Natsu's world as been turned upside down. He got this strange code and now he was in a place called Chaotic, named after his favorite game, where e became Magmon and is facing against a girl named Erza wo as become Biondu. It was all unbelievable, but it seems like he was going to lose his first battle in Chaotic.
"Sorry. You migt be a newbie, but I'm not holding back." Biondu said. "I think you need to cool down." Biondu pulled out a blaster called a liquilizer and aimed it right at Magmon. Biondu fired water, but Magmon rolled out of the way and avoided the attack and started running.
'This is nuts.' Natsu thought. 'I've got to fight back.' Magmon stopped running and turned to him. He held out his hand and was getting ready to attack. "Ash Torrent?" Magmon unleashed a blast of ash and it hit Biondu. "Whoa! I actually did that? Awesome! What about my battlegear?" Just like that, a red whip appeared in his hands. Just what he needed. 'Torrent of Flame!" He whipped the whip and unleashed a stream of fire that blasted Biondu.
...
Lucy
"Yes! He's got it rather quickly." Lucy said as she watched the battle with some others. "Natsu's starting to get the hang of it. He always does better with a hands-on experience." Lucy thought Natsu was doing well and she wasn't the only one. Someone else was watching the battle. he had slick black hair and wore shades. He also had an orange jacket with a white fur collar with him also wearing a white shirt and beige pants.
"Yes. Doing well for a newbie."
...
The Battle
"Not bad, but you won't win that easily." Biondu said. "Try my Torrent of Flame!" Biondu used the same attack and blasted Magmon with it. Biondu didn't stop there as Biondu used the battlegear and froze the ground he was standing on and slipped.
"Ouch." Magmon complained as he tried to get back up, but Biondu aimed and was ready to finish him. Lucy watched the battle and thought it was over.
"Not good. He only has five energy left." Lucy said.
"Any last words before you get coded?" Biondu said. Natsu didn't want it to end like this.
'I can't let my first battle end like this.' Natsu thought. 'There is one thing left to try, but I hope it works.'
"Canon of Casualty!" Magmon called for the mugic and it worked as music was being played. Biondu looked up and was caught off guard by the mugic as a ray of flames came down and smashed against Biondu. Biondu took a lot of damage and exploded in code. When that happened, everything returned to normal with Erza being Erza again and Magmon changing back to Natsu.
"The winner of the match: Fire-Dragneel."
"I won? I won! Awesome!" Natsu said as he was amazed with all that he just did. Erza walked right over to him and held out her hand.
"Nice match. Welcome to Chaotic again." Erza said.
"Thanks, Erza." Natsu said as the two shook hands. Both of them exited the build where Lucy was waiting for them.
"Way to go, Natsu. How does it feel to win your first match in Chaotic?" Lucy asked.
"Incredible. I can't believe that all actually happened." Natsu said.
"Wait. Natsu? Oh! So this is the friend you've been telling me about." Erza said.
"Yep. Erza, allow me formally introduce Natsu Dragneel. He and I have been best friends ever since we were kids." Lucy said.
"Hold on. You two know each other?" Natsu said.
"Sure do. Erza has been a great friend of mine ever since I first got to Chaotic." Lucy said. "Just like you, I was so confused on what was happening, but Erza helped me out. It's impressive that you were able to win. Erza is a pretty tough battler to beat."
"Really?" Natsu said as he was liking how it played out.
"Don't let it go to your head. You just surprised me with that mugic. I wasn't expecting a newbie to use Canon of Casualty in their first match." Erza said.
"That's Natsu for you. He always tries to hit hard and heavy." Lucy said. Now that the battle was over, Lucy and Erza were showing Natsu around.
"So what do you think of Chaotic?" Erza said.
"It's a little unbelievable. One moment I was in my room, the next I'm here." Natsu said, but he suddenly realized something. "Home?! My parents! They'll kill me when they realize I'm gone."
"Natsu, calm down. You're still at home." Erza said.
"What are you talking about? I'm right here. How can I be here and at home at the same time?" Natsu said.
"I'm not really sure how it works, but it happened when you sent the code here." Lucy said. "When you transport to Chaotic, it's sort of like a clone of you is sent here while the real you is still home. Of course, while you're here, your scanner and your online deck aren't accessible. Again, I'm not sure how it works, but that's how it happens."
