Prologue

A number of years have passed since the Third Holy Grail War, a spectacle observed by Mages all across the Mage Association and their competitors. Among these spectators, were certain Americans. Derric Hart and his long time friend Erric Lowe were searching a fast lane to The American Dream when they heard of the Grail War and came to watch the event. While the ritual itself sputtered out, their dreams were ignited brightly. They knew they had the means, Hart's territory having been home of many shaman rituals of the natives during America's expansion west and Lowe's house a master of empowering appropriate vessels, but; they were missing the method. Until a third, as there must always be, came forth Amai Nikuyo. Her family among mages was not remarkable in terms of power, being relatively new, Amai sought to change that. Her family, though they lacked power more than made up for it in sheer knowledge and understanding of the ritual that had occurred in Fuyuki. Gleaned in but the Second and Third War they could read the strands of the magic itself to rebuild the ritual. Thus with their new member, they found the area for which the ritual would commence, brought forth the needed materials, and invited the necessary sacrifices.

And as with all other Grail Wars, ended with needless bloodshed. Only the three founders survived to see their project complete, as was their intention. But it came at a cost, many surrounding locals and natives found their lives brought to a cruel if mercifully short end. There were few heroes summoned in this war, as the Masters simply allowed the Grail to select their servants for them, each one crueler than the last. Thus did the False Grail War of Graveshire begin. The victor was the foreigner who came to American shores for the promise of this wish. And so did she earn it. The Nikuyo family found their power amplified greatly, the wish spreading through their bloodline. Yet as she reveled in her victory, she did not see the dagger of envy and vengeance strike. She died happy, unknowing of her killer. Her peers likewise knew not of what happened, other than she had gained her wish.

But now sixty years have come and gone. The Fourth Holy Grail War has ended in catastrophe. And to those who had seen the success of the False Grail, it only proved to them theirs was the truly superior and true Grail. And the forces of this new war began to gather. For the False Grail beckons it's sickly and blood stained promise to all Masters willing to kill for it.

And Certain Servants Are Quite Willing
