you in Florida Tuesday?"
"Well I thought this would be more fun. Besides when I was texting you early I was half way here." He grinned.
"You are being a little sneaky Mr. Moxley."
"I have my moments." He said cocky. "You looked stressed how about we go out to dinner tonight. Just the two of us?"
"Oh I don't know." Kate hesitated looking over at the kids.
"I am sure the kids wont mind. I think you need this. Besides I already asked your Mom if she could watch them. She agreed so really no excuses." He grinned.
"Well didn't you just think of everything." Kate smiled.
"MY MOXY!" Ella yelled running over to Jon as he scooped her up in his arms.
"Hi my peanut."
"Why you here?" She giggled touching his beard.
"I had to come see my little peanut and the Jax man." He smiled and Ella giggled.
"Dat me and my brover." Ella smiled at Jon.
"Two of the coolest kids I know." Jon smiled back at her little face.
"Hi Jon." Ridge said extending out his hand to him.
"Hi Mr. Callaway. Sorry to just show up unannounced." Jon said shaking his hand.
"Good heavens I told you call me Ridge. Like I said before you before son you are always welcome here." Ridge smiled.
Kate smiled as she was now holding Jaxon who laid his head on his Mom.
"You getting tired Mr. Man?" Kate said to him.
He didn't say anything he just yawned.
"I can take him in and put him to bed. Gotta soak in all the time with them before you move out." Ridge joked. "Ella sweetie want to help me then we can have our snack?"
"Yeah Poppa I big I help. But shhh we not tell Mommy and Mox about the ice ceam." She said putting her little finger to her lip.
"Right. Shhh our secrete." He winked as he took the kids inside.
"Can you tell my Dad spoils those kids." Kate smiled.
"They deserve it. So how about that dinner?" Moxley asked again.
Kate finally agreed as went and got ready quickly. She did a quick make up job, then tossed on a simple pair of jeans that hugged her hips in all the right places. A black halter top like tank top with a pair of cute opened toed heels.
Jon chose a restaurant about 40 minutes away in the next town. They were just enjoying their evening with a nice dinner and talking. Kate felt so comfortable talking to Jon about anything and everything. Sometimes she would open up about Seth and Jon would about his ex. But then they would joke around about something the Elite did at work or just talk about nothing at all.
"So Seth is coming tomorrow to get the kids huh?" Moxley asked as he didn't even realize he was holding her hand in his rubbing it softly with his thumb.
"Yeah. I know the kids miss him so it will be good for them to spend time together. But I think he's a little mad because I said I didn't want them in Orlando this time." Kate confessed.
"Why?" Mox asked seeing the look in Kate's eyes.
"I just want them close to my parents. Until we figure this out and I official move to Jacksonville. I want them to have some comfort and not be traveling all the time. I need my kids to be safe."
"Kate you know I think Seth is a shit head. But I know for a fact he wouldn't let anything happen to those kids. You know that I wouldn't either."
"I know. It's just I can't shake this feeling." Kate said opening up to him.
"What feeling babe?"
"It's nothing. Just me being in my feels I guess. So much has happened in the last few months it's hard to process. But hey how about we get some Ice Cream. There is a local little shop around the corner." Kate smiled.
Jon smiled too as he paid the bill and took her hand. She didn't hesitate to take it as they walked out of the restaurant.
"Katie?"
Jon could feel Kate tense up.
"Trent what are you doing here?" Kate said moving close to Jon.
"I was just having a nice dinner. When I thought I saw you. You are looking amazing. How you are doing? I hadn't heard from you."
"She's fine." Jon stated. "I am only gonna tell you once man stop contacting my girl or I will beat the shit out of you." Jon stated with anger in his voice. It was almost like he was giving one of his Moxley type promos but Kate could feel how tense he was.
"Down boy. Just wanted to say Hi to an old friend. I'll see ya around." Trent smirked as he took the hand of the blonde woman he was with and walked away.
"Babe look at me are you alright?Still want that ice cream?" Jon asked touching her cheek softly.
"No. I just want to go home to the kids." Kate stated.
They didn't say anything in the car. Jon could see the fear on Kate's face. As he held her hand he knew he would stop any nothing to make sure her and the kids stayed safe.
Kate felt a wave of nausea come over her. Her life was falling apart. Her marriage was crumbling in front of her eyes. The one man she never wanted to see again popped back into her life out of no where.
Kate held tight to Jon's hand as she felt helpless to stop the chaos that was surrounding her.