"What's more is that you can go home whenever you like. When you do go home, all the memories and scans you have go with you." Erza said.
"So I'm home and my scanner wouldn't be working." Natsu said. "That's a relief. I probably would have thought it was broken and threw it away." He passed it off as a joke, but Lucy wasn't laughing.
"Threw it away? Natsu, you probably did back home! Without your scanner back home, you can never leave here!" Lucy said. "That might sound like a good thing, but it isn't. That means you can't access your cards and this might affect our friendship since I'm the one that talked you into it."
"You mean I'm stuck here?!" Natsu said.
"No your not." Erza said. "Lucy, just port home and see if Natsu still has his scanner. Natsu, when you're ready to go home, just press the button on top of your scanner. When you answer your scanner back home, you'll be sent home."
"So I should just wait a while?" Natsu asked.
"Yeah. Just leave it to me, Natsu." Lucy said as she took out her blue scanner. "Hopefully, this won't take long." She walked off and was on her way home.
"I sure hope this works." Natsu said. "I probably would be mad at Lucy and I don't want to lose her as a friend."
"I'm sure it will be fine. I got somewhere I need to be, but just hang here until you're ready to head home." Erza said.
"Thanks, Erza." Natsu said and Erza left him alone. When she did, that's when the guy that was watching his battle stepped out.
"Having trouble returning home? I can help you with that. Those two don't know it, but there's actually a way for you to return home."
"Who are you?" Natsu asked.
"My name is Clyde Farrel. I know a way you can return home. Just come with me."
"Really? Thanks, man." Natsu said as Clyde led him through the Chaotic.
...
Earth
It was the next day on Earth and Natsu was still trying to get his online deck, but he had no access to it.
"What's going on? Where's my deck?" Natsu questioned. That was when Lucy came in, but Natsu seemed mad at her. "Well, look who's here. The girl that just messed up my deck."
"I take it you still can't access your scanner or your deck." Lucy said. "Natsu, I know you must be mad, but you need to listen to me."
"No way! Because I did, my scanner is ruined and I can't access my online deck." Natsu said.
"Natsu, I get your mad, but there's more to it than you think. You just need your scanner." Lucy said.
"Forget it. You owe me a new one and you better know how to get my online deck back." Natsu said as he didn't want to fall for another trick.
"Natsu, we've been friends for a long time. Why would I trick you like that when I know how much you love this game?" Lucy said. "You've got to trust me. I know you think I tricked you or something, but I'm trying to show you that I'm making up for it. Natsu, you've got to trust me." They have been friends for a long time and it never did seem like Lucy to trick him.
"Fine. One chance. What do we do?" Natsu said.
"We need your scanner. Where is it?" Lucy asked, but that was when Natsu panicked.
"I threw it away! Mom already took out the trash!" Natsu said. They heard a truck outside and they saw the garbage truck emptying out the trash with Natsu's scanner in it and driving away.
"We've got to go and get it back." Lucy said as the two of them hurried after the truck.
...
Chaotic
Meanwhile, Clyde had Natsu believed he was returning home as they were at the transport system.
"Here we are. Just let me see your scanner." Clyde said. Natsu handed him the scanner and Clyde input something in his scanner. "There we go. Just press the button and you'll be off."
"Thanks, Clyde." Natsu said as he took his scanner. "I'll see you around. I'll be coming back." With that, Natsu pressed the button and vanished.
"I doubt that." Clyde said.
...
Natsu
"It's good to be...monster?!" Natsu shouted as he saw he was in a strange place. It was some sort of valley with a monster face in the mountain. "Where the heck am I now?" Natsu was so confused and he didn't notice someone sneaking up on him. Natsu felt someone grabbed him and pinned him to the ground. He looked to see it was another guy with spikey black hair. He wore a leather jacket with the bottom half white and the top half brown with black pants and a red shirt.
"Listen here, pal. I got here first so I'm scanning Ultadur and I'm not letting you get in the way of that."
"Get off me!" Natsu said as he shoved him off. "I don't know what you're talking about, who you are, or where I am. I thought I was heading home."
"You're a long way from home." The guy said as he stood up.
"I can see that. Clyde said he was helping me get home." Natsu said.
"Clyde? Clyde Farrel? He doesn't help anyone, but himself."
"Really? I just got done with my first match and he was showing me how to go home." Natsu said.
