The Next Morning.
Jon hadn't slept at all the night before. All he could think about was Kate and where she was. He could hear Jaxon and Ella asking Lynnette over and over where their mom was and it was breaking his heart.
"Did you get any sleep at all last night?" Seth asked coming out of one of the bed rooms.
"No and I don't see how you could either. Your wife is missing and you are acting like you don't give a shit. I don't even know who the hell you are any more." Moxley said drinking his coffee.
"Right says the man who divorced his wife as soon as my marriage was on the rocks. I know you've always had a thing for Kate. Conveniently your marriage started to have trouble when mine did. Kate's never gonna give you what you want. We are gonna get back together so why even try Mox huh?" Seth said looking at his phone.
"You don't know shit about me or my marriage. Renee is the one who cheated on me but you already know that don't you. Hell all of WWE knew because she didn't even try to hide it and it just so happened to be with several men there." Moxley said glancing at Seth. "Guess it's just a WWE thing sleeping around when married. How is Becky any way?"
"Don't worry about Rebekah. She's fine." Seth scoffed.
"I am sure she is. Bet she's moving to Iowa too." Moxley said rolling his eyes.
"You really are an ass aren't you? I'll be back." He said looking at his phone.
"Where the hell are you going?" He asked.
"Coffee found a good place a few blocks away." Seth said grabbing his keys and leaving.
"Ass." Moxley said watching him leave.
"Was that Seth? Where is he running off too?" Ridge asked coming into the kitchen pouring himself some coffee.
"Coffee run. He's kinda a coffee snob." Moxley said.
"I do remember that about him." Ridge said. "Did you sleep at all last night Jon?"
"No I laid on the couch and just wished for my phone to ring. Any word from your friend the cop?" He asked.
"Not yet but I was going to give him a call. See what we do from here since it's been 24 hours we need to get the police officially involved."
"Agreed." Jon said watching as Ridge pulled out his phone and called his friend.
Jon didn't know what was being said on the other end but he knew it wasn't going to be the best news.
"What? What did he say?" Jon asked the second Ridge got off the phone.
"They found her car. It was in the parking garage at the air port in Charleston." Ridge said.
"Looks like we are going to South Carolina." Jon stated.
With Kate.
"Good Morning sweet pea." Trent smiled coming into the room with a tray of food. "I know you must be starving."
"I am starting to feel my legs again." She said sitting up slowly. Then looking at the food he placed in front of her.
"Katie listen you know this is not how I wanted this to go. When I reached out to you I thought you would be more willing to talk to me. You didn't even even say thank you for the flowers. When I heard that your marriage wasn't doing well. I admit that made me happy. Knowing I was right about Seth, he was never good enough for my sweet pea. Really thought that meant you'd give me another chance. But then I saw you with him." Trent growled.
"Him? Who?" Kate asked.
"Jon." Trent said clenching his fist. "I saw you together in Florida and then in South Carolina. Why him? After Seth broke your heart. Why go down that road again with another loser of a wrestler? When he touched you it made my blood boil. I knew I was running out of time and had to make my move. You didn't make it that hard when I saw your car leave your parents house I followed you several miles then a flat tire. You got out and before you knew it you were limp in my arms. Did you know you can buy almost any type of drug on line these days? Katie listen I don't want to hurt you just let me love you like you deserve to be loved."
"Trent if you truly love someone you don't need to drug them or give them muscle relaxers so they wont move. This isn't the way to show me how much you love me." Kate said.
"Sorry sweet pea. I just know you wouldn't come with me willingly. So prove to me you can be trusted and I wont drug you up any more." He said taking her hand and kissing it.
It took everything in Kate not to flinch. Over the course of her sleepless night she knew the only one way to get out of this alive. She needed to earn Trent's trust.
"Trent I do have to use the bathroom can you help me?" She asked rubbing his hand.
"Of course." Trent smiled.
While Trent was helping her to the bathroom Kate began to look around the room. She was more alert than yesterday and glanced at the window that had a dark curtain over it.
"I can do the rest." Kate said.
Trent nodded as he waited for her by the bathroom door as she did her business she looked out the little bathroom window. She realized she was still in South Carolina. When she was finished washing her hands, Trent helped her over to the bed.
"Eat up Sweet pea. You are gonna need your energy later. Our first official date." He smiled.
She faked a smile and slowly starting eating. Trent smiled watching her before leaving the room. Kate kept telling herself to remain calm and earn his trust. She vowed to herself she was going to get out of this alive and back to her family.
Later that evening.
"That's Kate's car." Jon said rushing over the car.
They had driven back to South Carolina dropped Lynnette and the kids off at home. Then headed right to the airport. Meeting their Mark McBride the chief of police in their area.
"Thanks for meeting us here. I know this is out of your distinction." Ridge said shaking his old friends hand.
"It's alright. I contacted local police and told them we would be looking at this car. You remember my son Walker?"
"I do. Nice to see you again it's been awhile. Working as a police officer now huh?" Ridge said.
"Figured it was time to get on the right side of the law. Ya know after Katie, Cole and I borrowed that tractor from old man Gibson." Walker chuckled.
"You kids were something else." Ridge said with a half a smile.
"Listen Mr. Callaway we will do whatever we can to get Kate home safe." Walker said.
Ridge nodded as he noticed Jon and Seth both looking at the car.
"You two didn't touch anything yet did you?" Mark asked.
Both men shook their heads no.
