CHAPTER 15: AHSOKA, RATS, and DONOVAN

Ahsoka awoke on the ground with paining aching through her head. Feeling for her mask, she slowly sat up. She knew the radiation was bad, but she knew that having her mask off for two moments wouldn't kill her. When she took it off, cold air immediately rushed over her skin and it felt good.

"Ahsoka!" A voice from her left. She looked over to see Rats run to her. "Are you okay?" When he got to her he reached out his hand.

"Yeah I am fine, are you?" She started taking it.

"Yeah."

"Where's Donovan?" She asked curiously looking for the other boy.

"Stupid! Stupid!" Donovan yelled from the other side of the wreckage.

Ahsoka and Rats began walking to the other side.

"Donovan, it's not your fault," Ahsoka began as she saw Donvan kicking a dead droid on the ground.

"No it definitely is!" Donovan stated. "I'm not mad at that though!" "I just don't get these droids, why would you GIVE a droid a blaster. It would make ten times more sense to install the blaster into the droid!"

Ahsoka began chuckling to herself. "There are some droids that have blaster's in them." She replied.

"Yeah well, apparently there were some idiots that thought that some shouldn't!" He yelled. "I just get mad at bad craftsmanship," Donovan stated.

"You have had some pretty bad ideas." Rats started putting his hands on his hips.

"Yeah but not like this!" Donovan yelled. "These droids are so freaking cheap!" "The Cylons were better designed! Like they are so stupid! They only have a few attack moves and they aren't waterproof. Honestly no offense Ahsoka but how the HELL is the Republic that has an army of humans losing to a bunch of cheap droids! It makes no sense!"

"Well when there's a lot of them coming at you battles can get pretty intense," Ahsoka stated.

"Peach!" Rats laughed. "I bet you if you got me to one droid charging area I could end the war!"

"How?" Ahsoka asked.

"Have you ever heard of hacking?" Donovan asked.

"Yeah, but what difference does that make?" Ahsoka asked.

"Well you see these droids are HELLA Cheap, so I really doubt they have much virus protection on them." Donovan began.

"They are machines, why do they need virus protection on them?" Ahsoka asked.

"It's not like a virus that Organism like you or I could get." Rats continued. "It's an algorithm that can completely destroy the droids programming system,"

"In this case Rats and I can look at the programming that went into these droids, write a virus that will trick their software into thinking it commands."

"Blast it on a frequency wave!"

"And then make them blow each other up or something," Donovan stated.

"Wait, are….are you guys serious?" Ahsoka asked.

Both nodded.

Ahsoka looked at them as a huge smile crept upon her face! "Oh my gosh! Why have we never thought of that! I never thought that was possible!" "Do you think you could do that for us when we get our men back?"

"Ahhhh…..yeah!" Donovan stated. "But I'm gonna need program software from all the droids."

"We could strip it from the droids themselves, but that would take A LOT of time!" Rats stated.

"So if you can get a copy of their software, send it to us on we can send out the Virus," Donovan stated.

"It's a deal!" Ahsoka smiled.

"Okay Great!" Rats started and then looked around. "We really should get going to the Rondevu point, if Piper gets there before us she's gonna kill us."

They began walking through the city for a few hours. The clouds began moving about and even began dripping water on them. Ahsoka held up her cloak to cover her head from the rain even though she had a mask on.

"How much further?" Ahsoka asked.

"Ahh, a couple more miles," Donovan replied. "We told Piper we would meet her at this tower that is at the base of the mountain." "You know before we go into the base to get the troopers back."

"Ahh, that's so far!" Ahsoka stated. She normally didn't complain so much but she was really starting to get fed up with this planet and she wanted to get off of it.

Rats smiled under his mask. "Come on Ahsoka! It's not too far!" "Aren't you used to walking long distances?"

"Yeah but not with bulky clothes, mask, and no connection to the force!"

"She's got us there dude!" Donovan stated.

"Just admit it you're just sick of our planet!" Rats stated.

Ahsoka gazed up at him. "Honestly yeah." "No offense, you guys are friendly, but your planet stinks!"

"Yeah, it really does!" Donovan stated. "We are sick of it too."

"Have you ever thought of leaving?" Ahsoka asked.

"Can't it's illegal." Rats stated.

"Oh yeah," Ahsoka stated. She looked up and noticed something in the distance, a man. They had seen multiple Ant-Walking Alligators but this man was different. He was just standing there, not doing anything. She squinted a little to get a better look.

The man was a few feet away but she could make out his facial features, he clearly had a mouth, a nose, some eyes so he wasn't an Ant-Walking Alligator.

"What the hell is that!" Donovan stated.

All three of them paused.

"It looks like a man!" Rats stated.

"Well, no shit sherlock!" Donovan stated. "We all know that but we want to know what a MAN, with no mask, is doing out here."

"Well excuse me I am just making observations!" Rats argued back.

The two began arguing but Ahsoka just kept watching the man. He looked familiar, he was wearing a grey jumpsuit. Ahsoka looked at his head and that was when she spotted the bright blonde hair. Rex.

"I know him!" She interrupted Rats and Donovan.

"What!" Donovan asked.

"It's one of the troopers Captain Rex," Ahsoka said, containing herself from running over to him, she felt uneasy about the situation, and giving the past few days no one could blame her.

"Well, what's he doing there?" Rats asked.