"Oh... I get it now. You're a newbie. Clyde thinks he's the best chaotic player ever and he looks down on others. He tricked you into being sent here because he figured since you were new, you wouldn't find your way back. Less competition for him."
"What?! That weasel!" Natsu said. "So where are we and who are you?"
"My name is Zach, Zach Zamen. This is Perim, the place where all the creatures, mugic, battlegear, and locations come from. You have a location scan of Fear Valley, right? Since you do, you're able to come here. Here, you can add to your arsenal."
"You can? How?" Natsu said. That was when they heard some sort of explosion.
"I'll show you." Zach said as the two of them headed for where the location came from. They hid behind some rocks and saw two creatures fighting and one was incredibly fast.
"Who are they?" Natsu said.
"Hifdan and Ultadur." Zach said. "An overworlder and an underworlder. That speedy one is Ultadur, the one I cam here to scan."
"Progressive Speed!" Ultadur used an attack and blasted Hifdan and knocked him down. "Nowhere to run now, Hifdan." While Ultadur was distracted, Zach held out his brown scanner and used it to scan Ultadur. Natsu watched and saw a scanned copy of Ultadur appeared on the screen.
"See?" Zach said. Ultadur heard that and spotted the two of them.
"Chaotic players!" Ultadur said and he didn't sound happy to see them. He fired an energy attack at them, but Hifdan jumped in the way and took the attack. "So you aren't done yet, Hifdan?" Ultadur walked over to him and seemed ready to finish him.
"I got the scan. We can go now." Zach said.
"Zach, that creature just helped us. He needs help. We've got to do something." Natsu said. he looked around and pulled a branch from a tree for him to save Hifdan.
"Wait!" Zach said, but it was too late. Natsu hurried and smashed the branch against Ultadur.
"Brave, but not smart." Ultadur said as he was about to attack him, but Zach tackled Natsu and got him out of the way.
"Not smart is right. You got to treat it like it's life or death here because you might never come back to chaotic and your days as player might be over." Zach said.
"Your days are over." Ultadur said as he was about to attack them, but a blast of fire came and stopped him.
"That's enough Ultadur." They all looked up and saw a red dragon-like creature with a human physique. He flew down and stood in the way.
"That's...Igneel!" Zach said as he couldn't believe he was right in front of him.
"You attack those who can't defend themselves? You've already won this fight. Leave it." Igneel said.
"Fine." Ultadur said, but he didn't sound happy. "You might be an underworlder, but you better figure out which side you're on." With that, Ultadur used his incredible speed and left.
"Wow... I've got to try that scan thing." Natsu said as he aimed his scanner at Igneel.
"Uh... Dude..." Zach tried to warn him, but Igneel shot some flames near them and stopped Natsu from doing anything.
"I may have saved you, but I'm not going to be part of your game." Igneel said. He didn't wait around anymore as he flew into the sky and left.
"Try not to take it so hard. Igneel is one of the rarest and hardest creatures to scan." Zach said. Natsu wasn't worried about that now. He hurried over to Hifdan and helped him stand.
"You okay?" Natsu asked.
"I will be." Hifdan said.
"Hifdan, what are you doing in Fear Valley? This is Underworld territory." Zach said.
"I was working on some maps to give to Maxxor. That was when Ultadur attacked me." Hifdan said. "Thanks for trying to help me out back there."
"No problem, but we should get going. I'll show you how to get home." Zach said. Natsu had one crazy first day in Chaotic.
...
The Dump
Natsu and Lucy were looking for Natsu's scanner at the city dumped after it got thrown away.
"This better be worth it, Lucy." Natsu said.
"It will if we find that scanner." Lucy said as they searched around through the dump. Natsu kept looking and soon spotted something flashing. He moved the garbage and saw it was his scanner.
"Got it!" Natsu said. He grabbed his scanner and saw the top button was blinking. "What's this?" He pressed the button and everything went flashing in his head, all the memories came back with him. Lucy knew that had to be the case and waited to see what he thought now. "Lucy... Did that all really happen?"
"It sure did." Lucy said.
"Amazing!" Natsu said. "I actually went to Fear Valley! I saw this creature named Igneel! Zach really helped me out!"
"Wait." Lucy said as she followed him out of the dump. "You went to Perim?! You saw Igneel?! Who's Zach? What happened when I left?"
"A lot. It's all...chaotic." Natsu said as a new door to this game has opened for him.