"Good. We ran her plate and it showed up here. I have asked to see if she got on a plane and just waiting for confirmation because it seems a woman matching her description did get on a plane yesterday. Headed for the Bahamas." Mark explained.
"That doesn't make any sense. Katie wouldn't just leave her kids or her job." Jon stated with anger in his voice.
"Was she under unusual stress or acting odd in any way?"
"She is currently in the process of starting a divorce." Ridge stated glaring at Seth. "Why does that matter?"
"Sorry Ridge just standard questions. Trying to peace it all together. If she did get on this plane it sounds like it was willingly. If that is the case their isn't much we can do."
"This is bullshit!" Jon stated. "Kate wouldn't just leave like that not with out telling me. She would never abandon the kids willingly. Seth come on man you know that."
"Jon man I don't know that. Not really." Seth said softly.
"What the hell is wrong with you You mother fucking ass hole." Jon growled getting closer to Seth.
"Boys stop! Jon's right Kate wouldn't leave with out those babies. Seth deep down you know that. I know thinking the worst is hard but right now that is all I can think about. So Mark, Walker what do we do now?" Ridge asked.
"I am gonna look through her car." Walker said. "My Dad is gonna inside and see what he can find out about the woman matching her description."
While Walker was going through Kate's car. Jon glared at Seth.
"Bro it's taking everything I have not to punch you right now. You claim you still love Kate but you don't seem that worried about her. Why Seth is it because you've already started over with Becky?." Jon growled.
"I love Kate. But just because I am not a hot head like you Jon doesn't mean I don't care about my wife and the mother of my kids. I am terrified for her. But honestly I would rather have her leave on her own then think the worst right now. So you freaking out on me isn't helping." He stated.
"Unbelievable. Yet totally believable." Jon said.
"Why are you even here? She's my wife and mother of my kids. You are just what are you Jon huh?" Seth said.
"Then start acting like it." Jon said shaking his head.
"Found something." Walker said holding up Kate's phone.
"That's Katie's phone. She wouldn't leave with out that." Seth stated.
Jon rolled his eyes at Seth finally agreeing with him. When they noticed Mark coming back with his Ipad in hand.
"This is video of them boarding the flight." He said showing them all the video.
"Is that Kate?" Walker asked pointing.
"That's not Kate. Look at her lower back the shirt is riding up and there is no scar." Jon said.
"Jon's right. Kate has a few scars down her back this woman doesn't." Seth agreed.
"Wait … I think I know her. Damn it." Jon said.
"What? What is it?" Mark asked Jon.
"Do you have a picture of that woman's face?" Jon asked.
Mark touched tapped the Ipad a few times and then they could see the front of the woman.
"I knew it. That isn't Kate. This woman was with Trent a few nights ago when we went to dinner. He came up to us and said he just wanted to say HI. When he left this is the woman he held hands with." Jon stated.
"You sure?" Walker asked.
"Fairly sure. They look a lot a like but I know this woman isn't Katie." Jon said pointing to the screen.
"Yeah that's not my wife." Seth said.
"Also she is wearing a wig to make her hair look darker. See it's not even that good of a one you can see it." Walker pointed out.
"Good eye." Mark said.
"Looks like we have our first lead." Walker stated.
With Kate.
As Kate looked at herself in the mirror. She was wearing a long red strapless dress. She had her hair and make up done. This actually reminded her of the outfit she wore on prom night a long time ago. Kate had tried to get out of this room most of the day after Trent had left her. But she was locked in. She didn't know what Trent's plan was but she knew deep down it wasn't good.
"Wow sweet pea you look amazing." Trent smiled coming in after unlocking the door. He was holding a corsage. "Here this is for you." He said putting it on her wrist.
"It's beautiful. Thank you." She said being as calm and polite as possible.
"Ready for your surprise?" He smiled.
Kate didn't say anything she just smiled as Trent took her hand and lead her down stairs. The down stairs had been transformed into prom with decorations and a table with candles set for two. Music playing in the back ground.
"Remind you of anything?" Trent smiled pulling out her chair as Katie sat down.
"Prom." She said softly.
"Yes. I wanted to recreate that night for you, for us. That night changed our lives and I regret every moment of that. So tonight is our fresh start. Our new beginning. Starting with dinner, dancing and then creating a new life together." Trent said moving closer to her as he kissed her cheek softly.
After they ate dinner in mostly silence with Trent making small talk. He took her hand and stood her up. He pulled her close as they started to dance as "This I Promise You" by Nsync began to play.
"Remember this song? This was our song." Trent smiled pulling Katie close to him as they started to dance.
It took all Kate had not to push him away as she was trying to stay calm. She knew she needed to earn his trust if she ever wanted to get out of here.
"I remember." She said softly closing her eyes and thinking of Jon, Seth and her children to get through this moment.
"And I will take you in my arms. And hold you right where you belong. Til' the day my life is through. This I promise you. I've loved you forever. In lifetimes before. And I promise you never. Will you hurt anymore. I give you my word. I give you my heart. This is a battle we've won/ And with this vow/ Forever has now begun."
As the song continued Trent looked into her eyes and kissed her lips softly.
"Trent this is moving to fast." She said pulling away feeling sick to her stomach at his touch. Trying not to scream holding it together.
Using all his strength and power he pulled her even closer. Holding her arms tightly in his.
"Trust me sweet pea. You'll enjoy it. Don't fight me."