"I don't know." Ahsoka took off her mask and slowly and cautiously made her way up to him. Rats and Donovan drew their guns and proceeded to follow her.

"Hey, Rex!" She shouted once they were in shouting range.

Rex didn't move a muscle he just stood there looking straight ahead in a daze.

"Rexy!" Donovan yelled which was rewarded with a look from Rats.

"Rex! It's me Ahsoka!" Ahsoka shouted, getting closer.

Rex didn't move a muscle, but his eyes glazed over to Ahsoka. "HMMMMMM!" He began making a noise as if he wanted to speak, but couldn't.

"Rex!"Ahsoka asked. "What, What is it!"

"Comm…hmmm." Rex was trying really hard. "Behind you!" He finally got out.

The three of them turned around to seven Calvary members. Six had masks on and guns pointed at them, but the one in front did not.

"Hello! We have been expecting you!" Phoenix stated.

Rats and Donovan kept their guns up.

"TELL YOUR MAN TO STAND DOWN, PHOENIX!" Donovan yelled.

"Hahaha, you have always been an optimistic Donovan," Phoenix stated. "But I think you know that you are outnumbered here, we don't intend to hurt you so if I were you I would make the smart choice and put your guns down."

Rats and Donovan glanced at each other and put their guns down and their hands up.

Phoenix walked forward. "Now, I have some questions for you three, first of all, where are the other three you were traveling with."

"We aren't telling you anything!" Ahsoka yelled aggressively.

Phoenix glanced at her, he recognized her from the hologram. "I like you kid, you're very tough. But I guarantee you, you have not faced the likes of me, so I will let your ignorance slide. Please tell me what I want to know and do not lie. I can tell if you're lying."

"Do what he says, kid!" Rex grunted with utter fear in his voice.

Ahsoka frowned, it took a lot to scare Rex. what could possibly scare him so much? But Ahsoka has dealt with scary before, she remembers the son from Mortis and how scared she was when he took her, but she didn't let the son know that and she didn't plan on letting this guy scare her.

"You don't scare me!" She gritted through her teeth.

Phoenix narrowed his eyes, his demeanor changed. He lifted his arm but before he could do anything Rats stepped up.

"We got separated!" Rats yelled.

Phoenix stopped and looked over at him and smiled. "How?" He asked.

"We got chased by a robotic man thing and then we all got separated." Rats continued.

"A robotic man thing?" Phoenix questioned.

"He's telling the truth!" Donovan cried. "It weirded us out too."

"No, I believe you. I can tell you are telling the truth I am just trying to understand." Phoenix stated.

Rex squinted his eyes. Why does the Robotic Man thing sound familiar?

"He was part Robot part machine and was coughing violently!" Rats cried.

Then it dawned on Rex. "General Grievous."

Phoenix gazed up at him.

"What's the head clanker doing here?" Rex stated.

"Captain Rex does this Man Robot sound familiar."

"He's a general in the Separatist army," Rex answered.

"Oh, so the separatist is here!" Phoenix smiled. Wonderful!" Phoenix stated. "It's a whole force party then!" He then narrowed his eyes and looked at Rats. "Rats you are a smart boy, am I correct to assume that Piper was traveling with you."

Rats put his head down. "Yes." He stated.

"Okay she always has back up plans, where are you meeting them?" Phoenix asked.

"Why do you want to know that!" Ahsoka shouted aggressively trying to distract him a little longer before Rats and Donovan gave away the rest of the plan.

"Oh, I want to have a long-awaited conversation with you Master!" Phoenix stated. "The man's connection with the force is extreme!" "I am going to need him for the next phase of work!"

"He will never join you!" Ahsoka shouted.

"Oh, I wasn't expecting him too!" Phoenix stated. "But I do need something from him." "You see child, once our organization gets off this planet we will have to take over the Republic, and right now there is someone very powerful guarding it!" "I need to defeat him and so I need your Masters Force signature. So I plan on making him give it to me!" "So I will ask again. Where are you going to meet them!"

"You will never…" Ahsoka started but was cut off.

"The tower!" Donovan stated.

Ahsoka gave Rats and Donovan a sad look.

"We're sorry Ahsoka." Rats stated. "But you don't know what this man will do!"

"He's right, kid," Rex stated.

Ahsoka looked down, she felt defeated.

"Don't be so sad little one," Phoenix stated. He squatted to eye level with her. "You remind me of someone I once knew." "She had the same fire as you, but that will be the death of her."

"SHUT UP!" Rats yelled and took an aggressive stance forward.

The Cavalry members all pointed their guns at him.

"Take them to the prison with the others!" Phoenix yelled.

The Calvary grabbed Rex, Rats, and Donovan shoving them away with their guns. Ahsoka was about to walk with them but she felt a harsh tug on her arm.

"Not you!" Phoenix stated. "I'm gonna need you for this next part!"

"Let go of me!" Ahsoka tried to pull away, but Phoenix was strong, very strong.

"Ahsoka!" Rats yelled tugging back.

"Let go of her!" Donovan yelled.

"You'll see her again," Phoenix stated as he watched the Calvary load them onto a truck.

"You better not hurt her!" Rex yelled.

Phoenix grabbed harder on her arm.

"Arrhh!" Ahsoka cried. His grip really hurt and it would surely leave a bruise.

"Oh, I can't make any promises." He smirked.
