***Hello, everyone! If there's more typos than normal, then please know that I'm doing this on my cell phone. If not, then it's a bonus for me. Anyways, I don't own Yuri or Otabek, but I do own Yuri's mother. Let's go!

Chapter Three: One Call Away

Yuri was released from the hospital that night with pain medication for his arm and his concussion, as well as the order to take it easy. It wasn't as if he felt up to doing anything; he had a crisis on his hands.

Katsudon and Victor went back to their own homes, and Nikolai dropped Yuri and Otabek off at Yuri's insistence at their apartment.

Immediately, the blond went to his bedroom. However, he had shut the door on Otabek. The older of the two knocked on the door. "Yuri, it's my room too," he reasoned. It took a few moments of consideration, it seemed, but Yuri did open the door.

"You can't blame me for having a bit of a crisis right now," he said dryly. Otabek guided him to sit down on the bed, then sat down with him. "I can't. I'll give you that," he admitted.

Things fell silent between them. After a few long minutes, Yuri finally spoke up. "I still have her phone number."

Otabek raised an eyebrow. "Weren't you too young to have a phone when you got taken from your mom? You've told me this story," he said.

"Granpda gave me her number, but he never gave her mine. In case I call her someday," Yuri explained. He took out his phone and pulled up a contact labelled Nadya Plisetsky. "I never thought I would call her, but I guess that's what we're doing tonight," he said. Well, there was just one surprise after another for the night.

"You want me to leave for this, or...?" he asked. "No. I know you'll probably want to listen, and I want a witness for anything my mother says to me. I'll put it on speaker, but you keep your mouth shut," Yuri said.

He braced himself for a few moments. A few long, long moments. Otabek was unsure if the call would even be made. However, Yuri finally pressed the call button, and he put the call on speaker.

The phone rang once.

Twice.

Three times.

And then, Nadya picked up. "Hello, who is this?" At that moment, Yuri looked as if he were about to throw up. Otabek laid a hand on his back to encourage him. Then, the Russian gained some confidence and spoke.

"Yuri Plisetsky. Your son. You saw me at the Grand Prix Final earlier," he said. Otabek gave him a thumbs-up.

"It's been a long time, Yuri! Why haven't I seen you in such a long time?" Nadya asked.

Yuri gritted his teeth. "So you don't remember? You don't remember everything we went through when I was younger? Were you that drunk?!" he snapped. "Now, now. I remember it, and don't lose your cool like that with me. Yuri, it's been years since we've seen each other, and I want to see my baby!" Nadya said.

"Grandpa raised me. All you did was scar me for life and call me a failed abortion. I remember asking my teacher what the word meant," Yuri deadpanned. It took a while for Nadya to come up with a decent response to that. "And... done!" she said out of the blue.

"What did you do?" Yuri asked, wary. "I made a restaurant reservation for you, me, and your grandpa. We need to see each other again. Not just over the phone," Nadya said. That left Yuri spluttering for a response.

He was in such shock that he didn't even do anything when Otabek grabbed his phone. "This is Otabek Altin, Yuri's boyfriend. Make that dinner reservation for a party of four. I want to come along for this. I've never seen his family, and it's time for that to change," he said. Then, he hung up and put the phone on the nightstand. He rested his arm around Yuri.

"Want me to take a shower with you so you can get the blood pressure down and sleep? It's been a long day, and I can tell you're tired," he offered. Yuri glanced at his cast. "Did the doctor say this thing was waterproof?" he asked. "Yes. And one second, before we get into the shower," Otabek said.

Then, he left the room and came back with a permanent marker. He wrote down "Beka" on Yuri's cast, underlining the nickname twice. The Russian smiled, then looked at his boyfriend. "Was that really necessary?" he asked. "I've signed a lot of casts and had a lot of my own casts signed in my time," Otabek shrugged. "You're a child," Yuri said.

Still, he gave Otabek a kiss and lead him towards the shower. As they showered together and relaxed over late-night takeout, Yuri was still a bit stressed at the back of his mind.

After years of not seeing her or even talking to her, he would have to go out for dinner with his mother. Luckily, he would have two of his biggest support systems by his side during it: Nikolai and Otabek.

It was three against one. Yuri could totally get through one night.

Right?

***For the record, writing these chapters with DDLC mods in the background makes for some interesting side thoughts. Anyways, be sure to leave a review on the way out, and I'll see you all in the next one! Bye!
